PoliticsRe: Nigerian To Become World's Richest Soon by AnthoniO(m): 3:32pm On Oct 09, 2008
i'm happy that nigerians have started learning to sue and claim their rights.
Do you know that if we start sueing MTN for all the poor services, one could claim that he lost a business deal worth N1 million due to bad network, he'll not only hit lots of money from the law suit, but MTN will also sit up.
Guys this is great news.
PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Be Divided? by AnthoniO(m): 11:01pm On Sep 15, 2008
I happen to have been in the midst of European friends for quite a while and there is something an Austrian friend always tells me that strikes me real hard.
He always says
"The biggest problem of Africa is that the colonial masters just drew up shapes and called them nations, cutting tribes across nations and binding tribes that have nothing together in common, into one nation."
Europe is the most developed continent. Why, because most nations in Europe are very homogeneous. What do i mean by that? Homogeneous in the sense that since they were not colonized, tribes/ethic groups metamorphosed into countries. The homogeneity in Europe is so much that Edo and core Yoruba are more different in language than Spanish and Portuguese, yet Spain and Portugal are two different countries!
In Europe a difference as much as the difference between Yoruba and Edo would have resulted in two different countries talk less of the huge differences that exist in the entity called Nigeria!
I foresee Nigeria splitting sooner or later. The Igbo (like the jews) will always be led out of captivity.
With the exploits and technological advancements the Igbos achieved during the war, it was speculated that if the igbos had seceeded, they would have been a real technological superpower in Africa at least.

Do you know what it means to start a war with 120 police rifles and sustain the war for a very long time on locally made bombs and stealth airports till you can get foreign supplies?
Do you know how ebulient a tribe can be for a war that Gowon wrote off in the beginning as "We would overrun them in 30 days" to last 3 years?
DO you know what it means to be Igbo?
I bet you guys don't. The igbo' really surprised the world in the Biafran War.

I was speaking with an elderly man sometime ago and he told me that one of the British Lords Qualified the Yorubas as "The are as gullible as the British weather".
That was why they betrayed and "gullibly" turned against agreements in the biafran war.
I rest my case for now

Jascobee
why are u taking the whole thing so personal?
Saying that ppl are lying (in OBJ's spirit)? What if it turns out that u are the one functioning in OBJs spirit?
Well it may have turn out so because i went to GTB to open one and i was told that I could get one dom account up and running in about a mnth all things being equal.
Take heed. What what u say cos u cant take it back.
BusinessRe: Which Bank Has The Best Domiciliary Account Services? by AnthoniO(m): 9:13pm On Aug 24, 2008
what on earth were u thinking when u went to UBA?
Tha bank has a very bad reputation in terms of customer service. If they are unable to perform in normal savings and current accounts, how then can they perform in stuffs dom accounts?
A Dom account is a very technical thing. U need a dynamic bank to be able to handle stuffs like wire transfers and your mastercard stuff. Remember that if u have a dom account, you'll likely be communicating with your bank via emails and phone calls because you'll likely be out of the country. I don't see UBA being able to respond to your emails talk less of responding on time!
You should have gone to GTBank right from the word go!
Zenith may be second.

EducationRe: Lets Compare Our Universities by AnthoniO(m): 5:06pm On Feb 03, 2008
Yeah I agree. UNIBEN is the bomb.
However, FUTO is the most highly rated engineering University in Nigeria. I am not really talking about NUC rating (even though COREN ranks them high) but I mean in the industry. In PH, FUTO students dominate oil companies. In lagos, they dominate the engineering circle and most IT departments of banks have many FUTOites.
If you doubt, meet any body in the industry and ask and hear for yourself.
SportsRe: First Round Match: Nigeria (2) Vs Benin (0)! by AnthoniO(m): 11:26am On Jan 28, 2008
You may all be surprised that Cote D'Ivoire will beat Mali and Nigeria will still not be able to beat Benin.
How does that sound? Funny, right?
Watch and see.
Technology MarketRe: Enjoy 24/7 Power Supply by AnthoniO(m): 5:22pm On Jan 26, 2008
What's the power rating?
How much is it with batteries?
How many batteries are needed for x hours of operation?
Be a little bit more detailed. Giving your prices without the cost of the baterry, the power rating and how long it can last is a little bit vague .
Thanks

I think it will be wiser to quote in Naira so that it'll be easier easier for one to estimate the price by just looking at it. At least there'll be no need for calculation.
Thanks.

