With due respect Sir, I still don't see how this sermon relate with the thread. You make allegation that the last administration was the most corrupt but you have nothing to justify your claim. Add to this, you expect everyone to sign up to such a blind assertion. I shake my head! I don't even expect you to agree or disagree, my own is to share information that are based on FACT and can stand the test of time. You may continue to beat around circle in your bid to defend YOUR APC team/colleagues. But I let you to your conscience (if you have any)
Unfortunately for you, you forgot to share with us your facts regarding corruption against the people you named in this thread aka Tinubu and Amaechi.

I really don't think you read over the unintelligent rubbish you type and post on NL.

The joker is even talking about conscience. You sit here everyday supporting and defending corrupt people with zero conscience...

the number 1 reason why Nigerians kicked your oga and his gang out of office was because of corruption so how idiotic of you to even ask us to show you facts?

Why not ask the millions of the Nigerian majority that voted and booted your oga back to his village to show you facts..

Even Jona himself won't say his admin wasn't corrupt.

How do you expect me to take you serious on corruption issues when you are defending corruption with all your strength.

I brought in Ogundamisi because you like every other PDP members label anyone who criticizes Jonathan and the PDP as APC members. FYI, my cousin Prophet Jones Erue who runs a ministry in Portharcourt is the Delta state APC chairman but I have not spoken to him in years. So count me out and don't force a political party on me just because I constantly state my disdain for that treacherous party PDP.

This whole exposé came to light because the LASG said Fash inflated the price of the project to the tune of 78m and posted proof. The governor came out to say that a project initiated in his name firstly, wasn't his. Secondly he claimed he used below 10m for the website without proof.

The company told you how much they got not how much Fash embezzled from the govt.
That's why I said there was no common sense in your earlier post.

If truly fash used 10m, why didn't he show proof? Or did u not also see the document LASG posted? So you expect me to believe the utterances of a Nigerian political without proof and u claim your an intelligent individual?

I'm sorry for you. Honestly I am.

3. The burden is still on the agency to show us payment documentation reflecting 10 or 78 million payment.

They have to show us who they wrote the check/s to, for what amount and who cashed the checks.

Not all those who visit nairaland are tech-illiterates. Upgrading a website is NOT rocket science. Ask any software developer, programmer or IT-savvy person. Even the big tech giants such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Google etc, would provide you with tech assistance to carry out such a project for less than one-third of the amount quoted up here. In the past few years, there has been a proliferation of tools, kits and info., for developing and upgrading websites that do not cost an arm and a leg. Even cyber-security solutions are increasingly more affordable these days! So where are these huge numbers coming from??! angry

I don't want to go into details, but saying you spent 78 million to upgrade a website, is like saying you spent 750,000 naira to charter a cab for 3 hours, to go by road from Lagos to Ibadan, in a painted city taxi. Is that taxi gold-plated? shocked shocked

The agency you mentioned is owned by the state govt, and takes directives from the governor. Do all ministries not have a commissioner or permanent secretary that is accountable to the governor?? So who is fooling whom? undecided

780 million is NOT small pocket change, that can be hidden as a line item in the balance sheet. Ask any accountant.

They stated in their description that the 78 million was for "upgrade of a website." Those were their own words. Not mine.

So why are you trying to act as if those figures and description were pulled out of thin air?? shocked

This seems a more reasonable response than Mr Fashola's own, but your explanation is not without its own problems:

- why were these 'other sites' not listed along with Mr Fashola's site in the list provided by the govt

- just as N70million is too much for a website or a series of websites, N10 million for several website including 'lifetime' maintenance is also implausibly low. How long is lifetime? 10, 20, 0 50, 100 years?
Sounds very unreasonable to list contract terms constituting tons of pages on such platform and if I might add, the company just asserted the terms of the contract so it's up to you, the state and the folks contesting the issue to counter the assertions with documented government records..

The burden is now on you and the state prove them wrong.

You can not in one breath determine what's to high and in another breath determine what's too low.

