Dont you get what he's saying. We black nations as a whole has to wake up and be successful to end this racism crap.
In summary you say African Americans and nationals of other European countries with historic African decent should stay silent, keep getting wasted, dehumanised, killed and racially abused while they wait for a black nation(s) in Africa whom they have no knowledge of to wake up and get RICH?

If this is a simplification of what he is saying. I dont want to get it.

"Also in India, students of african descents are also persecuted."

lol, Back in 2009 when i was studying in India, There were total 14 Black students (in my class alone), we were never persecuted.
BTW when you will sell drugs and scam people, you are expected to face some backlash from locals. If you are genuine student who indeed went there to learn, enhance and make carrier then you will live lovely and comfortable life but if someone will go there on Student visa and start making "FAST MONEY", then dont blame foreigners.
I am really happy you didnt experience that. That line was from The Guardian. I'm sure research was done on that before it was published there. And again, they say blacks, Nigerians arent the only blacks. There are black Indians too. Might I also add, the punishment for dealing is not anti-black Racism.

Caucasians collectively are a successful race and get respect where ever they go. Even Arabs who are stereotyped as being all terrorists get way more respect anywhere than blacks alongside Indians and Asians. You cannot threaten a Japanese American and tell him you are going to deport and send him back to his country. Japan is mini heaven on earth but you can't say the same for Americans of African descents. Most of Africa is a shithole.

If Africa was filled with developed countries with high standards of living, there would have been a mass migration back. You can't cross the Sahara desert, cross the Mediterranean sea, die, and get sold into slavery and expect others to have respect for your race. It cannot happen.
You first need to understand the difference between African-Americans and African Immigrants. And like wise Asian-Americans.
By definition these lot have had generations on generations of their lineage residing in the US to make it almost impossible to trace country or roots.

You cant expect an African American to migrate back to a continent he and his generations before have never known.
African Americans that have been profiled and killed in the States were not desperate as you claim thus did not leave Africa through this "Sahara and Mediterranean" crossing you speak of as they have been there for years - another reason you need to understand the difference between African Americans and African immigrants.
Not that it matters when you arrive there as you are just another person of color.
Even jamaicans (black) suffer racial profiling in US. Did they too cross your Sahara desert or have a disaster class as a country?

Again. South America by nominal GDP used to be poor even now just above Africa by a 1000 billion usd (wikipedia not me) But even then, the ones in US were never racially slurred harassed or killed because sha they have white skin. Even when their race was popularly known with drugs.

Oceania too has a nominal GDP below africa, we dont hear of kiwis in the US gunned by police. Can it be because they have a white skin?

This same successful race you claim are the ones that destroy(ed) developing countries during colonial rule and still do today indirectly.

Chairman. I maintain, anti-black racism had nothing to do with - how- are-yall-saying-it - development of dominant country of race or kilonkpe.

Once you have a black skin irrespective of whatever social class, country you are from, the System haunts you.

Individual there are rich and highly educated black people but there are less than 20 Percent of the same race. Out of over 1 billion black people, majority are very poor and uneducated. You can't gain anyone's respect like this. The largest black nation on earth is the world's poverty capital. Chinese, indians, whites and arabs do what they do because blacks have no power and have no money and they can get away with it.
Somebody help me tell this gentleman that being poor or uneducated is no reason to be racially profiled or abused!

There are countless Caucasians who are homeless and uneducated and arent bothered by the police or the System. White privilege!
CultureRe: For Racism Against Blacks To Reduce Drastically, The Black Race Needs To Be Rich by annex1: 1:41pm On May 28, 2020
Gerrard59:
This happens because the vast majority of black people especially those in the dominant environment of black people - Africa - are poor. Same discrimination you mention happened to the Japanese, Chinese, Koreans and all other groups. They became rich as a race not as various individuals and today, no one dares disrespects them. If the discrimination gets too tough for a particular race, what do they do? They relocate to their dominant environment. White South Africans are doing same, Chinese Malaysians did same by relocating to Singapore, Brazilians of Japanese ancestry relocated to Japan. Question is: how many African Americans, blacks in Brazil, Britain and other places where they face discrimination can relocate to Sub-Saharan Africa? Very few because they are better off economically in those places compared to their dominant environment.
First off, its embarrassing for you to compare anti-asian racism to anti-black racism - what with all the shootings and profiling? You tone down black slave trade and the jim crow periods?
And to your "panacea" being all African Americans or African Britons returning to Africa to develop Africa as the solution to anti-black racism is worrying. How many Asians in America returned to Asia? Do you know how many Asians there dont even know what country of origin they are from?

