Here are some Scatter Gun Tips to make you fall in love with studying the Bible The first thing to realize is that.. nobody is putting a gun to your head forcing you to read only the King James version. So the bible doesn't have to be as complicated or difficult to understand as most people complain it is. Be creative and read other versions of the bible and find one (or more) that really speaks to you personally that you can use regularly. Read the book of Proverbs out of which comes wisdom to believe the rest of God's word. Read a chapter of Proverbs daily that matches the day of the month (e.g. Study Proverbs 15 on the 15th of the month of April). Read and practice 1st Corinthians Chapter 13 daily (very important) as learning how to love is the key reason we were put on earth by God and supersedes every spiritual gift. Read and practice Galatians 5:13-26 daily Read a chapter of the book of Ecclesiastes that matches the first 12 days of each month (Ecclesiastes has 12 chapters so after the 12th day of each month you can be creative by using permutations and combinations e.g. On the 14th read Ecclesiastes Chapters 1 and 4) Do the above for the book of Job and Songs of Solomon (which were both written by King Solomon and can help you get through times of pain and navigate romantic relationships respectively) Read various versions of the same chapter by changing bible versions every month. Personalize your experience by reading a verse and chapter from every book of the bible that matches your age, birth date, month etc. Be wild and creative! Use a devotional and bible reading plan to get into the habit of consuming large portions of God's word daily (I recommend Kenneth Copeland Ministries devotional and bible plan which are not too long that your head hurts and not too short that you feel like your thirst for God was not quenched). You need to ensure you have a balanced view of the word and this can only be achieved by reading the whole book. Just as there are promises for prosperity, there are also those that mention the importance of prudence and modesty. Just as some scriptures mention holiness, there are those that warn believers not to be too good or too wise in order to avoid self-destruction due to self-righteousness. So in summary..never lean too much to one side of scripture. It is a two-edged sword so handle it with care so it doesn't injure you outside of the surgical incisions it is meant to perform on your spirit to heal you. Use a dictionary for any words you find too difficult to understand at first glance. Use bible commentaries of ancient scholars to get deeper understanding of bible verses and chapters. The book of Psalms can be used for comfort in times of sadness and as a war tool in times of despair. You can also read the new testament books for character transformation purposes. Study the context of events and situations in the relations that occur between characters in the Bible to see if there are any lessons to be learned. Read slowly and deeply and circle back to a portion of text if your mind wanders (yes it happens and yes you are a normal human being) Consider using a Bible version that has reference scriptures included in its chapters (We at anointedlinks recommend NKJV or AMPC). This aids in deep study. You'll literally be swimming in deep waters of fresh insights & revelation when you adopt this practice. The Bible can be very predictive in terms of showing you what to look out for in your day and provides you with wisdom to handle it. It is the surest form of prophecy and is a way God speaks to us. And the most important of all tips; practice what you read/study (James 1:22-27). Happy reading! What are your thoughts? THINGS TO TALK ABOUT IN COURTSHIP (2nd Timothy 2:16) The time of courtship is not the time for feeling of pecking and kissing. it is a serious matter. it is a time to talk and get it straight away. it is expected of your courtship to prepare you for marriage, but, nowadays, reverse is the case, the activities in courtship can never secure happy marriage life. There are lot of things to know and understand, and how can you know and understand if you don't talk. Different Pictures of Courtships 1. Mute courtships: These are the set of people that don't talk freely in there courtship, whereby, fiancé is acting in a strange manner to his fiancée and vice versa. It is not that they are deaf dump but they are not close in heart. The major cause of this is ignorance. Sometimes, Christian brothers and sisters practice this kind of courtship in the name of spirituality. Also, some people will not want to offend their partners may be because of position, age difference or wealth, and as a result of that they will be mute throughout their courtship life. 2. Talkative courtships: These are the set of people that talk in their courtship but without sense. They never talk right things. They are inclined in excessive talking, that is, always ready to talk even at length but you cannot hold any point. They talk freely about unimportant things in a friendly way. This kind of courtship is usually full of gossip and malice. 