Ogbeche77: I never mentioned the arab uprising is bloodless..yes, everything is so messed up in Nigeria but a bloody revolution ain't the solution trust me..
The arab nations that have tried it are currently regretting it, even with there one language & religion that they practice. A country like Libya is witnessing an a bloody ethnic war, Egypt & Tunisia are yet to get there bearing..
Now think of a revolution in Nigeria where tribalism is the order of the day, coupled with over 250 ethnic groups with religious intolerance.. O boy.. You don't wanna think of it.. It will be counter productive

So what do think will be a solution in a place like nigeria where people generally see honest and hard working people as foolish people because it is easy to get into a position of authority, steal and become bastardly overnight rich without anybody raising an eyebrow? What kind of orientational drive will change that when almost the whole country think that way?
Politics / Re: Police Dismiss Sgt. Omeleze Caught On Tape Negotiating Bribe by antartica(m): 9:30pm On Aug 07, 2013
Ogbeche77: Bro what we need is re orientation & not bloody revolution.. We should learn from events in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia & Syria in recent days, revolution ll never take the sycophants out of power, it ll only take the country 1,000 years behind... You don't want your grand kids to spit on your grave, do you?

Are u implying arab spring is bloodless?Don't you know how thousands have died so far across the arab world since the spring began?Nothing good comes on a platter, especially in situation where fundamental ignorance has eaten deep into the fibre of the society like nigerian society. Not one single thing is upright in nigeria, not even christianity.Everything is crooked, everybody is crooked and twisted down to even children.

I agree but it takes 1 person to create change thanks to d camera dude/lady 1 down plenty more to go na small small. If u do ur own part as a Nigerian u will get dat oga too cut and dismissed don't just stay on NL to complain, take 1 down.

They forget it is a big world we live and that nigeria is no longer immune to the watchful eyes of big brother with the proliferation of cheap technology. And if they must follow the flow, they must have to change their ways.

I play my role every moment by staying upright.Only the guilty are afraid.
Politics / Re: Police Dismiss Sgt. Omeleze Caught On Tape Negotiating Bribe by antartica(m): 8:47pm On Aug 07, 2013
Ogbeche77: that's character assassination, have you any evidence that the IG is part of this corrupt cartel? The man has been doing his best since he assumed office, our police officers need re-orientation

It is like asking the same about the president when it is obvious he is thief like the rest of the politicians. My friend forget all the facts nonsense, nigeria is ruled by prolific thieves and that is why those that can not steal are chronically suffering. The country requires bloody revolution to flush all the animals out,if not nothing will change.

Not too long ago there was a post from a nairalander in lagos that said a policeman march him to cash point to collect bribe because he didn't have enough in his wallet to give.I don't know if this has anything to do with that?

How about the oga he called on the phone the negotiate the bribe price?Corruption in nigerian police force is a norm that the socalled ig is a part and parcel of.

Nigerians concept of heroism is their tribesmen/women ability to steal plentifully from the public coffers scotfree.A local government chairperson that may not have a motorcycle before he/she is elected will boast of mansions and fleets of exotic cars just a year into the office and nobody will care to know how the wealth came about.Nigerians only worship money and power,no matter how crooked and foo.lish the rich person maybe,as long as he gives them pittance intermitently, they are ever ready to sing praises.

When i saw the write up of the white south african about the blacks in south africa,i didn't think much about the blacks in south africa, rather my mind went straight to nigerian situation because everything he mentioned is what is happening in nigeria. There are no set rules in nigeria,no precedences and no common sense.Nothing works and the people are so use to chaos to the extent that they think that doing things right is being fooilish.Everybody is a thief.

Longeria: His offence can be challenged in court, what are you waiting?

Nigeria is country ruled by f'ool because the people they rule are more or less fo;olish.Even the law courts and the police are run by f;ools.

