Hi all. Yesterday approximately 7:45am Canada time ended my watch on Canada immigration and this thread. I arrived MMA 10am 9th June with my parents and sister, I had already made photocopies of all required documents a day prior because of cut throat prices for same at the airport. Checked in my baggage (2 boxes) which was lesser than the 23kg - I didn't carry any foodstuff. Took pictures with family and saw them off. Walked back to departure lounge for immigration and customs check - this was a breeze and I didn't drop a dime. I got my body spray thrashed from my hand luggage, I forgot to check it in my luggage. Waited for boarding and departed with EgyptAir around 2PM WAT. Food on board was acceptable as well as in-flight entertainment. Landed Cairo 8pm and had a 5 hour layover at the airport. Cairo airport is COLD so I unleashed my thick covers and slept for a bit. Around 1am we began boarding fo Toronto on a much bigger flight with Caucasians. Flight took off around 2 am and we landed Canada 7:45 am 10th June. On landing i proceeded to Immigrations, was asked a couple of questions and heard the soothing words; welcome to Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got my luggage, changed just 100usd at the airport due to their bad exchange rate. 1.09 cad to a dollar. I also got a prepaid line at the airport and hiked a cab to my residence also in Missisauga. Once I dropped my luggage, I made way to the bus park to get to a bank TD Canada Trust to open an account. I was told in an extremely rude way that I need to book an appointment to do that even after pleading that I'm just landing. Oh well, I got lost after that, trekked a great deal then found my way to a mall - Square One As fate would have it, there happened to be another TD bank there as well. I go in and met with a much nicer dude who opened the account for me and changed my remaining usd at 1.22 rate. He also advised me on cheap stores to buy groceries and stuff. I got my debit card as well. Guys, I'm now looking for a job and goodwill. Canada is beautiful with a lot of people willing to assist - never be afraid to seek assistance. Its also cold here cause as I've heard its Summer so its mild - now just feels like naija December harmattan. I got a few pics - I don't do much pictures. Thanks for all your support and prayers from the inception of this thread. Pictures attached are my final view at MMA2, chippings and in an flight entertainment in the plane (saw my favorite move MATRIX again) Then final view of Toronto while descending.

