Jumax28:

Good afternoon, please vfs said my passport is ready and picked up by courier but DHL says they have not picked it up for it was not part of those in the box room. Please I need help.

Hi @Jumax28.

I've not had this experience. However, I think you could make calls to VFS and also track your parcel.

I'll let the gurus advise you on this.

Aissy:
Please I have some questions I want to send my passport on Monday
1. Which is the consent form? Because everything for my biometric is those long slips of paper, appointment letter and the scanned data page of my passport that was stamped that day.
2. How do I pay for the transmission fee? Plus the agent I used now is telling me it’s 16,800 and that I have to travel to Abuja to do it
3. Biko please I really need answers

1. The consent form is a form you were asked to fill when you did your biometrics at VFS Abuja. You need to attach the long slip as well.

2. You can pay the transmission fee when you get to the courier office. Your agent is wrong. You shouldn't travel to Abuja. Just go to DHL or UPS office in Benin, they do all the delivery.

3. About the transmission fee, I just confirmed, I paid DHL #13,800 to send my documents from Port Harcourt.

Congratulations @Aissy.

Indeed, it has ended in praise.

To send your passport to Abuja, you'll need to use a courier service (DHL or UPS).

Attach your Passport, Passport request letter, 2 photocopies of your passport bio-data page, biometrics slip, consent letter you got during biometrics, pay for the courier. You won't need to pay money to VFS Abuja since you did your biometrics there. Also, write your name, address and phone number on an A4 paper.

Add these in an envelope then send through the courier, they'll send the documents to VFS Abuja and also deliver it to you when it's stamped.

VFS Abuja address:
3rd Floor, Plot, Sterling Bank Plaza, 1083 Mohammadu Buhari Way, Central Business District 900211, Abuja

Aissy:
Thank you all so much , I have been staring at my phone ehn like is this for real!!!

My first application was February 20 2021
I got rejected on July 26th 2021 due to personal asset and financial status which when my gcm notes came they said there was a lump sum before the rejection sef I had a PFL about a chargeback because I used an agent and I had to repay the money and sincerely apologize and explain everything.
My second was September 17 2021
I am suppose to be going for winter 2022 in conestoga college for food processing and quality assurance, it’s a year course( I studied industrial chemistry at the the BSC level) but I have already deferred the admission to fall 2022 before my PPR came today tho I still haven’t even gotten a new letter of admission.
So what we did different with the second application was that first of all my dad was my only sponsor in the first application so we made my mum a co sponsor this time( close statement of about 15million for both of them), we attached my dads landed documents and explained the exact lump sum of 8million which they had an issue with( it was a liquidation of a fixed deposit) so we attached the certificate for the liquidation.
Other documents submitted
-My bank statement for my mum and dads for 1 year
-a notarized letter of sponsorship from them
- an affidavit of support from both of them
-landed documents stating how much my dad collects in rent annually
-admission letter for winter 2022
-first semester tuition payment receipt
-professional certification in food processing
-Microsoft certificate
-waec result
-university transcript
-statement of result
-ielts general with band 8
-emedical slip from my first medical
-a letter from a pharmacy I did internship
-my dad’s retirement papers
- my mum’s CAC papers for her business
I think that’s all
I actually used an agent the second time but she was even surprised the amount of knowledge I already had about the whole process and I solely got from here.
I honestly thank God because ehn this time I didn’t really put my mind, I even stopped checking my account for weeks and just decided that it was really my time I will go.
Thank you to everyone here you guys are sincerely good people, taking out time to answer our numerous questions and even giving out encouragement. God bless all of you truly and you all shall speedily receive your own testimony.

Please oh I live in Benin and I did my biometrics in Abuja, I want to send my passport on Monday
How do I go about it?

Thanks so much for the update @Coquette86

Coquette86:
Hi Andy, I'm going through Mexico (Cancun) and I'm in the WhatsApp group. The main things discussed are rerouting tickets from Canada to Cancun. We were also advised to ensure we book our tickets showing departure from Mexico before we leave Naij. We were told immigration at Canada will request to see proof hotel reservation. Some people are linking up as travel buddies or room mates in Cancun. That's pretty much all that's happened. If you have any other concerns I'll try to address them. Cheers!

Thank you for this @Henriie

Henriie:
I will definitely drop details of my journey here.. I really don't get the WhatsApp group nonsense..pardon my language. I mean you got info from here when applying for your visa then time to travel a WhatsApp group is been created..like I don't get it.

