Where is the second Cocoa House?

[s]Why can't you understand that a Nigerian can build something in the 50s under British supervision (and to be honest, I don't ]know the constructors, contractors for Cocoa House, but I'm guessing they weren't indigenous) and fail to do so under their rotten system. Compare the projects started by Nigerians abroad to what Nigerians build in Nigeria for example. There all manner of architects, engineers, and other kinds of technocrats who do amazing work outside Nigeria, but Nigeria is still rotten. The fact is Cocoa House and Liberty Stadium are completely rotten today. Not even South Africa boasts about Hilbrow.

As for south eastern Nigeria, having the largest market in Africa was probably more beneficial to them than a tower and a stadium.
[/s]

1. Do we still have regional administration?

2. What about the other regions? Were they allergic to british supervisions which prevented them from accomplishing the same Firsts In Nigeria and Africa?

You are not making any sense and you really need to quit these silly and 2 year old questions.

The Lagos you see today was just a slave port until the British moved the capital of the southern protectorate from Calabar to Lagos in the 1800's.
This did not alter my claim that the old western region led by Awolowo built many Firsts In Africa, something the other regions under their own regional governments were unable to do.

So, your view about capital this and that remains mute and irrelevant.

Lagos benefited by being the capital of Nigeria for many decades through federal presence and the tax money of all Nigerians. That's what I mean that we all collectively built Lagos. When you come to the South west as a whole, outside Lagos, there isn't a single commercial or economic hub
Lagos as the federal capital was confined to Lagos Island, but the commercial drive mainly the industrial estates from Ikeja to Apapa, Matori, Ilupeju and Mushi industrial estates the old western region led by Awolowo were and remains on the on the mainland which was part of the old western region so in effect, the FG's presence remains mute and irrelevant.

But in the South east, you can talk about the markets of Onitsha, the manufacturing base of Aba, the industrial city of Nnewi and the fast rising agro-allied industries of Orlu. These are not even state capitals. Yoruba economic greatness starts and stops in Lagos.
This is a reflection of your own ignorance.

Ogun state today sites more industries than the whole of SS and SE combined many times over. All you have in the SE are beer factories and insignificant nothings.. You can not name more than 5 serious industrial operations.

I laugh when Yorubas say that Igbos troop to the South west. Igbos troop everwhere they think there is money to be made.
You are agreeing with me that your towns and villages have nothing to offer you, your past and future ibo generations because your unproductive towns and villages can not give you your daily bread hence you migrating to the SW where there is money and opportunity.

Nigerians from outside your land are not tropping to your unproductive land because there is nothing there for them.

[s]From Gabon to Senegal to Ghana to Togo, there are huge Igbo populations. The last time I was in Cotonue, I thought I was in Enugu. Nigeria is too small for the scale of Igbo ambitiousness. The Yoruba Man is nowhere as commercially savvy as the Igbo man, that's why an Igbo man can go to Akure and make money but a Yoruba man doesn't even how to cross the river Niger into Onitsha.

Britain provided the framework of Nigeria to be able to organise such projects which is why there isn't a second coca house. If this was solely an indigenous feat Ibadan would have several Cocoa houses just like there would be several train eastern lines in the east. And yes, in a way Britian was in charge of industries in the 'south west'. That's the point of colonialism.
lmao.....

What framework?

1. The framework that whispered into Awo's head to build all these Firsts in Nigeria? grin

2. Were the other regions specifically the SE allergic to this wonderful british framework which made it impossible for them to build their own firsts in Nigeria and Africa? grin

3. So, Awolowo built Ikeja, Mushin, Apapa, Ilupeju and Matori industrial estates and put the british in charge to to run them? Is this dude for real? grin

4. The british also was in charge of cocoa house, liberty stadium and so on...right? grin

That's nice, but the fact remains, Nigeria is only relevant because of the crude oil in the delta. Lagos itself has benefited from that. And to be honest, much of the historic firsts were under the British administration, not in independence when oil was already discovered.
Under Britain or Roman empire, the SW survived and advanced rapidly ahrad of the other regions before oil.

