I didn’t go for the interview. My first interview with them was yesterday at the consular office here in Canada. Time2win: Did you go for an interview at US embassy in Nigeria after the agent got the admission for you? I mean before getting your Canadian student visa |

There is no new school involved in this. I’m presently on a student visa in Canada, studying as well. Went with my confirmation of enrollment, transcript from my school here in Canada. The usa visa consular asked me if i had previously applied to schools in the usa which i said yes. She further asked who did the application for me which i said an agent and specifically asked if i paid the agent which i said yes. She asked the name of the school i told her. She paused for a minute or thereabout and said unfortunately we can not issue you a visa right now because you don’t meet the requirements based on section 214(b). fairheart: The consular specifically ask if you paid an agent and why didn't you to go the school? That you have been refused does not mean you cannot get it. Were tuition deposit required or made to the previous school? Which school is this and what is the name of the new school? Also, do say something about your profile so that those who might have an idea on the forum can further help you.
Goodluck. |

Hello guys, in a bad situation right now. Basically i’m in Canada right now, have been in Canada since September 2017 studying. I had previously considered going to the Usa for study when i got denied at first for my application to Canada. During that process I considered USA. I paid an agent to help with an admission. To cut the story short, i went for an interview for USA visit visa here in Canada, i was denied, the visa officer kept emphasizing about the school I previously applied to in the USA asking if i paid my agent and why didn’t i go to the school. Was denied based on the section 214(b) guys please what do you think. I feel the agent must have paid for my usa admission using a fradulent card. Please guys your intake. |

Yes boss, i must say you are really doing a good job here, i commend you for that. You will surely hear a good news regarding your application soon IJN. jnyuwa02: I agree to the bolded. They are new, just started issuing visas out of Lagos and still favorably disposed towards goodwill. |

It was a paper application. What i did differently was to write a well detailed SOP and i paid my 1st year tuition. These VOs can be funny atimes, after i ordered my GCMS and i saw the main reason for the delay, i was mad with the visa officer. Having your parent has your sponsor with a statement account balance of 14million and i had a personal account of 2million. The VO clearly stated on the GCMS that i wouldn't be able to pay for tuition without having to work hence insufficient funds. These Visa officers never take their time to vet the documents you submit to them. Main reason y'all need to be prayerful. makano: 3 quick questions please? 1. How many times were you delayed 2. was it an Online application or Paper route 3. What did you do differently in ur re-pakaged application that made u get ur Visa within 3 weeks? Thanks |

Hi guys, i just want to make a contribution as regarding some applications getting approved under 4 weeks, i'm a living witness to this. After previous delay, i repackaged and i got my application approved in 3 weeks 5 days and yes it was from Lagos visa office because of the correspondent i received when i got my package back from VFS. A monicker by drhammed mentioned here yesterday that some applications are treated in Lagos, he is very right. I think Lagos VOs do reply to application on time, be it an approval or a delay. Lagos VOs are more favourable in approving applications from the look of things.
In conclusion, no one knows the main reason why they route some applications to different visa offices like Nairobi Kenya, Accra Ghana, Dubai, London and even Mali for Nigerian applicants.
Always remain prayerful so as to meet favour in the sight of the visa officers. Monday is a public holiday in Canada and this is applicable to VFS as well i think, not 100% sure. Happy weekend guys. |

@jnyuwa02 is very right, it was about the same time i applied last year. Processing time was as high as 22 weeks bro and yes it was study permit. I still have a screenshot of it on my phone. Kindly see attached. wealth360: Many waited for long agreed, but be sincere on CIC website did you see anything like 22 weeks for study permit processing time? A VO decision on an application can take more than the official processing time on their website. you no specify which one bro that is what am saying.

I completed my GCE when I was in SS2 2015 (15 Years old then )and left Nigeria since then. I first tried converting my visitor permit to student in Canada as a minor but was rejected, I had to go outside of Canada t applied. I went to LA to applied got rejected twice and came to Nigeria last year got rejected . Now I am trying to put in a strong SOP for the 5th application.
I have opportunity for a US student permit, but really don't like to study in US (more expensive) and with an elder sister studying in Canada it will save a lot for the family to also study in Canada

Boss you have a nice profile. Why don't you go for a PhD that comes with funding, but if you still insist on going for a Masters degree, you shouldn't mention you have a Masters already. Just show your previous and present work experience to cover the gap since you finished your 1st degree. lonelydude: Hello friends.
Pls i am about to write my SOP and would like to solicit your advice on the following:
I graduated with BEng chemical engineering almost 13years ago.
Got MSc Petroleum Engineering 3 years later.
Worked as a Chemical Engineer in a gas plant for one year.
Thereafter joined another company as a Project Engineer managing procurement of oil & gas field equipment (although my employment letter carried Process Engineer as my job title) and worked there for 4 years until I joined another company as a Project Manager.
I have been in my present company for about 7months now as a Project Manager. The projects I manage are Mechanical engineering projects.
I recently got an admission to study MEng Chemical Engineering in one of the top ten Canadian university.
MY CONCERNS: Now I have read about applicants being rejected due to wrong career progression.
My question is: 1. Would the VO see my applying for MEng as a problem since I already have an MSc in another Engineering course?
I really intend to get this Study Permit at first attempt.
Thanks in advance for your response. |

jnyuwa02: 50 percent! You are halfway there! If i may ask, your visa application you did since last year, no response yet ? it’s over 6 months, if i may be right u applied late October or early November. Just curious about the outcome. It’s way taking to long. Visa application doesn’t take that long any more. Nb: i’m in Canada already, I just follow this thread cos i’m helping a family to come here. |

You have good resources to self sponsor yourself and get your TRV. I'll suggest you make the payment for your 1st year tuition to convince the visa officer you are truly going to study and make available $10,000 CAD living expenses for the 1st year in your statement of account. You can use the $5,000 CAD scholarship as the other funds when filling the IMM form. As for the home ties, you can add your siblings birth certificate and also include your parents biodata passport page. If you are working, include your employment letter and draft a good SOP saying you are returning back to work when you are done with your studies. Get a letter of introduction/reference from your place of work, also include your pay stubs/slips (4-6months). Also include any paperwork regarding the investment you said you have. All these serves as good home ties. You also use a co-sponsor that has at least 3m in the account just to show the Visa officer you have funds for the subsequent year of study. If you can gather all these, you'll have successfully proof to the visa officer you are a genuine student and your TRV awaits you. Best of luck buddy..... MichyEhi: Good evening everyone,
I got admission to Uni of Manitoba to study Pol studies,
I want to self sponsor..
I work in financial services...
Don't really have ties to home and have about 11 million saved in my account and some in investments.
My first year fees are 11,000CAD and continuing are about 1000CAD. I am getting a scholarship of 5,000CAD and need to know if the money i have is adequate and the steps to take. I actually cant afford to be rejected.
Please help guys.
Thank you! |

Real reason of wishing to relocate is to seek greener pastures , (una know as naija matter tire person na . Please I'd love European countries like Germany , Sweden , Finland, Norway or U.K. , then U.S , CanadA or New Zealand. My mom is willing to sponsor me. Please what country would be a better option for me? Which country would I be able to go for a masters or PGD with a 1.99 gpa? I have a budget of 3 to 4 million .. I’ll advise you go for another BSc u still have age on your side, that’s a very low CGPA, no western world university will give you a post graduate admission, not to mention of a masters. Sorry for being blunt, I’m just being straight forward and it is for your own good. |
