lol you might be so reluctant to accept the fact that they are the light of the world but one thing is sure. If white men didn't bring civilization you'll be on your way to the farm with cutlass and hoe grin

And what about that? The key thing is to stay alive harmoniously and protect the environment without all the perverted technology and pollutions that turn out to more curse to humanity that living the simple way.

The shame of a nation.Instead of taking care of them, they are displacing them more. And funny enough the same people(politicians) that hates the sight of beggars are the root cause of chronic inequality in nigeria as a result of unchecked looting of public funds.

if you are hell bent on showcasing your cultural heritage at every given time then by all means get rid of your non-cultural clothes, U can trek to work or better still ride a donkey. We are quick ti embrace planes, cars, computers and mobile phones but we still feel dressing to work the western way is not African. Its African. Its the global trend and it should be embraced. There should be dress codes for public officials and its the norm all over the world. Take a look at pictures from AU summits and tell me how many countries are trying to showcase their cultural heritage. The same public officials showcasing the so called cultural heritage wear agbada and launder our money into foreign bank accounts. Why should doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc wear suits and western clothings when the public officials are exempted? Shouldn't we cease every given opportunity to show case our cultural heritage Or are these the only people that should be mentally enslaved like u claim?

Suits and ties are no longer western culture, just the same way English is now a global language. Its either we embrace civilisation or we get left behind while embracing our cultural heritage.

Just because english language and oyinbo fashion is global still does not mean it is your heritage.A strong message is still been sent out there to tell you that they, the oyinbos, are the light of the world and the rest like you must abide and follow.

It doesn't have to be like that,no one culture is main to dominate the other, unless of course the people of the dominated culture are dead mentally and that spells a lot doom just like in the case of today's africa.

No, it's not. They did not start off wearing suits, whatever they had before metamorphosed into what they are wearing now based on looks comfort and practicality.

Metamorphosis like you said is the process of change, innovation and if you don't have anything to call your own to change, you won't metamorphosize.

I agree flowing agbada is not very practical for physical work but good enough for meetings, conferences and ceremonies, just like suits and tie. While a simple designed shokoto and top is more practical than suit/tie in a corporate working hot environment like nigeria.

thank you!!! You don't have to come to work dressed in agbada before you showcase your cultural heritage. Official matters shouldn't be avenue to showcase cultural heritage.

You guys tend to forget that suits is the cultural heritage of the oyinbos,a fashion designed by them to suit their taste and environment and its unquestionable infallibility for african work environment is what you are not proving.

How is suit and tie better than casual kaftan in a bank?

LOVE.HAPPINESS:
To those who disagree, it must be remembered that China went through an extremely violent "cultural revolution" where millions died and everyone else was made to modernize by force.

It laid the groundwork for their miraculous 30 year transformation from one of the poorest and most backward civilizations, to one of the richest and most advanced.

We don't need a violent revolution in Naija, but we DO need to embrace change. At international meetings, GEJ is the only head of state wearing traditional dress, except for some tiny island nations. Everyone else is wearing a suit.

To mobile users who cannot see the photo below, Jonathan is surrounded by Presidents and Heads of State from over 30 nations (including South Africa, China, India, etc). He is the only one wearing traditional dress, other than the Prime Minister of India who is wearing a head covering for religious reasons.

That is one the greatest things gej has ever done.He represented by standing out as a true african. The way people dress speaks volume about them, especially in their own country.

Nairaland front page has really gone to the dogs with Tinubu knee operation making front page.Shamefully,he might be doing it abroad like all the useless rich nigerians and secondly,he will be wasting our stolen loot boosting oyinbo health service.

What is there to talk about a thief like Tinubu than to catch him, lock him up for good or publicly execute him?Just like the shame of ibori people celebrating his birthday while he is in cage in far away england for crimes against the same people and nigerian state, the yorubas collectively made thiefnibu their leader.

And it makes one begin to wonder if there is any rational human being in nigeria at all?

If the writer understands the strategy, drive, ulterior motives and racial undertones of the oyinbo in making the world adapt his fashion, language, etiquettes and moral ethics,he will be asking himself, why must it be the oyinbo ways? Why can't it be different?

The writer is an epitome of african mental sickness, fundamentally understanding all the wrongs of this world to be right.

Thank you for this un-deserved vote of confidence, Antarctica, but I am now more qualified to run for president than a carpenter would be to perform brain surgery.

Fashola is DA MAN. Vote Fashola for Nigeria's president in 2015, and the world will turn.

You never use to take side, except for your immortal hate for buhari. Before i would have easily agreed with your instinct,But right now fashola is coming across as a tribal warlord on a zealous mission for odua republic. He is not taking nigeria along on his mission.
Politics / Re: Dear Men, Beat Your Woman In Lagos And Go To Jail by antartica(m): 2:44pm On Aug 05, 2013
Jakumo: Without any hesitation whatsoever, Ogami Akin, I repeat that there is no single human being alive today who is better suited that Raji Fashola, to being elected as Nigeria's next president and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, real or imagined political godfathers notwithstanding.

Why don't you see yourself as the future president that will do way better than fashola?Or are you not a nigerian?Don't tell me you are not a politician because all man are political amimals.
Politics / Re: Dear Men, Beat Your Woman In Lagos And Go To Jail by antartica(m): 2:38pm On Aug 05, 2013
Jakumo:

Oh yes, absolutely, true, Akin. Federal power is mighteir than state power, and Fashola is by far the best qualified person alive to be Nigeria's next president.

Not with his tribal, class and physical profiling of nigerian citizens that sounds more like the emergence of the nazis in nazi germany.

Waste disposal, cleaning and recycling is quite a big business that is overripe and ready to be tapped into in nigeria. It should be privatized and well subsidized by the faceless governments.

What laws applies to women that beats men in nigeria, especially in lagos where there a lot of ogbologbo women?

Assaults of any kind should be treated sternly, including the frequent assaults of the police, kai and army on the hapless citizens.

Nigerian women are becoming really wild.It is good, people should be able to express themselves without having to think about what other or god says.

It is not what goes into a man that defiles a man,it is what comes out of it.The mindset.