The British government was not the premier of the western region, Obafemi Awolowo was.

The British government did not build or awarded any of the contracts, it was done by Obafemi Awolowo.

The British government the not pay for the infrastructures, the western regional government paid with cocoa, rubber money and taxes from the western region.

Please keep up woth your history books.

Oil remains and association remains a needless distraction.

Nothing keeps Nigeria afloat but crude oil. Everything else is chicken shit. So nobody really contributes anything but the natural earth.
1. The SW survived comfortably before oil was discovered.

2. The SW under the old western region built many historic "First In Nigeria" structures without oil money.

3. The SW built all the industrial estates in Lagos from Ikeja industrial estate to Matori, Apapa, Mushin and Ilupeju industrial and these industries are still responsible for countless jobs and a major chunk of Nigeria's industrial output, goods and services.

All before Nigeria became a country and infact, oil and affiliation with the rest of the country slowed down the SW because the SW achieved all the above in less than 10 years so imagine the SW today without the association and oil bargage.

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, currently facing corruption charges, was worth N10 billion (by current exchange rate) at the time he assumed office as governor of Kwara State in 2003.
While his entire assets, including cash, landed properties and shares in Nigeria and abroad stood at about N8 billion, those of his wife totalled N1.8 billion and his four children N202 million.
These are contained in the asset declaration form and the affidavit Mr. Saraki deposed to before an Ilorin High Court and submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau on September 16, 2003.
The document entitled “Form CCB 1: Asset Declaration Form for Public Officers,” was exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES.
Mr. Saraki was on September 18 this year docked at the Code of Conduct Tribunal on a 13-count charge bordering on alleged corruption and false declaration of assets.
He was specifically accused of deliberately manipulating the asset declaration form he submitted prior to his assumption of his current position as senate president.
Although he pleaded not guilty to the charges, claiming his ordeal was politically motivated, the CCT adjourned the case to October 21, 22 and 23 for further hearing.
His wife had earlier been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged complicity in shady contract deals during her husband’s tenure as governor between 2003 and 2011.
The assets declaration form showed that Mr. Saraki, who was a little over 40 years at the time he assumed office, had only N2.5 million cash at hand and a total of N51 million in various Nigerian banks at the time he filed the document.
He was also worth a total of £2.9 million and $400,000 lodged in some foreign banks at the time. That was besides owning landed and movable assets running into billions of naira and pound sterling in Nigeria and London.
He also held a substantial number of shares in a number of local and foreign companies valued at millions of naira and pounds.
Mr. Saraki said while he had N11,050,000 in the defunct Societe Generale Bank, where his family had interest, he had N350,000, N3 million and N390,000 in EcoBank, Guaranty Trust Bank and the defunct Citizen Bank, respectively, all in Lagos.