3. Flippant courtships: These are the set of people that joke too much in their courtship. They are polite and moderate in every sense of life. Well-mannered, socially superior to ordinary people and considered refined or cultured. They talk with grace, courtesy, love and have respect for each other. Maturity is written all over them. Keys that can help you to talk constructively; 1. Temperament So many young people are making excuses for their shortcomings in courtship, that, they don't know what to talk about. And, as a result of that, the only thing that is available to do is sex, which can damage their marital pursuit. All we have mentioned above are not a day talk; neither a month nor a year talk. They are something you can talk and talk until your mind is clear. So many marriages are having problems today because they fail to talk the right thing while in courtship. They substitute their talking period for sex and other related acts. FEWER PROBLEMS YOU WILL HAVE IN MARRIAGE IF YOU HAVE QUALITY TALKING IN COURTSHIP. IT IS NOT TIME FOR MARRIAGE until you are satisfied with every talking, until your eyes can see clearly the bottom of the water, until you have guarantee of your second life (marriage). You can save yourself from fruitless race in marriage now that you are not bonded with marital vows. You don't have to join the queue of failing marriages. Marriage is sweet and marriage is bitter base on your own experience and content of your discussion while in courtship. May we enjoy our Marriages to the fullest. What are your thoughts? Excerpt Opening Prayers 1.) Every invitation of demotion upon my life die in the name of Jesus 2.) W****craft fingers pointed at me pointed at my family wither in the name of Jesus 3.) Any power keeping my problems alive your time is up die in the name of Jesus 4.) Road of backwardness close by fire in the name of Jesus 5.) Arrows of fire from heaven arise! pursue my pursuers in the name of Jesus In 3 John 1:2 we see that there are three kinds of prosperity as well as three kinds of poverty- financial, soul, and health. In 2 Corinthians 8:9 you see that Jesus was the richest man who ever lived. - One of the greatest spirits battling man is poverty. - Poverty is not the absence of money per say, and God has a reason for everything that he does. - Poverty has demoting powers. - Poverty is actually a terrible flow of violence. A man can walk himself into poverty a man can pray himself out of poverty. Real poverty is actually spiritual poverty. Jesus did not have a bank account while on earth. There are many things money cannot do. Money can; - Buy you a comfortable bed but it cannot buy you sleep - Buy you a house but can't buy you a home - Buy you spectacles but can't buy your eyes - Buy you chairs in the church but can't buy you salvation - Buy you plenty of expensive books but it cannot buy you brains - Buy you all kinds of things you think your soul deserves but it cannot buy you your soul. The poorest man in the world really is not the man without money, it's the man without vision. There are 22 kinds of poverty; don't think poverty is just a case of not having money. If you don't have physical money, but you are spiritually rich; your spiritual wealth can get you anything you want physically. Jesus is not carrying anything in his pocket but can say let there be light, let there be healing, and there will be. Real poverty is actually spiritual poverty. What are the 22 kinds of spiritual poverty? 1.) Chronic poverty: These kind of people when arranged for the front will soon find themselves at the back again. 2.) Transient poverty: Money moves in and out; you get it, you lose it. 3.) Geographical poverty: Locations where if you try to prosper you will be wasted. Everyone is poor in these places. 4.) Absolute poverty: Poverty in marriage, money, religion academics, revelation. Poverty occurs in all areas. 5.) Mental poverty: When you are sent to school and don't know what you are doing your brain is not working you can be physically financially rich but mentally poor. 6.) Emotional poverty: Crying at any slight instance or trigger being swayed by your emotions to make wrong decisions. 7.) Spiritual poverty: Zero visions, dreams, no salvation e.t.c. 8.) Financial poverty: The person who has no money is poor, but the person who has nothing but money is even poorer. 9.) Poverty of ideas 10.) Poverty of good friends: That is social poverty If all the friends you have can be described as bad company then you could be termed a social pauper. 11.) Poverty of power: You get scared of spiritual confrontation of the enemy instead of knowing God's word and being able to exercise power from it through your utterances when challenged. 