CFC - Club World Champions - remain the undoubted favorites to win the EPL & UCL this season. Next should be Liverpool since the consensus here in July was that their squad is set + they're the previous champions. Arsenal should be 3rd favorites: Eze is a very good player but they're mostly going to play him off the left side which means he's going to be their own version of Jack Grealish; a CAM who wouldn't displace OdG as the 10 or Rice as the 8 so he'll have to be played at LM or LW for the most part. By the way, how many trophies had Pep won when City spent £1 bln? I remember we were told that time that he'd won all those trophies due to his spending. The energy should be maintained. |
Godx:My personal opinion: Pep wants a smaller squad so we're unlikely to replace Savio if we sell him to THFC. Per Rodrygo, he's a better finisher than both Jeremy Doku & Savinho put together but nobody's going to pay €100m (with high wages) for a player that RM consider surplus to requirements. Savinho clearly wants the THFC move because he's on £40k per week & apparently THFC want to triple that. There's also the motivation most Brazilians have about living in London vs rainy Manchester. To that end, I believe we are going to sell him. I'd rather go for Livramento to sign that surefire RB but if we are to get a winger, then let it be Akliouche of Monaco instead of Rodrygo. However, if we were to get him, I wouldn't pay more than €80m for the latter. I'd even say closer to €70m since RM will get desperate towards the close of the window. |
Amigoss:If NUFC refuse to accept the T/R thats another credit to Isak in claiming broken promises. It will mean he was willing to lose money to facilitate his leave but NUFC rejected it. £110m isn't any reason to start any negotiations bros, it is £40m lower than what NUFC say is their valuation of the player. |
Amigoss:Obviously, Atalanta don't want to sell to Inter or maybe they feel some other team can outbid them. Not the same issue with Isak since Lookman's contract potentially expires in 2026 & Atalanta had agreed to sell for €40m. They had rejected PSG in 2024 at €25m so the player is partly right about how he's being treated. Unlike Isak. |
Bluelines69:He needs to hand it in to show he's fully committed to leaving NUFC. He's clearly not & simply trying to hedge just incase his move doesn't materialize. LFC on the other hand are not £150m committed about signing him. That's why they low-balled £110m as their only bid thus far. |
Bluelines69:His current contract was signed in 2022 for 6 years. The new contract discussed was last year not 2 years ago. The DoF that promised him a bump left the club & NUFC are constrained from going that high (close to £300k per week) based on PSR. Isak knows all this. He won't hand in a transfer request because he'll lose out on loyalty bonuses & some salary freeze that are paid yearly probably up to £15-20m a year. However, if he did hand in one, it will give LFC reasonable grounds to bid that amount less than the £150m NUFC want for him. |
Altern8tor:Exactly. Health is important. How good will R9 have been if he didn't have those injuries? Maybe he wins more BdO's than CR7 but less than Messi? Mourinho rates him AFTER Messi for e.g and he has coached CR7. |
Another word for ceiling is PRIME. That's why we compare X player's (for e.g) Maradona's prime to Y player's (e.g) Messi's Prime. So my statement was saying City Academy reports projected that Oscar's prime will be higher than Palmer's. Whether it ends up being true is what time till tell. |
drisham:1. Palmer is currently the better player. I said so. 2. Oscar Bobb's ceiling is higher. I said the same City scouts that watched both for the Academy said so. I'm pointing this out to some of the posters above who probably have comprehension challenges. For context, Messi was already playing in 2007 when Kaka won the BdO over him & CR7. It will be accurate to say Kaka was a better player than Messi in 2007. However, many people already could tell Messi's ceiling (peak, apogee, max potential, upper-limit, zenith, pinnacle, apex etc) was going to be higher. Whether Oscar goes on to live up to it is yet to be determined. Lars Ricken was supposed to be a better player than Ballack ever was but injuries ended his career. Remember Ansu Fati? Injuries did same to him. Many thought he was going to be the next best 10 for Barca. |
Not every goal must have an assist. Know this. Know peace. |
