halleluyahhhhhh....So happy for you maam.Been waiting for your testimony.May you excel and be highly favored in canada ijn

aworldcitizen:
Praise to the Lord the Almighty the king of creation!
Gather round people, it's PPR!

Below is my timeline
Decision to travel August 2017.
Family of 5
Visa office: initially London, moved to kyiv in August.
IELTS: September 2017.
My IELTS was written once and was perfect 9,8,8,8.
Spouse IELTS 7.5,7.5,7,7
ECA: Masters Nov 2017
Entered the pool Dec.
ITA January
AOR January 17th 2018
Medical Passed Feb 11th 2018
IP1 Feb 12th 2018
IP2 Feb 27th 2018
Then silence. Not even a single ADR.
Ordered 1st GCMS notes April 2018 everything looked perfect.
Then complete silence.
Ordered 2nd GCMS notes July 2018, this never arrived
Wrote Raplh who confirmed Eligibility and Security not yet started.
More silence, not even a ghost update
October 3rd 2018 ordered 3rd set of GCMS notes. Arrived Nov. 1st. Still same as April notes. My file had not been touched since March 2018. Eligibility and Security not yet started.
Wrote a 3rd mail to Ralph on Nov 4th who was gracious enough to respond (Ralph responds only once). He confirmed that my eligibility and security was not yet started and my application cannot be expedited.
Nov 8th, like a dream ! my PPR!

Checked email and profile this morning and saw nothing.

By 2pm during my lunch break, I saw a mail notification, I wanted to ignore but decided to check.

I saw a mail from donotreply@cic.gc.ca that I have an update on my profile. I was excited, that finally I am getting a ghost update / adr.

I logged into my cic acct and saw my profile was updated. I was so excited, thinking it was just a ghost update and that finally my file was receiving attention. I wanted to log out but I felt the nudge to proceed and click on view complete application which I did.

Nothing seemed to have changed, my background check was still in process, I was about to log out again, when I felt that urge to scroll further down to the mail section.

I saw I had a new mail, titled request letter. I already concluded that it was an ADR for fresh bank statement. Love and behold, it was the almighty PPR.

I wasn't expecting it to come without an ADR for updated POF since my application had been pending for almost 10months. I lost appetite immediately, and was was just screaming. I couldn't share the news with my colleagues, so I just lied to them that my husband got a new job!.

I am immensely grateful to God Almighty who did not put me to shame. Delay is not denial. Though it tarries, it must surely come.

Thank you all for all the love and support.

Off to take my pictures and submit tomorrow.

This year has been so challenging. hubby and I lost our jobs, all our money tied at POF, we were feeding from Hand to mouth and struggled to pay school fees. Infact this September, we had to change their schools to a very cheap school.

God bless you all.

Wowww...Congratulations and tanks for the information shared.

CanadianWasp:
Hi all,

Long post alert!

Wanted to post this for a long while but when Vfs/Accra say wait, you wait, lol.

So I got copr. My timeline:

ITA: March 26, 2018
AOR: April 8 ( dated April 9)
Med Passed: April 18
IP1: April 18
IP2: May 17
PPR: May 18 (dated May 17)
Passports submitted: May 22
Approved: June 12
PUM: June 20

I want to state details of my application process because I benefited a great deal from the details posted by others and I'm hoping someone may benefit from mine smiley

PRE- ITA

ECA: I stumbled on Iphy's posts for lawyers so I used IQAS for my llb. Paid in July 2017. Learnt from a friend afterwards that she and a couple of others used WES for only their llb and still claimed professional degree and got ppr. Painful especially as I had to wait until March 7, 2018 before I obtained my ECA. (Please I didn't say use WES o, please go with your guts smiley ).

IELTS: March 3. lsrw: 8.5,8,8.5,7. Cochtrane's tips was everything! Honestly when you use mini-ielts.com (found out it's the shorter version of ieltsonlinetests.com), the ielts proper doesn't appear so daunting. Also went through ieltsliz.com. I found her soothing and easiest to flow with and understand particularly for reading and listening. Barely practised writing (oversabi and see finish, lol) but I wish I did. I'd recommend practising, (especially writing) on the actual exam sheets and in actual exam conditions. My spouse did and got lsrw: 9,8,9,8 smiley.

Post ITA

PCC: No travel history and Inspector Moshood to the rescue! I live in PH so he scanned the form for spouse and I. Filled and affixed thumbprints and couriered to him. Paid 10k for both and PCC was ready in less than 3 hours. Had it delivered to us.