12.) Poverty of peace: Of all the gifts God gives to man, peace is the best. When there is peace, you can make progress. Without it, you're in trouble. You can have money but lack peace; meaning, you're still poor e.g Rockefeller had so much wealth but could only eat cracker biscuits and drink milk. The peace of God passes all understanding meaning a person may be visibly in distress, but you can see a peaceful countenance in them that all will be well. Decree: I have the peace of God in me. 13.) Poverty of knowledge: What the bible calls ignorance (disgraceful poverty). 14.) Defence poverty: The person is not divinely protected. 15.) Destiny poverty: Poverty of purpose which is worse than poverty of money. 16.) Poverty of good dreams: The poorest of all men is the man without a dream every man or woman who must fulfill destiny must have their own Joseph's dream. Joseph had a dream he was going to be a shining star. Prophecy: You shall have your Joseph's dream in the name of Jesus. 17.) Poverty of principles: Doing anything without being guided 18.) Verbal poverty: Having verbal diarrhoea like Zecharias in the bible 19.) Poverty of imagination: Imagining only bad things, never anything good. 20.) Poverty of health 21.) Poverty of character: When a person is suffering from character disorder he is a poor man. no matter how anointed you are, if your character is bad, you will fail. Your character is what you are when nobody can see you. 22.) Poverty of attitude: Your attitude is your; Mindset - Disposition - Mental state - Outlook - Inclination - Posture If you have a negative attitude, you are really a poor person. Your attitude can; - Heal you - Break you - Make you a success - Make you a failure - Alter your life for good. When you are rich in attitude you see; - Every challenge as an opportunity - Every setback as temporary inconveniences - You welcome changes - You are optimistic and forward looking all the time. But...when your attitude is negative; you are a pauper, very poor. Attitude is more important than; - Money - The circumstances surrounding you - Your education - Your appearance - What people say about you When problems arise (and no man is free from trouble), and your attitude is to; - Withdraw - Start drinking - Start chain smoking - Start worrying - Start taking drugs - Start backsliding - Go after beggarly powers - Cry everyday - Take sleeping tablets - Over-eat - Hate people.. Then your poverty will increase because your attitude is poor. These are the 22 kinds of poverty. Money is just one out of the 22, that is why you find a lot of wealthy useless people. A lot of men moving about with girls the ages of their daughters at university campuses because the money does not bring sense. Closing Prayers 1.) Oh heaven of my prosperity open by fire in the name of Jesus. 2.) Enemies of my comfort die in the name of Jesus 3.) Poverty dreams die in the name of Jesus 4.) Every evil bird swallowing my prosperity your time is up, die in the name of Jesus 5.) Oh God arise, advertise your riches in my life in the name of Jesus 6.) Serpents and scorpions of poverty you are a liar, die in the name of Jesus 7.) Generational poverty I am not your candidate die in the name of Jesus Read more here>>>https://anointedlinks..com/?m=1 Cc: OAM4J |
Click the moniker (anointedlinks) to access more content compiled just for you on our profile Excerpts Many people leave school looking for jobs. The educational system does not equip people to be job creators but equips them to be job seekers. The question we need to ask is who will provide the job that you are going to be employed in? It is entrepreneurship that creates jobs and the development we want to see. Proverbs 4v7 wisdom is the principal thing. Understanding is that which is under you as a foundation and enables you to stand. Understanding in the amplified version of this verse is defined as discernment, comprehension and interpretation NLT defines understanding as common sense and good judgment. Definition of capital Capital is anything required to start or execute a business, project, dream etc Capital is not necessarily money as when some people receive gratuity after retirement, they are confused on what to do with it. They don't have ideas which is the capital required in this case. This is because all through their working years they have spent time working to earn instead of learn. When money is your focus you will despise all the opportunities to learn and just go through the motions of the rat race earning an income and learning nothing. You need to provide value to your employer while learning along the way in preparation for the future. 10 Classes of capital 1. Human capital - Can a dead man start a business? No, so you are more important than money. You are the first form of capital. Most great nations have limited natural resources but develop the minds of their people, that is their human capital. 