Oh wow! Congratulations brother. |
Country people, I received a call today and before the caller could introduce, I asked DHL? He responded, yes! And then my heart was filled with joy! I left office immediately - said I was feeling weak. Received my stamped passport and some other documents hours ealier after exactly 6 weeks. Also bought a box today - never used my cash to get one ever. |
StilmaVsBorn2w:If this advise isn't too late then Refuse this! If you don't have the means to fight for custody legally, leave the child for them. Open a savings account for the child and drop cash there regularly till whenever and surely some day when you can legally fight for your child's custody. Dont be swayed by the thought that the child won't bear your name - its just a nomenclature! 80% of comments here telling you to go ahead are from people who hate the idea of wedlock (and) generally, men having their way with baby mommas trend and what not! Their intention is to mock you & watch you suffer more for same and by extension maybe just maybe other men won't tow same path. But it is something that has been for years prior and will continue to be. So DO NOT pay heed to them. Where was the family when you sought loans to care for their sick daughter whom you were not married to? Remit whatever amount you have to them towards her burial and make it clear thats the purpose of it. |
Been living alone and far away from family for 4+ years today. Presently enroute home from work and worried about what/where I will eat so this topic resonates with me. I miss the pandemic period when I was furnished with 3 meals at work and then suffer once again on my off days. My problem is plain and looks me in the eye; I don't know how to cook and even if I do cook, its never palatable even for me with a tiny pinch of laziness. You see, I'm the type who tries his best to find out the root cause of my misfortune; I can quite alright wallow in that misfortune but I still like to know the cause anyway. I began soup making in 2020 during the lockdown. using web DYI videos for Okro and White soup. For some reason, egusi never works and can already start tasting spoilt ~ 7 hours later even with constant warming. For the life of me, cant fully understand why but my misfortune-cause nature suspects either because I don't mix the egusi properly or I don't probably let it cook enough. I retired the egusi ambition. Okro was still the most straight forward. Still is. Okro made me feel good; I delivered okro soup with finesse. Very little protocol and fiam, soup is ready! I'll be wicked if I don't credit one seller lady at the market; she assists me with buying the okro, washing and cutting it while I sit and wait and mope at fine girls shopping. Funny thing is she doesn't sell Okro or anything I'll ordinarily buy. All I need do is tell her what soup I plan attempting. "Market seller" might not be professional work but with her, i get this customer-client confidentiality guys wey never sabi body rarely get from market women; I've been asked mockingly why at my age, I no allow my madam come market. All because I asked which kind leaf dey go well with egusi. I saw her last week surprisingly, she helped me source the correct pepper for ofada sauce; which your boy prepared by the way - more about this later. White soup is another quick beauri! Grab my assorted, yam powder thickner, knorr, other orishirishi and fiam again, soup is reaaaady! You see, I have so much belief in Knorr chicken and crayfish. Each time I don't get a positive taste in whatever I'm cooking, another Knorr is sacrificed. Not even fried egg is spared. Regardless bouillon and spice don't save my cooking anyways ![]() The going was good. But who never Bleep up, hands in the air. There was a certain meat i bought one time during my maggi family menu show; it was hard even after boiling. I remember eating it regardless because me I like meat. It escalated to stomach upset with persistent diarrhea. Stool tests mentioned a specie of worm that is rare - tinea spp and another one i can't rem the name This spanned 4 months. 4 months without having a solid stool. 4 blistering months of uncontrolled bowel movement. I was placed on a cocktail of drugs - imagine combining pyrantrin, praziquantel and ivermectine? Like this worm must die sha. Na then I know say combatrine no strong again. Those days, when mum gives us combatrin, the worms get so frustrated that they come out of us alive. But there i was struggling my own body with Tinea for four darn months! Since then, my gas was used for boiling water. Alone! I visit gas sellers like thrice in a whole year - like your boy always got gas ![]() Let me also add that between 2020 and now, ive made these soups not more than 7 times including the alleged ofada stew i did last week. The ofada was cool but I'm suspecting the palm oil had issues. Most times the pots all end with me eating just the meat or in more untasty severe cases, washing the meat off the abomination to fry it. Yes!! I've prepared soup, washed the meat again and fried it. In hindsight I think I have a mixing/adding component problem (if this even makes sense). On a typical off work day for me, I wait till 9pm to buy fresh baked bread (N600) which I'll eat with peanut butter(N1500 for jar) and vitamilk (N1000 - the vitamilk is not everyday o, it costs an arm now I also stock up cereal (Kellogs which lasts 3 days max), I alternate at later part of the day. And just so i'll eat pepper, I got a vendor who does amala/ewedu (1k5 a meal) and ofada rice (2k a meal) to deliver twice weekly which i store in fridge. On other weeks I pay someone to prepare soup which I also refridgerate. This costs me 10k depending on the animal needed. Then there are the days and/or weeks where your boy is too lazy to bother myself about warming food or too broke to pay the vendors But your boy gets invited to a groove or house so I ends up eating there. On a typical work day, I don't get to eat in the morning. The result of this is being anxiously impatient for 12pm (lunch break). I eat like a horse during this time, and don't dare bring something light near me. That meal sustains me to around this time where I'll mix this remaining kellogs on my table and call it a day. There are bliss days though like a time I had a lady friend around. This girl dey cook shege! For the first time in my adult life, person dey make me chop correct food morning, afternoon and night. Like I could eat oha soup (which is fav btw) in the afternoon then Okro at night |
Submitted my passport at DHL 23rd March. Its pretty much another waiting game now. Already flinging some of my personal belongings. Using one eye to look at them at work although I'm still at my best behavior considering I might work a couple more months for more bread. Stay Scheming guys! |
Thank you @everyone! @gummygummy you're the inspiration! How are you so strong? I also read your diary in 2020. Congratulations boss! |
You yourself set the cut off. You yourself increase the cut off. You for be wicked lecturer! |

