Nice one bro, by the time they are through with the station, Anambra international airport fire station will make more sense than some local airport terminal buildings in Nigeria the trauma and emergency centre look smart
This is heartwarming
cjrane: I had been wondering what the side tower in the Anambra Airport Fire Station was for?
Then I google Category 9 Airport Fire Stations, and realized they were required to have their own Fire Commander's tower at the fire station to be compliant with the requirements!
Wow! They are truly not cutting corners. They are sticking to international regulations and best practices.
Obviously the Anambra international airport has met all the international standards and best practices. There's no reason there won't be direct flight from Anambra to Europe, Asia and even north America. Good
ChimaAdeoye: Lol...i knew the Chinese would always find a cheap way to fake everything. Instead of the universally accepted natural way. That is why nobody seriously trusts anything made by them when quality and safety of lives are involved. Due to a culture of low quality circumvention of safety. The same way no country bought their covid 19 vaccines, instead they would accept vaccines made in Russia or even India. No country has ordered Chinese commercial airplanes COMAC, instead they trust Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer more than supposedly technologically advanced Chinese.
I agree that we should plant grass and not do it like countries where quality and public safety isn't a greater priority than quick fake fixes for everything.
China has so many standards but bulk of their exports to Africa are substandard goods
OreMI22: I don't think NCAA will allow rugs that can be blown off by jet blast to be near a runway. Laying artificial rugs can never be allowed next to a runway in the name of making the area have a semblance of green grass near the runway. I'm sure ICAO will also not approve an airport with such dangerous rugs laid beside a runway or any debris whatsoever near a runway. Actually, the main purpose of the grass around the runway is to prevent erosion and not really for aesthetics. That is why the airports in the middle east where there is little rain don't even bother about grassing around their runway because they know erosion isn't a problem in the middle east due to poor rainfall. I think the idea of using grass seeds can work if the seeds are not washed off by heavy rainfall.
This is how powerful a jet blast is. No rug will stay on the ground for 5 minutes when subjected to this awesome blast force from jet engines. That is why it will be a safety hazard to use turfs instead of natural grass around a runway.
If you are an aviation enthusiast and you have been following the structural designs of new airports globally, you would know that Anambra airport exactly conformed and followed that new trend globally. In fact, you will easily know that the airport was designed by foreign experts who had built modern airports recently and not Nigerian architects who are addicted to SQUARES. As if a building could not be built unless it was a square with a triangular roof.
cjrane: Hopefully, they will get someone to plant grass and landscape the whole area properly. It will be a good project to offer some village farmers to uproot grass from somewhere around their farms and transplant the grass in these open spaces around the runway. The current rainy season will ensure the grasses take root and survive. Finishing is very important in projects like this to bring them to the proper international standard seen abroad.
You can only notice tire marks on the shoulder of the runway. However, it's quite gratifying that they don't drive cars on the main runway. So as not to clog it up with sand deposits from muddy car tires driving on it.
IGBOSON1: Concerning the new airport...things we’d like to see in the next couple of weeks are: the installation of the lifts and escalators in the terminal building; the installation of the lighting on the runway; landscaping of the entire premises and approach roads; the arrival of the new kickass fire-fighting trucks; wrapping up of works in the terminal building; and more!
That's very true of what we shall be expecting from the next update

Why Other Governorship Candidates Are Jealous Of Soludo – Emecheta
The convener of the Anambra Demands Soludo (ADS), Mr Jude Emecheta has given very vital reasons why he feels other governorship candidates are jealous and envious of Professor Soludo’s aspiration to succeed Governor Willie Obiano come November 6 this year.
Emecheta said unequivocally that the jealousy stems from his gigantic attainments especially as Prof. Soludo is a renowned and very respected world economist whose technical know-how and educational background has helped in resuscitating many ailing economies.
Emecheta who spoke with our correspondent in an exclusive interview in Awka maintained that other candidates are already developing cold feet and conceding defeat because they feel Soludo was too educated and too internationally exposed to govern Anambra State.
HERE IS HOW I OVERCOME QUICK RELEASE AND MADE IT BIGGER, STRONGER AND LONGER WITH THIS NAFDAC-APPROVED NATURAL REMEDY. CLICK NOW TO SEE!