2. Spiritual capital - The power of prayer, covenant relationship with God, prayer, fasting, walking in holiness, faith, divine direction, sensitivity, ability to bind, loose and hear the voice of God, discernment. In the world we live in today, you can never succeed in business without spiritual power. You are either in the secret cult or the secret place. Everyone out there doing something meaningful has a spiritual backing of some sort. There are refined occultists who don't necessarily kill chicken with one baba in the village. 3. Idea capital - There are people who have ideas but no money, some have money but no ideas, others no money no ideas, the remaining have both money and ideas. People sell ideas and make millions. There are 26 levels just for your idea to become marketable. Idea conceptualization, documentation, protection, investigation, etc It takes rigorous thinking, rigorous work. 4. Experience capital - Number of years of experience within an area of specialization. A consultant is someone you pay to think for you about the problem you have that you refuse to think about how to solve. There are depths of thinking.... The deeper your thoughts, the better your results. Most people are too shallow in their thinking and mentally lazy. Just ask yourself how? 7 times, you will dig deeper. If you can answer how? 7 times, you can use it to develop your mind. Ask yourself how? Then when you get your first set of answers query them with another how? That's how you develop yourself. We spend so much time on shallow things, our brains are too short to carry great things. 5. Relational capital - Even if you don't have money, have people that can surround and rally round you. In life there are people that have ability and there are people that have sympathy. There are people in your life who can sympathize with your plight but they don't have the ability to help you. There are people that have the ability to help you but they don't have sympathy for your plight. So in life you have to continue to increase the number of people that have ability to help and others that have sympathy for you because, there are times when it is sympathy you need. You have to ask yourself, do I have people in my life where if I need people to gather around me for support/celebration they will be there? So you keep developing that. Other times you ask; Do I have people who if I have serious problem and need assistance or money now they will be there? Most of what life is about is increasing those 2 sets of people. There are people that have ability to assist you but don't know you or are not sympathetic to your cause. You need to think hard on how to get them to know you and to be sympathetic to your cause. That's what life and relationships is all about. Do you know all the people who own the company's stocks you buy? - No, but they have been able to develop a brand of which you are sympathetic to its cause. Olumide Emmanuel - The Fully Committed Workforce Excerpts Whatever you become a part of you have to be fully committed to. Whatever you're not committed to you cannot produce maximum results in or succeed in (Revelation 3:15 to 16). When you are lukewarm you are deceptive and undefined. As long as you continue to seek God, he will prosper you. If you can not promote stuff well in your company, you can't expect life to prosper someone that does not put in 100% effort. Life is governed by laws. It is not lived by emotional sentiment. Laws and principles are universal and have no respect of persons; Christians or not. Serving the Lord is making sure the purpose of God inside and outside of the church is fulfilled. When your Pastor visits your workplace, your boss should want to thank him for training you. There is a difference between being involved & being committed. If you come back from work and hear your child is kidnapped, your hunger and tiredness would disappear because you are committed to them. That's the same kind of commitment required in the workplace. When you're committed to something there is an ‘if I perish I perish’ Esther attitude you have. You give your all, consequences damned. The reason we don't get results is because we have reservations and hold back. Elements of total commitment It is purposeful - Know that God is the object of your commitment. It is amazing that your Pastor will tell you what to do and you will obey but your boss that gives you monthly salary will and you will be posing. If you can give your husband or wife just 10% of the respect you give your Pastor, your marriage will be okay. When you are a member of staff in an organisation, yes that man (boss) is paying you but it is really God that employed you through that man so work as if unto the Lord. Find purpose in the work you are doing just like Naman's slave girl, Jacob and Laban, Joseph in