Unfortunately, some African mothers still force-feed their children this way. This practice - I think - needs to be phased out or what do you think?

Top 10 Safest Countries in Africa are as follows: 1. Botswana Botswana is undoubtedly one of the countries perceived to be most safe in the continent. This country located in the southern part of Africa has consistently enjoyed good publicity. Positive aspects of the country include a good infrastructure, political stability, stable currency, and much more. In addition, its strong judicial system always makes certain that rights and freedoms are fully protected. 2. Namibia It seems the safety wave is concentrated in the Southern part considering that Namibia neighbors Botswana. The country has indeed come a long way when it comes to matters of safety. A few decades ago, the country was nowhere near the top ten list. However, political will and good governance turned this around thus making it a haven of peace. 3. Seychelles For a long time, Seychelles has always enjoyed peace. Rarely will bad stories be written about the country. There are several reasons that make the African state safe and peaceful. These include; well organized judicial system, strong adherence to human rights and freedom, cordial relationship between the citizens and the government and more. 4. Cote D’Ivoire When Cote Divoire also known as Ivory Coast is mentioned, one thing comes to mind, Cocoa. Besides priding itself in being the largest producer of cocoa beans globally, Ivory Coast boasts of being one of the safest countries in Africa . This always comes as a shock to many people considering it is surrounded by countries that are constantly experiencing instability. 5. Tanzania Tanzania is the only country from the East African region to make it to the list of the top 10 safest countries in Africa. The large country attributes its safeness to the “ujamaa” mentality that is rife in the country. The Swahili term “ujamaa” simply means communism. It is all about caring and showing concern for your neighbour. 6. Malawi Malawi hasn’t always been considered amongst the safe countries in Africa. In fact, more than a decade ago, it was experiencing some social, political as well as economic instability. This was pegged on the failing economy, political wrangles and much more. Fortunately, the economic turnaround improved the countries prospects further making the country quite safe. 7. Ethiopia Ethiopia will always hold a special place in history. Many people came to know of the country due to extreme famine, drought, and poverty. This led to the whole world joining hands to assist the country. Well, three decades later, the country is not only among the top 10 food secure countries in Africa, but also one of the safest. 8. Morocco Morocco is the only country from northern part of Africa to make it to the list of safest countries in the continent. Besides being surrounded by countries well known for rebellions, Morocco has continued to remain peaceful and safe for many years. This is achieved as a result of good governance, well established policies and also effective community policing. 9. Rwanda Rwanda came into the spotlight following the genocide that took place several years. This marked one of the darkest moments not only in Africa’s history, but also the whole world. Slowly, the country continues to heal and move on. Some of the glad tidings that have come from the new Rwanda are peace, improved security and safety. 10. Gambia Although it is not talked about so much, Gambia is actually ranked as one the safest countries not only in West Africa, but also in Africa. The people are generally friendly and quite hospitable, the systems work in the country, and you can walk in the late of the night feeling safe and secure. Like many other regions globally, Africa is also struggling when it comes to safety. This is driven by rising cost of living, shaky economy, poverty and unemployment. Fortunately, the countries featured on the Top 10 Safest Countries in Africa bring a sigh of relief in regard to feeling safe while in africa. The mentioned countries will certainly make a trip to the continent worthwhile. : Source: answersafrica.com/safest-countries-africa.html |

The ceiling of the girls hostel at the NYSC Imo State camp caved in today on one of the bunks and there was a girl on the bed, thankfully she narrowly escaped. The girls also claim there are snakes in the hostels, the ceilings are leaking, bathroom and toilets are bad. Choi! Just this morning a snake was killed in front of the hostel and a python was killed in another hostel yesterday. Our lives are at stake here. The living condition in this camp is extremely bad. Imo state government and the federal government need to do something about this." a girl from the camp told LIB. See more photos below...

Laila's eyes and ears were busy minding their business and reading the word of God when a strange North East wind from the lucid grapevine blew some hot gist about Sylvia and Dangote over. Now lets start from the very beginning... Earlier this week, the internet was agog with reports that former beauty queen Sylvia Nduka, was gearing up to get hitched to Africa’s richest man, billionaire Aliko Dangote. The reports are true as Sylvia was actually a share holder in Dangote's Harem. She travels to any country in the world on his luxury private jet. Gets pampered in some of the most exotic hotels and locations in the world. pricey designer labels (bags, shoes, clothes), good measures, pressed down, shaken together and running over, was what Dangote poured into her laps and her closet! When she realized that the hussle was tougher than she thought, She changed her dressing to wearing Hijabs and Burqua even though she hates covering up the Islamic way. But becoming Mrs Dangote no be beans so she embraced hijabs and was seen a few weeks back sweating profusely at a function yet she kept the hussle on all in a bid to con Aliko into dumping others and wifing her up. When that didnt work, she consulted her beauty queen BFF and the planning went deeper . Sensing that the Oshiomhole/Iara wedding would be a good season to pressure Dangote into marriage. The ex beauty queen acting on the catastrophic advice of her friend called Ene, went ahead and leaked the fake news of an impending marriage between them. An act that did not go down well with the very conservative Dangote who allegedly warns members of his harem against publicity. The love struck Sylvia even went further by adding Aliko Dangote’s initials to her Instagram page, calling herself Sylvia Nduka AD. . However, she deleted it after news broke about their not-so-secret whirlwind romance and Dangote became angry and would not take her calls. An anonymous insider added: "She wanted to be Mrs Dangote so bad and she is willing to do anything but this latest stunt has backfired. Dude wont pick her call but she is trying hard and Very soon he will forgive her because they have something special and she lied ti him that she was not behind the leak. The only problem is that she is just a small fish considering the calibre of women who make up the harem. She stands no chance"

