Police officers are well-paid in Nigeria and this is an aberration to the public orientation that most of the officers are poorly remunerated. Police service commission has recruited 10,000 personnel across the country. Check out the Nigerian police force salary structure for those that have applied and would-be officers of the security outfit after recruitment process. Admit it, we’ve all done this before …. 1. Rushing For Food At Events During events, especially weddings and it’s time for “Item 13”, almost everybody wants to get to the table as quick as possible and you see Nigerians skipping queues to get there first. The same Nigerians who do this will condemn others for doing so. 2. Skipping Queues Every Nigerians seems to be in a hurry, usually termed “busy for nothing”. Some Nigerians are not disciplined at all when it comes to joining queues, everybody wants to skip or play smart with queues, be it queueing to vote, boarding a commercial vehicle, in the bank etc. we always want to jump queues but nobody wants to admit to the fact that, they’ve ever done this. 3. Window Shopping Almost every Nigerian have done window shopping before but none will admit to this. “We dey form big abi?” 4. Packing Food At Events To Send Home Almost every Nigerian has done this before, especially the women. Not everybody wants to eat their food at an event, so you have many requesting for it packaged for them to take home. 5. Farting In Public Need we say more? You reading this, you know you’ve done it once or twice but did you own up? ?? 6. Sleeping In A Bus or Keke The busy life in Nigeria makes us wake up at odd hours. So when the day is done, there is a high possibility you will end up sleeping in a bus or keke but ask the average Nigerian on the street and they will vehemently deny it. 7. Grammatical Error In English Nigerians love to laugh at people for making grammatical errors but we forget English is not our mother’s tongue. We’ve all been there before but everybody is good at English and tend to correct you when you make the least error. 8. Haggling With No Intention Of Buying A Nigerian can walk to the market with nothing in his pocket and haggle on goods knowing perfectly well they will not buy it. This is something most of us have done before. 9. Eavesdropping On Conversation Be it in the Bus,Keke,Taxi or any commercial vehicle, we just can’t mind our own business, you have people eavesdropping on people’s conversation to have something to tell when they get home. 10. Buying Something Because It Was Advertised On TV Nigerians love to buy products all because it was advertised on TV just to prove they have it too. But ask any Nigerian who does that and they will deny it by telling you they’ve been buying it long before it even came on the market. 11. Lateness To Events The Nigerianman time (NMT) is a well known thing among Nigerians, if we are supposed to be present at 3pm, we will arrive at 7pm. This is something every Nigerian does but the same person will blame others for coming to the event late. 12. Dumping Rubbish Into Drains When It Is Raining Whenever it rains and there is a flood, we all blame the people who dump rubbish into drainages but we are all guilty. We’ve done it before. 13. Joining Queues To Be Served Twice Nigerians are always acting like Oliver Twist and will always skip queues to get served twice. At events when the serving is per head, Ghanaians will skip through queuesafter receiving theirs and pretend they never took some just to get two instead of one for everyone. Something everyone has ever done but will never admit it. Admit it, you’ve done one of these things before. |

The Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Buruji Kashamu has urged Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose “to stop the needless mudslinging against the wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari and face the allegations against him”.In a statement he issued in Abuja today, Kashamu likened Fayose’s attempt to link Mrs Buhari with the Halliburton scandal as a “needless distraction and an amateurish shadow-boxing. His action could be taken for a drowning man clutching at a straw”. The statement reads in part, “It is interesting that Mr. Fayose is talking about the rule of law and the need to do things within the ambit of the law. I never knew that he has ever heard of the concept of the Rule of Law. When he trampled on other people’s rights in a bid to abrogate their tenure in office where was the Rule of Law? Now he is crying out because he is afraid he might have to get a taste of his own medicine because a man must certainly reap whatever he sows. “Mr. Fayose is talking about the fact that he enjoys immunity under the law. If I may ask: can a governor who disobeys the law with reckless abandon seek protection under the law? You cannot say because immunity covers you, you should not be investigated if you are suspected to have benefitted from the funds that were meant to buy arms for the protection of Nigerians. I think it is high time that we, as a people and government, address the issue of people committing crimes and hiding under the immunity clause.” The statement further added, “Fayose must stop chasing shadows and address the allegations against him. It is preposterous that he suddenly remembered that someone was involved in the Halliburton scandal at exactly the same time that he is being investigated over the funds he allegedly collected from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). “The questions are: Was he a beneficiary of the ONSA funds? Is it true that over N300million was frozen in three accounts traced to him? Were suspicious cash deposits made into the accounts in 2014, in clear violation of the Money Laundering Act and other enabling laws? “It is said that you can fool some people all of the time but you cannot fool all the people all of the time. Nigerians can now see that what is playing out is a confirmation of my earlier position that the loudest among us are not necessarily the most pious. If he is being asked questions about his campaign funds, he should be bold enough to give explanations without necessarily casting aspersion on anyone. He should allow necessary investigations to go on unimpeded. That will not only help to prove his innocence or otherwise but could possibly boost his rating. He could even choose to waive his immunity to aid the investigation if he does not have anything to hide. Immunity does not preclude any public officer even a governor from explaining how he funded his election campaign or the source (s) of deposits made into his account (s). “The reality that Mr. Fayose must come to terms with is that the allegations against him are too grave to be sidelined for a seemingly spurious allegation against the wife of the president. Months of workers’ salaries are yet to be paid in Ekiti State; development partners have abandoned state, just as families are languishing as a result of his ill-advised political scheming. “This current campaign of calumny and juvenile tantrums cannot sweep the issue of corruption under the carpet; neither can it kick enough dirt to make any right-thinking Nigerian to shut his or her eyes to the truth. This is not about party affiliation or dog eating dog. It is about the plundering of our commonwealth and there should be no sacred cows in the fight against corruption. This is a fight that all patriotic Nigerians should lend their weight without any primordial sentiments or prejudice.” Source www.gistslodge.com/2016/06/22/kashamu-fayose-leave-buharis-wife-woes-face-issues/?utm_content=bufferc19d5&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer |
