Gbawe: @OP. I share your faith and belief in Buhari. What most Nigerians do not understand is that it must get worse before it gets better because of our badly PDP mismanaged Nigeria to the extent that everything that can help us weather a very difficult storm is missing. We are a mono economy reliant on one major export which is crude oil. We all know the price of crude has taken a horrid battering. A diversified economy would have helped us immensely right now. 'Rainy day' saving, which we should have put away when oil prices were high, would be extremely helpful today. So would a thriving SME sector and robust infrastructure i.e transport, electricity et al. Yet we lack these absolutely crucial and fundamental underpinnings because the PDP looted everything available and misruled Nigeria horrendously for 16 years. The PDP failed totally to plan and therefore planned to fail totally thus ruining the future of millions of Nigerians. That is now our reality today.
The only leader who can get us out of this mess is a resolute individual who will do what must be done, even if it will cause pain and inconvenience in the short term, so the immediate and long-term future can be much better for Nigeria and Nigerians. By his second year in power, when many of his initiatives will have started bearing fruits, I expect majority of Nigerians, to include those vilifying him on this thread, to be solidly behind Buhari. No miracle is possible for now because of global economic conditions beyond our control and the total failure of the PDP to 'insulate' Nigeria from the current harsh economic downturn many major oil exporters are facing. What people fail to accept is that the economy of most major oil producers worldwide, just like our own, is in trouble today. Yet it is Nigeria that is at a critical and infant-like state because of how badly our commonwealth was looted and how irresponsibly we were led by the PDP for 16 years. Personally I feel the best Buhari and his team can do is get their head down and work while ignoring unreasonable criticism from a people used to ignoring reality while hoping for miracles. PDP 16 years yet its worstest elements are born-to-gain progreTHIEVES in the coven-dwellers gathering called APCshit, not so Who is FOOLING who?www.nairaland.com/attachments/2102459_apcteam_png6dc9407cdcc2b68174c445361fc3e4c9Obasanjo endorses APC moves, as party leadership visit Abeokuta 22.Dec 2013
The push by the opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC to dislodge the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP received a boost yesterday as former President Olusegun Obasanjo openly threw his weight behind the APC’s current initiatives. The APC leadership, comprising some national leaders and governors visited him Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Saturday to solicit the former president’s support for the party in the forthcoming elections. The party leaders, which started converging on Obasanjo’s Hilltop Mansion around 5:22pm, included former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party’s Interim National Chairman, Bisi Akande; former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari; former speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Masari; former Borno State governor, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff; Senator Osita Isunazor; Senator Bukola Saraki and Lai Mohammed. Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State came to the former president’s house in company with the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissioin, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and others in a convoy of three black jeeps. Other APC governors at the meeting included Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abdulfattah Ahmed (Kwara), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano) and Senator Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo). The Chairman of the New PDP, Kawu Baraje led some of his members and the former Kaduna State Chairman, Yero Makama, to the meeting. Presenting the party chieftains and the APC governors to Obasanjo during the opening of the meeting, Akande said the party was in support of the former president’s 18-page letter to President Goodluck Jonathan. The APC National Leader, Tinubu who alluded to Obasanjo’s contribution to the building of the Nigerian nation, lamented that the country was divided more than ever. Apparently referring to Obasanjo’s recent letter to Jonathan, he enjoined the former president not to shy away from speaking the truth. Tinubu added that the APC had resolved to rescue Nigeria, appealing to Obasanjo to lead the mission. “You’ve come out of tribulation and held the highest position in this country. We are here because of your courage. Nobody can say he has information more than you. You have surmounted a number of crises. Nigeria is divided more than before; to realise stable Nigeria, we want to encourage you to continue to speak the truth. We’re resolved and determined to rescue Nigeria. We want you as navigator,” he said.

1wolex85: Look at my edited post. it is not about inefficiency I have seen your edit: I guess you receive water in your house straight from the main waterworks abi, it doesnt stop at any substation, the same way you receive power from the national grid directly abi? All that infrastructure for supplying tap water up to people's houses, offices, shops, factories, etc should be owned by the state government as it was some 50/40 years ago, not so We have REGRESSED in this area. QED!!! We should stop selling ourselves CHEAP to our public SERVANTS who should provide these amenities properly to all of us. 1wolex85: Oga, stop embarrasing yourself here. Ogun state has no business giving water to Funaab. Funaab is my alma mata, stop talking about what you dont know. Funaab receives their water in a central reservoir in their mini waterworks and then pumps to all buildings. Universities and other tertiary institutions in the US, Canada and UK where we run to are not supplied tap water like everybody in the town/state, right Why do we promote inefficiencies in our own system by our leaders looters? www.nairaland.com/attachments/3084794_DumbPeople_jpg287f2b4d3ead2f536f99f92cbca9c590 |

1wolex85: You have comprehension problem. Was the tap water the problem or power to pump the water? If the water has enough pressure from the source, it should not need another pump, abi Besides providing water to unaab is not within the puriew of the state government. Unaab gets their supply directly from ogun-osun river basin authority Is FUNAAB in Ogun state or not? Is the governor responsible for providing tap water all over the state or not? |

Gerrard59: Stop trying to deflect.. On one hand, you blame r@pe on indecent dressing(which is ridiculous as majority of rape victims dress decently and the word DECENT is subjective). Next you blame feminists for the reportage of rape stories as if feminists are the ones raping young girls or kidnapping them for forced marriages.
Now you ask me what am I talking about. If I may ask, why do you support rape? Does it sound like a football club to you? I hope his support, veiled or otherwise, is not because he is a rapist himself. Perhaps he can confirm if he is!!! |

Cholls: my brother now look here and don't be over emotional.
I am not a sadist. Am a real guy with a good life.
I tell you most of the stories you hear this days are promoted my feminist.
A tiny fraction of 1% of men ever commit rape, and a very small % of women are rape victims despite feminist lies to the contrary. The rape culture snow job is feminism clawing at remaining relevant where the real data are showing that women have it better than men culturally and all of the prior tenets of feminism. patriarchy, wage gap, glass ceiling, etc., have been thoroughly debunked.
When last did you hear of men been raped and it's happening but not reported. Legally, at least, a man cannot be raped. Rape involves penetration. A woman cannot penetrate a man. |

https://www.allnigerians.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Ben-Murray-Bruce_2.jpgBeeBeeOoh: North East: Senate Turns Down Budget Proposal For Information Ministry..
ABUJA—THE Senate, yesterday, refused to treat the budget proposal for the Federal Ministry of Information due to lack of provision for media propaganda in the North East.
The Senate Committee on Information, which took the decision during the ministry’s budget defence, insisted that the ministry must not only rework but also re-present its budget with provisions for effective media propaganda in the North East.
The committee on information, headed by Senator Enyinaya Abaribe, PDP, Abia South, directed that the ministry should bring a budget that will cater for the needs of its media agencies. Abaribe’s directive was sequel to the observation raised by a member of the committee and senator representing Bayelsa North, Ben Bruce, who had decried the non inclusion of budget for media operations in the North East, in the wake of the Boko Haram insurgency. Bruce, in his remark, had pointed out that during the Nigerian Civil War, the media was effectively used to propagate relevant information. He therefore appealed that the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, and Voice of Nigeria, VON, should go and add the required component.
He said: “It would have made more sense for the information budget of the Army to be given to the Ministry of Information to equip these stations to be used by the military as a source of communication.
“For instance, if there is going to be an air raid in a particular area, we can warn the citizens to stay off that particular area".
