By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent)

At the request of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has deployed another operational a
surveillance helicopter (5N-LEH), to the Anambra State Police Command.

A test flight was carried out today, Friday,24th July, 2020, where the helicopter took off from DO field, Amawbia, flew over the premises and took off to embark on test surveillance.

From within the cockpit, operators are able to send out digitally clear surveillance pictures and videos to a ground crew who process same for further action by the authorities if need be.

Speaking to the ABS at the state police command headquarters, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed said that the helicopter was deployed by the Inspector General of Police on the request of Governor Obiano and the state commissioner of police, Mr. John Abang, pointing out that it will aid in accessing difficult terrain in the state, as well as aid in monitoring farmers'/herders' conflict.

Mr Mohammed stressed that the helicopter will complement the already existing security architecture in the state, noting that the surveillance has commenced with immediate effect as it will help crime detection and prevention.

While appreciating Governor Obiano for his supportive role which has facilitated their duty, Mr Mohammed noted that the command has achieved alot within the shortest time.

With the deployment of the helicopter, security of life and property of residents in the state have received a major boost.

Recall that Anambra state government had in 2019 launched smart city policing, deploying smart cars and mobile surveillance cameras at strategic locations in the state to help the crime fighting efforts of the securty agencies.
Obiano understands the importance of security to the development of any state. This has helped in continued influx of investment into Anambra.

Please stop quoting me if you don't want to learn. The case of Onitsha is different from Awka. Onitsha developed and swallowed many LGAs naturally and those areas became Onitsha metro.

It is different in the case of Awka, 6LGAs were mapped out to form what's known as Awka capital territory. So any time you hear someone mention AWKA, it is no longer the Awka you knew before state creation.

That hotel is located at Nibo Road AWKA. It is not until I write Awka capital territory in full before you know where that's being referred
.

Area4Area:
Your insult won't be tolerated next time.
Are you talking about Awka metro area that has started encompassing towns and communities around it as expected just as we have Onitsha metro area comprising of Nkpor, Awada Obosi, Onitsha etc or you're talking of Awka town itself?

Mechionu nwokem. The hotel is on Nibo road, Awka. Anytime you hear of Awka, it is no longer the Awka that you knew before state creation, it is Awka Capital Territory that is being referred to as Awka at the moment. A time will even come when someone at Ukpo will see himself as being in Awka because development as part of the capital territory would have spread across the surrounding towns. Seek for knowledge and stop arguing like an illiterate.

Area4Area:
You are the one trying to confuse yourself.
You earlier stated the hotel is located along Nibo road Awka. I told you it's actually situated in Nibo and you're telling me as I don't know that both are in Awka South LGA and in the ACTDA.
Can't you see the difference, Nibo road Awka and Nibo itself? Go seek for knowledge and stop misinforming people here, I guess you're from Awka and believe everything good must be sited there.
Politics › Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by ANSMEDIA:
Area4Area:
How many times have I told you that that hotel is located in Nibo and not Awka?
Please stop confusing yourself. The Awka I mean here is the Awka Capital Territory which has 6 LGAs.

The Capital Territory consists of six (6) Local Government Areas (LGAs), in part or in whole: Anaocha, Awka North, Awka South,Dunukofia, Njikoka and Orumba North

Some of you should seek knowledge about things you don't know.
