EducationRe: ASUU Petitions EFCC, Alleges N2bn Fraud At University Of Ilorin by Annibiteye: 8:39am On Dec 30, 2016
As per accommodation fee, its seems so outrageous. A ward paid N30000 for accommodation this session and till now no allocation have been made to her. Unilorin is good at accommodating more students than the university capacity can actually take, this trend eventually do not augur well with the students. Its only 'better' the student by an outstretched stress!

What a whooping sum!
Is it sort of new items for every year or there have not been such items in the state's house kitchen before and they need to purchase new ones altogether...
Whatever the situation spending 100 million naira on kitchen utensils in a country whose economy is recessed is totally outrageous and uncalled for.

No it will not, provided one first install another app, one of which is called 'parallel space'. With parallel space it allows duplication of apps. I've done that without issues.

FoodRe: 10 Reasons You Should Avoid Eating Noodles by Annibiteye: 5:54am On Dec 25, 2016
Depends on how you prepare it. The sodium content can be well regulated. Use a sachet of the sealed ingredients to prepare two packets of noodles or half the sealed ingredient to make one pack. Just make sure you're not using all the ingredients when preparing your noodles.
Garnish your noodles with plenty of spinach to augment the vitamin nutrient. Green beans can also be added to makeup for the protein. Also with fish or lean meat added to your noodles you're good to go.
Whatever you consume, consume with moderation. These days there's virtually no food the nutritionist won't give a side effect of. Shine your eyes when trying to prepare the dish you termed 'your favourite or best' it can only be doing you more harm than good. Shalom!

You won't be able to install another Facebook Lite application on thesame android phone outrightly. If you try to, once you get to Google Playstore, you'll only see the "update" or "open" icon on that app.

However, you can download an application called "Parallel Space" on Google Playstore. That application allows you to duplicate any android application on your phone without interference. With that app, you can have two Facebook applications, WhatsApp, and the rest.

Merry Christmas and an amazing new year in waiting.
Thanks Dave, I'll try that. Compliment and wishing you a joyous festive season!

... he should have written the final exam, obtained his certificate as a doctor and then proceeded to study whatever he wished to study.

That way not only would he actualise his dream, that would probably make him the first doctor-journalist.
Exactly my thought. This reminds me of a son of one of the States chief judge. His father insisted he must study law to take after him against the wish of the son who wanted to study political sciene. The son 'obediently' applied for law, got admitted and later went to law school and graduated as a Lawyer. Immediately after his graduation he put applied again into the university, this time around he went for his desired course which was political science. Today, he has two first degree certificates to his credit. A lawyer and a political scientist. He satisfied his father and at the same time fulfilling his dreams.

EducationRe: Provost Of Health Sciences Oau Gives Reasons Why Mrs Aror Wasnt Admitted by Annibiteye: 6:45pm On Dec 23, 2016
dabossman:
Unfortunately, this is not going to happen. The University is considered a place for YOUNG ADULTS who are expected to be responsible for themselves. No university is going to spoon-feed young adults. You must be able at that stage to submit your correct high school results/transcript. The university will not be liable for your naivety.
dabossman:
Sorry, bro but I cannot agree with you that it is the Universities responsibility to correct an error made by a student in her application. It is clear from the examples I gave that it is the students responsibility to ensure that certified results are presented. I have applied for Masters Degree admission in UK universities before and studied there too (although for a professional certification), I applied for the transcripts, I followed up with the Uni to ensure my school had sent said transcript to them. That a university does a back check to verify your results is just to confirm that you have not falsified any info. But if you think they will find a discrepancy and then be obligated to start going the extra mile to help you correct such and improve your chances of admission, that is where you are wrong. It's like applying for a
Lol. We can definitely agree to disagree. You speak as if the University of Ife is not a microcosm of the larger society. We recently saw a N-Power program where the data of applicants from one state was mistakenly switched with that of another on a FG run portal. Even the Uni's portal allegedly has issues as you have repeatedly stated. Yet you assume that WAEC's online portal is full-proof and error free? So,what makes you think that a visit by the university to WAEC's portal may not turn up someone else's results due to some technical glitch. Alas, the student fails to get admission without even knowing where the error is from.

No one has said the process is the most ideal. There are many processes that can be improved upon and simplified in Nigeria, like the processes of getting an Int'l Passport, Driver's License, Voter's Card, recovering your lost SIM card or even buying Lake Rice. But until the process is improved on, at least ensure that you adhere to the modalities of the process currently in use, especially when you are the one who needs that which you seek more.

Plus you suggested that the university buy recharge cards? At whose expense. 500 students applied for a course. We have only 100 slots. Then you expect that the uni will buy 500 recharge cards to confirm who has the right qualification or not? Are the applicants ready to pay a non-refundable administrative fee for admission processing?

Since you're from the old school, probably before internet in Nigeria, how did we handle our uni applications. We presented originals and copies of a statement of result from our high school, not WAEC document. Today they have online portals where you can fill in information. That means there is improvement in the process. But we followed the guidelines present then. In reality, if the universities have to request for the results,it should be from the schools the kids graduated from, not the exam board.

