Akannitommy: I feel SOWP applications are not prioritized at the moment. There seems to be alot of drags on this type of application. Has anyone who recently applied for SOWP for their family after arriving in Canada (as international student) got approval or got GCMS notes that indicates some form of activities on these particular application(s)? My family appled about 2 months ago, upfront medical passed within 4 days, biometric completed and updated, but eligibility has not shown started since then. Anyone - or know someone - with something different than this? Some students are getting it ... the study permit and spousal open work permit approval at same time . I always see that on nairaland student visa tread |

SoFaithly: Jesus, remember you said “it is NOT GOOD for a man to be alone”? therefore, I stand by your word, cause there to be commotions of approvals, specifically on this platform before the end of this midst of the year July, for the sake of your people that are trusting you to reunite with their spouses, Jesus, turn every policy and in their favor, because I know that the heart of the King is in your hands. Thank you my father, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
NB; I already told God I want my wife’s visa approved before the end of this July, I don’t know or have an idea how he will do it, I just know he WILL DO IT, and all eyes will see it and hear it here. You can enroll in this faith school too! AMEN....,......Amen.........AMEN |

Eilenora: Guys I need clarification about something, the visa they will put on the applicant's passport, will it be the TRV and then they get the work permit upon entry? If its the TRV, will the tenor be the remaider of the time on the applicant's passport, or the remainder of the time of the spouse's study permit as in my case. I ask because my permit expires december, which is when my passport expires. I am currently in the process of getting a new passport and filing for an extension of my study permit. The question is; if I am unable to achieve all this before hubbys application comes out, will it affect him? He just applied for a new passport so he has 5 years on it. Will he be given a TRV with the 5 years and then when he gets to POE, he will be given a work permit with the length of my study permit. Hopefully my application for an extension would have been out by then. Hopefully my questions make sense Yes is TRV Ur work permit is at the point of entrance Ur TRV and work permit will be attached to that of the principal applicant you can't be given any work permit beyond the period of stay given the principal applicant But it easy to extend or renew if the need arises |

[quote author=aramdebla post=103033208]Hi Nairaland, please I need your advice. My spouse is currently studying in Canada, I applied for spousal open work permit since January but the waiting time is frustrating. However, I have a sibling in Canada who is a permanent resident. Do you think the best way to expedite visa processing is to contact my sibling in Canada to fill the statutory declaration form which is for extended family member since she is a PR holder. Although, the work permit application submitted states I will be joining my spouse in Canada. Basically, i have two relatives in Canada. First is my spouse who is classified as immediate family member while the other relative is my sibling (extended family member). My question is that which address in Canada will i specify in the statutory declaration form if am going to eventually fill it, i mean address i will be staying while in Canada. Should it be my spouse's address? Or my sister? Is it reasonable for my sibling to fill the statutory declaration form since she is a PR to make things faster even though i didn't reference her details in the application submitted.
Please I need your advice. Thank you.[/quot
Hunn honestly is frustrating If u are not emotionally stable u can even be sick With everything find something to keep busy as for me i engage myself in small farming which I plan to do personally the wait is almost over...as the country is opening up I don't advise you introduce information that were not previously given to expedite the process and at the long run it might become an issue.
Just hang in dere the strength that took us dis far with see us through...I have been waiting since December. |

Stonehenge83: Based on our assessment of your recent enquiry, we cannot process your request as you have not provided sufficient evidence that you meet an exemption criterion and/or that your travel to Canada is non-discretionary, per the travel restrictions implemented to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID‑19) in Canada.
Even though you do not meet an exemption criterion and/or your travel has not been deemed non-discretionary, your application will now be put on hold until after the travel restriction pause has been lifted.
Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada.
Sincerely.
Good afternoon house, this is what I got as response from IRCC today. How do I go about this? Anyone who can help? I will really appreciate. What kind of visa class did you apply for because dis response is only common with visit visa. |

I remember that I didn’t submit work reference letter cos I submitted my application during lockdown. I only submitted my salary account statement of account, payment stubs and my trade certificate of competency.
Now my reference letter from my employer is with now which I want to raise a webform to submit. I guessed that is why my eligibility was recommended for interview or should I wait until IRCC requested for ADR Congratulations on advance It means they are only waiting for a senior officer to give recommendation of approval Recommend interview is a very good sign of visa approval |

Eilenora: Hi All,
International student here with 2 kids (they are American so dont need visas)
Used them as home ties alongside hubs but still ended up going with them. Applied for written authorization for them but it didnt come in as at when we were travelling. Took the chance and today we are here. Landed Dec 29 2021. Applied for Hubs (he submitted in Nig) March 15 Biometrics completed March 19th Upfront medicals submitted with application Medicals updated to pass after several emails and webforms May 19 Background check ongoing Eligibility yet to commence Applied for written authorization April 21 No update till date
Contemplating sending them an emotional email from here. Has anyoe done that and has a template to share?
I am honestly tired, it has not been easy being with 2 kids and schooling at the same time. Getting a job is more ambitious than reality. The rest, I guess we all in d same shoes so u feel my pain.
It will end in praise It is well, God will see us all through. |

maziude: This is totally dependent on the VO that would handle your case. While some vo might be generous some have no joy (because you folks presented the opportunity to them).
Find an immigration lawyer or wait for a year before you apply.
In fact once she get to Canada, let her look for an immigration lawyer and narrate to them. They would advice accordingly.
PS: She shouldn’t have said no. There are other things/people she could have used as home ties. In fact , once a married person is applying for study visa, the expectation most of the vo’s have is that their family will join them. I am sure she would have still gotten the visa even if she says you guys are coming with her. Wao ....that question does not need any lawyer It just imply they are not accompany her presently Most ppl who are not applying for the family together has to say no because if you answer yes you are expected to attach all the family members application together. |