POF: Used a gift deed for 75% of the funds. Deed wasn't notarised or stamped (trust me, in Nigeria, you do not need to notarize or have a Commissioner for Oaths stamp an original deed...any deed. Stamping/ notarization doesn't make it any more or less valid smiley. Except the deed isn't actually a deed but a letter or an affidavit). I provided 6 months statement for the account that the funds was paid into even though the account was pretty much dormant. For the balance 25%, I got a letter in the format Yimiton shared for money market fund. First bank sha decided to add their own jara by including my statement of unit holding. Didn't want that because a chunk of the funds was invested a day after ITA. I guess that didn't matter for me, lol. So I uploaded the deed of gift, teller showing transfer, 6 months bank statement (dated April 4) and letter from fbn quest attaching my investment statement. Preceding these was a simple table of content showing those documents as well as a screenshot of exchange rate on xe.com on the day of submission. Infact, I had a table of content for documents exceeding 3 in a placeholder.

Reference Letter: Yep, NOC mama delivered! Obtained from 2 employers. Didn't even have to change Newmum's format. Used it exactly as she provided. Also helped that my noc was pretty straightforward. I also used only "To whom it may concern", no ircc address, no time, lol.

Change of Name: Submitted affidavit and newspaper publication. Marriage certificate was already in the marriage certificate place holder so I didn't think it was necessary to include it in the change of name placeholder.

LOE: I honestly didn't want to explain anything. But out of curiosity, I clicked on the loe placeholder to see what would pop up (yeah I know, I'm a dumbass, lol) and for some reason, the payment page refused to come up despite having uploaded all the required documents. I kept logging out and logging back in but whossai. I just jejely wrote a short letter "to whom it may concern" and explained why I didn't get bank letter in the required format (maybe this helped, I dunno ). Payment page came up after uploading in that placeholder.

Post PPR

VFS: Spouse and I debated over sending or not sending with the family forms. I was for the former and he, the latter. Even though we filled it eventually, we ended up not submitting our passports with the forms because really, our family composition didn't change. We also didn't include any note in our application to state this.

I guess that's about it. Special thanks to this amazing forum. I read some of part 1, read part 2 1 and half times, followed part three to the end and been following part 4 from the beginning. The wealth of information *sigh* . Sad to see how many people don't realise page 0 is the actual goldmine. Do you know what it means to sift through seas of information looking for something peculiar to your situation? Meanwhile this has been made sooooooo easy to find on page 0? Yes, I have to add, Glitteringstar and Choctrane, you're amazing! Thank you! And really thank you to everyone mentioned in my post and other active contributors on this invaluable thread.

I want to also add though, while getting info from here, please don't forget the CIC website. That's the immigration bible smiley.

May our desires on this journey, come to pass smiley.

Goodevening fam, trust our day went well.I have a question:
I have not taken any trips in the last ten years outside Nigeria, but my husband have taken trips out of Nigeria; now given the wording from travel history page:

Has MRS. ABC, and if applicable, MRS. ABC's family members taken any trips outside their country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since their 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc.

Do I need to Answer YES or NO to this question in my part of the form since the same question is also been asked in my husbands form.

I am a bit confused
Thanks.

ITA CAME HOME TO DWELL TODAY!!!

PART 1- IELTS (BC)- LRSW- 7.5, 8, 7.5, 7 (Sept. 30, 2017)- It ended in praise!

PART 2- WES ECA- Evaluated as overall Canadian equivalency of Masters degree (Nov 2017)- It ended in praise!

PART 3- IELTS (BC)- LRSW- 8, 8.5, 7, 7 (May 4, 2018)- It ended in praise!

PART 4- IELTS (IDP)- LRSW- ?, ?, ?, ? (May 25, 2018)- It know it will end in praise! (Though not needed any longer grin grin)

PART 5- ITA (FSW)- CRS 441 (May 23, 2018)- It ended in praise!

I thank God first of all for this journey thus far, it all started late 2016 during my annual leave. The leave afforded me the time to think deeply about my life and future and that of my young family in this country and I concluded I have to move if for nothing but for the sake of my kids.

