They released it since. Tuesday April 2nd is the qualification date, meaning anyone interested in their dividend (65k) must buy tomoro unfailingly.
I get am plenty to sell oo me I don't need dividend oo wants to collect my dividend upfront. So make them come buy am from me.

Good you have a strategy and are sticking to it. Do you really think this is the right time to leave the market??
Pls note this is just my strategy! Stocks in most cases are not usually upwards sustained on NSE after the stocks are marked down for dividend this I hàve witnessed severally and with the current happenings in on politically I don't really see much upwards. In 2018 after marking down of some stocks like zenith, ucap, gtb and dang flour those stocks never went back to the price I sold them I sold zenith at 27.3 after marking down then and I bought @ 20.8 later. NSE is a cycle. What sustains our MKT is FPI and earnings and for now those guys are not interested in our mtk. The market will be galloping till yr end in my own opinion I may be wrong though. Am coming back by Oct/Nov at least from now till that time tb will give me more monies to buy more of zenith. Follow your investment patterns

coolthanks so much. Will do exactly as you have said
Good dont sell at all just leave it since you don need the money in a hurry. Please find an investment strategy and stick with that and am sure if you do, your losses will always be minimal. Just leave those stocks there till when the market favors them. To me nothing fantastic will happen again in the mkt this year and as such, am bailing out gradually with last stock UBA to bail out on Monday after which i go to Tbill to make some money then come back to the market later in the yr and buy just 3 stocks maximum with zenith making 85% of my portfolio. Please dont buy stock cos others are buying it stick to your own strategy and you will at least 90% be a successful investors. I was formerly a long timer but now i have changed my strategy to enter at the best price, qualify for dividend or may not wait for the dividend depending on the price and exit then re-enter at a good price again, this i started in 2017 and has really worked much for me cos i ended up buying more of those stocks anytime i want to come back for them.

First timer in here. I know how annoying it feels dragging a pro back to the basis, but I still have to ask, what are the best stocks out there a rookie like me should try to acquire?
It is not in my practice to tell people the kind of stocks to buy except my household who understand how i have been taking risk all these while and they can take it along with me. For me, i cant buy UBA now cos the party is almost over if would have been better you u had bought when party started or mid of the party like i bought @ 7.15, 7.25,7.35 and the last i bought was 7.60 so average price was 7.33. But if you are a long timer you can still give it a trial. As for buying for dividend and not selling immediately after marking down, hmmmmm is a 50/50 stuff i bailed out of zenith after making down at @ 22.70 and since then the stock has not gone back to that price again, it was the proceeds i used to buy uba @ 7.6 just imagine if i had thought it will go up as quick as possible and left it so also is the case of uba in my own opinion. Unless you want to buy and just go and sleep but for me UBA party is almost over

My brother I understand your point because the stock market is very volatile and capital preservation is key but know of people who sold at a loss due to fear of the unknown and I think that it is good to learn from ones experience sometimes. The stock market will definitely reverse at some point in time. I have leant that sometimes, it is more beneficial to stay longer in the market unless here is a genuine reason to sell.

I don't think we can compare the 2007/2008 era of manual trade through stockbrokers and now, the new technology built era in stock trading where you can trade yourself without any stock broker delaying you unnecessarily when you want to sell.

I still have the transcorp shares I bought in 2007@#7.5 and first bank@#33 due to unnecessary delays from them to sell when I mandated them to and that cannot happen now because I can sell myself but I still think that one should apply caution before selling even to d extent of doing so at a loss just because everybody is running.
Yours is well understood.

The way investors in the NSE fearfully run to sell their holdings just because others are selling out of panic reminds me of a funny real life experience in the year 2001 during my university days in d university of PH.

UNIPORT has an 8-storey building called Ofrima hall. There was suddenly panic and confusion which injured lot of students, with some breaking their legs after jumping from the 5th floor without really enquiring why they were running around 2:00am when we went to read TDB.

It was later realized that the cause of the tragic situation was a student who while sleeping in a class on the 3rd floor woke up suddenly and started running thinking it was a gunshot when his own rechargeable lantern fell.

This funny event thought me a big lesson in life. Just as how this above story had casualties, thank God nobody died, that is how there are many casualties in the NSE who run to sell just because others are selling. It just shows that we are all humans, but it's good to know why others are running before you run.
if u have experienced what happened in 2007/2008 u will eve run along with them. I know people who lost their lives cos of the crash i can count numbers of people who where retired from Mobil Oil and put their gratuity in stocks at that time 40m to day is 1.5m and some have died. since then i have told myself is better for me not to gain than to loose my hard earned monies and i thank God i have all my investment have all paid in the long run. It is better to live to fight another battle than to say you are brave and perish with the war
