A Jordanian woman claims a doctor left his mobile phone in her abdomen after delivering her baby by Caesarean section. Hanan Mahmoud Abdul Karim, 36, was admitted to a private hospital in Amman, Jordan, for the operation on April 24th this year. She claims that during the procedure, the doctor left his mobile phone in her abdomen,Gulf News reports. Her mother, Majeda Abdul Hamid, told local media that her daughter gave birth to a 4.8kg boy (10.5 lbs) and as all appeared to be well, she was sent home from hospital. But later, she claims her family noticed her stomach vibrating and she began suffering terrible pain. “My daughter suffered serious pains and could not move,’ the mother is quoted as saying. “I brought her back to the hospital where she was treated but nothing was done for her.” Hanan was then allegedly rushed to the casualty department of Al Bashir public hospital, where X-rays revealed there was a foreign object in her abdomen, Daily Mail reports. She claims surgeons quickly operated to remove the phone. Her case was brought up in the Jordanian parliament, where parliament member Salim Al Bataynah called on the Jordanian government to resign as a result of the scandal. : www.kevindjakporblog.com/2015/05/shocker-doctor-forgets-phone-inside.html?m=1

1. Delaying going to a toilet Keeping your urine in your bladder for too long is a bad idea. A full bladder can cause bladder damage. The urine that stays in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly. Once the urine refluxes back to the ureter and kidneys, the toxic substances can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract infections, and then nephritis, and even uremia. When nature calls – do it as soon as possible. : 2. Eating too much salt You should eat no more than 5.8 grams of salt daily. Too much of salt does great damage to the kidney. : 3. Eating too much meat Too much protein in your diet is harmful for your kidneys. Protein digestion produces ammonia – a toxin that is very destructive to your kidneys. More meat equals more kidney damage. : 4. Drinking too much caffeine Caffeine is a component of many sodas and soft drinks. It raises your blood pressure and your kidneys start suffering. So you should cut down the amount of coke you drink daily. : 5. Not drinking water Our kidneys should be hydrated properly to perform their functions well. If we don’t drink enough, the toxins can start accumulating in the blood, as there isn’t enough fluid to drain them through the kidneys. Drink more than 10 gla$$es of water daily. There is an easy way to check if you are drinking enough water: look at the colour of your urine; the lighter the colour, the better. : 6. Late treatment Treat all your health problems properly and have your health checked regularly. : HEALTH IS WEALTH |
President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has warned Nigerians against expecting too many changes too soon as his emergence as president came at “the wrong time” . PREMIUM TIMES reports that Buhari issued the warning while received a delegation of Northern elders led by Maitama Sule. ''You know that we used to have Nigerian Airways, Nigeria National Shipping Line and Nigeria Railways. Where are they now? Where is the infrastructure?. Now we have invariably inherited all the problems, especially in the north east. I am sure that you have heard about or seen the children recovered from Sambisa forest. Only the children and women are remaining while all the able-bodied men have been gotten rid of somehow. Some have been taken to as far as Adamawa state to be resettled. A generation has been denied education and health care. Infrastructure has gone. ''You can imagine what is happening in the high seas where up to 400,000 barrels of crude oil which we rely on is stolen everyday with the full cooperation of those who are supposed to protect it.The price of oil has gone down and 90 percent of the foreign exchange we rely on comes from that. ''So, you have to convince your constituencies that we have virtually arrived at the wrong time and that they have to temper their expectation with some justice towards the leadership'',Buhari said. #Buhari

A graduate of computer science, Valentine Jegede, has gone missing on the way to his hometown in Kanji, Niger State, after collecting his Bachelor of Science degree certificate. It was learnt that the 27-year-old man had left Kanji on April 28 to collect his result at the North American University, Cotonou, Benin Republic in preparation for the National Youth Service Corps exercise. PUNCH Metro learnt that he was billed to go to the orientation camp of the corps on Tuesday in Cross River State, where he was posted. Our correspondent gathered that on his way back from the school, he stopped by in Lagos and passed the night at his friend’s house in Ijede, Ikorodu. He reportedly left for Kanji around 9am on Monday. The father, Oluwaseun, said his son called him when he was at a motor park, informing him that he was in a bus en route to Kanji. He added that he had been basking in excitement and waiting for his son’s arrival to celebrate the result. He said, “He told me on the phone that he was at a motor park and that the bus would soon take off. “One hour later, I tried to get across to him, but his line indicated that it was not reachable. I became confused when it was evening and I did not hear from him. “I called his friend’s mother, but she was confused too. We have been in darkness since then. We have no idea of where he could have gone to. I just pray he is safe wherever he may be. I jubilated when he informed me that he had collected his result and I promised him a special celebration. He was preparing for his NYSC. The family is in deep sorrow now. Her mother has been crying.” Valentine’s mother, Ronke Jegede, who also spoke with PUNCH Metro, appealed to the public to avail the family of any information that could lead to her son’s whereabouts. She described him as God-fearing and obedient. “He is my first son and they are only two. Please pray along with us for Valentine to come back home safe. I believe it is not big for God to do. He is gentle and God-fearing.” 2,576 total views, 2,576 views today