My two pence. Enjoy what's left of your day.
visa, and they discover that a certain document is incomplete or missing. Contacting you for clarification is not obligatory but discretionary. OAU is not under any obligation to help correct the error if/when they spotted it.

And I've been in this world since the late 70's. So maybe you're older, maybe you're not.
100% in support of your submissions all along.
The candidate garbaged in and unfortunately got garbaged out.The online pre admission screening is very much part of the selection exercise. A candidate can be screened out if incomplete information is presented during the online pre admission process even without him/her knowing, until the whole process is completed, just as in the case of the candidate in question.
Admission seekers needs to learn from the costly mistake of 'this candidate'. Shalom!

Pathetic.... Quite unfortunate the level our hospitals have degenerated to. Their response is always:
"We don't run a charity organization". Why not treat first and hold him "hostage" until
the bill is settled.

The funny part is that if the patient unfortunately dies, they hurriedly convey the body to their morgue, and
the bill automatically starts counting while they wait for the relations of the dead to show up.

Its high time they are reminded of the oath they swore to keep.
So pathetic indeed, and they'll still claim their profession is noble. Noble for mouth but wickedness in action

EducationRe: You Said U're Good In Math Abi Oya Try This by Annibiteye: 5:24pm On Nov 19, 2016
thesicilian:
A problem like this with different signs is best solved with the simple formula: BODMAS where
B= Bracket. If there's a bracket, the equations in the bracket are solved first. Followed by

O= Order or Of = Multiplication. The multiplication (times) is solved next. Then

D= Division. Then

A= Addition/Plus. Then

S= Subtraction last.

So from the problem above,
5+5x5+5. We have only Multiplication (same as Order or Of) and Addition (plus).

So solving the multiplication in the middle first gives 5x5 = 25.
Now we have 5+25+5 = 35.
*******
Assuming the question was 5+5-5+5, since addition comes before subtraction, we will solve it like this

The first 5+ 5 = 10
The second 5 + 5 = 10

Therefore 5+5-5+5 = (5+5)-(5+5) = (10)-(10) = 0
Best analysed!
EducationRe: How Do I Graduate With 2'1 When I Have A 3.0 Gpa In 300L by Annibiteye:
Reski:
Big fat lie don't listen to the above. You are as bad as your last failiure and just as good as your last success. For God sake you only need to make 4.00 and you are in 2.1.
You are what you repeatedly do (aristotle) so success is a matter of habit. Please take the following practical step's and I assure you making 2.1 is a piece of cake.
1. Change your mentality: The truth is if you don't change the thinking that got you a 3.0 as a cgpa am sorry bro you might as well end up with a 2.2. Maybe you are taking yourself to be an average student hence can't make A's whatever it is it's high time you change for the better.
2. Identify the problem. Think long and hard about what's been hampering your academic success. It might be little things like not attending lecture's or using fire brigade approach to prepare for your test or exams. Just focus and do a honest self assesment.
3. Improve your network of friends: Am sure you ' ve had of the saying that says your network is your networth. In essence move with like mind's that have the same objective's with you. If you are introverted get out of your shell and ask for help from those that are academically better. Make friend's with the best of the best because that's were you also wan't to be among the best.
4. Start early: bad habits like not resuming early for school should be discarded. In fact start reading preparing for next semester during your holiday's. Ask your senior colleageue's about difficult courses or courses that have bulky handout's . Get material's and start studying them before the begining of the semester. Attend every lecture and start reading from the very first day in school.
5. Read every day: In addition to starting early ensure there is no day or night that passes without reading with enthusiasm and alacrity of someone that has exam's the next day.
6.School doe'snt last forever: The major lesson i want you to take away from this long epistle is the above point. Premier league laliga girlfriend's hanging out video game's are alway's available at your beck and call. But school is just for a period of time. Make getting good's grade's an obsession even if it mean's spending 90 percent of your time studying. Its worth it at least for the next four semester's.
Success is earned. So start working toward's it from now. See you at the top.
The advice quoted must have been taken into account by esdee108. A great motivation. once again congrats

EducationRe: Five Things To Do When You Forget What You Have Read In An Exam Condition by Annibiteye: 3:18am On Nov 01, 2016
Tonydeeb:
Nice one... For me, basically, I try to read the questions in toto, then keep phrasing out possible answers until something juggles into my memory, for if I were to remember something, anything, and it happens to somewhat correlate with the question, then the tendency of remembering the rest is highly plausible.
Joseid:
Great!
My personal favourite is to maintain my composure and inner peace. For instance, when I have tests or exams in school, I don't try to rush things. One day, I decided to take a critical look at how students rush to halls for the assessment and then I started laughing. The rush is real. You'd see them walking as though, God just opened heaven's gate with a deadline which they are trying to beat.
In the hall, I often jot answers that I recall at the last page. Makes me more composed. Should I forget anything, I just lie down or seat (as the case may be) and then relax. In my quietness of mind, my
memory starts to Recall.
So, inner peace and composure does it for me.
great submissions!
