In as much as this man is been seen as a bad man for his action, I will blame his wife for her action too. Why slap a lady she saw in her husband's car in such an environment? Why not act matually by just speaking her mind out and walking away by allowing her husband get home first and confront him? Two wrongs cannot make a right. She only showed to the world how she handles issues at home and no respect to her husband. The husband too shouldn't have flogged her in public. Both of them acted wrongly.

In as much as we condemn violence in any marriage, from the subjects point of view, no one should just say the husband was at fault without getting to find out from the two. I somehow witnessed a scenario yesterday whereby a married woman slapped her husband in public but the guy never reacted or responded to that, but took a walk after the incidence. There are men who are demons and there are women who are demons too. Violence depends on individuals involved. Most marriages were contracted through live-in lovers kind of relationship, whereby a lady gets pregnant and the marriage is been forced by either party. A lady could be having an accommodation problem and end up marrying the guy who accommodated her. Some marriages has been contracted through sympathy by either side. I had to marry him/her because of what he did for me and not that I loved him/her. At the end, trouble starts coming up in-between.

Domestic violence could be either way. Op just narrated hers, but the guy who is now at the receiving end by public opinion might not be the one at fault. Many women as a result of maybe, the present situation of things in the country could start vetting out their anger on their husband. We pray not to be victims of domestic violence.

OP, you need not to be worried ov er this issue. Your biological parents and some close relations witnessed part of whatever you have done and they consented to it. You lost your Dad but your biological mother and close relations witnessed when both of you agreed to stay as husband and wife. Paper or no paper, you have not committed any sin or done anything to warrant anybody to say you are no legally married, You can go and regularize your court paper since you have the date the court wedding took place.

The only issue here is if you are having problem with your husband and you find his present attitude not normal, or that your inlaws are not comfortable with your person, or you guys have property and your inlaws seem to be a problem, all you need do is to go get your court papers regularized and keep. That is the only problem and a way out.

Unless if your parent's family are complaining and drumming it to your ear that you are not recognized as been married to anybody.Face your family and train your children so that your tomorrow will be better, unless you are thinking about another man out there and you want to run.