the house of Potiphar etc. No matter how bad the job is ask God, “What is the purpose of you bringing me here?” Shine your light and be an example in the marketplace. It is deliberate- To be committed is something you consciously decide. Just internally say “I will serve this company well”. Whatever you are doing, give it 5 years - if it does not work you are permitted to go elsewhere. Give it 5 years and see what will happen. Rick Warren - Seven (7) ways to Handle Conflict and Restore Broken Relationships Conflict never resolves itself. Time doesn't heal all wounds as popularly said. We never change until our love or the pain exceeds our fear. The starting point is to say "God fill me with your love"; because perfect love casts out all fear. 1. Make the first move: The only way to resolve a conflict is to face it 2. Ask God for wisdom: (never have conflict resolution while you're in bed or tired) 3. Begin with what's your fault: Don't start with accusations towards the other person about what they did wrong or the fact that you are hurt. Even though the other person may be 99.9% wrong, you can find something you did wrong to use to start the conversation. First look at what's going on inside you. The first cause of conflict is self-centeredness regarding what's going on inside of you. If I'm filled with peace/love almost nothing upsets me. If I'm filled with me/ego/pride/self centeredness almost anything can tick me off. The real source of conflict is not all those jerks you work with because if you were filled with peace they wouldn't bother you. The first cause of conflict is self centeredness when my must-have wants bump up against your must have wants….we got a problem. James 4:1 When I'm at peace inside, what's going on outside can't upset me. Though you may disagree you won't get distressed. You are distressed by what's going on inside you because of your response to what's going on around outside you. The number one reason given for divorce is incompatibility but nobody is compatible because we are all different nobody is exactly like you. It's always more rewarding to resolve a conflict than to dissolve a relationship. It's not incompatibility that causes a marriage to die, it's inflexibility. Proverbs 13:10 Sentence that will break a logjam in any argument is - ’’I'm sorry I was only thinking about myself.‘’ When seeking to resolve conflict, ask yourself if you've been unrealistic, insensitive, ungrateful, over-demanding 4. Listen for their needs, hurt and perspective: It's not ideas that cause conflict but the emotions behind the idea. Hurting people hurt others. The people who are most irritating are those who need massive doses of love. You need to know the hurt that caused specific people to hurt you. Be quick to listen and slow to speak. It will make you slow in getting angry. The key to diffusing conflict is to always listen before speaking. Listen to the emotions behind the words. Someone can say they are fine when you ask them but they are pissed off. Listen twice as much as you speak. Philipians 4v15. You're most like Jesus when you're focusing on the needs of someone else other than yourself. Seek to understand before seeking to be understood. SCOPUS - Try to learn the background and circumstances of the person you're in conflict with so as to understand why they behave like they do. Stop looking at how far people have to go but start looking at how far they have come (Romans 15v2). You will be more compassionate for someone when you look at/consider the fears driving them. MESSAGE HIGHLIGHTS: • Our God has been so merciful to us. • There are so many things we see today that we still wonder why people still do such things. • Jesus came looking for the poor, broken hearted captives, blind, sick sinners and everywhere he went there were testimonies of people like this being turned around (Matthew 15:16). • There is no amount of money that can redeem man because man fell from his glory and relinquished his glory to the devil. • The life of a sinner is governed by evil spirits and he cannot help himself. • This is why a man who suffers from day to day will still end up in the beer parlor late at night. • We have the power that is stronger than AK47 yet many have not heard about it. • Belief is not hearing – belief takes root in the heart. WHY ARE BELIEVERS NOT PREACHING THE GOSPEL? 