Some people said they have been in it for 10, 15 or even 20 years. Some said that they have been in it as early as 9 years old or as teenagers.

Noah was described as a preacher of righteousness but that was not said about Lot. It could be inferred that Noah preached to his family and prepared them for the impending judgement while that could not be deduced of Lot.
