Hello House!

As we approach application duration or period, I commit our endeavours in God's hands. God that gave us the wisdom to locate Norway as a preferred destination for our postgraduate studies - will also level and make us overcome all challenges(financial and emotional) we may encounter IJN,Amen!!

The time is Now! Let's start preparing our docs. Let's keep the thread and vibe going. We shall get there!
Good talk Arinze. The time to start preparing is now. Work on your letter of Motivation, write your English test if you need to increase your chances of application. Lay hold on your student's copy Transcript to enable you fashion how best to work on your motivation letter. Just know that the time to start is actually now. Cheers.

Please go through the thread. I am pleading because I know it will be to your benefit. I work every day and hardly have time for personal use, yet I have read this thread more than 5 times from page 1 to End. It's this sacrifice that shows how eager and willing you are to get what you want. All the information i needed were right here on this thread. Some were hidden as far back as 2016. please read and read and read the thread all over. You will thank me later. Cheers

Impressive! Congrats on your admission and stepping to a new level!!

With the covid-19 pandemic all country experiences, what has your school put in place vis-a-vis to resumption of 2020 academic session for international students?

Also,I understand one have to show a sum of #5m during the application process, if my sponsor at the moment has in his account #3m,is it possible to still get the admission letter. I still know I have to transfer #5m but during the application process can I show #3m.

Hope u understand the question?

sorry for the late response. Please I would advise against that. Make sure the funds are complete and even in excess if possible. When it comes to finances, they can be very strict. My school is going to run a digital section for this semester. On campus classes are expected to resume by January 2021. Travelling to Norway or staying back in your home country for the digital semester is the student's choice. That's the current stance of USN.

You are really doing a great Job. Keep it up. I hope to be of help as much as possible when the need arises. Cheers bro. Please just to clarify, I am not in Norway just a prospective 2020/2021 Student.
Arinze01:
I have read this thread from the first page to the last page and also independently researched on most schools in Norway via websites, mails,Youtube videos and others. I can also offer my #1.
Majority of all schools requires Nigerians to send the under listed docs;
1) Transcript of records ( an original uploaded one and also the one send by your previous school to the intended school). Watermarked student copy won't be accepted,UiS told me that.

2)Diploma/Certificate ( all meaning the same)

3)CV

4)Waec/Neco Results. Or Waec scratch card(Nord Univ requested this) all as proof of English Proficiency and some need it to show as an evidence for o'levels

5) International Passport showing all ur details and photo.

6)An Enclosure form ( though its on their website, fill, sign, scan and upload it to them.

7)Documents of financing (2019/2020 session were asked to provided 121,220 Noks, though it might increase for 2021/2022(it basically covers ur wellbeing for a yr including accommodation but still hold more)

The aforementioned ones are the primary ones, the secondary ones demanded by some are;

coolGRe/GMAT ( NHH and Bi Norwegian demanded it)

9) motivational letter or statement of purpose ( some art courses requested for it.

10) ielts/TOEFL ( some private univ demanded it)

10) Online dance video( some dance programs asked for it).

That's all. The Herculean task is raising the 121,220 Noks . God will see us through, Amen!!

Applications are done online through soknadsweb. You will have to check the individual universities website to know the requirements. You will also have to send across your Transcript directly from your university here in Nigeria and for a school like USN, you will need ETS to send across your English language score as it's compulsory for all applicants from Nigeria. It's actually very straightforward. Hope this helps.

Honestly, I can't imagine this having any effect at all on the study permit. You have nothing to worry about from my understanding of the situation.

All the best,

I know Universities in Norway mostly Offer Free tuition Programs for International Students so I don't think the scholarship stuff is applicable for study here. Living Expenses though are catered for by the student through a blocked acct system. Check well online and you will get answers to the second question you asked.

My University(USN) and my Department(Process Tech) has decided that the fall semester will be online but still encourages international students to apply for their study permit quickly, I want to know if this will affect our chances of getting the permit. My reasons for asking is that they have sent us letters we should attach while applying for the permit, stating that the classes for fall will be done online but that students are expected to report to campus before January 15th or lose their admission offer completely. I just want to know the effect this will have on our applications for the study permit. Just your humble opinion. Thanks. And it's been quite a long time. Great having you back online.
StarFlux:
If you want to apply, then you should start very early. Deadline is December for the fall semester (starting august). You should start already now and get all the papers sorted for when the application portal opens. It's much easier this way and less stressful for you.

Norway is one of the safest places to be right now.

No you can't. Your best hope is a Bsc but most are not taught in English medium and the Norwegian Embassy does not grant visas to Nigerians coming for Bsc in Norway.

I have a 2.1 and can't really say but I know with a cgpa above 3.3/5.0 one should have a very good chance of getting admission.

Thank you for your timely response. May God's blessings abide with you. But please I need to ask again, without IELTS, they will treat my application if I forward my transcript to them. Or I apply now and later go for IELTS? Thanks again as I anticipate your response.
You don't need it bro. Just forward your application they will treat it and give you admission if you meet the academic requirements by the university. You do not need Any English language exam if you studied in Nigeria.

The group is good but then let's also keep this thread alive. This is just my humble opinion though. Any challenges with the application process? We can discuss it and get it solved. Thanks

Hello, has anyone been able to apply courses for summer yet? Uni assist says study phase hasn’t started
Good day bro, Just check well. Go through the uniassist site very well and check all the schools there. Some are actually open for application. I submitted for two schools and have received a response from uniassist as regards one of them. They have forwarded to the school for final decision for summer 2020. The second school is still under processing. Like I said do a detailed check and you did be surprised. The schools I applied to are South Westphalia university of applied sciences and Emden/Leer university. You can also submit your documents to TU Bergakademie freiberg as they are also collecting hard copies for summer. I hope this information is helpful to someone.

Chaii, another blow after the BA increment and removal of 2.2 from Category A. They are making things really tough now and the changes are coming too fast... Soon they might make AL a prerequisite for booking AD. God help us.