I started out with the Canadian Study route (all the while thinking that the Express entry route was a long thing and difficult to achieve) God bless friends that I spoke with who encouraged me to give FSW a try. (To know that the 3 schools that I applied to rejected my applications...Don't let us even talk about what I have spent hustling that route....God would have been looking at me and be like "yinmu" grin grin)

I and wifey wrote our first IELTS with almost similar scores...but the accuser struck again (he can only delay the glory, he cant kill the shine grin)- I got bad advice that I shouldn't waste money re-writing IELTS, that I should just pack into a PNP and coast to nomination for an eventual sure ITA- I did (Dont let me even talk of how much I have spent [and obviously wasted] on this PNP hustle too grin) Oct 2017, I submitted an application to SINP. No nomination, little did I know that I was setting myself up for frustration and delay...unendinig test of patience for months...(You guys here on FSW can never understand what folks on the PNP go through just to get the same ITA that we celebrate here on a regular) grin...Here, many are even yet to understand the acronym- MEP- and before you say Jack Robi...., its PPR for them! grin
Frustration and lack of movement on the PNP application made me resit the IELTS and here we are!!

My first EE profile of October 20th, 2017 became ineligible on the April 30, 2018 grin, I missed ITA of May 9, 2018 by the tie breaking rule(because my mint profile of May 1, 2018 didn't qualify- painful)

But all that end well is that that end in praise! grin grin

NB: Too many friends to start mentioning you one by one...I thank you all for your encouragement, support and faith keeping..we all came through on this! grin.

** My heart goes out to those who are yet to clinch the ITA especially those on the border line of 435-439- you know how we do na- keep the faith up because one thing is certain, iyanu ma sele and it will definitely end in praise IJN!

It is the normal procedure. All you have to do is wait for your school to verify. After verification from school the document status will change.

Magicbird:
Good morning sirs and ma's,
WES is awaiting verification from my school to conclude my ECA report.
The issue I have is the verification of certificate as shown in the pics. I have sent WES my certificate through Hellofax.
Is this the normal procedure or am I doing something wrong here.
Thanks for your kind response.

Tanks a lot.I think I would just go with Option 2 and congrats again.quote author=GlitteringStar post=66104031]

Option1: Send a mail/fax to WES to include your married name on your ECA report. Attach your marriage certificate, newspaper publication and affidavit for change of name if you have one.

Option 2: You can make use of your LOE to explain the name change/discrepancy to the Visa Officer (post-ITA). [/quote]

I need some clarifications please and I hope I haven't goofed.I applied for my Wes evaluation using my maiden name(that's the name on my certificates).Hope this wouldn't pose any problem cos the name on my passport is my updated married name.
Ie: hope the Eca report being in my Maiden name would not affect my EE profile

NB:My Eca report should be ready in 2 weeks according to Wes.
So my question is should I leave it that way or can I still do something about it. (I read something contrary this evening and av been a bit worried)Please kindly weigh in@Glitteringstar @Newmum...

Wowww...congrats
Ambidextrause:
Hello Good People,

I got PUM today!!! And I wish to share my story as a testimony to God's glory and in the hopes that someone might be encouraged, inspired, and motivated. (This post may be a bit long. Sorry)

AOR was July 25, 2017

At first, my application was refused. And as I read the refusal letter with shivers down my spine, I figured the VO based his/her decision singularly on insufficient funds. I was beyond crestfallen. I could not even wish that on my enemy. It came on an afternoon and I thanked God I did not drive to work that day cos I would't know how I would have fared behind the wheels. More painful was the fact that the rejection/refusal came after 134 days of agonizing wait! I had been so expectant since I felt I had satisfied every requirement. Meanwhile, a spike in FOREX rates around early August 2017 had relegated my POF below the LICO by 330CAD. Can you imagine that?! undecided undecided

I bottled it up. Never opened my mouth to tell a soul. I did not want to share the heartbreak with my family and close friends who knew I was on this train. So I reached out to my e-friends on this platform, chief of whom are Blackbuddy, 40manlappy, and GlitteringStar for solace and advice. I felt the reason for refusal was flimsy -- they thought so too. I was going to appeal!

Now, up until then, it's not been a common thing to see a refusal decision reversed. But my case was going to be different as I went to God in my unspeakable pain and disappointment. I cast all the burden on him with hope and faith. As advised, I sent the first email and raised a CSE showing that I indeed satisfied the POF requirement, with updated POF attached. After 3 days, my appeal was rejected. It was so devastating but I kept my cool. While me e-friends were following-up and asking for updates, I only told them IRCC were yet to respond. I kept praying. One week passed. Two weeks. Nothing. So, I sent another email, trying to make them see my point. I was begging for mercy, as advised. Failed again.