The ill-fated Maxima car Dagrin was driving when he had a collision has been abandoned at the Lagos State University premises.Dagrin collided with a stationed vehicle in front of Alakara Police Station in Mushin with his new Nissan Maxima, on April 14, 2010. He gave up the ghost on April 22, 2010. A member of the Students’ Union who spoke to NET revealed that the car was brought to the school as a side attraction for the screening of the late rapper’s biopic, Ghetto Dreamz produced by Ope Banwo in 2011. A former Social Director of the Students Union, Ahmed Jimoh, said Ope Banwo abandoned the car because he could not pay the money agreed with the students’ body.He said. There was a negotiation between the student union through my office that a sum of N20,000 would be paid to the union’S purse before the film could be shown, they initially gave me a cheque which bounced. After then, I tried communicating with Barr. Banwo’s people but they didn’t give me an audience until my tenure elapsed,‘Since then the car has been abandoned inside the school even as I speak with you,’ he added.... The Biopic directed by Stella Damasus's man Daniel Ademinokan tanked at the box office. He was criticized for casting his then wife, Doris Simeon as Dagrin's love interest. |

By: Peregrino Brimah My engineer cousin had called my brother as he had similarly called me sometime after Buhari won the election. He had also told my brother why he was very interested in moving back home. “We can generate electricity from trash,” my cousin had explained to my brother. “We can design cheap H20 generators…” he had said. My brother, who like me is highly industrious – we all were the JET (Junior Engineers and Technicians) pioneers and representatives of our secondary schools back in the day – eagerly relayed the conversation to me. “What do you feel?” he asked, enthusiastically. “Don’t you see the prospects with the opportunity a new and fair government avails?” I pricked his bubble. “Our people will not buy. They will not use.” I went further to explain: Nigerians are locked in stagnation laced with unrelenting and unending, baseless hope. It is no accident we have been serially branded the most hopeful, “e go better,” people on the planet. Nigerians will sit in darkness for years, patiently waiting for the power, “light” to come, rather than purchasing a simple rechargeable fan-lamp, talk less an inverter(+/- solar) system. They will wait for government water, rather than dig a well. Colonized! I went on to cite several other examples including how my Kanuri friends from Borno, who I now regard as my brothers, resigned to me when I swore at them for being cowards-for not bearing arms and defending themselves against Boko Haram but rather watching as one-by-one their loved ones were killed by the cowards. “Yes we are cowards, worse than chickens,” one had admitted. It’s the same reason they put thumb down for Jonathan. They know he stole tens of billions of dollars that would have changed their lives forever, but they are stuck in a state of pestilential consumptive obduration. They have gotten so comfortable believing that so it was, so it is and so it shall continue to be, that they are afraid of change, they even resist it. “Ordinary pencil Nigeria cannot make,” is more than a mantra, it is a prescription; a policy. Do not make it. Do not fix it. Do not change it. This is Nigeria. Simply say, “e go better,” and move on. Who do you think you are? Leave it for the government to do. Don’t challenge it! My brother felt quite disappointed. With a deep sigh, he retired to bed. It is true. Source: m.news24.com/nigeria/MyNews24/Nigerians-do-not-want-progress-20150518 - MyNews24 |

This man badly beaten was arrested in VGC this evening. According to the story by a KD BLOG reader, a driver connived with three men to kidnap his boss, the owner of Victoria Water Services from the airport but fortunately traffic foiled their plans. The lady they almost kidnapped narrated how she had called her driver to pick her from the airport, and she was surprised when some men entered from the back when the doors were supposed to be locked. Continue to read the story and see more photos of the man caught below... As they were driving towards Aja, they found themselves in traffic and as the driver tried to reverse, it hit another car and that was when the woman opened the door and jumped from the vehicle and started screaming that they were trying to kidnap her. People chased the car and managed to pull one of the criminals from the car... and of course they beat him up (the one pictured) and handed him to the police at VGC. Other criminals are presently at large.. : www.kevindjakporblog.com/2015/05/graphic-photos-kidnapper-nabbed-in-vgc.html?m=1
