overlord77: Yea, I agree with you on that. However, it should be noted that his response was an absolute hogwash.
There is no way you can build, maintain and upgrade a website, then build mobile versions of same site, mobile app be it for androids of iPad and it would amount to 78m. It's totally not possible, even if it's an OS the contractors built for him. Not all of us are that daft, I do professional programming both at work and as a sub contractor. Whoever gave him this broken down response should have come up with something better. The issue goes beyond N78 million hence the former governor highlighting the selective peddling of info. Where is the sense and wisdom in basing your judgement on mare numbers and not the terms and scope of work? Have you ever built multiple websites, load and itemized thousands of pictures, videos, and speeches on the same websites on different media platforms before and if you have, exactly how much were you paid? Lastly, have you factored into your judgement the fact that this same contract calls for lifetime maintenance too? Why not just tell us exactly how much you charge to maintain multiple websites for the rest of your life? Do you have a figure for us? Of course you don't. Common sense dictates that you have contract documents stating exactly what was bought and paid for before formulating any kind of judgement or limiting anything to what you do. |

[s] utumunta: Are you tha frustrated and...hopeless?
Upgrade, download, upload, iOS, POS, whatever! We have always maintained that Fashola, like his brother Governors in the other 35 states of Nigeria have looted Lagos state dry. This particular contract is nothing to be compared to others not mentioned. Why this one? His master(the Pig) is only bringing this one to our notice because this is one of the few contracts that he cannot be linked to in Lagos state.
Fashola, I shall only advise you to tell your adversories(the pig) that you know of 'unknown addresses and you can hear the dead'. Mr Fash, churn documents at them! This response is watery and has the effect of water on the back of a duck. To me, you are begging. Asking to be left alone. You asked those throwing the mud to look in the Mirror and their hands. They won't cos they don't think you have evidence of how dirty they'd look in the mirror and how their hands had been soiled.
Mr Fash, tell us about Alpha-Beta and its many scams that have succeeded in digging bottomless pits in the pocket of Lagos state. Until you return fire for fire and show you can bark and bite; you'll never earn your respect and place as a former Governor of Lagos state. Deep within you, you knew and confessed to close pals that JK is the man for Lagos state but you could not move a muscle because while you ate up the corn field of Lagos state at night with your compatriots(pigs) they were busy keeping the cobs and counting them against you.
By 2019, what would be left of the APC would be fragments of a marriage of strange and greedy bed-fellows. This is just a fight to stop whatever appointment that would come Fashola's way. APC ronu! [/s] utumunta: I supported President Jonathan in the last elections. Much as we criticised Buhari, we thought he could move this country forward a little bit by continuing and improving on the legacies of President GEJ. STFU you shameless crooked and mentally corrupt GEJ TaNoid.. Fashola say bring your evidence, but you are here barking useless irrelevant rubbish like village bingo... Exactly what Jona's legacies should we be improving on? The corrupt, looting, stealing and institutionalized incompetent legacy? When was the last time you opened your mouth to say anything about GEJ and the most corrupt crooked, corrupt and incompetent administration on the surface of the earth? Hypocrite losers... |

Its even more shameless most people here just read with reasoning, he says u level allegations on him fine, he ask u to provide proves/evidences of his mismanagement/misappropriation/stealing of public funds, why don't u just provide that then we take it from there Fact is, they are not interested in any acts of corruption, they simply don't care, all they are interested in is rumor peddling, mud slinging, smear campaign and character assassination. How hard is it to show proof of wrong doing if you really care about corruption and sending corrupt people to jail. ? |

[s] Benstus: You can see how you have been fooling yourself attacking everyone that has any view that is contrary to yours. I repeat you have a problem. You keep shouting court, of all the people you have accused of corruption, how many have you taken to court? The politicians that have been taken to court, how many have been convicted? Is it not the same Nigeria that James Ibori was acquitted, yet was found wanting of the same crime in UK? Keep suffering and defending criminals. I don't need to take anybody to court, I just want people like you to understand that some of your political heroes are criminals and will remain criminals. Have you asked yourself if your life could be better and how best you can improve it rather than wasting your time responding to all the post that are contrary to your views. Use your brain and be relevant to yourself, family and society. [/s] I'm not interested your irrelevant essay. I asked you to analyse like you did with facts and figures by stating how much it cost to upload thousands of photos, videos and speeches on multiple websites and also maintain the same websites for life. Just tell us how much it cost to do that including how much you charge for manpower to do the same job for the rest of your life... You jumped up to come up with how much it cost to do A and B, so do the same thing by telling us how much it cost to do what I listed above for life. Put your money where your mouth is or keep quiet.. |

That did not come from any politician, the company involved said that's what they were paid to do. See how much you know about what you are arguing about. Instead of ranting on the internet with bogus info, you should be asking the accusers to release the full terms of the contract to educate you just like the former governor said. |

