eagleeye2: Access 8.5 _44days 9.85_163days 12%_ 240days I thought things will look brighter after election, but men these rates are demoralizing. Expect worst rate cos if the price of crude soars it means government would have more revenue from crude sales and translate to less borrowing. Also, if DR- dangote refinery comes on board as planned by the man himself, there would be stability in naira which would further make the rate come down. We should brace up! |

Deadlytruth: By the bolded, you remind me of the days when people defended Ribadu's/OBJ's selective anti-corruption war with the argument that those who were being hounded weren't really innocent, hence the selective war should be allowed to continue in the hope that one day a government headed by OBJ's enemy would come and hound those equally corruption ridden OBJ friends deliberately ignored by Ribadu. Has that enemy government to OBJ come now and will it really ever come going by the political realignments that characterize election seasons and the complicity of the electorate themselves? If you happen to have owned one of the banks selectively hacked down by SLS only for you to turn round and see others which cooked bigger books about their results left unharassed hence continue business as usual, would you have taken the position you currently take on this issue? It is like a school teacher who gave a homework to his pupils and tells them ahead that whichever of them scores below 40% would be flogged. But on marking the homework the next day he flogs some of the below 40% scorers and left the others, and when querried he asks, "Did anyone of those I selectively flogged really score up 40%?"Then parents during the next PTA meeting bring up the matter and in response the principal tells them not to worry as another teacher will one day be employed and he too will punish those whom the present one refused to flog even though they fell short of the 40%. It obviously means that the teacher flogged those pupils not really because of their scores but for something else entirely. Please if you happen to have your children in such a school, will you still leave them there? No strength for argument all you have said ok. |

Deadlytruth: While SLS was First Bank MD, the bank had up to N200bn non-performing loan burden, but on becoming CBN governor shortly afterwards, his hammer which landed on Oceanic and others deliberately missed First Bank. Why?
Secondly, the way and manner by which SLS nationalized Bank PHB, Spring Bank and one other one betrayed a hidden agenda thus wasn't therefore about the alleged atrophying states of the banks. Recall that he had earlier set a deadline all by himself for them to recapitalize only for him to just wake up from the wrong side of his bed more than a month to that deadline and nationalize them on the exuse that even if he had waited till the deadline they still wouldn't have been able to meet up. Did he have supernatural powers or ESP? Why preempt a process set in motion by his own self without the input of anyone else? By that action alone, shareholders of those banks lost more than the $20bn he later accused Jonathan of mismanaging. Not that I blame him though. It was all the fault of Jonathan who tolerated anything, however evil and unwholesome, just in order to please whoever appeared to matter to his second term ambition. If not, I still can't understand why GEJ didn't sack the man for abuse of office as soon as he committed the havoc of preempting a deadline which he himself set for certain banks to recapitalize. And Skye bank that was given enough grace to recapitalize what happened to it in the long run? Am not justifying whatever wrong doing after all, i lost monies in both Bank phb and oceanic but the truth be told those banks were they healthy? They were paddling things up making us to believe all was well. The point am making is this, let the best economist manage the affairs of CBN as long as the system is not transparent things will still not work well in the long run. |

PETERiCHY: It's all politics if not why didn't Sanusi wield the big stick on UNITYBK & WEMABK then U cant rule politics out of it but to be sincere those banks in question were they not sinking already with reckless insider abuse in term of loans given to directors and their cronies? |

rebekah2011: Disaster waiting to happen be that. We do not need an Ex-Banker in that office again. We need a seasoned Economist. My Prof Charles soludo a seasoned economist after the recapitalization under his watch, what happened to Bank PHB, spring bank, oceanic and intercontinental bank? These banks were recapitalized under his watch and he kept assuring everyone then that they were not having going concern issues not until sanusi took over and made us know the true picture of the whole rot in the system. To me good monetary polices and transparency is what matters most either seasoned economist/Banker can be |

feelamong: Stock market is falling while the Money market is bullish.
when rates are dropping (Price rising if you deal on bonds) in the Money markets, it means the market is bullish. However its bearish when rates are rising.
however in stock market, when prices are falling, its bearish; i think that is the best time to even look for some good stocks to buy if you can take the risk. Yes sir the best time to buy, the earning season is also around the corner. No matter how it falls I can't run away and in the next few weeks market would stabilize and more monies would be made. Just position in good Stocks. |

tritritri: I get ur point..But u need to understand what it is ..Inversely proportional ... U forgot to add dat bear of 2 days will net u loss of 1.2M as well ?
abi no be same stock wey some people never break even , Got your point but also note that, it depends on the entry price and even with massive sell off, am still winning. Stocks is part of me no matter what TB gives, TB will always be number second in my investment scale of preference all i do is just 2-4 maximum good stock then i watch as they dance on the floor of NSE |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by aremso(m): 6:10pm On Feb 28, 2019 |
tritritri: Very funny..T.B did better dan ASI last year . it depends on how you view it, stocks can give me 25-30% in less than 364 days where as, TB can only give max may be 18%. Though stock is not meant for the heart fainted investor but when you invest in sound stocks with track record nothing to worry about cos when market changed gear, those stocks would take the lead in rising first. Imagine Bull run of 2 days alone gave me about 1.2m if it is TB i will have to waith for like 90-180 days before i can get such amount of return |

anjilgreat: On the contrary, it would have been more devastating if T. Bill and Bond rates have increased sporadically. As at today's T.Bill rate is on the decline.
The negative impact on the NSE is as a result of the current political brouhaha between PDP and APC. The negative impact will be short-term only, don't forget that the earning period is around the corner and oil price is stabilizing positively! very correct sir.! i still cant go away from stocks, its my gain from stocks that will go into TB. |

OakPearl: The current depression if not due to deep pockets trying to buy at cheapest prices, then it could be reaction to the news of Atiku's decision to seek redress in the court for the just concluded presidential poll. Otherwise, the market was upbeat before the polls and rearing to go higher as results kept trickling in. Every dust will eventually settle, and the market will bounce back especially with the fixed income markets (Bonds, TB, etc) experiencing lower rates now. No need for panic selling if you are a mid or long term investor. But then again, I may be wrong. Mr. Market knows it all. Correct sir, am going nowhere that was why in sold my fbn for 3.90 something kobo and only for the stock to get to 16 naira. no panic sales at all. |
