Hello everyone.

Someone told me the merit list is out and pasted at the "admin." block of the school.

I think UI always put the names of those given admission on the website.

So, I am not sure if my source was right after all.
Its not true. I just contacted a close family friend who works in UI, and she said its not true. Any news as regards the admission will definitely be posted on their website. So dispel the rumour and still be on the lookout anyway, cos its close. Am anxiously waiting too.

EducationRe: Teachers' Terminus by Annibiteye:

A nice thread to follow, and thanks for creating it.
Well I can say am an accidental teacher. I studied Geology and as a young graduate then, my ambition was to be in the water resources dept as a hydro geologist, but things didn't work out that way. Got into teaching in a secondary school and long after, had my PDE (Professional Diploma in Education), and today am a qualified Teacher. I must confess that I love teaching, but I don't love the job. My reasons for not loving the job will be explained some other time.
I love teaching, hence I put in my best in delivering my lessons, with series of step by step instructions.
A teacher is trained to teach the students and not to cheat them. A teacher who delivers half baked lessons, misses classes, fails to use instructional materials etc, has only succeeded in cheating his/her students. I hope no teacher in this forum falls guilty of this. My watchword is "I will teach but I will never cheat my students"
A lot effort has to be put in to make the students understand and to love what you teach.
The teaching profession is quite tasking, but more tasking is handling the kids in pre nursery, nursery and the primary classes. I give Kudos to teachers in these categories. For me am better where I've always been since I became an 'accidental' teacher i .e Senior secondary school teacher.
Twelve years in the profession, am still trying to fall in love with my job. My students both past and present will never believe I don't love the job, and I will never convince them of my not loving my job.
My utmost joy is when I hear their testimonies or read their commendable posts concerning me, hence I've made up my mind never to disappoint them.
Still love teaching, but little reason to love the teaching profession.
Stay blessed folks!

PhonesRe: How To Make Your Browsing Fast Like Jet On Glo Network by Annibiteye: 7:03pm On Oct 13, 2016
GLO Internet network sucks. I changed the APN code as the poster suggested, but still same slow speed. The huge data they give out at low rate doesn't make sense, when at the end of the day you can't enjoy it due to the slow speed and sometimes no speed at all, the data logo keeps on displaying but pages are not opening, very frustrating I'll not use my GLO sim for any browsing for now. Let me just stick to my mtn.

UI does accept... I used geography as the fifth subject
shanky45:
guys please I used geography as my fifth subject combination because I had good score there.hope it won't affect cos am going for computer science, I also filled phy, che, eng, math as the remaining four
shanky45:
I pray o cos dz issue has really been given me a tough time
As regards the scoring/grading system UI States that: "Candidates with wrong subject combinations in either JAMB or O’level results were not scored where wrong, and will be denied admission either now or later"

So based on this, UI wouldn't have scored you in the first place if Geography was a wrong subject combination. So I believe Geography is an acceptable subject combination for the course you going for.

Go and check it in a cafe. you may not be able to log in using your phone, so its better and best you check it via laptop or desktop preferably in a cyber cafe. Success

You'll be considered for admission into your "fall back institution". Remember you fill in for a "fall back institution" during your online screening registration. So that's the essence of choosing a fall back institution. All the best!

I've been having issues with apps update on my phone. itel 1506. can't update apps that are up to 30mb and above, especially Facebook mobile app. I've tried all the trouble shooting, like clearing cache, then restarting the phone. still having up to 2gb unused space in the storage. I've also uninstalled and when I tried reinstalling, it can't just install. I have to receive an updated version via xender from a colleague's phone. Today been trying to install google chrome browser, same issues, can't download, just the download line displaying for several minutes to half an hour, still no show. Am not really enjoying the phone again. A phone I bought less than a year. Any help?

DokitaDave:
Hey!

I have seen this method somewhere on the internet before, but the only problem I've got with it is the 1.67 thing. Why will the school use that figure instead of 2 (for it to reflect the said 60:40 model)? And also, that is more like a 50:50 model.

I think we might understand the model when our scores are sent to us. I am also thinking that should commence today.
Yes its 50:50, just that the figures are rounded to 2 decimal places. 50% of 30 (I.e WAEC aggregate points) is 1.67
EducationRe: 2016/2017 University of Ibadan Admission Thread Guide. by Annibiteye: 10:50am On Sep 30, 2016
Aspirants you can now calculate your score, very likely they'll use this method: WAEC grades in the subject combination where A is 6, B2 5, B3 4, C4 3, C5 2 and C6 1. Multiply by 1.67. Divide UME score by 8, add up the total, that's makes your score. Compare it with your departmental cut off when they release it. Keep expecting your score though via emails and text messages. All the best!

cc: Annibiteye
Debited twice? for the refund, you go the two different banks you used to apply for refund. For my Ward's case, she was debited once, and when we used another card, in another more reliable cafe, her registration was completed successfully. I think you should look for a cafe whose attendant is highly competent and try again. Refunding will take 5working days or thereabout, so it won't be wise waiting for your money to be refunded before you log in to complete your registration. 23rd is in 5days time. please Members with a better solution can help

Please do the needful, time is gradually running out) TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR YOU TO SCAM PEOPLE. I DONT EVEN NEED TO SWEAR FOR YOU OR CURSE YOU.........THE WRATH OF GOD AWAITS YOU.
I can see that you lack manners. Responsible and well brought up youths do not interfere dogmatically in affairs/ issues that they knew nothing about. What has scam got to do with my offering Smoak a piece of advice that eventually worked for him? Go and learn good manners. Am a mother and I wouldn't entertain children/youth like you to ever address me the way you did, otherwise the wrath of God will definitely descend on you. Be warned!!!