Besides, one of Mr. Saraki’s companies – Better Foods Ltd – had N600,000 and N23 million in Citizen Bank, Broad Street, Lagos and Societe Generale Bank, Oke Arin Street, Lagos, respectively.
Two other companies, namely Carlisle Properties & Investment Limited and BAS Trading and Manufacturing Ltd had N10.2 million and N2.9 million in accounts domiciled in EcoBank and Guaranty Trust Bank.
The senate president, in Appendix 2 of the document, declared a total of £905 million in one of his offshore accounts domiciled in Coutts & Co. 440 Strand, London.
Tyberry Corporation, another of his companies, had £2 million in Forte Bank, Camoile Street, London.
He also opened an account for his company, Eficaz Ltd, at Northern Trust International Banking Corporation Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner, where he had $400,000 at the time he declared the assets.
In Appendix 3 of the form, Mr. Saraki also detailed eight landed property scattered in various parts of Lagos and Abuja which he said he acquired between December 1991 and March 2000, all valued at N2.3 billion.
According to him, a plot of land in Lekki, Lagos that he acquired in February 1992 was valued at N7 million while another one in Ajah he got in November 1992 was valued at N5 million.
Yet in November 1996, he acquired a plot in the Maitama District at N160 million.
Other properties he declared are those owned by his companies – a N750 million property at 42 Gerrard Road, Ikoyi owned by Skyview Properties Ltd; a N500 million property at 19 Ruxton road, Ikoyi, Lagos by Skyview Properties Ltd; and a N100 million property at 62 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi.
He declared the rental value of the property as N110 million, N65 million and N6 million per annum, respectively.
One of his companies, Carlisle Properties Ltd owned a property worth N160 million at No 15A & 15B McDonald Road, Ikoyi while BAS Trading owned a property on Musa Yar’Adua Street, Victoria Island, also in Lagos, valued at N700 million.
The rental income of the latter was N96 million per annum. He did not disclose that of the former.
Outside Nigeria, Mr. Saraki had landed property worth $12.9 million, all of which he listed in Appendix 5.
The properties, according to the document, were all located in London, UK.
According to him, the value of the properties at 123 Ashley Gardens, Thirlebey Road, London, (acquired in April 1990), 54 Ashley Road Gardens, Ambrasden Avenue ( acquired in January 1995) and 70 Bourne Street, London SW 1 (acquired in January 2002), were valued at $750,000, $2.55 million and $4.8 million, respectively.
He also declared some properties as belonging to his companies.
The property at 56 Cheque Road, London (valued at $900,000) and another located at Ormond House, Crimond Street, London SW 1 (valued at $400,000) were owned by European & America Trading Company.
Three others located at 53, 54 and 141 Ashley Gardens, London, were owned by Tyberry Corporation. The values were $2.5 million, $2.5 million and $600,000.
In Appendix 4, Mr. Saraki listed 15 various movable assets, mainly motor vehicles which he acquired between 1997 and 2002 all at a total value of N263.4 million.
The vehicles and their prices are a Mercedes S320 valued at N16 million; Mercedes S500 (N20 million); Mercedes G500 (N18 million); Mercedes V220 (N6million); Mercedes 300 E (N2 million); Ferrari 456 GT (N25 million); Navigator (N15 million); Mercedes ML 240 (N8.5 million); Peugeot 406 (N2.9 million); Mercedes CLK 320 (N9 million).

