■Wide mood swings lasting from a few hours to a few days, which can include intense happiness, irritability, shame or anxiety
■ Ongoing feelings of emptiness

These are the ones I experience at the moment, whenever I try to treat them it only goes for a while and comes back again

You mentioned that you don't have depression, but the 4 of the symptoms of BPD above are depression-related.

Anyways, before you get yourself all tied up in anxiety knots, I suggest you wait to get a second opinion abeg..

I said I experience most of the symptoms not all. I've live with it for years bt I just discovered it recently based on my personal research

I'm 27 years, I don't have a girlfriend cos even tho I start a relationship I find it difficult to maintain it

Even if I have millions of naira with me doesn't guarante I will be heal of this disease. Its a mental disorder not a poverty disorder

I've just found out that I have personality disorder (BPD to be precise). Though I haven't seen a doctor yet but I came to realise it when I experience most of the symptoms of PD.
Pls I need help on how to treat this illness with or without medication. Right now I can't afford to visit a consultant based on my work and financial issues. Can I really survive with this illness cos one of its symptoms is suicidal thought even though I'm not really depressed. Another symptom I find difficult to handle is the state of always being alone and can't socialize with people. I always sense abnormal response from people I meet on a daily. People i knw be4, I hardly keep contact and then everyone becomes distance even family members.

I can't type all what I'm going through now but I need som1 to talk to either a doctor or som1 with similar experiences.

I don't know why you created this thread. But that's what I'm going through right now. My dad has personality disorder and I'm beinging to experience symptoms of it. Pls help cos thought of suicide just dey my mind

You entered lagos with the wrong mentality.
For starters, you don't go to lagos to enjoy. I remember when i enter lagos in 2020. I'd only 7k extra money apart from my transport money. I knew no body in lagos or the entire south west. I survived.

You can share tips on how you survived and what really sustain you. You said you entered Lagos with knowing anybody. . . tell me how you cope?

After much ups and downs I was able to save up and left Adamawa for Lagos. The journey was smooth except for few encounter on the road (story for anoda day).
I alredi got link up with someone I met on NL here. He assisted me with finding a job. I arrived Lagos on Saturday nights 16/10/2021. I spent the night in the park cos it was late. In the morning I left the park to apapa ajegunle boundary round about to be precise. A friend assisted me to stay there. On Monday morning I spoke with the H'R of a security company and I told her I want to work with them. She invited me to ekeko. After we met and did all the paper work I started working with them as a security guard. The problem I had was the salary was not much (25k) and working hours is hectic ( 7am- 10pm everyday even on Sunday). I had no choice than to leave becos it was the company that gave us accommodation. Working with such hours will leave no room for me to elevate. Now I want to go back again because I'm frustrated over here and depression is really eating me up.


I need some to help with a job with accommodation with better working time no matter how little the salary is.

That's why security agencies have bad blood especially Nigeria police. Set of criminals and their foolish dogs which is the vigilante. Now I'm damn broke

I went to GSM market to get a small phone though second hand. I was with a friend who work as a repairer there so we move around the market with him trying to fix somethings. My friend went inside one shop and I was sitted outside the shop when the useless vigilante attached to the police came in for patrol. They arrest random people and demand for receipt of phones. I was accounted by one, he searched me and found two phones and asked for the receipt and I wasn't with the receipt. He now took me to there waiting hilux.
Long story short, I was leg cuff and was took to jimeta division. When we were at the station the threatened to lock us in cells if we don't call anyone to bail us out. That was how my friend came and I gave him my last card to bail me out (N5000) because I know they won't hear any explanation.
