Liverpool fans may not admit it but they miss TAA badly. TAA was instrumental in ball-progression and buildup. But people focused too hard on his defending. Bradley was awful in the 1st half in the buildup. He was hooked off at half time. Konaté is looking clumsy this season. Can't pass to save his life. Frimpong is deficient as a RB - better as a RWB but equally maladroit in buildup. So Slot moved Szobo to play RB with overlapping duties and Graven replaced Konaté. Additional reasons why they were relatively poor in possession. Worthy mention: Diaz as LW who was aggressive at 1 v 1s and had mad gravity is now playing for Kompany. If I'm Slot, I'll be worried. Very.

mine3112:I didn't say you didn't deserve your win. You should have even scored before that PK. I'm just saying it wasn't a PK. |
MorataFC:Liverpool couldn't easily beat your press or progress the ball the way they wanted. So neither Salah nor Gakpo could receive the ball enough times in their sweet spot. Liverpool started going long. Using long balls to evade the press so their ball possession was limited. No ball possession = inviting pressure from CFC |
Realtord43:As a double pivot yes. Caicedo can be the holding midfielder while Graven will be ball-progressor. He's more press-resistant, and makes more line breaking passes just doesn't have the lungs, speed and stamina of Caicedo. |
Realtord43:He fits your team better obviously. |
Be careful of what you condone today citing VAR. It might turn around to bite you when it matters.
|
Realtord43:They moved him to CB in the 2nd half because Konaté's head is in RM. Caicedo is a better destroyer, ball-winner, more agile etc. Better PHYSICAL attributes but Gravenberch is many steps ahead of him technically. LFC missed him in midfield today. |
Joao Pedro...soon we'll be having uncomfortable conversations about you. |
Bad decisions galore for CFC on the ball in the final 3rd. Garnacho the chief culprit. |
patrickmuf:There's no agenda. I've been watching LFCs games this season. The most coddled club in the EPL. |
popizaino:TBH he's playing a tactical role. He's not even a RB in this game. He needs to improve his decision making though. |
Caicedobets:my MOTM so far. |
patrickmuf:It's soft but Liverpool would have been given it. |
I have to be honest. Liverpool would've been given that PK. CFC deserves to win this game. |
Android17: If I am conversing with primary school students, I want to know so I can use primary level sentences in the language they understand so I'll be understood. Nairalander: Language is not a measure of intelligence. Professors WORLDWIDE struggle with a language (they don't use) to communicate with the people they're communicating with. Android17: ¿¿¿ Why would a Chinese professor use English to communicate to Chinese students if he's trying to be understood adequately? |
Android17: Who played better between player A or B in XYZ game? Nairalander: Was player A better than player B before XYZ game? What's the correlation? ![]() |
MorataFC:cc Seun, see an example above for why this might be necessary. |
Trevor012:When I said the most spaaaaaaastic posters, I knew what I was saying. That quote was from 2022 by the way. And its because RM had played City & CFC that season enroute to winning it all. |
Always talking emotional nonsense as usual. You can win a game without dominating it. Scoring 3 goals doesn't mean you dominated. You won fair and square. You executed better. That's all.

zeusis:How true. |
I like Reece James. In 2022, City tried to lure him to be Kyle's replacement. His potential was very high no doubts. If he stayed fit & played for Pep, who knows what he becomes? But he's not Hakimi. Don't even waste your time blowing smokey arguments that will only murky people's views but have no lasting impression. A good player is tactically adaptable but a great player becomes the tactics. That's Hakimi when compared to Reece. Seems people don't see how Enrique uses him as ST, RW, CM, DM, RWB, RB in the same game. Whats more? He's like at least 8/10 in all those roles. Come on. Strength, pace, crosses, short passes, line breaking passes, diagonals, pull outs, being press-resistant and most importantly being fit; name it & Hakimi can claim it. Don't get me wrong, Reece has shown similar traits. But he's a 9 as a RB, 8 as a RWB & at best, 6 in the other attributes. There's no world where they are comparable today & even if we time-traveled back to when Reece was supposed to be at his peak, the output doesn't match the hype. Reece is good in many systems but Hakimi is a system on his own. The end. |
Emaprince:Use any data you can scrounge from anywhere to substantiate your first statement. Yeah, you totally outclassed them. The stats say so. That's why you will win the EPL and UCL like you said at the beginning of the season. Should be fun. |
E never reach 3 months since the CwC and CFC fans now unanimously agree that Mendes/Hakimi are better than Cucu/Reece or Gusto? Did my CFC vs PSG analysis not partly depend on their superiority? Why were some of you typing nonsense my way? You people have complained about your CB pairing - same thing I did. Okay so Vitinha is very press-resistant & he proved it yesterday? How good is Pacho as a CB? Did PSG miss him in the final vs Berardo who was lacking confidence and making mistakes? |
TemporaryHansel:Its Amigoss and its not a secret. |
Android17:Later found out he hadn't played in a while due to injury and had only trained with the 1st team 1 day before the LFC game. Granted, I judged him too harshly. |
JobAndVacancies:CwC champions? I refuse to believe that. In Enzo we trust. |
Isa Yuguda meets the description. To some degree, Bukola Saraki but he's not broke and wasn't the CEO of Societe General abi Heritage Bank. I don't know that Yuguda is broke but I know he meets the criteria above. |
JobAndVacancies:Nah, styles make fights generally. CFCs set-up was good for a 1-off match. They've now seen the same tactics won't work against other teams. I'm praying both teams find a way to play again. That has been my secret desire. I want to see something. |
Oh shoot! They've switched from Liverpool so soon. It's still September (I know its October for some). The season is still very long. Rather focus on how teams play & personnel for now. The results are not that important. Remember PSG in the UCL? Or even Liverpool in the league last season? Competitions, injuries, forms, fixtures etc will still play a role. |