I had given up, turning my sights on PNP as my CRS had dropped to 427 and no chance of having the draws smile on me. This was January this year. Then on one Sunday evening, Tosin, who also experienced same, reached out to me again, saying I couldn't just be quiet and be waiting or just give up. Then I heard a little voice saying I should try again. I sent another email on Monday but instead got a refund of my RPRF. Damn! I caught a cold that night. Managed to get home. Struggled through the week. Then God provoked me himself - a colleague of mine, who applied after me, got PPR. We congratulated him but I was very sad deep inside. Mine was coming, I shrugged. That night, I drafted another email - this time stating my utter displeasure and showing the unfairness in the refusal decision - and I sent it directly to the minister! I remember I said a silent prayer before clicking the send button: Lord, don't let this one return the way others did.

The next day, I saw a notification, my application had been reopened. I was asked to pay the 490CAD RPRF. I returned the money they had earlier rejected back to them. 3 days later, I got PPR! Now happening so fast I could barely remember the pains I had felt a month ago. I was overjoyed and broke the news to my family and friends - they did not know the underlying story, did not need to. The devil is a liar!!! grin grin grin

AOR to PPR = 184 days

I want to appreciate the selfless efforts of everyone on this platform. And to those of us expecting one thing or the other on this Canadian journey, God will make it all end in praise. Thank you all! God bless!!!

And Wura27 should be ready to add me to that WhatsApp group. grin grin grin grin

Hi guys,

I'm very thankful to God because I've received the golden mail and I don't know how to celebrate!

My Timeline:
CRS 454
ITA Dec 6th 2017
AOR Jan 12th 2018
MEP Jan 26th
IP1 Jan 26th
NA2 Feb 1st
IP2 Feb 20th
PPR Feb 21st
Family of 3
No ADR
Visa Office: Ottawa

Some highlights of my application includes;
1. My POF = T-Bills(3months) + Generic Bank Ref Letter + 6months SOA + Gift of deed (100% amount from direct family). My total POF is in the T-Bills, explained this in my LOE.
2. Proof of employment = Reference letter (included NYSC experience) + Pay stubs.
3. There was a mistake in my spouse's name on our daughter's birthday cerficate, so I attached an affidavit (confirmation of name) together with the document to clarify this. Also explained this in my LOE.
4. Educational documents= Degree certificates + WES. I didn't include IELTS certificate although I registered the certificate number somewhere else in my application.
5. My spouse hasn't officially changed her name so I submitted our application with her maiden name. Our marriage certificate was enough proof I guess.
6. Passport photos = We took our final printed photos (50x70mm) from "Study 24" ahead of time. I scanned and resized it to the required specification (35x45mm) (using MS software) and used it for Post ITA submission.
That's all I can remember off the top of my head and I hope it helps.
Thanks to everyone that has ever communicated on this thread (names too numerous to list), it was very helpful!
For those still hoping for better IELTS scores, please try again and give it all you have this time.
For those still expecting the silver mail, please be very hopeful. Try to improve your CRS, while in the pool if you need to.
For those still anticipating towards receiving the golden mail, it will certainly come!
I'm wishing everyone here the very best and remember it will end in praise!

I want to give God the praise because myself and spouse wrote IELTS in August 2017 once using only ieltsbuddy.com and the road to IELTS from BC. Then ASUU or was it NASU strike held back our WES until Nov/Dec 2017. Family size of 5.

We started this process using the CIC website only until I stumbled on this thread (part 2) through Google.
I will encourage newbies to read the CIC website and thoroughly because every needed info is there and seek further guidance or Naija experience from this thread and parts 1 and 2.

Guys, this London Visa Office has a purpose, in that I've learnt so many practical life lessons. All adoration belongs to our Saviour- Jesus Christ, who KEPT ME by his mercy,GAVE ME enough reasons to continue to appreciate His goodness towards me and my family. I thank God that I was still able to maintain my sanity, and also thank HIM for giving me more reasons to continue to absolutely depend on Him,no matter the situation.
Thank you all for your encouragement and the togetherness on this platform.
I know that greater challenges lie ahead in Canada and elsewhere. Surely, surely, I KNOW that He will see all of us through to that glorious desired end.
I want to specially thank you wonderful guys on the London Visa Office WhatsApp groups (general and July groups). You're all so lovely!
For those still waiting, don't worry, just hang in there and try as much as possible to make the waiting period count. You can enrol in the pre- arrival services by IOM or engage in some of the free and very useful certification courses.
Just make the time count!

