So when i got to my POE (Vancouver), the immigration officer mistakenly put University of New Brunswick on my Study Permit instead of University of Northern British Columbia.

I pointed his attention to the error and he non-chalantly said "The school on it doesn't matter".

With that experience of mine, i can say

'One can (may) change school at POE.'

It's even simple, we like complicating matters, having changed ur DLI without informing them on ur myCIC account, and u av paid ur school fees to the new skool with the receipt with u at the POE, the immigration officer at the POE will gladly print out ur study permit and tell u to enjoy ur stay in Canada.

I disagree on this, it even clearly stated on cic website, u can inform them on any change in Designated Learning Institute, early this year a moniker here used a college for her application to get her TRV, when she got to Canada she went to another school because the acceptance letter of the school came so late and she wanted to meet up hence she applied using the college admission.

Do you have a pending or approved TRV application? If you do, then you're tied to the very institution you used in applying for the TRV. You may change course (in same school) but you may not change the school.!If you change school, you'll have to reapply for another TRV. - LM

Well said, what'll u now say about South Africa processing time of 16weeks does it mean they receive huge applications as well which i think they don't cos an average South African man doesn't leave his country like the way we Nigerians do and they don't av our population as well.

We wait longer because accra processes application of about 5 countries including nigeria.
India alone has about 3 centres that process their applications.....

Still don't know CIC's intentions, people from other countries especially Indians have been getting their TRVs using PGC why is naija's own different cos I don't think they r much better than us. They av much more population than us with a corrupt system.

That's a Rep. of Guniea number, i guess most paper application are treated in Ghana and they av a calling code of +233********, only if u submitted an online application which can be treated anywhere.

CIC should av clearly stated on their website no more PGC/PGD approvals instead of wasting people's time and money. It's very obvious they wanna treat all masters applicants even b4 treating PGC. May God deliever us.

Meanwhile, I had already started typing this testimony after i submitted my passport. So when I got another passport request, I told God that I wasn't going to change the testimony I had typed & HE should find a way to stamp the passport before they send it back to me.

All in all, the final outcome of my Canadian journey so far is as a result of God's mercy....Gods mercy exceeded my faith, YES I SAID IT.

It's inconsistency from CIC, i advise he shd reappeal, he has genuine reasons when a deadline of 31st was given and u get documents overdue days b4 the deadline. Haba.

No justification from cic for delaying pgc applicants, @dannylng I'm sure ur friend applied for a masters degree program, approximately 5wks. Smh.

Well in some cases u don't receive medical call before u get the refusal mail, no one knows the criteria for the medical call because guys on this forum has received the medical call yet they were denied. So just check the main reason for the denial and act accordingly.

You probably used a phone to open the pdf attachment, try and check it on a system, u'll see the main reason for the denial ticked.

We really need PGC/PGD applicants to come and give their testimony right here on this forum because it baffles me for a VO to delay an application just because u r going for a PGC/PGD, we need applicants to request for their GCMS to really know the main reason for the delay and not conclude that they r delayed because they r going for a PGC/PGD and my last advise is to always apply for a program that is related to ur 1st degree, I noticed most people applying to colleges always apply to study Human Resources Management.

I'm really getting confused here, @lawmerchant said i can easily get a masters admission with a 3.73 CGPA, @snoop4dem also said he got a masters admission for a CGPA as low as 2.9, @blaugrana82 said it is not possible to get admitted with a CGPA lower than 3.75, it is always stated on university's website admission requirement have atleast Grade B, I already got an offer letter from a college, shoud i go ahead with my visa application? People with experience shd enlighten us here.

Well u can try and send them a mail on lagosimmigration@international.gc.ca or accra.immigration@international.gc.ca, make sure u include ur visa application ID in the mail u send them. Best of luck.

I applied online for a visiting visa to Canada and did my bio metric capturing on the 21st of April. I will be traveling to Montreal for a summit where I will be speaking. My flight leaves on the 19th of June.

However, I have not received any mail from CIC requesting for my passport.

Here comes my question, is there anything one can do to expedite the process? The organizers on the summit have tried all possible means to get VAC to fast-track the process. So, please, what advice do you have for me and the organizers, cos a lot of preparations have gone into this summit? Thanks.

Sorry to say this, they treat each application according to their pace. You shd av applied earlier.

Having once worked in one of the new generation banks before, the disparity btw a full staff and a contract staff is much, a full staff in a bank is well paid monthly, they get different allowances like quarterly allowances, they also get paid 13th month salary, while a contract staff doesn't get such only their little monthly salary which is not encouraging because they do almost the same as a full staff. I had to resign as a full staff just because of the mental stress of begging for deposit all over the place.

Kindly state it, u can as well use ur savings account, ur business serves as an home tie, i think u should write just a simple Letter of explanation to touch the grey areas, try and get a Landed/Building asset added to ur documents, besides the invitation letter from ur brother tell him to send u document showing his status in Canada, is he a PR/Canadian citizen, assets over there, recent bills payment, it is very important. Tell ur brother to state in the invitation letter why he needs to see u and ur son after so many years.

Thanks andre99 I am into business and I have my CAC documents tho tax not too intact but I just read I might not include it when I applied for US I stated been married, should I state widowed or single for Canada cause i am a bit confused some say i shld maintain been married so that wount think I want to run so as to show strong ties as for landed property i only have my dads property can I use that?

Good, u add ur CAC documents, also state u r
married no need to lie about ur application, it is not a do or die affair, if ur dad can show u inherited the property u go ahead and use it, just show any huge asset in ur name which u av in Nigeria which u can easily fall back on, also include ur business account to show inflow & outflow.

Good evening ma, it is very possible to get the visa, if u read up previous post, as recent as last month people shared testimonies on getting a visiting visa with a virgin passport, if the person sending u an invitation is a citizen of Canada he/she can include his/her passport, bank statement and any bills payment, then u can add the ffg to ur documents to serve as strong home ties; Building documents, Landed documents, employment letter, pay stubs, introduction letter from ur place of work, if u own a business u can add the CAC documents, u said u av a solid account u also add that, after all this, u are good to go for ur application. Soa from maternal uncle 5m balance
Letter of sponsorship from uncle ( not notorized)
Then I also wrote to confirm my uncle as sponsor
CV, transcript , sop, nysc cert
Police cert,
Letter or recommendation from where I served
And that was all I think . loads of prayer, fasting , retreats.
Just be true with your application and I wish all medical and all trv hopeful all the best. It shall come soonest. My app too 3 months . sorry for the long post .