Dear Colleauges,
Inasmuch as a referral thread may be cool I wish to also state that a criminal genius can outsmart us.
Look at this scenario:
I create 5 different login accounts for nairaland and give myself enough positive attestations with the 5 different accounts, posing as different people and claiming i bought this and that from "myself" and that "I" was so reliable and credible in business, just to lure peole into buying from me.

What sayest ye to that?

TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Is Bad For Africa - Let Us Fight Moral Exploitation! by AnthoniO(m): 4:35pm On Nov 14, 2007
It's obvious that Big Brother Africa is going to sow a seed of moral decadence in our society. A situation where a man is openly handling a lady's private part on screen ( i doubt if texazzpete knows) cannot be accepted by a community with high moral standards.
You need to see the reaction on the net.
http://www.google.com.ng/search?gbv=2&svnum=10&hl=en&q=%2Bbig%20%2Bbrother%20%2Bafrica%20%2Brichard%20%2Brapist&oe=UTF-8&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=iw

@ texazzpete
The level of aggression conveyed in your tone of speech towards bigafrica goes a long way to show that you can fight for a meaningless cause. There are many meaningful ways of entertaining people like "who wants to be a millionaire" and other soap operas that have life lessons to teach.
A few questions for you:

1) Would you allow your sister to be fondled on T.V even if only adults (above 30, not even 16 as BBA is rated) were watching? I'm not talking about mild handling. Read here:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-49369.1568.html#msg1626009

http://www.africanwomenblogs.com/story.php?title=Skandali+ya+Richard%2C+Mshindi+wa+Big+Brother+Africa+II
(scroll to the english part)

2)As a married man, would you sleep with a lady on screen? N.B. Richard is married though his wife is going for a divorce because of the "consensual sex" he had on tv.

Dear texazzpete think of your values and try to channel you arguement energy on useful causes. Cheers
Politics34000 Vacancies In Oyo State;thanks To Akala + Adedibu by AnthoniO(op): 7:12am On Sep 21, 2007
All the 34,000 civil servants in Oyo who have been on strike for three weeks were on Wednesday sent into the cold embrace of unemployment.

Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala fired them through a statement issued in Ibadan by his Special Assistant (Public Communication), Dotun Oyelade, who said the government has been pushed to the wall.

Because of this, the statement explained, the government had no choice than to invoke the Civil Service rule, as contained in the General Order that any civil servant who absents himself from work illegally shall be summarily dismissed.

EducationWhy Do Futo Graduates Dominate Engineering? by AnthoniO(op): 12:55pm On Jul 14, 2007
Please I need nairalanders to comment on why FUTO Graduates seem to dominate the big engineering firms in Nigeria. Factually, They always outperform every school every year in engineering test. SITP Results have consistently had Futo guys dominating the result sheet. Each year, the results of Shell, Mobil, Halliburton, Total, Schlumberger etc, tests always have FUTO graduates having the highest sucess rates. Even in EXXONMobil Lagos where UNILAG and maybe IFE graduates are expected to dominate, FUTO old boys are the highest in population. In schlumberger it is said that whenever a new FUTO graduate is employed his older colleagues echo welcome to FUTO alumni!!!. Shell PortHacourt is the worst. Why is it Sohuh?
EducationRe: Nigerian Emerges Best Student Mathematician In Africa by AnthoniO(m): 1:23pm On Apr 22, 2007
Men, Come to think of It. Igbo Guys are really trying in terms of having a high intellectual ability. Even though our schools like UNN, UniZIK,FUTO are not as large as the schools in the west OAU and co. Our products are speaking.
Emeagwali, one of the greatest african computer scientists/Mathematicians is an Igbo
Prof. Chukwuma Soludo winner of the 2004 World best CBN governor of the Year is Igbo
Prof. Chike Obi one of the gratest african mathematicians is Igbo.
Imagine what would happen if we have advanced schools. The west (youruba's) appear to be better in literary arts like law, literature etc but obviously not pure sciences. Soyinka, Fawehinmi are examples of their verbal intelligence. In dealing with numbers and abstract reasoning we still top. Maybe that's why we are good with money and business : wink
