Vwne: I have been following the thread for a while now and I wrote IELTS GT (MOD IDP) for the first time on July 6, 2019. Thankfully, the result came out as LRWS 9, 9, 7.5, 8.5
I would like to share some tips on the listening part. I understand it may not work for some but I think it helped me.
I used Cambridge books to prepare and increased the speed of audio playback (on exam day, the audio felt slower and I had more time to focus). It was difficult initially but I soon got used to listening to the audio, following the questions, and taking notes at the same time.
Before the narrator starts, I skim through the questions, underline key words and think of synonyms while predicting possible answers (or the format the answers could take). Sometimes, there are 'false start' answers; where the narrator corrects the answer while narrating (kindly pay attention).
https://ieltsonlinetests.com/ielts-exam-library#general-training is good for practice. Their listening test audio is faster than the usual Cambridge audio.
IELTS Liz, English Emma and E2 Language channels on YouTube are fantastic resources as well.
I can share the materials I used if you request. Sir, pls help your brother too I need the materials arem.sam@gmail.com |

needful: Oga. 1m unit of zenith bank stock will be close to N19m, assuming u receive a dividend of 2..250m for 17yrs. U will be making close to 35m. Now, what is the assurance that ur zenith bank stock wont fall to 5naira in 17yrs time with the way they manipulate stock market. What is ur assurance that zenith bank wont be bought over by another bank in the next 17yrs to come, what is ur assurance that zenith bank stock will increase in order to give u capital appreciation. As far as am concerned, stock is never a good way of capital appreciation. Remember u will pay tax on ur dividend, pay brokers fees every yr also. Etc If zenith gets to #5 then there is a major ressesion, the 2.250m is net of tax. Stock investment is not faint hearted investors and not for risk haters. Mind you I can invest in any stock then go and sleep once I qualified for dividend payments I pulled out to TB eg I bought zenith for 20+ around January this year, sold for 22.7 and put the money in tb. This is after dividend qualification. Stock investment is not for everyone but that is the sure way for me to increase my net worth. If am still in the stock I would have loose about 1m so I know the time to enter and when to exist so by God grace the issue of another bank taking over will not meet me there. |

HeliosHay: One man's food is another man's poison.
As I said before, my objective with large investments is capital preservation with a steady 0% tax income.
TB and especially bonds are suitable investment vehicles that can help me to achieve this objective.
Shares are not....it doesn't mean they're bad Finito Sir! |

HeliosHay: He can lose a significant portion of his capital investing in shares.
The year to date return on Zenith Bank Stocks is -9.41%. Granted dividend yield is 15.14% it makes no sense losing 9% of my principle just to get 15% dividend when i can keep my entire principle safe and still make 12.4% with Bonds
The entire Nigerian stock market has been down so far this year..for people who are after steady earnings with capital preservation it's not a great move.
My opinion sha Lol for those that hates to take risk. Am currently sourcing for fund to buy 1m units of zenith I will get net dividend of 2.250m *17ys that is about 38m no capital appreciation is inclusive, no reinvesting inclusive. Just know the right time to enter and exit |

DaBogu: 17yrs*495,893 = 8,430,181 Still low sir 4m for zenith stocks @ 18.4 gives 217,391 they give dividend of #2.8 *217,391*17yrs is about 10m no reinvesting involved. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by aremso(m): 1:39pm On Jul 24, 2019 |
shogbenga: This is from stanbic Oga sir, you get mind ooo for 17yrs? If I invest 4m in zenith bank share @ 18.4 the dividend alone for 17yrs will be around 8m + without reinvesting the dividend to compound it if I reivest for more dividend the it will be about 13m. I choose zenith cos that is the life of JO where he gets close to 10billn as dividend every yr so we must chop it together. |

Thanks. There many good dividend stocks aside zenith, uba gtb CAP, etc. When you register with Morgan, there is a manual like write up that will guide u on what to do. Go to the registrar of the stocks u intends to buy, they tell you how to go about it |

Agbalowomeri: Since you are new, go register with either meristem, united securities or morgan or any other one Use half of your money to buy zenith bank Wait till Sept or November end or anytime you see it at 15, use the other half to buy the same zenith bank Process your e-dividend mandate and be collecting what we call dividend (the one you are calling interest) Continue to follow this thread After 2 years, you can try some other things Finito no stories again |

Ladywinterfell: Only the PA should write CIMA (or any additional degree he/she choose)
This will give extra 33 points (to the PA)
If the husband is the PA (for example) and both of them get an additional degree (be it CIMA or BcS), they are only getting extra 1 point to the 33 points because additional certificate from a spouse only give 1 point on CRS calculate
So the question is: is 1 point really worth the stress, time and money?
Only the PA should sit for the exam
I would suggest the PA go for CIMA, it's easier if you can read. I'm writing one very soon and I have no prior knowledge in accounting
In addition, you can write the CIMA first, the certificate takes about 6-8 weeks to come out, use that period to prepare for IELTS
CC: aremso Pls when can I register for the CIMA? |

pyruvateluv: Simulate your score with the crs calculator. What is your field? You could consider taking CIMA, BCS(registration ends this month) Pgd at NOUN(not too advisable personally) or Unilag HRDC. However, you and your wife must take IELTS to boost your score
Cheers Pls how many months does it take to write BCS? We both have Bsc in economics. Can I do IELTS before the BCS?. Thanks |
