Kobojunkie:

Maybe to you it is but to me it is not cause I can not read your mind. If you followed the thread at all, you would know that question is puzzling.

seeing as this thread is based on the letter written by mr omotade and throughout the thread u have suggested (somewhat condescendingly) that the matter should not be treated as a racist issue but rather as a customer service one. do u now see the reason for my question?
Politics / Re: Man Convicted In Nigerian E-mail Scam by angel101(f): 12:45pm On May 09, 2008
ok this report is a bit vague and infact confusing see:

The first e-mails were signed by a woman who claimed her family had been killed in a car accident and that she was dying of bone cancer. The woman said she wanted to pass on her father's $10 million estate to someone trustworthy who would use it for good works. The catch? Money would be required to protect the estate from "confiscation" by corrupt government officials.

In correspondence with the fraudsters, the doctor said he would invest the money in malaria research. The doctor paid out $35,000 in wire transfers before becoming suspicious and contacting police last August.

which actually was it? what was oga doctor sending money for?

BINGO!!! so trying to treat BA as if it were the government is RIDICULOUS and immature. BA is subject to the law even as you and everyone else who visits the country or lives there is. Now if you continue to think along those lines, you might actually figure out more clues as to why BA is not the problem even in this topic.

the statement is directed at those who say its ok to condone rubbish from BA cos nigeria has no national carrier!

Virgin Nigeria does not belong to Nigeria. Nigeria only get's about 20% while the majority still belongs to the Virgin guy. By the way, Chevron does not also belong to Nigeria.

neither does british airways belong to the british govt

Okay, fine. Then take up your complaint with the appropraite authorities. I think it is about time we learned something about customer service. As Nigerians, what stopped all the passangers aboard all the "maltreatment" flights from coming together as a union with proper documentation and forward to the Nigerian Laison office in the UK? Oh I forgot, much of those exist in name only. Why can't this be handled in an orderly fashion diplomatically? Because we always do things the "Nigerian" way with no meaningful results.

What do we have a foreign affairs ministry for? Instead of making noise, letters as far back as 20 years ago documenting "maltreatment" should have been tendered. When dealing with these white people, documentation is everything. Why disrupt an internationally bound flight?

How can you complain of maltreatment and you have no concrete documentation to show for it. Why did your brother not write a letter to his consulate in Britain.

I hate to tell you this. Many places in Nigeria do not have water to drink so I do not see that as maltreatment. As we speak, I am sure your village and my village have no "water"!

no need to make assumptions here dear. i have not said that my brother did not make a formal complain so pls leave that out. secondly wether or not ur village or mine has drinking water is so besides the point i am tempted to ignore the statement but i will humour u. when i pay for a service, i expect to get it regardless of what my background may be!

Since when did British Airways have their headquaters in Alhaji Marsha, Suru-Lere? shocked A Nigerian spokesperson for British Airways based in Nigeria? What kind of a 419 topic is this? Interesting that the so-called spokes man Mr. Ademola Adedoyin is from Mr. Ayo Omotola's village. grin Lie lie peeps! Abi na Amala state all these people come from? tongue What a bunch of busy bodies. Please where are the real white oyinbo Brits? Let them come and tell us what really happened instead of listening to all these amebos here.

It looks like only Nigerians are doing the "defending" and the "regretting" If this topic was important to the British, I am sure Willie Walsh will be on global TV replying all these noise. However the banned culprit remains "banned" for life. If they revoke the ban, they would have to re-instate Naomi Campbell too.

Let us see if the British will go back on their word and unban the "busy bodies" in this whole saga.

What a misleading title. British Airways regrets? You wish!

Dream on pals. No boycott yet? tongue

If I were to choose who to believe in this situation, I will never believe a bunch of Nigerians when I know that they tell too many lies and misrepresent the facts to their advantage. I say I have flown with Nigerians and as a Nigerian myself, I know what I can do do. cheesy Who are you people trying to deceive. Please go and march in Nigeria there where nobody will see or here from you guys. Good job British Airways, keep banning them for life! Glad to know that British Airways has not made a sound in this case or the ones people are claming to have happened in the past.

Where is the evidence of maltreatment I say? Stop telling lies.

Good job Kobojunkie. I say good job! kiss You are really trying for Nigeria. I really appreciate your efforts. Like you see, It is an uphill task. I realy wish you were the president of Nigeria, I would move back in a jiffy. But no hope I see. grin Even moderator job, they would not let you have in peace. cheesy

so even though you got a first hand info of what happened, the only contribution or reply you have is that the man should have sat down quietly and protested in a choirman's voice?oh my lawd, we have a looooong wayto go in nigeria

@trukoments
that was an awesome article, who wrote it and what paper?i have stopped flying british airways like since 2003 ,i mainly go airfrance and thinking of changing to either emirates, maroc air cause they treat passengers a hell of a lot better and you ll get value for your fare

leave the jokers alone. they would not wake up until it happens to them. and by then i hope people will take their advicce and leave them well out of it to carry their cross alone. the selfishness of some nigerians is so apalling!#

i too have stopped flying BA for about four years. my boyfriend too. u get absolutely nothing for ur money. in feb my brother was coming to nigeria with BA. they were delayed on board the plane for over four hours due to technical problems and guess what? not a drop of water were they offered!

i guess its a choice thing sha. some people dont mind paying top dollar and still end up being treated like dirt!
Politics / Re: British Airways Regrets Maltreatment Of Nigerians by angel101(f): 3:38pm On May 07, 2008
@ senator jd
here's the story according to my friend who was on board that plane.

my friend along with his girlfriend got on board the aircraft and was seated about four rows behind the deportee. mr omotade was seated on the same row as the deportee across the isle. shortly after my friend had settled down in his seat, he began to hear muffled sounds like someone was suffocating so he along with many others tried to find where the sound was coming from. they then noticed at least four heavily built police men pressing a passenger (the deportee) down in the chair with something (not identified) covering his head.
the cries of this man was extremely distressing to a lot of people on the aircraft including children who were seated in the row right in front of the deportee. these children were crying (obviously out of fright).
it was at this point that mr omotade got up and spoke to the police officers asking them if it was necessary to use such excessive force on the guy which he feared was endangering his (deportee's) life and distressing the children around, but the police asked him not to worry saying that the deportee was a criminal. many other people including my friend then spoke up and asked for the deportee to be removed from the flight as it was causing too much distress.
my friends girlfriend immediately rang a newspaper (i dont remember which one now) and reported the story. the deportee was then removed. a few minutes later,a crew member came and took away the only two white people in the cabin as well as one black man. thereafter, a larger number of police men returned and ordered omotade off the plane. it was at this point that the chaos began.
the remaining passengers tried to refuse for him to be taken off the plane and saying they too would go off the plane if they insisted on taking omotade away so violently. mr omotade was however taken off the plane and the rest of the passengers (including children) were left on board for three hours without water or food. after over three hours, the passengers were all taken off the plane and put on later flights. my friend was put on a fight bound for lagos via dubai!!! a flight which cost £300 less than the one he was just removed from. (another indication of the rip off we suffer in the hands of these airlines)

I cant see what the problem is with advocating state licences. it will probably be better monitored and managed thereby making more sense. i am aware that acquiring the present nigerian licence require no testing or even personally putting in the application. u just pay someone somewhere and in a couple of days, u get the document!