He said he acquired the cars proceeds of “Business” and “Savings.”
Mr. Saraki also declared a number of shares he held in different companies in Nigeria and abroad.
For instance, in Nigeria, the senate president said at the time he became governor he had a total of 1,204,653 shares in four companies valued at N2.2 million.
The companies were African Petroleum, UNIPETROL, Airline Catering and Central Petroleum.
Other organisations where he held huge shares were GTB where he had 100,000 worth N425,000.
These shares in the bank were however bought in his son’s name, Seni.
Outside Nigeria, Mr. Saraki declared he had shares in five companies, namely Gensoft, All African Media Coy, Merrill BBH Fund, Mundernet Fund and Izorch Inc.
The 100,000 shares he held at Gensoft were valued at €2.6 million while the total number of shares in the remaining four companies was worth $6.1 million.
His company, HAUSSMAN, however held 160 units of shares with a total value of $1.5 million in some foreign companies. It had 25,000 shares valued at $100,000 in Mundernet Fund, 10,000 valued at $400,000 in Eaton Vanice Fund, 50,000 shares valued at $700,000 in PIMCO Fund and 75,000 shares worth $300,000 in Merrill BBH.
The embattled senate president is currently on trial for alleged corruption and false declaration of assets.
The embattled senate president is currently on trial for alleged corruption and false declaration of assets.
Wife
He stated in the assets declaration form that his wife held an account in EcoBank Broad Street, Lagos, where she had N1.5 million at the time he became governor.
She also maintained an account in Coutts & Co Strand, London where she owned £450,000 and $125,000.
She also had $3 million in Northern Trust International Banking Corporation Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner.
Mrs. Saraki also maintained substantial shares in European and American Trading Company, Tyberry Corporation and EFICAZ Ltd.
Other property the senate president listed against his wife’s name were a plot of land at Lekki valued at N5 million which he said was a gift he received in January 1989.
She also had a property at 15 Bryanston Square, London W1 and 69 Bourne Street, London.
While the first, whose rental income he put at £48,000 with a value of £900,000, was acquired in January 1989, the second, whose value was £2m and had rental value of £150,000 was acquired for business in April 2000.
Mr. Saraki also declared that his wife held 500,000 shares, valued at £500,000, at P.C.C (U.K) Ltd.
He was silent on the number of shares the former first lady had in HAUSSMANN and TINY TEE (Nig) Ltd.
Children
In APPENDIX 1 of the form, the senate president also detailed the property owned by his four children, whose names he gave as Tosin, Seni, Teniola and Teniayo.
According to the document, Tosin had N700,000 in the family bank, Societe Generale Bank while Seni had N400,000 in the same family bank.
Outside Nigeria, Tosin and Seni jointly maintained an account in Northern Trust International Banking Corporation Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner, where they had £400,000 while Teniola and Teniayo had £250,000 in the same bank at the time.
In Coutts & Co. 440 Strand, London, Tosin and Seni had £1000 and £500, respectively.
Saraki’s Case At Code of Conduct Bureau
In what some interpreted as political persecution, Mr. Saraki was arraigned last month before the CCT for false declaration of assets seven years after he concluded his two terms as governor.
In one of the 13-count charge, the senate president was accused of making anticipatory declaration of asset, thus breaching the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap C15, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The charge reads, “That you, Dr. Olubukola Abubakar Saraki, while being the Executive Governor of Kwara State on or about 16th September, 2003 within the jurisdiction of this Hon. Tribunal, did make a false declaration in assets declaration form for public officers on assumption of office as Governor of Kwara State by making an anticipatory asset declaration in that you claimed to have owned and acquired No. 15A and N0. 15B McDonald Ikoyi, Lagos through your company Carlisle Properties Limited in the year 2006 when the said property was in actual fact sold by the Implementation Committee on Federal Government landed property in the year 2006 to your companies Tiny Tee Limited and Vitti Oil Limited for the aggregate sum of N396, 150, 000 and you hereby committed an offence under Section 15 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap C15, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and incorporated under Paragraph 11(1) and (2) of Part 1, 5th Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and punishable under Section 23(2) of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act and incorporated under Paragraph 18 of part 1, 5th Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).”
Career History
Mr. Saraki, a medical doctor, assumed office as governor on May 29, 2003.
He served as medical officer for about one year at Rush Green Hospital, London between 1988 and 1989.
He later served as Director of SGB, owned by his late father, Olusola, between 1990 and 2000. In 2000, former President Olusegun Obasanjo named him his special assistant on budget.
He also served on the Economic Policy Coordination Committee, where he had the task of formulating and implementation key economic policies for the country.
In 2003, he ran for the office of governor of Kwara State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and won.
Societie Generale Bank, the bank in which he was director, became insolvent around the same time, with several depositors losing their savings.
He was re-elected in 2007. During his second tenure, he served as chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.
Mr. Saraki later showed interest in running for president in 2011 but was excluded alongside two others from the presidential race by the Adamu Ciroma-led Northern Political Leaders Forum, which picked a former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, as its consensus candidate.
That year, he was however elected into the Senate to represent Kwara Central senatorial District on the platform of the PDP.
He was re-elected in 2015 on the platform of the APC. He had led some other PDP senators to defect to the party in early 2014.
He emerged senate president on June 9 against the wishes of his party and some of its leading chieftains.

