His right leg was reportedly amputated on Thursday.
Recall that the ‘Village Headmaster’ actor, had been battling diabetes for years with no treatment because of lack of money and had been lying critically ill with one of his legs set for amputation in order to save his life.
While Alabi had called on Nigerians to support him, saying he did not want to die, renowned actor and movie director, Paul Julius, among others, had urged well-meaning Nigerians to come to the actor’s aid financially.
According to Yoruba Movie Gist, YMG, doctors advised that the leg be cut off so it won’t affect other parts of his body. Our Veteran Actor's foot finally AMPUTATED.....I've laboured through thick and thin to save the life of Uncle Tunde....assisted vigorously by the indefatigable Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, Mr. DON PEDRO AGANBI and through the contributions of a few spirited colleagues and fans, we were only able to manage to keep him alive but not with his full body as our once vibrant UNCLE TUNDE ALABI loses his right foot today at General Hospital, Lagos to Diabetes Mellitus. Now he's faced with another battle for survival.....Expensive drugs required to heal the amputated leg......no home to return, no money to afford one as his ailment has suck up his entire finances. We have done our best... ...What would you rather do to assist him....just put something in his account no matter how small and the Lord will reward you abundantly. Thank you.

Politics › Osinbajo, Fayose Agree On Need For Airport In Ekiti by angeltolly(op): 8:40pm On Oct 21, 2016 |
Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo says he shares the same view with the people and government of Ekiti state on the need for the federal government to establish an airport in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. He explained that this has become a necessary project in wake of the ongoing development across the state. The Vice President was speaking on Friday at a forum in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, where he stated that the establishment of an airport in the state will boost the states’s socioeconomic development. Governor Ayodele Fayose had earlier in his speech asked the federal government to include funds for the airport project in its 2017 budget. He added that his administration was ready to provide all the necessary support required to achieve the project. Past administrations in Ekiti state have attempted to ensure the establishment of an airport project, but none has been successful.