All of sudden the people who were active suddenly went off. if I do suspect anyone who is in the WhatsApp group ask Me questions I don't think he or she will like my reply.
That aside I'm so glad I met some Nigerians today at kotoka intl Airport Accra sorting out their tickets as well. The man I met and chatted with on the queue travelling to winipeg do say hello if you're on this thread. I'm glad to know alot of us are travelling through Accra.

Biometrics: June 9th 2021
Eligibility started: September 23rd
Procedural fairness: November 18
BVL AND PPR: December 8

My application was put on hold since September.
It’s been God honestly. I found out about the chargeback through an MP of my province. I came here to tell everyone and people said I was even lucky to have found out earlier. I found out on the 8th of November. I sent an explanation and paid only for me to receive the letter on the 18th. Omo I couldn’t even cry. I was just devastated. I reached out to @IAMTHEGBEMISOLA after reading how he tackled his own and got his approval. Special thanks to him and today I finally got min.

Documents submitted:
Landed properties of my sponsor
Bank statements
Birth certificates and passport data pages of my family

Personal documents:
University transcript and certificate
Nysc Certificate
Letter of acceptance
Birth certificate

I can’t even remember the rest as the agent was the one who submitted the application.

Wow! Congratulations!!

Hi @Perfectyyyyyy.
My Letter of Acceptance, a 4-page document contained the main acceptance letter and co-op letter.
You can send a mail to your school about your co-op letter.

Perfectyyyyyy:
@Andytheo

See below bolded section. We’re you given another separate Co-op confirmation letter or it was just written on your Letter of Acceptance?

I am asking before my program have Co-Op but I was not given a separate letter.

Based on what I have read on this Thread, they don’t always ask for POF at POE, But incase they do, the print out of the Bank statement of your sponsor and the Letter of sponsorship is going to work.

Thank you so much @elenewton

Hi, congrats!!
Either option you asked is fine.
In my opinion, if it's convenient, let them send it to your account (then you print out your bank statement), then they attach a letter stating why they transferred to your account and it's purpose.

All the best man!!

Hi guys.

I really appreciate the work y'all do here. I've been a silent reader and I've learnt so much from this platform.

I'm pleased to say that I got my PPR last week.

However, I have a question.

How can someone show proof of funds when asked at the Point of Entry (POE) into Canada?

All the funds I need are in my sponsor's account. Should I just print his bank statements and letter of sponsorship or transfer the funds to my account?

Please treat as urgent. Thanks.

PPR Alert!!

Indeed God is faithful. I'm so grateful to all the members on this platform that has helped me in my study permit application.

I'll try my best to keep this post short.

The very first thing I did when I began my journey to study in Canada was to take IELTS Academic. I sat for the exam on the 10th of April, 2021 and results came in sometime around May. Thankfully, I had an overall band 7.5. Listening-8.5 Reading-7.5 Writing-6.5 Speaking-7.5.

After that, I started applying to colleges because I didn't get into universities. I applied to Cambrian, Durham, Georgian, Lambton and Conestoga colleges (all in Ontario). Got admissions in all, thankfully.
I chose to study Computer Applications Development in Conestoga to begin in January, 2022.

Then my visa journey started...

Truly, it has been God all the way.
I know my application wasn't perfect but God perfected it.

I studied Chemical engineering and I'm going for a PGCert in Computer Applications Development. Isn't God wonderful?!

My sponsor is my elder brother, no lump sum, no landed properties or company registration. Just the first term tuition was paid ($8,723). I was worried about my family ties but I talked about my love for my family and opportunities in Nigeria upon completing my studies.

Though the application might be very stressful, the wait may seem long, trust in God and He will make everything beautiful in His time.

Indeed, it will end in praise.

@PrinceAdeAde, I can't remember the exact number I reached them on. However, I placed by booking on October 1st (2021). The earliest available date I saw online was 8th of November (IOM Abuja) and 3rd December (IOM Lagos).

I booked for the 8th of November (Abuja) then I called them to reschedule and they changed it to 21st October. Also, they accepted my request to change my test center to Lagos.

You'll be asked to send them a mail with your medical request letter and payment/booking confirmation.

One thing I noticed was that when I got to IOM Lagos for my medicals, some folks booked that very day at the center because they couldn't reach them via phone/email.

So, try and go to their center if you can. I wouldn't have waited 21 days for my medicals if I had known this.

My 2 cents.
PrinceAdeAde:

@Andytheo,when was this and if recent which number do you have that IOM picks up biko

I do not think there is any definite timeline as to when they respond as each application has their different timelines. Some get medical request and PPR same week. For me, my medicals was passed 1st of Oct and PPR dropped November 3rd( that is 1 month and two days later). So all you can do is to keep sending emails to them and praying to God for the speed to remember your application for finishing.

All the best
