You mean PayPal even stopped bank withdrawal at a time? I thought all foreign (US) PayPal accounts can withdraw to US bank account as they usually do. It seems the CBN restriction on foreign currencies is yet to be over going by this email below I received yesterday from First Bank.

You can transfer to other user's account. Though not a bank but I had over $8,000 there before I reduced it to over $7,000 currently. In the past, you could initially fund it from your Naira MasterCard once but later from other sources.

Simply visit paypal.com to sign up freely for an account. Then link your Naira Visa or MasterCard to the PayPal account. Anything outside that means you are either paying for ignorance or foolishness. Beware!

I confirmed from Union Bank too that foreign check clearing is also not allowed any longer. So, your PayPal cheque may not sail through if that statement is true. I would rather suggest you try multinational banks like Standard Chartered and Stanbic to see if they can still handle it for now but I doubt it anyway. Otherwise, you may send it to your US bank for crediting or sell to me as I can deposit cheque into my US bank account by mere snapping the check (cheque) online with my smartphone. But the only limitation would be that PayPal has drawn the check (cheque) in your name already.

The dollar/pounds/euro restriction in Nigeria seems to be getting worse or rather more serious with this email attached below that I received lately, which shows $300 limit to online and POS spending. Someone was suggesting/thinking the GTBank dollar card may have no such limit but the restriction remains how to get cashless dollar in funding such dollar card.

I do not think this policy should affect cheque clearing since such instrument is not cash and it's track-able/controllable by the bank(s).

Pls note, I doubt its all banks that are allowed to do Western Union transfer (outwards , sending). I was at Diamond the other day, they couldn't, said there was embargo, but Zenith bank and first bank did do the transfer, and the rate was good.

I was at another bank too to send last week and they told me that they have issue for now and have stopped sending. I didn't ask them what problem they have as I already assumed any stoppage must have to do with the current CBN clampdown on foreign currencies.

Online sending seems to be only for US user but you can try it on their website if your card would be accepted to send out. The currency to be sent out does not matter but it would be remitted to the beneficiary in the currency of the destination country. Also, if you are sending from Nigerian banks, obviously only Naira would be accepted from you.

PayPal on Alibaba? I doubt if there is any seller/manufacturer that accepts that there. They usually ask for payment outside the Alibaba's escrow and do ask of Western Union, MoneyGram or Bank's Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) options.

For those estimating the value of N60 in 1975 to be N6,000 now, I do not think that will be correct. If brand new Peugeot 504 SR was sold N15,000 in 1987 and my University school fees was N60 (N50 tuition fee + N10 sport fee) in the 90s, then N60 of 1975 cannot be compared to N6,000 of today. At least I remember that I never got any paper note (but coins) as feeding money when 50 kobo was the least Nigerian paper note in my secondary school days in the 80s. Go back to that evaluation website with your Naira MasterCard or Visa card you got from your bank here and make the payment with your Naira.

I think I better explain it here in details once and for all..
we had an agreement to do the all the name search and filling up north here and he will do the stamp duty he will pick the Certificate up himself in CAC yaba office in Lagos.. I advised him then that the whole process is easier done here but he insisted and said he will do the stamp duty himself and pick it up himself... He the sent 35k initially to me for name search and Filling process which I did and completed the job and sent all the receipts of payments and all filling documents to him.. Note.. I didn't run away with his 35k.. I did the job with the money and sent to him accordingly.. He appreciated my effort then... After like a week of sending him his job.. He went and tried to do the stamp duty and tried to pick it up himself, he was faced with CAC Lagos office stress.. He later called me I shd please help him to finish the job here up north.. I replied him and told him I Av already choosen CAC Lagos office as his collection when doing the filling process as he instructed.... That is the beginning of our problemm.. I tried all I could to convince him it isn't possible to pick it up here north again but he insisted...

At this point.. I explained to him the only way I could help him is when I come down south and try and do the running around for him in Lagos at a cost of 10k.. But I will only do it when I Av sometin to do in Lagos.. Cos my family house is in Ketu Lagos which I gave him the address.. I brought my wife and kid to Lagos before the election because of the unforseen election wahala in march.. I was on my way back to working place up north when He sent me the additional 10k.. A refund is different. If he makes a payment for instance and then the seller did not deliver, he can file a dispute with PayPal and PayPal would return funds to his card(This would take a long time for the bank to credit).

But, if the seller does not deliver and then he tells his bank(Not PayPal) about this and his bank performs a chargeback against paypal on his behalf, they would charge $25. Or its equivalent so in nigeria, i'd say they charge N5000 or less. Last time, Zenith charge me N3800 for chargeback against Amazon.

Okay, I was referring to the charge back or refund that he initiates with PayPal by virtue of PayPal resolution center. Not the one to his bank.
