casualobserver:That's because we don't have a culture of employing, appointing, and promoting people strictly on merit. Over 90% of employments and appointments into key areas and positions are based on nepotism and favoritism. Compare these to private organisations like Banks, Telecommunications, Oil companies, Drug and food establishments, etc. If such practice in the public sector is radically changed, you will see a better nation with better leaders rising up. Nigerian Public Sector is at the core of the nation's rot. |
Throwback:You already know the answer to your own question but ethnicity won't allow you face it! Only a cluelessly incompetent leader without foresight will appoint and even condone incompetent individuals around him. |
CyrusVI:If you want to check the temperature (quality) of an organisation, put the thermometer in the mouth of the Leader. - Rick Warren It takes a clueless leader to appoint equally clueless underlings. A good leader with foresight and vision won't touch poor instruments for any task at hand. That's why Obasanjo succeeded from 1999! His vision for Nigerian demanded he picked the best hands and brains for the job regardless of their political interests. |
It has never been this bad at any point in this nation's history. Not even during the Civil war. Pdp messed up, but apc has successfully retarded this nation by several decades. There can be no magic going forward... Forget prayers and wishes! Nigeria might already be financially and economically DOOMED! ![]() |
OCHKESTINE:Keyword is "IF". ...And that is a big "IF". As it stands today, the nation has been successfully polarised by the antics of the ruling party. Dividing the nation at every chance since they took over was aimed at preventing resistance to their poor governance. |
Good...! Everyone is doing his best to dissociate from the protests. Let the hungry and frustrated take to the streets. While the overfed and well taken care of observe from their homes. ![]() |
No cause for alarm abeg...! Most Nigerians won't participate in the protest. Only a truly united nation can bring her government to its knees. |
Clown! Shebi it's local mercenaries that have been terrorising and killing people all over the North?!! Clueless IGP under a clueless administration! |
Lame and silly excuses...! 1. Tinubu had more than enough time to diagnose Nigeria's problems and pinpoint areas/course of action. We are talking complete 8 years of preparation prior to Emilokaning about for that crown. 2. No one compelled him to pick the names and people he chose to oversee critical positions like security, power and finance. If he was serious about salvaging the nation, he would've picked the right people, like Obasanjo did in 1999. 3. The first step to succeeding in any leadership position is to set the right examples by matching every policy with personal and cabinet action. Tinubu hasn't shown a single example that he means to salvage this dying economy from corruption and wastage. |
Goodnewsforlife:Are you saying only Yorubas, Northerners and Igbos reside in Lagos?!! Already Ohaneze, Ndigbo, Alaba Internal market traders, and other top Igbo business people have distanced themselves from the protest. Peter Obi and his group have not made a single comment supporting the planned protests. Yet, you choose to persistently point fingers at them and drag them into it. Why?!! Igbos are largely the main tribes making the least noise about this protest (I researched this). They haven't made even an inch of the noise made by Northerners and other regions, but they are being dragged by Reno and Tinubu’s men...! Why must everything be hung on their necks?!! |
adams123:I have held managerial and leadership positions since secondary school till date... Never felt the need to touch a dime. It all comes down to upbringing and breeding. Sadly, I can't say the same for most of my fellow young leaders and managers. We need total orientation as a nation and as a people. |
Sponsored groups are calling and organising for protests, while government-funded groups are 'pulling' out of the protests...! ![]() Nigeria is a comedy central abeg! ![]() |
Great one...! Just hope imbecilic miscreants like Ekpa won't target these structures for destruction under the guise of protest. Any protester that lays a finger on public structures or amenities should be shot on sight, and the security agents should shoot to kill! ![]() |
lexy2014:Brother, na the wahala be dat! ![]() |
Scrap this waste of one year, una say no way. The day I found out the millions zonal and state coordinators of this NYSC pocket every year, I shook my head and smiled. The budget those people submit for feeding corpers will shock Devil himself! Millions are released for feeding, but over 70% is embezzled without question. Corruption has buried this nation permanently. No hope in sight! Just fear Nigerians!!! |
Any nation actively at war or fighting civil war will surely have their young male population decrease massively compared to women...! Same can be said for Ukraine, Somalia, Libya, Syria, etc. |
Everybody just dey pull out of protest...! Y'all are pulling out of protest you never organised, joined or indicated interest in. What I expected you idiots to have said is that you are "distancing yourselves" from the planned protests. ![]() |
That's the least of the problems of the average citizens...! When they are done with their dick measuring, they will sit down and get back to work exploiting Nigerians. |
Lol... Anytime I see that title "SA", I just know someone has been given a license to collect free salary without much productive work. ![]() SA is the number one Ghost worker position in this 3rd world nation. I hear say some SA even get SA and PA! ![]() |
Sigh.... The way Nigerians drive ehn. ![]() That's why we are always praying for "Journey Mercies". Ridiculous prayer point you don't hear among citizens in nations with serious driving laws and regulations. |
helinues:Lol... He is actually repeating what most Igbos have been saying! Most Southeasterners have since washed their hands off any form of protest. This has nothing to do with support for Tinubu’s administration! This is simply to indemnify themselves from blame by those that have relegated the mass protests to ethnic war. Personally, the protest will fail woefully because most Nigerians are not yet ready to unite about anything! That's the joy and security of corrupt and poor leaders: A divided nation can never checkmate them. ![]() For further reference, see this comment above: Beremx: |
Then approach them... Maybe quit being so stuck up and unapproachable in the name of Spirituality. Besides... How many of the church boys don chop belleful for this harsh economy?!! |
NyamiriSlayer:Agreed! So, when will these gallant officers start using terrorists and bandits for target practice?!! Abi those ones are not bastards! |
Sigh... They have 4200 Policemen to draft against protest, but they lack officers to curb insecurity in the same Abuja! Nothing really makes much sense in this country! |
Sigh... Was the video necessary?!! I encounter at least one of such unhinged individuals daily in Nigeria. Any small thing, una done open channel for YouTube! ![]() |
Mtchewww... Your stay or exit from any party is of no real relevance to most Nigerians. Many Nigerian politicians overestimate their importance to the nation. I really don't know why! ![]() |
I remember how my Geography teacher (blessed memory) used to tell us how he would never live in most parts of Asia due to them being "disaster-prone". He talked extensively about the "Pacific Ring of Fire", and how Asia as a continent is a huge magnet for weather-based natural disasters. This universe sef...! ![]() |
Well, he must have been very GOOD to them...! ![]() ...How you interpret the word in bold is not my business. ![]() |
Tayorshd87:1. Push for and influence the Legislative implementation of Federalism and Decentralisation. 2. Lead by example by: - banning foreign medical trips - cutting salaries and allowances of elected and appointed leaders by at least 40% - declaring all assets and demanding that all appointees do the same or resign 3. Working out a workable security plan to be implemented within 2 weeks nationwide! 4. Working with NOA and Ministry of Information to enlighten all Nigerians about the true state of the nation's finance and the steps to move her forward! This is something called TRANSPARENCY! 5. Making all official vehicles for elected and appointed leaders locally manufactured ones, and showing open support for locally made goods. Etc...!!! |
EponObi:Thanks, though the condescending remark was needless and childish. Almost every "inspector" of roads and projects in Nigeria does that. I simply wonder at the constant need for the ceremony and grandstanding. ...And you can engage a community without all that pomp and pageantry. |
Nice one...! If he is merely inspecting the progress of the road construction, why the need for microphones and cameras?!! |
IyaTola:He is hustling to feed not go to jail! ![]() |