Though he described Prof. Soludo as a change agent, economic reformer and one who has what it takes to bring the world to Anambra but according to him, those who are allergic to change are already crying foul because Prof. Soludo won’t condone mediocrity.
Emecheta said, “I am confident Soludo will win the majority of the votes in the south senatorial zone. People see him as a change agent. There is this peer group jealousy because he was a one-time governor of the apex bank; he is known worldwide and now he wants to become the state governor.
“The offence Soludo committed for aspiring to become the next governor is that he has come to turn Anambra state around and cause a transformational change in the system. A change that would be beneficial to every sector of the state economy. ”

OreMI22: The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) & Clinic is getting ready.
I love the fact they decided to use tiles instead of painting the walls! Top-notch high-quality stuff as usual! I see they are also not forgetting landscaping around the building.
Igboson, I'm sure you would like that!
Quite impressive. They are following every detail in the book, no short cut approach. Superb
Leave it in the hands of our egunje-loving....deal-seeking....e-no-concern-me civil servants and then come back in a years time to look and weep!
That's my point. Civil servants means no good at at. They are pillagers. One hope that there are plans already for professional aviation managers in place for proper management.
IGBOSON1: Are those steps leading up to the terminal building in the first pic? Hope there’s step-free access as well...for wheeling suitcases, those in wheelchairs and those pushing buggies!
Those steps leads into the terminal building. I am sure they will equally be ramp for the disabled and moveable/wheeled luggages
AmericanQuarter: Onwa Agwu Cultural Festival Holds At Agukwu- Nrị
By Blessing Uchendu (ABS Reporter)
Life Lager Beer has been endorsed by prominent Anambra traditional rulers as the most consumed alcoholic beverage in the state and the entire south east.
The endorsement was the major highlight at the Onwa Agwu Cultural Festival; a traditional event that mirrors and celebrates the ancestry and cultural history of Nrị, the cradle of Igbo civilization.
The Nigerian Breweries Plc has stood strongly for so many years as the brewer of historic alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages of which Life Lager is an age-long name among them.
Thus at Nrị; the ancestral head of Igbo origin, people from different paths of life came together to endorse Life Lager beer as the leading alcoholic beverage in Anambra State and South East.
The endorsement of Life Lager at the event was also replicated with names such as Onyeze also known as Mmanya Oganiru.
Performing the function, the Chairman, Anaocha Traditional Rulers' Council and the Traditional Ruler of Neni, Igwe Onwuamaeze Ezeani, said that Life Beer brand is the best for Ndị Igbo and urged the manufacturers not to relent in extending in its coperate social responsibility.
In their remarks, the Regional Business Manager, East, Nigeria Breweries Plc, Mr Austin Aka and the Corporate Affairs Manager, East of the firm, Lady Joy Egolum, said that the aim of the endorsement from Nri Ancient Kingdom was to let all Igbo people know that Life Beer is the king among other beer brands and commended the Nri Ancient Kingdom for welcoming them.
Dignitaries at the event included the President General Nrị Town Union, Chief Kelvin Obiegbunam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr Uche Nworah, Portfolio Manager, Mainstream Lager, Mrs Kehinde Kadiri, among other personalities from both the firm and host community.
Investiture on Life Beer with Aká (traditional Igbo beads) and a red cap, both singifying Igbo royalty and grandeur, and cultural displays by different dance groups in Nri Ancient Kingdom made the event worthwhile.
Due to the success story of Hero beer within a few years in Anambra, life beer is now pushing to compete. The multinational Abinbev the makers of Hero, Budweiser, etc has better products and more market strategies
AmericanQuarter: Gov. Obiano's Narratives of Excellence. Focus on the succession plan.
"In a sense, Obiano’s efforts to have a competent successor like Soludo is a powerful reminder of the implied wisdom in the popular proverb that “a society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.”
"It has to be stated, that the emergence of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as the candidate of the ruling party with a clear chance of victory in the coming election raises hopes of a greater Anambra State.
There is probably no better person to continue Obiano’s legacy than Soludo who is a consultant to 20 international development and financial institutions, a former Chief Economic Adviser to the President, a former Governor of CBN and a chairman or member of 25 committees. His pedigree as an achiever has been confirmed with over 200 national and international awards".
APGA has stabilized the political atmosphere in Anambra for steady development
