LordAdam16: The Qataris and the Gulf all knew the US would have foreknowledge because the US and Israel had floated it multiple times in the past and were rebuffed.
But they all have to keep up appearances.
The issue now is why the Israelis are raising dust again after all 3 parties had agreed on a narrative. Israel unilaterally launched the attack. The Americans learned about it when it was too late. The Qataris were informed after the missiles had been fired.
It appears the US denials have created a political snowstorm where everyone wants to dogpile on Israel. Even those who are pissed at the US are transferring their aggression that should be directed at the US to Israel. Case in point, of all the measures that have been proposed as a response to the attack, no one has said anything about the US presence, inadequacy, and responsibility. In all their statements condemning Israel, only Iran I think, barely mentioned the US. Essentially, the framing is that Israel is a rabid pest that can no longer be restrained by the US, so the Ummah should go all out to batter Israel diplomatically and economically. Qatar is pushing this and everyone is enthusiastically keying into it, because it'd allow those who still want to preserve their US partnership to do so. Even the Europeans and Anglosaxons favor this.
The Israelis are uncomfortable with this turn of events and are now signaling that they have no intention of catching all the flak when the US is the premier co-conspirator. In fact, in all of this, the US has not made a public statement or made public overtures to try to soften the blowback on Israel. They don't want to draw attention to their culpability. Rubio was in Israel today and said nothing that'd diplomatically help Israel wrt to the Qatar attack.
-Lord It's very obvious. The Yahooboy's camp is becoming very uncomfortable. While it is still unclear what this will lead to in the short term, one thing is now certain: In a potential Israel/Iran 2.0, the Tel Aviv gangster will no longer get the most support it was getting from the Arab collaborators. And that's bad news for the IDF. Killing Haniyeh in Iran was not seen as a terrorist act by much of the western world because of the beef with Tehran. But attempting the same act in Doha is a different ball game. Not only does it jeopardize US relations with its allies,l in the ME, it also legitimize the claim that Israel is hell bent on genocide and endless wars. This is why the Americans are now distancing themselves from this current chaos. To make things worst, they've succeeded in setting a bad precedent. Israeli civic officials are now a legitimate target for both state and no state actors in a any theatre of hostilities. I repeat. If the US don't do away with Netanyahoo, they should be ready for more loss of influence and strategic partnership in the ME. There is no way these blatant acts of aggression and madness can continue any further without serious blowbacks on Israel and the US. The anger all over the world, even from the western hemisphere is tilting gradually into overt reaction. |

LordAdam16: Venezuela offered Russia La Orchilla to serve as an air base for strategic bombers in 2009.
Russia in particular, because China power projection as a concept is a recent affair, somewhat bungled the geopolitical game in the Western Hemisphere. Russia should have used power projection in Latin America as a tit for tat response to NATO moves it disagreed with. But usually what would happen is that they'll temporarily deploy some trainers or contractors, send a few ships to patrol the region, announce new military contracts, and call it a day. Otherwise, with the long list of NATO/US provocations in Europe and the Middle East, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba should be little Kaliningrads. Just slowly escalate as NATO expand, deploy forces, conduct exercises, and become more belligerent.
-Lord I think the reason Russia did not prioritize the tit-for-tat approach with NATO is the fact that when shit hits the fan, the whole of NATO, including the US mainland is assured complete annihilation. Russia possesses missile systems with the capability to strike the US mainland in under 10-15 minutes, specifically submarine-launched ballistic missiles. While Russia has developed advanced hypersonic systems like the Avangard and Kinzhal, their primary means of rapid attack against the US relies on intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs), which can reach targets within the United States in the specified timeframe. |

LordAdam16: The Israelis are now leaking to the media that Trump was aware. According to Channel 12, Satanyahu personally called Trump fifty minutes before the strike to inform him.
I wonder why they feel the need to yap like a canary and destroy 47's credibility (whatever is left of it).
-Lord There was no way the US couldn't have been aware of the strikes before it happened. This fact is what is really irritating the Qatarists. Just that they're not saying it openly other than venting anger on Israel. Trump can kiss his Noble Peace prize dream goodbye. His impotency over Israel is so glaring. The Israelis ate singing now because they didn't envisage the reaction they're seeing now. From European countries now openly calling for a sport ban on Israel to all Arab nations holding an emergency meeting in Doha, the Yahooboy is becoming apprehensive and is trying to deflate by pointing fingers to his supposed lord in Washington that no one can question. This pattern was similar to the event that led to the 12D with Iran. |

