An 11-year-old girl, Chinecherem from Uruagu Nnewi, Anambra State who was allegedly raped by a 32-year-old son of her mistress is reportedly died.....

Chinecherem, an orphan and the only surviving child of her parents, according to the source, was raped in the night by her mistress’s son on May 27, 2013 at Uruezi Egbema Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area where she was serving as a maid.
Daily Sun was informed that on the night of the incident, the victim’s madam had travelled out leaving Chinecherem and her son to take care of the house.
“When Ifeanyi defiled her, she started bleeding in the morning. The boy disappeared after raping Chinemerem and it was his father (Ifeanyi’s father) who discovered that something was wrong in the morning and took the little girl to a hospital, where she was crying in agony, touching her private part before she gave up on June 3, 2013,” the source said.
The source said that hospital authorities confirmed that there was a lot of semen deposited in her private part. The victim was said to have lived with the family for seven years and had taken her common entrance to enter junior secondary school before she met her death.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Anambra State Police Command, Awka, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka confirmed the incident and said investigation was still ongoing while the suspect is still at large

I met my husband in a fast food joint some years back, and while we were dating i never knew him to be into women before we married. We had some hiccups as in the family members including the mum did not like me as such. But we went on to fix date and got knot up....

The National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA, on Tuesday disclosed that 3.4 million Nigerians were living with HIV/AIDS, the second largest globally....


The agency's Director-General, Prof. John Idoko, stated this at a Senate public hearing on a bill to prohibit discrimination against persons living with HIV/AIDS. Idoko noted that while the national prevalence stabilised at about four per cent, 13 states still carry higher burden.

He said that the country was behind target in several important indicators, affirmed that one of every three people in need was currently receiving treatment. Idoko, who said only 18 per cent of HIV positive women receive prophylaxis against mother-child transmission, noted that more than 40 per cent of HIV positive persons do not know their status.

Senate President, David Mark, who declared the hearing open, called for an end to stigmatisation and discrimination against persons living with HIV. Represented by the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Abdul Ningi, Mark said the citizens should be educated more about HIV. He said, "It is important for all to be educated to know that HIV is just like any other disease. Once identified, all a sufferer needs to do is to access treatment and maintain a healthy lifestyle. "Infected people are hiding under common diseases like diabetes because of discrimination.

They will not tell you that they are HIV positive for fear of being discriminated against in their workplaces. "That somebody is infected does not mean he is not good or morally upright person or that he should be denied employment or barred from his social networks. "HIV is a disease that can be contracted both intentionally and accidentally."

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Health, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, noted that the HIV pandemic poses a big challenge to health and development across the world. He said, "In the countries that are worst affected, including Nigeria, the impact of HIV/AIDS have eroded decades of developmental goals and gains, stultifying economies and destabilising societies.

"There is no doubt that HIV is expected to continue to be a leading cause of mortality and morbidity in many countries and population, including Nigeria. "We must begin to be proactive in the implementation of action plans that are workable and friendly, and advocacy must be carried out at all levels of the society. "HIV poses a serious obstacle to the attainment of decent work and sustainable development and its effects are concentrated among the most productive age group.

"HIV problem has been made worse by the violation of their fundamental rights at the work place, schools, communities and the larger society on the basis of real or perceived status, particularly, through discrimination directed at persons living with HIV and AIDS."

Emotion ran high, Monday, at the Bar Beach Police Division, following revelation by a Primary 5 pupil of how her 57-year-old father had been having carnal knowledge of her in the last three months.....

The primary school pupil during interrogation said her mother brought her to her father after years of separation, adding that since the sacrilegious act began, her father had been giving her N200 as pocket money to school.

The matter, according to Police sources, was immediately charged to the Igbosere Magistrate Court, from where Ikoro was remanded in prison custody until his application bail would be considered.

There was drama on Saturday night at the Nanyuki Police Station after a police officer decided to take a commercial sex worker he had arrested to his home and had sex with her instead of locking her up in cell....

In an unprecedented show of love and brotherliness, the Muslim community at Barnawa, Kaduna metropolis, yesterday worshiped with Christians at Living Faith Foundation, Chapel of Grace, with a call on Nigerians to love one another for peaceful co-existence.
In his address, the Muslims, led by the District Head, Alhaji Mohammed Kabir Zubairu said that they decided to worship with Christians so as to strengthen the bond of unity among them.
While calling on the government to bring an end to the persistent violence in some parts of the country, Zubairu noted that the church had donated Rams to his palace during Sallah festivities, adding that God created both Christianity and Islam for peace, not violence....

He said: “In my district Barnawa, Muslims and Christians are all living in peace as one family. I am a Muslim, but I believe Allah created Islam and Christianity for peace, not for crisis. Attending a church service today with some of my subjects who are Christians has nothing to affect my religion, but it will rather strengthen unity among us.

“This church has been giving us the biggest rams during Sallah festivities. I and my cabinet members will continue to preach peace. My district within Kaduna metropolis is free of crisis; we are living in peace with one another.”
In his response, Dr Peter Jiya, who is the Resident Pastor of Living Faith Foundation, said the church would continue to co-habit peacefully with non- Christians.

Have you ever wondered what your eyes say about you? Well apparently, the “Brown Eyed Girls” out there have been deemed more trustworthy than those with blue eyes, according to a new study published by Charles University in the Czech Republic....

The study tells us that participants looked at faces of women and men and were asked to “rate their trustworthiness” only by looking at their eyes and face shape. Many felt those with brown eyes to be more trustworthy than those with blue, but eye color might not be the defining factor.
For men, it mostly came down to face shape: participants said they would trust men with round faces and large mouths more than they would trust men with narrow faces. For women, the shape of their faces did not affect the results the way it had for males. Interestingly, when shown identical male faces with different colored eyes in a separate study, participants expressed they would trust the men equally.

The conclusion was that facial features associated with brown eyes are what makes someone appear more trustworthy.
So the questions remain: why are men judged more on the shape of their face, while women are judged more on their eye color?