Stunned customs officials scanned a small item of luggage and found a young boy hidden inside. X-ray images capture the moment the youngster was caught on camera tucked up in the trolley suitcase as he tried to get into Spain. The luggage belonged to a 19- year-old woman who police became suspicious of after noticing she was becoming nervous. They pulled her to one side and, believing she may have been smuggling drugs, scanned her luggage – only to find something much more shocking. An outline of a young boy was clearly seen and officers immediately opened the bad and pulled out an eight-year-old boy. A spokesman for the Civil Guard said: “This could have had a tragic end.” The boy stuck his head out of the suitcase and said, in French, “hello, my name is Abou.” Police are now investigating the circumstances of the strange incident but have already arrested a man from Costa de Marfil on the Ivory Coast who was found to be the boy’s father. He tried to get through the same checkpoint about an hour and a half later, saying he lived in the Canary Islands. It is believed the woman was acting as a carrier for a substantial fee. 629 total views, 629 views today

Late Amaka Igwe’s daughter, Ruby Igwe has openly taken to her Facebook page where he told Nigerian richest man, and ofcourse African richest to please invest in Nigerian football instead of buying Arsenal. Below is what Ruby wrote on her Facebook page…. Do read; Dear Mr. Dangote. Of course you should buy the Gunners. It’s a sound investment to invest in football, I think financially. And of course in terms of reputation, having a stake in a club is epic. And of course you have the cash. That’s indisputable. However, I have two propositions for you. Please buy Manchester United instead. Just because. If you don’t want to, that’s fine. But if you have change, after the Gunners, invest in the football in Nigeria. I can assure you that it’s not only in the UEFA Champions League, or the English Premier League, or La Liga, or Bundesliga, that you will find good soccer. What these leagues have in common is solid financial backing, and solid infrastructure. They have created an internationally celebrated, culturally appreciated, economically viable system. As such, I find solace in my red Man Utd shirt. I watch David de Gea‘s saves in awe, and I want very much to go to Old Trafford. I feast on the history and the statistics that I find about George Best and Alex Ferguson and David Beckham, and I can’t count how many times Manchester United has broken my heart. I digress. If you invest in the football in Nigeria, maybe people will feel the way they feel about Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United; about Enyimba. Maybe my mates will make good money playing for Nigeria’s local and national teams. Maybe watching football and sports live in Lagos and Lafia will become a favourite past time. Maybe we will know more Nigerian players by name and not because of what non-national club they play for. Maybe there won’t be that much traffic every time in Lagos because the stadiums will be packed full. Maybe the clothing and manufacturing industries will be revived by making jerseys and other memorabilia. Maybe students can find modes of expression and survival in sports in general, instead of trying to conform to what they are not. So Sir. Please do Nigeria a favour and invest in the infrastructure of our football. Invest in change. Don’t just donate, in case it becomes pocket-oriented. Don’t make a local investment. Go hard. Go national. Consult people, including football fanatics, and layout a battle plan. Invest in our football and follow your investment until you see the sizeable returns that can and will actualize. Invest in generations to come. Nigeria will thank you.

A House of Representatives member- elect, Abdullahi Gaya, from Kano State, on Monday asked the in- coming administration of Muhammadu Buhari to slash the wages and allowances of the Presidency and National Assembly by 50 per cent. Mr. Gaya, who spoke to journalists at his residence in Kano, said the reduction in salaries would cater for the nation’s capital expenditure. Until his election as a legislator, Mr. Gaya was the Commissioner of Finance in Kano state. “In my opinion I think it will be better for all the elected representatives, beginning from Mr. President to members of parliament, to Ministers, to other Advisors and special assistants, to agree that what we will be receiving is slashed to 50 per cent,” he said. Mr. Gaya, who will represent Gaya/ Ajing/Albasu federal constituency, said Nigerian leaders need to reduce their expenses for the country to have positive changes. “Since we believe the country needs positive change we should therefore accept it as such. The slash in the expenses should continue till when our dear nation gets to execute capital projects. May be from the time we were inaugurated to another two years,” he said. His call came days after a Senator- elect, Dino Melaye, pledged to lead a campaign for the reduction of Nigeria’s federal lawmakers, who are ranked the highest paid legislators in the world. Mr. Melaye also said the government should use the funds realized from pay cut to develop the nation.

There is a new number plate hijacking trend. Hi-jackers follow you to a parking lot, after you leave your vehicle, they remove your number plate and wait. When u come back and drive off, they follow you. They then overtake you, displaying your number plate out of their window as if if you just lost it and they want to give it back to you. When you stop to get your number plate back, guns come out and they take the car. Maybe even take you and your car. It's a very well rehearsed and organised plan and everything happens very quickly. Other motorists may not be aware whats happening as you stopped the car yourself. Pls alert others to this danger!!! Don't keep this news. Spread it. : Please be Vigilant n shine your eye. |