You expect God knows what generation (from the 1600s )of African Americans to return to Africa and develop it for anti-black racism to end? Of everything you penned down, that is your remedy?
CultureRe: For Racism Against Blacks To Reduce Drastically, The Black Race Needs To Be Rich by annex1: 1:10pm On May 28, 2020
Racism or profiling has nothing to do with wealth.

Kanye west said this
"You see its broke nigga racism, that's that - Dont touch anything in the store"
"You see its rich nigga racism, that's that - Come back please buy more"

Needing the money and nothing more.

Christian Cooper who was potentially accused by a white woman who instantly knew to evoke centuries of caste privilege as a white woman and endanger the life of a black man is a Havard graduate who has worked as a comic writer and editor for Marvel. Nope doesnt sound like a poor individual.

There is also a footage of Florida’s only Black state attorney Aramis Ayala being pulled over by police for no reason because she was racially profiled.

Also realise there is anti-black racism, anti-asian racism and anti-Arab racism. Yet, historically, it’s black people who have most often found themselves at the bottom of the pile - maybe because of the days of massa and picking cotton on plantations.

In Brazil, black people (not immigrants but black brazilians) are treated as second class citizens.
Also in India, students of african descents are also persecuted.

According to the UK government’s race disparity audit, relative to whites and Asians, black defendants at crown court were the most likely to be remanded in custody. Between 2017 and 2018, black people in Britain were approximately 10 times more likely to be stopped and searched by the police than white people were, and three times more likely than Asians. (That is from the guardian no be me talk am)

I also wish to not remind you that black Americans from various economic classes in America having also American passports are at the receiving ends of racism and police brutality.

If you have a black skin, you are not racially abused because your social status is lower cadre or from a poor country. Nobody knows this until you are spoken to. YOU ARE RACIALLY ABUSED BECAUSE OF SKIN COLOR!

So except you are a very rich and popular black person which I'm sure you know all cannot be, expect good reception, politeness from people prolly because of your money. But like I said, racism has nothing to do with wealth.

+++Unpopular Opinion Alert +++
Abort the marriage idea. You haven't even begun life, I can bet even your second degree is co-sponsored by your parents. Get your career together, be independent, date more. it is a whole different perspective to life when you begin working jobs, seeing competition and smelling the reality of life.
You are in that stage of life where you feel like you can and need to save everybody or somebody, be the knight in shining armour. YOU CANT and probably wont. Not now at least.

So wrap up the marriage idea. Support her in any way you can in getting a degree (if you really care) - mind you, do this altruistically. Do not expect anything in return talkless of that silly marriage idea. Why do you think some ladies who have been sponsored in school by their lovers end up not marrying them? - because life happens, perspectives change and vice-versa.

When you are done in supporting her education (if you even will) say 3 -5 years time. Evaluate your (you and her) situation and relationship, Come back here to read your post. I'm sure you'll laugh at the silly infatuation you once felt once upon a time - after youth corps.

So this infatuation, truncate it. On the other hand, I may be wrong so when and if you marry her - contact me. I'll love to gift your union and most importantly, to see me wrong.
EducationRe: Does A Masters Degree Guarantee Jobs? by annex1:
It took me 5 years post bachelors degree to begin my masters program. Yes I was employed but not with the salary I quite expected, in fact not satisfactory at all.

During this time I had one certification and skill but looking at it now I guess that few was enough to have kept me under-employed but afloat. You see, i didnt land all those Graduate Trainee jobs in banks, Audit giants and the likes that guarantees a young graduate's career, it was from one private organisation to another till I got to a bank(contract) while I was nearing the dreaded 26 year mark - referred to it as that because that's the "must not be more than" requirement we all fear while perusing job vacancies.

While at the Bank, I couldn't see a future as well so I decided to pursue a masters - and full time at that. Working part time with skills I learnt in the past to survive and pull through. During the masters years I would usually calculate my age and wonder who would employ me at that age and what kind of jobs?
It was an easy decision for a lot of my colleagues because most of them had PhD in sight especially as most had no prior work experience.
For me? I was barely struggling with passing talk more of dedicating another 5 years for phD in Nigeria.

Not one to relent, I graduated, pushed my resume out there and most importantly had a positive outlook. I got invited to a number of interviews and got rejected. All but this one aptitude test and interview with 15 others who were highly skilled with various certifications - knew this because we had a chat after the test.