Silentgroper:Nah, this is PSGs first pre-season game. THFC have played like 4 already. Your last sentence still counts though as well as the EPL this season that CFC are favorites for. |
diggz:LOL. Nah, Kbot Lamar from that wack song "BotLikeUs". |
lordfalcao:The difference is, I wouldn't have noticed it if you didn't post for 3 weeks. You're a fan, you're a fan, you're a fan, I get it. If you don't have a fitting response to my post, you don't have to quote me. |
TemporaryHansel:Bros, I no get any agenda vs CFC. I came to give my own analysis. Just like BTC, I could be down 1 week and be up the next week. If I even remotely have any agenda, it's been with regards to Iceman Palmer and I mostly troll him when they hype him beyond his achievements. I've said it multiple times, if I believe Pep is the best manager ever, I can't turn around and keep giving excuses every season when he wins nothing. Blaming the board, the sporting director, the players but never Pep himself. That's like exerting a lot of Force on an object but experiencing no displacement; it doesn't work. These ones want to have their cake and eat it. Call their players BdO but shield them from the expectations attributed to BdO winners. When I'm chanced, I'll come here to rubbish it. PS: This was the post that kept getting removed. |
First, Congratulations to Chelsea and Palmer but why am I getting all these mentions? I've argued that your players are better than you give them credit for, and that Palmer has to win things by deciding them for your team before getting all the plaudits he didn't deserve. Now that he has passed phase 1, will you maintain your argument or concede that you were making excuses for him? Incase the poser is lost, let's recycle the discussion so we can know where things currently stand: 1. If your team is good enough to beat PSG in a final, you're good enough to win the EPL. True or False? 2. Sanchez, Neto, Enzo, Gusto etc aren't the frauds you guys claimed they were - so you won't turn around to blame them when Palmer doesn't live up to the hype. True or False? 3. Maresca is a genius. The best manager ever. So you won't also blame him if your season torpedoes and he is summarily fired. Remember, this is the same way you guys hyped Tuchel after '21 but then switched up to excuse him when he didn't win the EPL in '22. 4. Palmer is world best. Again, shouldn't you expect the world best to will his team to win the EPL? Therefore, if your team doesn't win the EPL, you wouldn't have any excuses - no? What are the terms? Let's have it in writing. |
Ibime:In the most technical sense, yeah, that's the definition. But I think the term has kind of evolved.
|
Leyqute:Vitinha's greatest attribute is his press-resistance. That's why he splits the defense to receive the pass first from Donnarumma when PSG are about to progress the ball. Truth is, Jorginho was also press-resistant but unlike Vitinha who is doing everything you've said above, Jorginho could only evade the press by passing rightly. In other words, he depended on the movement of the players around him. If nobody made the right outlet, Jorginho will lose the ball. In Vitinha's case, even without the right movements around him, he'd simply manipulate the ball out of the press. Harry Kane tried severally to press him against Bayern but it was futile. Enzo is alot like Jorginho in needing movements around him to evade the press. But he's showing that Gundogan tendency to arrive into the box at the right times to score, and if he sees an outlet in the attacking third, he doesn't hesitate to make that pass. He's more like Fabregas but with less of Cesc's imagination. |
Finishius really thought he was a BdO winner ya know. |
Kvaradumbguy. Seems you've been watching Pedro's goal on repeat. |
Lure them out. Let them think they're holding possession. Humiliate them. |
Unlimited22:As wicked as that Abuja land-grabber. |
Dembele & Hakimi still have a goal in this game. |
Fabulous Ruiz for a reason. |
Trevor012:Enrique is a cule at heart. We love Messi. We hate RM. It's in our blood. |
Madrid have been beaten blue-black, you'd think they represented Inter. |
User09:You're not the culprit. Just scan the past few pages. Same way Gooners were making noise. |
Lana1:I just dey bite my tongue. The most self-unaware fans in history. |
Unlimited22:Not in this world or in the world to come. He can legit win BdO in future. He's that good. |
Nuno Mendes. What a player. |
