Education › Re: So The 'O' In BODMAS Doesn't Stand For "OF" by Anyi3(m): 2:08pm On Jul 19, 2016 |
Honestly as a kid, hearing "of" didn't sound right. It just didn't flow. I reasoned that it's only few times you'd actually hear the word of and that's when the maths question is in sentence format. When maths is written in equations, "of" made no sense. But then the "adults are right" mentality over wrote that. I'm so glad I've learnt this now
They really ought to give us an apology. |

I'm not buying this "lay all the blame at the lecturer"
Sometimes, yeah lecturers need to do more in imparting knowledge but we should not exclude these two factors:
Poor teaching environment, for instance 100 students in a 50 student capacity class etc
Secondly, students need to also bear the blame. Under that same condition, someone got a B. Even students that don't read and then fail would still open their lips to scream the lecturer is wicked. If you bring their scripts, you'd be shocked by the nonsense they write. |

Infinitikoncept: Detaining for investigation purpose is great? I'm sure by the time this practice becomes widespread because we feel its not our turn today so who cares it would have been too late for us as a nation. Very soon the police will hold you in detention because they want to investigate you for a funny case If the EFCC did it by themselves you'd say Injustice. Now the EFCC have legal backing, you're still implying Injustice. I give up..... |
Politics › Re: Forgery Suit: Senate Issues Fresh Summon On AGF by Anyi3(m): 12:36am On Jun 29, 2016 |
VERDA: I think the question should be if it is lawful for the executive to concern itself with the internal affairs of the legistlative. From what i read yhe forgery issue was dealt with twice on the floor and put to rest. From what I read, it was reported by senators to the police who investigated and forwarded to the Minister of Justice. Plus, know that key witnesses against the senate president are sitting senators. I doubt it was put to rest on the house floor |

onepluone: Point of correction, nairaland is a forum not adjudicator.
It is most unfortunate that the site has been hijacked by paid blogger who supports a tyranical government.
In most civilised countries, the Senate is the most powerful arm of government becos their voice is the voice of the people.
We all know wat Buhari want to do with the Senate.
We have all seen wat he has done with the military and Abuja Courts.
We have seen his appointment pattern.
We will resist any attempt to over run our Senate.
We will resist islamisation via northernisation.
We will resist? From the comfort of your bed From your first sentence, Nairaland is not an adjudicator. The courts are, the Senate leaders should go there and sort it out not writing to US and UN |
Politics › Re: Forgery Suit: Senate Issues Fresh Summon On AGF by Anyi3(m): 10:17pm On Jun 28, 2016 |
onepluone: All this paid blogers that live on nairaland just keep supporting tyranny. If the legislative can obey Judiciary. The Executive should obey the legislative. It is called separation of power. It is in the minister of justice interest to obey the senante. Our democracy must survive Buhari one man goverbnment. Oga, the minister of Justice has a job to prosecute irregularities, powers given to him by the legislative. Why is it a problem when he prosecutes the Senate leaders for irregularities, are they above the law? The issue anybody on the sidelines needs to ask is was forgery committed or not and not running from pillar to post blaming the Executive. If not these Senate leaders could as well commit murder and not be prosecuted. |

BetaThings: I also disagree that power and manufacturing alone will solve our problem Power supply is important but Countries that have high unemployment are not in that situation because of low power generation And we cannot fix manufacturing overnight - competitiveness is an issue; how can we easily compete with cheap products from China when advanced economies are not finding it easy against that country
if people can use their homes to access loans and commit same to business, it will significantly reduce the problem of access to finance Access loans and commit to business in this unfavourable business climate where you spend so much on power. Eventually running into issues. But what exactly do you mean, people already use their homes as collateral to access loans, so what's your angle here? |

Boss13: I see and get your point. I do not intend to belittle your opinion. However, do you know the tax incentives in this country? You would be amazedat the tax incentives, but what has it done?
The problem with manufacturing/productivity is not power, but cost of finance.
Also use this opportunity to browse about the effect of a good housing policy. Well, let's hope for good implementation of this housing policy being touted. Shalom |

id911: Do these guys think we are all fools or what?Did we ask you whether he declared it in CCB form? The question is: how did he get about N200 million as a carrier army officer to purchase those properties?Remember by law he is not allowed to work or do any other business while still with the army.
Are they saying i can steal but when i declare it i can go scot free? Why is FG defending this Burutai instead of investigating him? I dont get it I'm no Buhari or APC or Burutai apologetic. Lemme say that first so you understand my drift. The onus lies on the accuser to proof. If things work that way, everybody should be probed by EFCC, when they buy a car or rent a house above their average income. Someone who has some link to him abusing funds needs to come through saying how and then EFCC takes it from there. |