It seems that they lack the capacity for insight into their behaviors. They seem incapable of seeing themselves as other people see them. They continue to see themselves as innocent people while engaging in evil behaviors.
hey talk about the civil war ab-neuseum. As in most things about them, they present themselves as victims of other Nigerians and talk as if they are innocent. They want folks to see them as angels and see other Nigerians as evil.

They talk about the civil war ab-neuseum. As in most things about them, they present themselves as victims of other Nigerians and talk as if they are innocent. They want folks to see them as angels and see other Nigerians as evil.

They forget that it was they who started the whole thing by calling other Nigerians insulting put down names and killing the leaders of other Nigerian tribes in the January 1966 military coup and did not kill their own leaders. They attack other people (psychologically by degrading them and physically by killing Hausa and Yoruba leaders) and when those they attacked defended themselves by counter attacking them they pretend to be innocent victims unto whom the world does bad things to.

They lost that war largely due to their known pathological selfishness. They would give their brothers money to go overseas and buy weapons for their soldiers to fight with and those pursuing their self- centered life styles pocket most of such moneys and with leftovers buy antiquated, ancient and useless rifles for their people's military. Thus it came to pass that their military was no match to the well- equipped Nigerian military (give an Igbo money to spend on public matters and he redirects it to his personal pocket).

bnovative:
And did u read the rebuttal? no! for u
akpabio is already guilty.
Akpabio, who spoke through Akwa Ibom
State Commissioner for Information, Mr.
Aniekan Umanah, said those accusing him
of impropriety did not know the workings
of government.
Umanah said:”Every sum withdrawn from
a government account is tied to a
subhead and there must be a budgetary
provision. To attribute fraud to
withdrawals, which had the full sanction
of government and was accommodated in
the budget, is strange, mischievous and
untenable. More so, when one
understands that there are checks and
balances which guide all aspects of
government financial administration.”
He said the allegation that the state
government spent N50 billion on the
March general elections falls flat based on
his explanation of the workings of
government on financial transactions.
“There was no such provision in the
budget of this year and such an amount
could not have been paid as an extra-
budgetary expenditure and yet salaries
and other commitments were met. We
challenge the petitioners to provide proof
to support this wild allegation. Who was it
paid to? How was it paid? Where was it
paid? And when was it paid,”the
commissioner said.
“Senator Akpabio does not own a 25-
storey building in Victoria Island or in any
part of the world, as alleged by the
petitioner. It is also patent falsehood that
the house at 22 Probyn Road, Ikoyi
belongs to Senator Akpabio.
“It is a rented building which ownership
can be verified from the Lagos State
Lands Registry.
“Senator Akpabio does not own the
properties mentioned in the petition to
belong to him. You can verify the
ownership of the properties (5 Okokosi
Close, Maitama and Plot 28 Colorado
Close, Maitama) from the land registry in
Abuja,” he said.
He also denied that the state received
over N2 trillion as oil allocation.
“Please do note that the idea that the
Akwa Ibom State government received
over N2.5 trillion in the eight years of the
Akpabio administration is an outrageous
lie.
“What this suggests is that the state
government received an average of N26
billion monthly for the period. What a lie!
From published accounts of disbursement
from the Federation Account, Akwa Ibom
State never received up to N26 billion in
any month throughout the period
[/s]

1. I did not make any assertion about akpabio's guilt, I said the allegations about Fashola spending too much on a website is a matter of opinion since this is the state's mandated going rate the agencies involved by law go by when awarding contracts.

2. The allegations against Fashola was misguided and misapplied since the state agencies involved was responsible for the contracts by law and not Fashola. The should have tender their concern before the state legistlature to scrutinize the way the agencies award contracts and make changes if needed.

3. Spending too much on website is not a crime, it's a matter of opinion and if you really need answers, ask the agencies involved unless you have credible evidence that the Fashola awarded the contracts himself and directly enriched himself, how much he diverted, how he cashed the checks and in whose account the money landed.

4. Per Akpabio, his case is very different. This is about billions taken out of the treasury without any specific project or service attached to the huge withdrawals..

5. Hiding under rubber stamp legislative budgets is nothing but a shell game to give official cover to day light looting. After telling us that the money was secured under legislative approved budgets, you still have to tell us what the money was used for precisely.

