That was exactly why they tampered with the VIN. and i was thinking it was damaged from my simple search. But something is not right. The car is in naija already and the report shows the car was stolen yesterday ![]() Did i miss something? edit... Okay.. i have done my own search and it shows the date of the search not the date of theft. So yes. OP, that vehicle was stolen. I remember in 2009 in Abuja there was a special stolen vehicles squad on the road. they ran all VIN numbers on interpol and international database. once it showed stolen, the vehicle was impounded.. They may tamper with it but the bar code doesn't lie.. They removed the dashboard to change the VIN plate on the windshield. and then manually etched the sticker on the door. Hence the confusion you have been having. Again, if you are buying, just run. if you are selling, Hmmmmm ![]() |
wow. looks like they fixed it well. it was showing up on a simple search as a salvaged car. if you wana buy the car, then better get a VIN report and use that to negotiate better price. If you wana sell it, then ...................... up to you at the end of the day. But if you ask me, i'll say be open about it and reinforce that it has been fixed to a reasonable standard. Have a lovely day! |
Vega100:for thieves too |
Tampered for sure. See the correct VIN below. 5TDJZRFH5JS530054 Just use a barcode reader and read the code and you will get the correct value. Clearly the characters have been modified it is a badly damaged Toyota highlander 2018 |
lol.. see response. So much venom in that response. O boy.. there is nothing like you dumping her, she has already done that by that sms. She has no single regard for you. just move on. |
On this, I agree with Reno. In the fight to get what we believe is right, we must always remain factual and present complete truths in everything. Even to this day, many in the north cannot even speak pidgin English let alone read English. I can understand the need to change it, but i dont see the advantage. This is the least of our problems now. i bet it will cost a lot of money to change our bills at this point. My people say, leave wettin dem write for moto enter moto (not today sha.. dem go kidnap you o) . The priority should be how this money can get to everyone and not what is written on the money. |

na to do proper research and sign a comprehensive tenancy agreement to avoid long delays in court. For this case, you go need finish the court oh, and start with the other person .Lawyers, abeg help me, but there must be a way to sue for lost earnings? |
nonhuman:okay. understood. However, a bad mass air flow (MAF) sensor should throw out an error code. Check engine light dey on? if yes, have the vehicle scanned and you may find the real culprit. Depending on the car make and year, a dead MAF sensor does not necessarily translate to dead engine. sometimes it may still run but run poorly and accelerate poorly too. what year and make is this car? when the MAF sensor is disconnected, can you confirm it makes absolutely no difference to the engine idle speed? the poor acceleration you mentioned, is this when the MAF sensor is disconnected or just every other day? |
nonhuman:not an answer bro but just curious how you reached your question?. It seems very direct, like you have eliminated all other causes of increased consumption. Even bad tires dey increase consumption. |
if you can drive manual, corolla then. but who put you inside this kind choice? why cant your options be expanded? |
nlPoster:LOL.. wickedness no good oh Oga poster, add information why these are your picks here. No body dey click anything. Internet these days dey like naija highway. e no safe again. as i no see prado for that list, i dun dey fear you. |
you will state the reasonable value of the car. Sometimes the insurers ask for a receipt, other times not. I have had to undervalue my car for a comprehensive insurance. A risky move, yes. but sometimes it pays off with lower insurance premium. Drove that car for 2 years with only a minor scratch at the back caused by one old man (my other car, not so lucky ). You can also argue that the insurance company took my money for nothing, but i guess that is the cost for peace of mind.On your main question. Damage to car is fixed at cost by the insurers. if a bumper is damaged, the insurance company will evaluate and fix it or have you fix it and send the invoice. This is usually not linked to insured value of the car. HOWEVER. and this is a big however. I've never tried this, but i don't think you can undervalue the car by much. between 10 - 20% of the actual market value should be ok. Imagine you insure a 2009 GL450 for 2 million naira while market value is 6 - 8m, then you get a damaged door that would require complete door change, what do you think the insurers will do? . Oga take 2million (less deductibles of course) and we write-off the vehicle. ![]() In your insurance contract, usually the vehicle is declared a complete loss when the cost to fix it exceeds 50% of the stated value of the car. So play with the numbers and see what best suits you or what you are most comfortable with. |
i'm sick and tired of this guy ![]() |
it's even worse when you realise that the majority of drivers in Nigeria have no clue about driving rules. Not to talk of etiquette. Careless, impatient and downright arrogant. Just do what you can and don't let the actions of others change you. ![]() |
Expand before using abbreviations (EBUA) Think EBUA every time you write and need to abbreviate so as not to leave your readers frustrated. (see what i did there? )I had to stop. scroll down and found the meaning of MIL and DIL before coming back to your story. |
Erediauwa:are you not just confused in life? ![]() |
Nukilia:LoL.. my brother. I give up. I'm ashamed sometimes |
Simplyleo:Well, not really.. The Americans and Canadians spell it tire. Just like they spell color instead of colour.. Is it wrong? Not really. Just spelling evolving in different regions.. |