Spent the whole of 2018 applying to Australia. Never got an ITA owing to high demand of my occupation but kept hoping. My people. Its been 1 year and 8 months since the last update - boy has it been a ride. I submitted the application July of 2020 and then total silence due to international travel ban and what not. After absolutely no contact from IRCC 1st half 2021, my medical result expired June 2021. The instruction was to wait to obtain new medical instruction from IRCC or otherwise get an automatic extension (which is good for cash saving) - so your boy kept waiting. At this point I knew all my submitted docs would have expired. To be frank, I lost hope on this journey. I was filled with so many emotions at the same time. I was even close to processing Portugal or UK save for cash - speaking of cash, so along the end of Dec 2020, I lost a considerable sum of money about 2.5 in a terrible investment. I bin dey even shame to tell person lol. Money wey no even dey. Till date, Ive still not recovered from it but just so you get the idea of how 2021 felt for me. I got friends who I started the waka with leaving for other countries. It all looked funny - at a time i asked myself if this is Australia happening again Loool. A total of four comrades left Naij while my app had no direction. Anyways, I couldn't hold it anymore at the eight month especially when I saw more recent candidates applications approved. I presented myself for another medicals (46k) March 10 2022 along with Police character certificate in Alagbon. Immediately i was on time off, travelled down to lagos on a very tight budget so GIGM was the choice (bros airline is 100k return) Got to lagos at night, crashed in my friend's crib - I couldn't go to my parent's because marriage talk would have ended me. I had the new medical sheet uploaded same day. The next day 11th March, I got a document request for Schedule A (practically explaining where you'd been in the past 10 years) which I submitted 13th March. Brethren, I got the Ready For Visa email today 22nd March 2022. I've been playing gospel music since. Now I'm prepping to process the passport for stamping. I'll drop update. Hope yall have been A+ |

Dont confront her. Just focus on yourself and children please. And till you suspect otherwise, use protection during intercourse. |

Nice. Say you get a job in line with your degree. Is there any minimum or mandatory number of years of work before converting APS to residence? Or just a year. Also is there a minimum salary requirement for said jobs in lieu of converting APS to residence as well? |
Double standards analogies. If Nairaland was a football match, nobody will score because everyone will be shifting post. Mr. Kuku, marry from your social strata. But if you know you've got enough money, and if this lady is confident, appreciative and got potentials, invest in her. Some people only need opportunity and the right guidance to sprout in life. Unpopular opinion. |
Sincerely, the only commandment left for many of us to break is "Thou shalt not commit murder" |
Locate Satguru Marahaj's temple in Ibadan. Approach the synagogue with purest of minds and barefoot. In sack clothe must thou be adorned. Resist you must, the urge for water for only unleavened bread shalt thou be fed. Ye shall be birthed again from the void. For out of the flames must the phoenix rise. That which ye seek shall ye find. That which thou desire but in secret, will materialise in haste and before sunlight. Your personage will nations acknowledge. Wealth without measure will you grasp. Power without limit shall ye wield. From the richest of vineyards, thine wine shall be brought. Chicks with no comma shall ye command. Women with the fairest and roundest of bossom shall plead saying "Master, ravage me as thy will. In whatever position thou desirest of me. Plant your seed in me." Ye shall be worth your weight in multitudes of Gold. Surely, In Diamonds shall your feet be planted in. But for 600 years must thou count the cost!

Hi. You can fund your TransferWise GBP borderless account with your naira debit card. After which you can send the money to your friends account. You would need to verify your TW account. And be prepared for TW fees since you arent using a UK debit card. Whatever amount you try to send is subject to your bank's monthly web transaction limit. Secondly, using Skrill bank transfer, you can make a GBP transfer to a UK account directly using your naira debit card. Also it is advised your skrill account is verified. No fees at all currently. Also subject your bank's monthly web transaction limit. |
These moves. This one is not a baby o ![]() |
So the problem seems to be the educational cred. I dont know the kind of visa he wants to file for you. I also dont know what non-educational visa type in UK requires applicant's educational credentials. Lets wait for others. |
Is your Dad and Mom alive, and are they aware of this? This looks simple but inter-personal relationships can go south real quick especially if your parents are not aware and may likely not approve. |
This thread will be animated in 4...3...2...1 |
The same Akwa Ibom I know? And all the married women in that state are not yet dead? Yes! I mean what I'm implying! |
What of the method where the initial water used wasnt hot enough then you are basically with soaked garri without sugar and ground nut. Then you got to turn on the heat again and keep stirring the soaked garri till it turns to eba. Excellent Knowledge Sharing by the way! |
Which of these has the highest monetary gain: I know some Pan African scholarships to African and Nigerian Universities that pays beneficiaries quite a lot cumulatively. Even heard some collect $1k per month. Is this one of them? If it's not! Shelve this option. This Czech Option, you will be spending on tuition. Do you think you might make that much money that the scholarship in a Nigerian university is giving (if they are giving?. If the Nigerian scholarship isnt attracting that much money? Leaving just the option of Czech where you'll have to spend more and a scholarshipped South Africa. I'll pick SA for you. Edit: Money is the koko. Anywhere you can make the highest money in this next 18 months of your schooling. Enough money to then help you emigrate to a much better place |