As I sat waiting for my interview, I had the only one certification I spoke of earlier which had already expired, a resume, a dusty suit I was dieng of heat in, a masters degree and positive outlook - suffice to add that I alone, got the job, and it was a fairly good one (standards change).

I heard later that they considered the graduate degree on par with the certifications. That was my saving grace. I still have colleagues turn friends from those previous jobs I did and left who are still working there with no improvements. Never be afraid to fly.

I am not and will never belittle certifications as I am enmeshed myself with a host of them presently.
The take home is this, if you can get them all, get em'. It may not guarantee you jobs, but it sure as hello improves your prospects to land one.

Always remember that the brain is still always under-utilised.

I think the summary should just be to marry someone who is hard working and understands the value of money - no matter how little she earns. And most importantly, one who isn't stingy.

This life is in stages. There is a reason why we are broke in school, a reason why as we get older and matured, things begin to improve albeit gradually.

There will always be a time you may earn more than her by virtue of how long you've been working / age. A wife who understands the value of money and work will strive to be better at getting it by improving work input consistently.

I am now submitted in the pool.

Waited a while for the Ielts TRF to be delivered to my home. The first one wasnt delivered as UPS said they couldn't locate my lagos address ( an address just behind their lagos head office).

The second one was delivered successfully anyways. Currently sitting in the pool with a comfortable point. Gathered most of my documents I wont lie, POF was not easy but well, it's currently sitting in the account. Got my work experience letters, well I had for my previous employers already so I just got one from my current employer. They were really helpful.

Work too has not been easy, a lot of lay offs happened last week. A LOT. coupled with the covid massacre. No draws have taken place for my stream so I still am waiting.

Thanks.

I have not been able to update.

I rewrote ielts last week in that annoying state again.

I just received my result and I think I out did myself!

LRWS - 9, 8.5, 7.5, 8!

You know how I said 8 is the charm for listening? Well 9 feels even better.

I guess I should begin gathering my documents in readiness for ITA.

Bless God!

Ol'boy. IELTS result is out LRWS - 7.5, 8, 7.5, 7.5

I need an 8 in listening. That's the charm. Booked for another already.
TravelRe: Travel Diary by annex1(op): 5:16pm On Feb 09, 2020
Dear diary,

To be honest, I dont think my listening was "ok". That's a major concern.

The speaking part also, the interviewer kept asking me things like; why do I think Nigerians dont like borrowing things?
My response was - who told you Nigerians dont like borrowing things?
I think I took that question quite personal because my friend has been owing me some money for a while now.

I am back to my base; I counted 24 police checkpoints enroute. Each collecting money. Well it's technically the same as south west except police in SW dont bother wasting commuters time - collect their money and pass. The ones here will make drivers park, ask them to leave the car and meet them behind to collect the toll.
And oh, it's no longer N50. Double that.

Let me just start looking for money to book another test.
TravelRe: Travel Diary by annex1(op): 1:11pm On Feb 08, 2020
The Educational credential assessment was completed last week after a 5 month wait. I am yet to get the details of the hard copy delivery.

I am currently sitting waiting in turn for my IELTS speaking test and googling oyinbo things to add to my speeches. The LSW was fair, but you know the way you feel an exam went well but result will be giving another gist.
I travelled in yesterday because no centre where I am based so i had to get a hotel.
The test was computer delivered by the way.

I desire not to spend another night in this town. It's another Lagos.

Update.

An unfortunate event happened. My passport got defaced because water touched it (how water got to it is story for another day).

I had to go immigrations to apply for a new one. I still had 3 years in that passport so applying for a replacement based on expiry was difficult.

They made me pay 58k for everything. Plus an additional 7k for their inconveniences.

Consequently, I have gotten the new one. With all these stories of no booklet etcetera. Money indeed makes the world go round.

I have also booked the IELTS so writing soonest. It's difficult working and practicing for this things but achievable.

Wish me luck!

TravelRe: Travel Diary by annex1(op):
The thing is - I dont see emigration it as a route to escape pressure or think over there is going to be an easy ride. I and many other people in Nigeria are hardworking and resilient, the issue is while you'll spend minutes, days, month and years toiling here, little value is realised. Little value for work. So yes, I expect to go over there and start all over if need be, I am prepared to go over there and start from the bottom provided I am assured it's a level ground with equal opportunity and given value for work.