6. The old game of looting is to assign huge funds to special duties which is a slush money with no specific goals or agenda, it's free money to do anything with and such absurdity exists only in Nigeria.

7. Akpabio's job now is to explain to the EFCC whate necessitated N18 billion for N18 billion under the guise of special services. Sounds more like entertainment money.

9. Akpabio presided over the richest state in Nigeria and the largest state budgets, but after 8 years in office, he did not build 1 single hospital and the only one he labeled hospital shortly before leaving office was an empty building with no hospital staff and the rented equipment he showed of with were removed by the renters. It's basically an empty building erected just to deceive.

10. He was able to withdraw N18 billion for special services aka smoke screen, but still couldn't equip his empty so called hospital with life saving equipments for his people to access to save their lives.

11. His N39 billion football fiels is a waste since the place is yet to host anything since commissioning. The people of akwa ibom are yet to make 1 kobo off that fiitball field.

12. After budgets after budgets and after billions upon billions, the Tropicana is still uncompleted, he commissioned a cinema and an empty mall.

13. The only projects he completed after the roads and flyover are.

A. 1 cinema

B. 1. Library

C. 1 Football field.

That's all he did with the largest yearly budgets in Nigeria. A state with just 5 million people.

Fashola with 20 million people and smaller budgets commissioned projects practically everyday till he left office.

Alleged N20bn Fraud:group Drags Fayemi, Others To EFCC, ICPC

The former governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has been dragged to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and then Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) over alleged fraudulent practices, running to over N20 billion.

https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/20141007_145845-e1412775191795-768x1024.jpg?c7245b

The Save Ekiti Coalition (SEC), which made this allegation, wrote petition dated September 26, 2014 to the EFCC and ICPC and the petition was submitted in Abuja on September 29, 2014.

The petition signed by SEC Secretary, Comrade Oke Ayodele was titled; “Complaint of fraudulent practices against Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and others: call for investigation and prosecution.”

The group said the frauds were perpetrated through N2.6 billion construction of new civic centre, N383.9m earthwork for new governor’s office, diversion of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Local Councils funds through contracts worth N4.2bn, inflation of road contracts worth over N10bn and diversion of N1.2bn FADAMA fund.

The petition read in part; “Contract for the construction of a New Civic Centre was awarded to TIANJIN-YUYANG Construction Eng. Limited on August 30, 2012 at the cost of N2, 573,584,395.75, while Consultancy on the construction was awarded to CASA Nig Ltd on June 11, 2012 at the cost of N137, 611,325.07.

20140929_170623-1

“Curiously, as at the end of 2012, a sum of N643,396,098.94 (representing 25% of total contract sum) had been paid to TIANJIN-YUYANG Construction Eng. Limited while the consultant, CASA Nig. Ltd was paid N89,801,901.06 (representing 80% of total contract sum).

“In 2013, a sum of N350, 116,245.17 was paid to TIANJIN-YUYANG Construction Eng. Limited, making a total sum of N993, 512,344.11 (representing 45% of total contract sum).
“While the Project contractor was paid 25% of the contract sum in 2012, why was the consultant paid 80% of the contract sum? Information available to us indicates that the Consultant was hurriedly paid 80% of the contract sum so as to enable some officials of the government get N50m of the contract sum. “Also, payment to the contractor was changed to N350, 116,245.17 in the 2014 Capital Projects Report, as against the sum of N643, 396,098.94 presented in the 2013 Capital Projects Report.

“Contract for the construction of earthwork for the N ew Governor’s Office was awarded to PONTI-ITALWARE Nig Ltd on March 3, 2012 at the sum of N383, 900,911.06, with a sum of N115, 170,273.32 paid to the contractor. The New Governor’s Office was proposed to be constructed
from the N25bn Bond obtained by the State Government, with N3, 474,700.000.00 earmarked for the project. “However, with N115, 170,273.32 paid to PONTI-ITALWARE Nig Ltd form earthwork, as at today, the site has been abandoned, with no significant work done.

