Even in this harsh economy, has any politician come out to cry lack of salary? This is because their two time salaries can carry them all through the year. Twelve complete salary of an average worker cannot still meet his needs and yet most states still owe them and not the politicians.

I will bet both my balls that if political offices are on the same salary scale like labour and their are stringent laws in place to kill public office thieves, it is most of us in Nairaland that will be contestants for political offices instead of shouting Sai Baba Atikulating.

I agree with you, the economy has to be diversified, even with the oil boom jonathan still borrowed, so the borrowing would have to continue till we can fund our budget by ourselves. if the president refuse to borrow, we would move from recession to depression and even oblivion if we are not careful.
borrowing is therefore not the problem but is the borrowed money being used well? and diversification is the only way forward.

From arguments and counter-arguments, it's now clear that Nigerian youths will forever be manipulated by these old politicians. These old men will rule and still pass the mantle to their family members while the youths will still hail them. Most youths of today have a begger's mentality. They don't think beyond their immediate needs.

It's just sad how Npower is used to capture the minds of youths. A government that refused to agree to raise minimum wage to 30k but is contended to bribe youths with it just for their votes.

After Npower then what? Some of these youths will still fall back to 18k jobs.

I know some of these youths have never had a 30k per month + a tablet job but at least they should be able to see the fraudulent nature of this scheme.

This government is a government of deceit and should be voted out. I am not saying it should be voted out and replaced with another fraudulent one but with one with a clean record.

Why won't they when they went into militancy due to poverty. Since this government pays them without fuss for them not to be criminals, one idiot must come to defend it.