No Arab spring will succeed anywhere at this time. The ship has already sailed. Thanks to Netanyahoo who have succeeded in uniting much of the world against Israel. Even some die-hard pastors in America are now calling out Israel's atrocity. You can fool some of the people all of the time. You can fool all of the people some of the time. But you cannot fool all of the people all the time. The Yahooboy in Tel Aviv will learn the hard way. |

They have nothing to lose anymore US and Israel have done what nobody thought could happen by bombing them. They should just go for this b0mb. LordAdam16: All of that is true. Still, you always have to assume that the Arabs are braindead. Saudi Arabia refused to accept BRICS membership even though they have the only foreign Chinese rocket force deployment in the world.
Expect the Qataris to sign the new defense cooperation agreement Washington drops on their desks after this display of impotency.
If China is not active in the region, there is no telling how bad things can get. These are the same clowns who employed the services of Jihadis to oust a rival and are thinking the chicken will never come home to roost.
-Lord I understand your points quite alright. Still, you have to consider China's foreign policy approach, vis-a-vis MENA. Beijing has made significant inroads in this region at a time when western influence is waning rapidly. And it does this without firing a single aggressive nor oppressive shot in sharp contrast to its western rivals. While we have every reason to believe the ruling class in this region are beyond pathetic, certain actions taken by them suggest they're not altogether braindead. 12 out of the 19 MENA states now view China an alternate great power, favouring closer ties with Beijing ahead of the US and Europe. As at 2022, 18 Arab nations had signed cooperation agreements with China in the framework of the BRI to create synergies between the Initiative and their national development plans, such as the GCC monarchies’ Visions, Algeria’s Vision 2035, and Morocco’s Mohammed VI Tangier Tech City Project. In fact, the region received the greatest share of China's BRI. On July last year, Saudi Arabia announced a deeper defense partnership with China after a meeting between Chinese Ambassador Zhang Hua and General Fayyadh Al-Ruwaili, Chief of the Saudi Armed Forces. Notably, on November that same year, the Saudi government announced it would no longer pursue a comprehensive defense treaty with the U.S. that was contingent on normalization with Israel. The excuse was the lack of progress over a Gaza ceasefire deal and Israel’s rejection of a two-state solution, Riyadh opted for a more limited security agreement with Washington. China's influence was glaring. Similarly, European powers have lost strategic ground as Chinese influence expands. A lot more has happened ever since. The likes of Saudi Arabia may not be in BRICS or in the SCO today, but the road to these alternate organizations is getting broader for most MENA states. As the US-led west continue to amplify their gunboat diplomacy and militarism as the basics of their engagement with the region, the better for China whose balanced approach hinged on non-intervention, economic prosperity and societal development will keep yielding fruits. There is a limit to what the human brain can take. |

When empires are on the decline, they lash out. Seeing their fall as existential, they break norms because they view the norms as useless if abiding by them makes them lose their coveted power. -Lord Why should China act overtly when the US is already evicting itself from the region? Netanyahu knew he has the US and Trump on lock and key. So, he can afford to plunge the region into a full blown war. But when that happens, the US will come out the loser. Uncle Sam had already lost much of the respect he commands in that region. This attack by Israel, among many, exposes the impotency of the Trump administration and the lack of influence America now has over affairs in the region. The more this continue, the more angry nations across the world gets, the less influence the US commands, the more enemies Netanyahoo makes, and the better the chances that states would prefer to join the China-led BRICS and SCO blocs. I started reading attacks in Kwara, especially Baruten LGA, which is a major soybean producing area. This happened at the same time the US and China had their trade war. Right after China stopped buying US soybeans, there was a fair organised by the US embassy encouraging Nigerians to purchase soybeans from the US.
I still find it shocking that Kwara would be experiencing terrorist attacks, considering that more than ten years ago, it was always mentioned here on NL as one of the safest states. Also, why must it be Baruten LGA where soybeans are cultivated in large swathes of land? Now I know you're very enlightened and thinks logically.