20141007_145915

“By our own assessment, what was spent on the site cannot be more than N5m. “Also, in the 2014 Capital Projects Report, the N115, 170,273.32 paid for the earthwork was deleted, raising poser as to why the payment was missing from the 2014 updated account.

“In 2012, contracts worth N4, 246,094,751.14 were awarded through the Bureau of Special Projects (under the Governor’s office), headed by Mr. Kelekun. The contracts were for renovation of schools, supply of school furniture and construction of classrooms. Funds for these projects were taken from SUBEB and Local Governments accounts.

“Of these contracts, N3, 672,078,820.14 were for renovation of schools alone. Atlantic Offshore & Properties got N1, 152,562,555.14, Strabic Nig. Ltd got N1, 107,744.408.21, Bam Darley Nig. Ltd. got N924, 977,310.95 while Fatub Nig. Ltd got N486, 794,545.84.

“Immediately the renovation contracts were awarded, Atlantic Offshore & Properties was paid N750 million (70% of contract sum), Strabic Nig. Ltd was paid N600 million (65% of contract sum), Bam Darley Nig. Ltd was paid N600 million (70% of contract sum) while Fatub Nig.
Engineering Ltd was paid N150 million (60% of contract sum). “A total of N2.1bn was paid from SUBEB and LG accounts to these contractors even before the commencement of work, and over 40% of the payment was diverted into private pockets.

20141007_145944

https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/20141007_145944-e1412775299915-768x1024.jpg?c7245b

“In the 2014 Capital Projects Report, payments to the contractors were presented as;
a: Atlantic Offshore & Properties – N1, 022,130,415.64
b: Strabic Nig. Ltd – N957, 237,829.62
c: Bam Darley Nig. Ltd – N742, 730,990.25
d: Fatub Engineering Nig. Ltd – N431, 327,270.41

“As at the time N1, 022,130,415.64 was paid to Atlantic Offshore & Properties, only 60% work had been done, meaning that Atlantic Offshore & Properties was only entitled to N691, 537,551. Bam Darley
Nig. Ltd that was paid N742, 730,990.25 had done 60% work too and ought to have been paid N554, 986,386.57.
“Contracts for REHABILITATION of Roads were awarded at highly inflated cost, with some of the roads costing as high N50 million per kilometre when the immediate past government awarded CONSTRUCTION of roads at less than N45m per kilometre. The REHABILITATION only involved cutting of failed portion, filling with laterite and stone base and asphalt overlay. No subsoil drainages, new pipe culverts and box culverts were constructed.

“For instance, 10.7km Ado-Afao was awarded at N538, 638,704.26, 17km Ilawe-Igbara Odo-Ibuji road, which was awarded at a little above N200m by the immediate past government was re-awarded to at N894,698,043.75, 11.5km Ado-Ilawe road was awarded at N482,849,098.20, 3.6km
Ijigbo-Baptist College (Ilawe road) was awarded at N788,038,599.60 while Fajuyi-University Teaching Hospital Road that is less than3km was awarded at N447,544,063.50

“Rehabilitation of 13km Old Garrage-Ado-Ikere road was awarded to Plycon Nig Ltd at N2, 369,833,077.15.

“Construction of 0.8km Old Garrage-Ojumose (Ado-Ekiti) road was awarded to Heartland Nig. Ltd at N866, 872,873.13.

“Using the State Public Works Corporation (PWC), rehabilitation 5km township roads were embarked upon in each of the 16 LGs. Contracts for the rehabilitation of these roads were awarded without any input from the respective LGs while fund for the project was deducted from the
local councils allocation. “For instance, rehabilitation of 5km roads in Moba LG was awarded for N368, 950,821.09, Ido/Osi LG for N329, 950,821.50 and Ilejemeje LG for N347, 914,157.68. Apart from the PWC, cronies of Governor Kayode Fayemi were also given the contract. Most of the road projects have been abandoned.