Thieves in nigeria are seen as heroes,if not 99 percent of the ruling elite will be in jail.
Politics / Re: Akwa Ibom 'deportation Of Non Indigenes', Joe Igbokwe Lied, Says Akwa Ibom Govt by antartica(m): 6:21pm On Aug 06, 2013
If it a confirmed case that people are mentally insane, getting intouch with their families to take care of them is a saintly act.But a case of deporting mentally sound destitutes, the homeless and the physically disable for roaming the streets or begging harmlessly in their own country is nazi like.

sharp man: I am sorry, but our brothers from the South South have shown that they are not bothered about the level of corruption in the country, as long as the thief is one of them. Bad people elect bad leaders. May God save us from this hopeless nation called Nigeria.

To them ibori is sharp man that played the nigerian game well.He managed to steal like obj and co and shouldn't be held culprits while criminals like atiku are stealing making political statements. That is what they are on about and that is what nigeria is all about-devouring the national cake.

was the mall built while he is in office? Is he building the mall 4 his state or 4 himself?

Good question. He sounds more like a traitor to me if that is true. With all the bad experiences ibos are getting outside ibo land, one would have expected right thinking ibos to be little a more selfish and less greedy with their investments prowess now and restrict them to their region. In as as much as it might not be economically very viable now like it is in abuja, but in time to come it will.

Bob_E:

I guess you have never read the Bible or a very dull student for that matter, was it another man that told Abraham to kill his son, for an amount of money?.

It happened because this guy is a murderer and should be treated as such; he should be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The same hypnotic voices both heard. He could have attributed to something minor, since god do sanction killing of children sometimes, coupled with nigerian desperate syndrome.
Politics / Re: Internal Deportation Of Citizens: Is It Constitutional? by antartica(m): 5:13pm On Aug 06, 2013
Arosa:

Are we talking about destitutes that were relocated to their place of origin? destitutions is not a fundamental human right it's a nuisance to society.

In a rational situation a destitute who is not involve in crime has a better right to move freely in lagos than say political criminals like Tinubu. It is not crime to be utterly poor in one's country, but an immortal crime for the socalled government to neglect the weak and vulnerable

They don't seem to be any law in nigeria.Judges and magistrates detain suspects indefinitely for no proven offense and the hired suspects lawyers are never able to question and prove them wrong.

You have a good point, but now we know that this policy has nothing to do with tribe.

I hope the moderators see fit to put this on the front page so that we can all have cooler heads.

It could mean the indigenous PH people feel threatened by the ibos too? Most of the high profile names from that area sounds ibo,i.e,amaechi, chime and co.

I can see why lagos state is trying to ban people from hanging their washed okrikas outside. Dressing like oyinbo caricatures in tropical heat is the kind of things that makes them see themselves as progressive, first class uppities.

What history books are they reading?
Family / Re: Are Intelligent Women Less Likely To Want Children? by antartica(m): 2:44pm On Aug 06, 2013
They are most likely to have the number of children to can conveniently take care of. Because being intelligent will mean one will fundamentaly understand the essence of children and the uselessness of having them when one can't afford them.

A day never goes by that they will not compliment my big a$$ Afro "I love your hair its so awesome" I represent at trade shows with some type of African attire they always have to come an compliment me on my style. We should really appreciate ourselves. Even though sometimes at the hotel conventions when we wear lace and gele they will come to me and say "I love your Costume" grin grin grin

How come you don't show off the costumes here on nairaland?or are we talking about the same thing here of facebook being better than nairaland?

wow so technology is a curse to humanity? Start by smashing that phone/computer/tablet or whatever U are using wink and please stick to your Yoruba or igbo everywhere U go. Sell you car and get a donkey. When next you are sick don't visit a hospital. By all means say no to mental slavery cheesy

Perverted means the bad technologies and pollutions which seems to outnumber the good ones,a mistakengly triggered nuclear war head today can obliterate massive population of the earth in a flash.

And one thing that you fail to understand is that man can do without those flimsy things that trips you, phones, computer tablets and co,but the fact that they are readily available makes you think you can't do without.Man adapts to whatever situation it finds himself and he can equally adapt to living without technology that will in turn safeguard him from pollutions and imminent self destruction.

Don't be taken by oyinbo ways,it is not always the best.
