Portable should sort out his life and allow someone else do what he chooses...!

Peaceful protest is the inalienable right of every citizen in a Democracy.

If protest no hungry you, lock up! Don't attack or discourage others interested in doing so.

You are a fool.a big one at that.you mean, the government should continue siphoning the common wealth and make people hungry and poorer, while those who are sponsoring the protest should use the money to do what the government is meant to do.use your head
Okay... Let me just assume you didn't read my post well.

...It can't be that a graduate (I assume you are one) can't tell the difference between "Protests" and "Anti-protests".

So, I will advise you to breathe, calm down, read that paragraph again, and APOLOGISE! cool

Sigh... I can now see why FG is scared of nationwide protests.

I doubt any protest in Nigeria can ever truly be peaceful.

One way or the other, kasala must burst.

God works truly!

You people want to cause chaos and fire in this nation because you think tinubu is a magician that can remove 16 years of pdp corruption for 1 year in office?

Keep foolish yourself and your household!
See how stylishly sidestepped Buhari's own 8 years of irreparable disaster...! grin

Even when you know Buhari's 8 years were 5 times worse than PDP's 16 years...

But shame no gree you talk am, since Tinubu’s hand is in it too.

That's disrespectful coming from VDM... He should be more careful with his Choice of words.

Meanwhile, all the Billions being spent in the name of Anti-protests, won't such funds have been better spent solving some issues being raised by the protesters?!!

Everything this government is doing simply shows they lack direction, and are just desperate to hold on to power for their personal benefits.

They are simply telling the world that they are really guilty of what the protesters are protesting about.
Politics › Re: Yobe Youths Distance Themselves From Tinubu Solidarity Rally by Angelfrost(m): 1:22pm On Jul 29, 2024
nairalanda1:
More like...what's in it for me

Most Nigerians rely on a complex system of patronage to survive, which is dependent on (not always, but mainly) tribe and religion.

IN 1966, the five majors struck. Within 24 hours, everyone hailed them and called them heroes...even the North. Within a week, when the dust settled, the North realized that most of its leaders in the tripod leadership were gone.

The coupists were patriotic NIgerians who actied in the interests of their country, but the coup also wrecked the delicate patronage systems that existed at the time. That led to crisis, and eventually to war.

(Remember that the US removing Saddam was a good thing, they removed an oppresive leader, but they also removed a vital controller of some of the violent thugs and tendencies in the region. And they regreeted it. Same with Ghaddafi, removed a brutal dictator, but also removed a complicated system of checks and controls that kept the violence in the region down, and led to disastrous consequences).

The same thing is happending to day. That is why we can never have a unified people's revolution in Nigeria. Because at the end, there are too many delicate patronage systems that would be upset. That is why the people telling us not to protest now were saying the opposite in 2012, or the people who are now protesting were quiet in 2020, and 2012. Nigerians are in it to preserve their precious systems of patronage, and if things get tipped over, it means war.

And if we split Nigeria, the same thing is going to happen in the new countries. Plus we are not an industrial nation, so we don;t have enough jobs and money for everyone, and that is why those patronage systems have become too too important (IN AMerica, while they exist, a rich businessman is going to employ a guy from a poor background...if the guy has the skills he needs. He won't employ his nephew or his friend's son in that position so long as their skill set is not up to it).

It is not due to bigotry...in my opinion, we are not too bigoted. (I spent a large part of my life in the Muslim North and no one told me, as they did in Sudan to non muslims nentering the bus, that the slave knows its master. Yes, that's a crude bigoted slur used by some sudaneese against other sudaneese. With attitudes like this...). A Nigerian wants to preserve the system of patronage, because it is how he or she survives. It can be broken, but, as seen in the begining of the old Soviet Union and the PR CHINA, it means a prolonged period of crisis, and destruction before things get better...and no one wants that.
Well analysed!

Salewa97:
Hunger protest in Niger State? This is just another avenue for chaos.

When will we learn that protesting without a solid plan only leads to more suffering? Instead of channeling energy into destructive demonstrations, why not engage with the government and demand real change? Protests that turn violent only exacerbate the problem and put innocent lives at risk.

Nigerians should be wise enough to see that protests without purpose are a waste of time. Hunger isn't solved in the streets; it's solved in the boardrooms and through policies that uplift the people. Let's focus on constructive dialogue rather than chaos.
Constructive dialogue! Engage with the government!

Lol!

These only happen where actual democracy is practiced.

When was the last time we had a mere Presidential address or better still a Live Media chat?!!

You think these hungry people can dialogue or have meaningful discussions with the gods (yes, gods) they 'elected' into office?!!

If engaging with government and dialogues where common place in this country, would there be protests?!! Would your president take rash economic actions without consulting the people?!!

Are the yearning and welfare of the people factored in before actions are taken at the top?!!

Since protests calls started, we have had more words and actions from this same government than when they got into that office! Why?!!

Suddenly, we now have more military and police presence everywhere!
DSS is Suddenly all over the place!

Where have they been all these while that farmers and travelers have been maimed, kidnapped and killed all across the nation?

Please, learn to be objective and honest... Speak truth to power at least once in your life!

Nah... Fuel Subsidy can't be back (though it's still technically partially on). tongue

What needs to be urgently addressed as a matter of emergency include:

1. Insecurity: this is the root cause of food shortage.

2. Food distribution

3. Industrialization

4. Corruption and Wastage

Mr. President needs to get off that high horse and come down to the level of Nigerians via the state and local government leaders.

The answer is simple.
These idiots know very well that Obi won that election so any time they remember what should have been, they get delirious.
That's not smart at all.

The more attention and attacks against the man, the more they draw people to his side, especially in the face of their poor leadership.

The best response to the harshest critics is SUCCESS!

They should properly channel resources to improving the nation all round... Time is ticking out on them!

Peter Obi can't be the headache at this point... He isn't standing in the way of good governance.

This obsession with Peter Obi is not normal at all...!

The nation is on the brink of economic collapse, and a whole Presidential special adviser is obsessing over a mere "lightweight" policitician!