“In 2010, the World Bank in collaboration with the Federal Government released $7.5m (about N1.2bn) for FADAMA III Project. The State Government was expected to provide counterpart fund of N100m. FADAMA III was for LIVESTOCK farmers. “However, the N100m counterpart fund was not provided by the State government until 2013.

“Instead of using this fund for the purpose for which the World Bank and FG released it, the State Government set up a scheme called Youths Commercial Agriculture Development Programme (YCAD) and used the FADAMA III grant from the World Bank and FG to fund it.

6-10 YCAD farmers were purportedly given N6 million each while FADAMA farmers, who registered FUGs of Ten (10) farmers collectively applied for six hundred and ninety thousand Naira only (N69,000.00 per farmer) were left unfunded.

“There were just 142 YCAD members, but the government claimed they were 15,000. “The government also claimed that it bought NINE Tractors at N98m and constructed abattoir for N18m. However, the tractors claimed to have been bought with N98m were the ones supplied to Ekiti State by the federal government during the immediate past administration of Engr Segun Oni.

“Also, the N100m counterpart fund paid by the State government into FADAMA’s ECO Bank, Ado-Ekiti account was later returned to the government coffers.

“For FADAMA IV, a sum of $10.5m (about N1.7bn) was released in August, this year by the World Bank in collaboration with the FG for cassava plantation. Moves are now being made to siphon this fund.”

I read this essay twice and still din't see any criminal activity or embezzlement, just a laundry list of contracts, amount paid to contractors, suggestions and innuendos..

Maybe it's just me, please highlight the criminal part like stealing money, embezzlement and in whose account all the money went...

With akpabio, billions was taken out of the state's pocket with zero specific reason/s per what was done with the funds and this is why the EFCC is eyeing akpabio.

Saying Lagos state spent too much money on a website is just your opinion and it doesn't mean any crime was committed especially since the contract was awarded based on the documented going rates at the agencies involved and for Fashola to be criminally liable for anything, you have to prove that the money or part of the money went into his pocket or bank account which is not what they are alleging, just that the state spent too much in this and that which is really not a crime, it's just your own opinion.

And you wonder why the EFCC don't pay attention to these silly and waste of time rubbish..

He Is Our Demi God Compadium Of 9 Powerful Quotes Of Ojukwu by Ifeduba
1. The history of the world is a chronicle of oppression.
2. Since oppression is maintained by force, it is only possible to remove that oppression by a counterforce.
3. The illegal regime in Lagos under Gowon has accused Biafra of playing politics with her people’s misery. Our answer is simple: “We do not play politics. We are not masochists; rather, we are a people who choose to hunger a little to remain alive instead of feeding fat to become respectable corpses.”
4. We do not ask for pity. We make no apologies for the social phenomenon known as the Biafran revolution; rather, we proclaim with pride the inevitability of our struggle, the indestructability of our people, and the assured finality of our success.
5. Biafra is a child of circumstance…His existence and survival are always a marvel, sometimes bordering on a miracle. His life is a tribute to man, his courage is his endurance, his ingenuity is his humanity.
6. For unity to be meaningful it has to be creative, not the unity of Jonah in the whale but the unity of holy matrimony. The first can only lead to defecation, the second to procreation.
7. If a leader accepts himself as already dead to society, there will be no reason for cowardice in his leadership. One thing that frightens leaders and lead them to a number of excesses is usually fear of death. No leader should fear death. In fact, you should accept the fact that from the moment of leadership you are sacrificed to death. Each subsequent day becomes a bonus for the preparation of one’s memorial.
8. What I have become, in this struggle is the mouthpiece of my people. I go where they push and no more. The day I think otherwise, the day I act otherwise, that day my people, without compromising the struggle, will find another person to express their aspirations.
9. We are humans. We live. We fight, fight because the decision to be free is a decision taken freely and collectively, because to become involved in violent struggle for freedom is the only honor left to an oppressed people threatened with genocide, because in the final analysis the only true bulwark against death is to live. Biafra rejects death…Biafra lives