Hi,i sent you a request/mail.Please i would need some few clarifications from you.
Thanks

Hello all, I'm sharing this to encourage others.

I started my journey by considering both Canadian and Australian Immigration but made up my mind to drop Australia movement for that of Canada due to the cost involved, also Canada PR process looked more straight forward to me.

ECA
I decided to use WES for my assessment because I'm an Engineering professional and WES is needed in processing future professional engineering qualifications in Canada, as well as sending transcripts to Canadian Universities in the future. Also, I took the pain to assess both my BEng and MSc degrees (both from Nigerian schools) because of the above reasons.
I started processing my WES application in August 15, 2017 and my WES E-copy report got ready in Nov 30, 2017 (timeline 2.5 months). My WES hardcopy report got to my apartment- delivered by NIPOST on January 4, 2018 (used standard delivery, $7). Although, I have never used the hardcopy.

IELTS
Took my exam on October 14, 2017 and passed on first attempt LRWS 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7.5 (Max point for Express Entry)
-My study tips
I studied for two months (1 month intensive).
I printed the test answer booklets for reading, listening and writing test (got them free online). Reason is because I wanted to simulate typical exam conditions and I also practiced using a stopwatch.
-Listening
I practiced using the Cambridge material from 2016 to the end. A week to my exam, I did two listening test everyday in order to stay sharp. To be honest, I hardly scored 8 during practice and multi choice questions were my weakness so I spent more time at these. During my exam, I followed the audio recording by moving my pencil beneath the sentences on my question sheet in order to constantly stay focused. I ensured I read all instructions carefully.

-Reading
I practiced using all the past questions on General training reading that I could lay my hands on. I ensured I timed myself to finish in 45mins and checked my work with 15mins. I rarely scored 8 during practice. During my exam, I finished under 50mins, checked my work with 10mins(very helpful because I discovered some mistakes, which I corrected).

-Writing
www.ieltsliz.com was a great companion. I adopted all her different essay and letter formats(very helpful). I wrote at least 1 essay per day (most times). I read using a digital dictionary (for looking up words). I practiced with a stopwatch and tried to finished both parts under 50mins so that I could use the 10mins left for checks. During my practice, I knew how many lines I needed to write, to achieve the required minimum number of words (since I used the IELTS answer sheet). During my test, I finished under 45mins and used 15mins for checks.
-Speaking
I practiced using a voice recorder, which made it possible for me to assess myself. Sometimes I practiced in front of my wife (she acted as the examiner). During my test, I had a relaxed conversation with the test official. I tried to expand my speech, such that the examiner always had to stop me.

I noticed that I was more interested in learning/improving my English language skills than just passing the IELTS test. So it turned into a stronger desire for me. I also realised that passing IELTS can only be done by understanding the test (tricks, structure and rules). To understand IELTS one has to learn from tutors such as Liz and then practice what they have learnt.

I spent more time and resources practicing for IELTS because I needed to overcome my weakness. I gave it my time (despite my 9-5 job) and studied as if my life depended on it. I prepared and wrote my test such that my wife (a nursing mother) won't have to write and also save the money.

My CRS is 454 (lost 27 points since I'm married and my spouse didn't write IELTS or did ECA, but it didn't matter)
Created my profile Dec 5, 2017 got ITA Dec 6, 2017.

I'm presently on AOR stage- Jan 12, 2018.
I'll give detailed update on how I packaged my application for submission on a different post.

Special thanks to God for His grace, and everyone who took out time to contribute on this platform.

Godspeed also to all those preparing for IELTS, waiting for ITA or expecting PPR.

It will end in praise!

Hi all,I must say this thread has been quite insightful and i have been a silent reader for a while. Thanks to all those who have been taking their precious time to answer and explain questions.God bless you all.
Here is my question;1) As the principal applicant if i do not have up to the required amount of funds for my family in my own account, can I combine the funds in my husband's account with mine thereby making it a cummulative of what is requested?
2)Must we open a joint account to that effect
3)Or can we just combine both funds and attach a letter of explanation and also an affidavit stating that i can access the funds in his account.

Thanks