Additionally, I desire the most to start a family in a country where my kids can and will have that same equal opportunity. My dad had the chance to send us abroad but he thought the country would improve.I dont blame him but neither do I want to make that assumption hence mistake.
And please dont come here telling me about how people are making it in Nigeria. I understand this is true. However I relate with people who earn over 40 million yearly (bonuses included) they are not business men but employees aka salary earners and trust me i have seen a handful resigning for relocation. In fact it was one who convinced me to do the ECA for Canada.
TravelTravel Diary by annex1(op):
This is a diary. Its not yet accomplished so follow me on my journey.

It's been a long time coming I decided to want to leave this country. Far back as I can remember completing secondary school, especially as some friends of mine left.
Dad always assuring me of schooling abroad provided I passed WAEC accordingly - this was my motivation and the objective was to ace WAEC. This became a joke when they made me sit for JAMB the following year although I aced them both (WAEC and Jamb) initially - I mean, you promised me abroad, why make me sit for jamb again?

Anyways, a little about me. Last born, only guy. Not overly intelligent in fact not intelligent at all but I do and get done what needs to be done. Not long after the second Jamb, got admission to a private university - did a four year course and so on and so forth. Oh Dad retired sometime during my 1st year but I give it to him, we never lacked anything - from care to material things, I mean we were not all that rich neither did we have it all smooth as a family but we were ok - we knew how to hold our own.

After the university and service. I still had an eye for continued studies abroad but funding was my problem. Looking for scholarships at the same time for a job was priority. Got a job in a IT security company - limited liabillty- quite small. Remuneration was also little. I barely saved. Worked there for 6 months and resigned. I mean I had learnt everything I needed to know in that time, got a few of my bosses clients as close friends then I got off, my employer knew little about personnel management and was always bitter about everything. However I still am grateful for the soft skill he gave me.

Started working by myself for a little over 4 months before I got another job in an FMCG. Pay was greater than the former but was still 5 digits.I was able to save a large chunk of it. After all I wasnt paying for accommodation as we had a house in Lagos. All this while still planning on how I'll go abroad for continued studies. But I knew the little I'll save from this would go no where in even buying a ticket talkless of tuition.
I kept on applying for jobs and decided to run a masters program in one of the southwestern federal universities.

Might I also add that I was never in any serious relationship. The only one i could consider serious ended around when I was at the IT security company. And i really liked her, but she was much older (not that it mattered) not that age has ever mattered to me. i was 23, young and stupid. I mean this lady was divine
.One of those kinds that deserve the whole world. Even long after we broke up, I'll drive to her office on her birthdays to drop gifts anonymously. But that's story for another day (sorry for digressing).

All this while i knew i could not end up in this country - marry, have children and continue the cycle once again. I did my second degree full time and used up a great of my savings - still had support from my parents and sisters. This time I am a couple years past my mid 20s. Still determined to leave the country.
I got offers to leave illegitimately and start hiding as they say it. However I declined.

Anyways, finished my program sometime around 2018. Got back home (family house) regrettably because i was too broke to get my own apartment. Kept wondering where I'll start from, no job, very little savings. It didnt take long before I moved out of the house because going back to live with your parents at this age is an extreme sport. I was determined and with little pressure I must add - no girlfriends, no responsibility.

I decided to put an application for the Australian skilled immigration. Spent over 170k for the prerequisites and got into the pool. Unfortunately, IT occupations are highly competitive so I ended up scampering about how to get more points - I already had maximum points for English and education. I was desperate. I even attempted meeting ladies who wanted to travel to see if we could "pair up" the responses and reactions? - that's story for another day sha.

Alright, sometime last year, I got a job in an IOC. Well the pay is good so you can imagine how rabidly I save. In fact i dont buy things i dont need. I dont buy things I cant carry the day I am boarding. Sometime last year I decided to try canada FSW even while my application is in Aus. So this diary is to follow up this process - Canada.

Assuming the story is true and you are you. I'm not here to judge you neither I'm I here to give you Christian sermons. Gather some money, move far away from both families, start a life with your kids and learn from the past mistakes. Dont break up both families by revealing the truth, at least not now.

Sometimes it may feel like you've committed the most unheard abomination, but there's a calm solution to every problem. There is nothing new under this Sun.

However if you have a heavy conscience and cant live with it, then tell them. Sores will be open, tempers will flare, communications and trust will be lost, but your conscience will be clear.

What will remain is your clear conscience, your means of livelihood and your kids.