You are trying to have it both ways..

- i suppose 'lifetime' means to the end of Mr Fashola's tenure. So, has the website shut down now? If not, does it means Lagos tax payers are still paying for a website extolling/peddling Mr Fashola's messianic status.
Life time of the website means forever even after Fashola's departure from the surface of the earth.

The contents are the former governor's official engagements on behalf of the people of Lagos state so what's the meaning of messianic status?

Makes zero sense..

Finally, what do you say about an elected official using public funds to pay for a website that appears to be aimed solely at advancing Mr Fashola's own political standing. Are you comfortable with this.
The governor has his own personal website that he pays out of his pocket to build and maintain.

Besides, what's this got to do with your argument about what's too much or not too much for a website.

Your concern is for state legislatures to decide because they decide what gets budget for or not.

There really is no point asking PMB to fight corruption, but when it comes to an APC politician, we want to sweep everything under the carpet.

This can only damage the public's perception of the anti - corruption fight.
You are entitled to your personal opinion even though you still can not draw any kind of conclusion about corruption in this case till all the facts are out there for us all to see.

Awarding contract for 78 million can not be termed corruption until we see exactly the content, what was ordered against what was finally delivered. Where is the essence of the so-called "One-Nigeria"? There must be massive infrastructural projects initiated in Bori , Opobo or Yenagoa in order to transform the cities to the standards seen in Lagos/Ikeja and Abuja. If the transformation is hard to initiate by government at the center, it is natural to allow the communities to manage the resources within their neighborhoods. One goon in Nigeria had suggested that the Daura Dumbass has every right to appoint ministers from his village. By the same token, communities in Nigeria have all the rights to take control of the resources from their communities. It is unfair that Lagos State is solely benefiting from the infrastructural projects erected by the federal government of Nigeria from the resources very alien to Lagos.
Exactly what FG infrastructures is this joker talking about?

Reports say the United States Embassy in Abuja was flooded with American investors who wanted to make enquiries about Nigeria’s automotive industry.

Pulse.ng reports that this is as a result of president Muhammadu Buhari’s recent visit to the USA, as the investors were apparently impressed with the Nigerian leader’s presence and quality of his delivery.

The report further revealed that the embassy’s Counselor for Economic Affairs, Mr Alan Tousignant, during his visit of Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) on Friday in Abuja, explained the reason for the investors’ visit.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria and his American counterpart, Barrack Obama, seem to have found a synergy
Share on Facebook

Mr Bello Rasheed, the Principal Executive Officer (Information) of NADDC, explained that Tousignant visited to make enquiries on the Nigerian Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP), expecting to get answers for the deluge of inquiries from the American government and its business community on the NAIDP.

“Tousignant said that there had been an upsurge in the amount of business inquiries from America since the recent visit of President Buhari to the U.S.

“He told the NADDC DG that quite a number of the latest inquiries from potential American investors were on the Nigeria auto industry.

“Therefore, he needed to know about applicable staff structure, incentives, availability of skilled personnel, current total installed capacity, local value addition and industrial clusters and infrastructure.

“He also asked questions on applicable safety standards, annual national vehicle demand, export potential to other countries, among others,” a statement by Rasheed hinted.

The NADDC DG, Mr Aminu Jalal, was also excited by the “keen interest shown by American companies and businessmen in the industry” and he told his visitors that two American automobile giants, Ford Motors and General Motors, had confirmed their interest in starting vehicle assembly operations in 2016.
“The NADDC DG explained that Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa with very huge market for automobiles. He stressed that the auto policy is intended to transform Nigeria into a major vehicle manufacturing hub for leveraging on Nigeria’s abundant trainable labour force and material resources especially petrochemical-based.

“Jalal told Tousignant and members of his team that with a population of over 170 million, Nigeria could not continue to run an import dependent economy,’’ the statement said.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had blasted president Buhari over his visit of the US, stating that he embarrassed the country while in the White House.