ExInferis: It's a shame you think so. He admits that 12m was paid for the website upgrade. The balance 66m was spent on mobile apps and one-year site maintenance.
Let's examine it.
For iOS, the developer program for publishing your app on the appstore costs $99 per annum, android ranges from free to $99, microsoft from $25 to $99, and Blackberry costs you nothing to publish on blackberry world.
So let's take the average as $99 onetime fee. Minus that 3 times from the 66m.
Remember, all the developer tools are free (except Xamarin, but why use it). It costs you absolutely nothing to get the SDKs (Xcode, Android Studio, Visual Studio etc) and very little to publish your app.
So where is the 66m?
If you believe it costs 66m to develop a mobile app that basically is just a frontend for the website, then you need to have your head examined.
This deal is raw. You are wrong, it's lifetime maintenance for multiple websites. This is why the former governor said the mischievous people peddling the allegation should have disclose the full terms of the contract. With your analysis with figures and comparisons, you should have analysed what it cost to upload and maintain thousands of photos, videos and speeches for life and how much you charge for manpower. |

Benstus: The company that the contract was awarded to has denied receiving N78m stating that they were awarded the contract for N10m and the contract sum included all the things Mr Fashola stated above (i.e. mobile app etc). Can Fashola please tell us if the same contract was awarded to another company too or where N68m vanished to. I hate politicians attributing everything to distractors and haters without addressing the issue at hand and you will find stupid people saying "this politician is my role model", "I love Fashola". Keep loving and suffering while your destiny is being destroyed by these stupid politicians. You are the one destroying your destiny by whining on the internet instead of demanding that the accusers to take their case to any court of law for redress against the former governor. If you really care, this is what you should be demanding instead of making noise on the internet like the former governor said. |

tolusan: Even if the facts as presented by the learned Silk (BRF) are taken as correct, there seems to be no way to justify 78 sacred million of our hard earned money on a website! whether built from scratch, upgraded or re-branded. It is not just reasonable, no it is not.
We need to review the process leading to the award of the contract, for instance, was tender for 78 million the most feasible of all tenders submitted having regards to the parameter set by the States' Procurement Law?
Again why have the website in the name of the governor? What happened to his office, what happened to www.governoroflagos.com ?
How did the Procurement department refuse to object to an obviously unreasonable estimate for maintaining /upgrading a website?
In all I think BRF just told us that he played by the rules even if he used it for absurd purposes. Classic lawyer! Don't break the rules just bend it!
Much like the difference between Legal Positivism and Natural Law in Jurisprudence.
If you get the last paragraph, hit like How exactly did you arrived at what's reasonable and unreasonable.? Please explain to us step by step how and what they charge to upload and maintain thousands of photos, videos and speeches on multiple websites and media platforms for life is a bargain to me. Please give us a break down... N78 million to upload and maintain thousands of photos, videos and speeches on multiple websites and media platforms for life is a bargain to me. |

https://ekitistate.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/edit-ROADS-COMMISSIONING-2.jpgFayemi Inaugurates 3 Roads, Delivers Medical EquipmentActivities marking the third anniversary of the Dr Kayode Fayemi administration in Ekiti State continued on Monday as the Governor commissioned three roads, five ambulances as well as some medical equipment and flagged off the reconstruction of three other roads in Ikole Local Government.
The three commissioned roads include 9km Irele-Ponyan, 23km Ikole-Ijesa Isu and 24km Igede -Awo-Ido roads which are parts of the 100 km of roads billed to be opened and made accessible to motorists while Ikole-Ara-Isinbode road, Awo-Eyio-Ifaki road and Ikole township roads were flagged off for reconstruction.
Commissioning the road projects, Dr Fayemi reiterated the resolve of his administration to make all parts of the state accessible by motorable roads and stated that government has continued to pursue the target in spite of daunting financial challenges.
He assured that his administration will not relent in its effort to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people in fulfilment of the social contract with the people.
The Governor explained that Ikole-Ara-Isinbode road had been on since 2008 but was abandoned by the contractor, while the present administration has decided to re-activate it so that the money expended on it would not be a waste and to alleviate the sufferings of commuters who ply the road.
Speaking on Irele-Ponyan road which is one of the projects inherited from the previous administration, the Governor said the road was “virtually abandoned due to poor funding and the contractor could not continue with the project because of unsettled interim certificates” before his administration came n board in 2010.
He added that the scarce resources of the State did not deter it from pursuing the construction of the border road as the administration decided to fund the project adequately in view of the strategic importance of the road which links Kogi State.
The Governor expressed optimism that the newly constructed virgin road would help business transaction with Kogi people to thrive.
Earlier, the Governor had commissioned 5 ambulances and some medical equipment for the use of Ijero, Ikole and Ekiti East local governments under the MDGs-CGS scheme.
The 3 local governments which are getting N200 million each as intervention fund aimed at fast-tracking the achievement of the MDGs through the implementation of health, education and general well being of the people, are pioneers of the scheme.
The Governor restated his commitment to banishing poverty from the state and intensifying efforts on programmes and projects that would improve the welfare of the grassroots.
He urged the People to imbibe the culture of maintenance of government property , saying that this is the only way the equipment could serve the benefitting communities for a long period of time. https://ekitistate.gov.ng/2013/10/fayemi-inaugurates-3-roads-delivers-medical-equipment/ |