1. They do not know or carry the consciousness of how terrible hell is: • God will ask you what you did with the power He put in your hands • The moment a sinner gives his life to God, Heaven rejoices and blessed is the man through whom that sinner is saved and heaven rejoiced • Are you conscious of the damnation at the end? 2. Some Believers think that Salvation is for their pocket (Jonah 4:1-3): • Jonah’s community had bitterness towards the city he was sent to save, he would rather die than save the city. • Some believers are so envious of salvation that they cannot preach to their enemies to save them - this is called unrighteous revenge of believers. • You must loose yourself from such shame. • Saul deserved to die because of his persecution of Christians but God had particular interest in him. • Every man deserves mercy, judgment belongs to God so we must preach to everyone. • If you carry the blood of Jesus, you will show compassion wherever you go. • Matthew 14:14, Luke 15:20 – in all the scriptures the power of the gospel is your love of the soul. • John 3:16 – God poured His all for us, what have we done for Him? 3. Secret Sins • If you are a believer living in secret sin, you must repent. • Those things you do when no one is there will deny you of your joy. • They break your guards and when they do the evil spirit will come into your life. • The powers of darkness know that the moment you fall into sin, you cannot preach. • Wake up and let God be proud of your ministry. 4. Spirit of Fear • Do not be afraid when they call you names because of Jesus, rejoice because your reward is great in heaven. • Don’t fear what they will say or whether they will reject the gospel or not. Don’t wait for anyone to do it, it is you that God is waiting for to do it. • Harvest is ready but harvesters are few. AREAS THAT YOU CAN BEGIN TO DO EVANGELISM • Your friends • Family level • Take a street – Say to yourself that you are the personal Pastor of that street. THINGS TO TAKE SERIOUS IN EVANGELISM When you go out on evangelism, you must acknowledge that people are at different levels: 1.) Some people have been to church but are unbelieving believers: These kind of people will begin to preach to you before you start - For these kind of people, you need to ask them questions like have you stolen before etc 2.) Some people like to argue: Win them with knowledge - These are usually educated people. 3.) Some are Occultic: you must use the blood. 4.) Some are runaway believers: Be patient. 5.) Some are Ignorant: They do what they know but they don’t know what they are doing. - Take their names and start praying for them God is counting on you to make the blood of Jesus count. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTXUncADNYE?feature=shared Excerpts (Paraphrased) Things you should check before going ahead with marrying someone; Is the person? - Born again - Committed to a local church ------------------------------------------------------------- - Do you have both set of Parents' blessings? - Have you heard from God? (Ask God for a sign) - You need to have a determination on your decision on marrying someone that has been already married. (Matt 19:1-12, Mark 10:11,12, Mal 2:15,16, 1 Cor 7:10-17) C-Checks to Carry out Before Marriage Things you shouldn't base your decision of who to marry on; [i.] Cars they drive. [ii.] Curves they have. [iii.] Countenance or cuteness - Learn to look beyond what the external features look like; rather, value what they have inside. [iv.] Cash - How much they have. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things you should base your decision of who to marry on; [i.] Compatibility - Common interests you both enjoy and like to do together and whether you generally get along well, quite easily. [ii.] Character - "I'm a people person and have dealt with human issues as a Pastor for more than 20 years in counselling so I can speak from experience ...by and large people don't change." They will be the same after you get married to them. (If they don't respect authority, are mean, cruel to parents, lie etc. before marriage; they'll do the same after). Sex before marriage will blind you to a person's true character. [iii.] Competence - The ability to practice some skills. Marriage is skills-based. Ask yourself if the person has the skills to be married. [iv.] Communication - Do they listen or run their mouth all the time? Do they tell you what is bothering them? A big part of marriage is communication. [v.] Children - How many does the person really have? (before marriage) How many children do you both want to have? (discuss this together and agree before getting married) [vi.] Cash management - Can they manage cash? When you get married to someone you are joining their assets and liabilities to your own. So if they are in debt; you will inherit it once the two of you get married. [vii.] Continence - Self-control. Can you sexually control your self? When you get married, it is not going to be sex all the time. There are seasons in a marriage where sex is off-limits. The greatest gift a man can give to his fiancée is to demonstrate that he has self-control. [viii.] Cooking and cleaning - Determine your life partner on whether she can cook and clean. If she didn't cook/keep her room clean before she got married, she won't do it after (Proverbs 31) It is assumed & hoped that men would have learned these two skills as well before marriage..
