I remember a friend saying something about how they were also victims at the hands of Northern Muslims during the Jos numerous crisis. To the extent they had to seek refuge with their fellow Southerners who happened to be Christians.

Also, in the North, Yoruba Muslims worship at a different mosque away from their northern counterparts.

They're mostly the Imams and Muazzim of the school's mosques.

Yoruba do have their mosques in some Northern states because of the type of Juma'at sermon delivered by their Imams, they mostly give their sermon in English due to non Hausa speaking Muslims and nothing more.

Buhari contested for 3 consecutive elections and failed. He failed not because there was no way to make him President but because average voters were content with PDP's rule. OBJ got more votes in the North than in the entire South, infact Northern votes made him President. Yaradua and GEJ defeated PMB with all the requisite votes' percentage required to make them winners.

However, prior to 2015 election the Boko Haram insurgency overwhelmed the North with bomb attacks in markets, mosques, Universities and tertiary institutions. The attacks were too much to the extent that Abuja wasn't at all safe; Police HQs, UN building, Motor parks, public and private places were on several occasions attacked and Govt couldn't do anything to stop the attacks.

Northerners including many PDP members entered alliance with Western Politicians in their quest to find someone who can save the North from those attacks because in all honesty GEJ couldn't do anything more. PMB became President and since his inception he has done very well in containing the threat of Boko Haram insurgency.

Shortly after banditry emanated and is another mayhem affecting people's daily activities. Though, there is no justification in killings but people are safer in the entire North with banditry than the BH insurgency during the previous administration.

The choice between PMB and GEJ should never be the cause of this absurdity, and these wailing has shown the level of civilization in some people's character!

Some of you have lost your brains to politics.
Borno State is so heavily-dependent on humanitarian resources and labour that if INGOs pull out today, the whole state would collapse. Even with the presence of medical INGOs offering free healthcare for instance, health indices in the state are still terribly low and many children die of malnutrition and other very preventable causes. Now imagine they all leave with their Nigerian and international staff, is it the less than 20 active hospitals in the state that will take care of them? Even if they have the capacity (which they can't have in the next 10 years), how will the people afford it?

The problem with the resettlements is that there's no sustainable livelihood, no economic activities, little government presence, no ease of movement and of course little assurance of security. Of course, they'll fail to take and the people will want to return to the IDP camps, mostly in Maiduguri city.

However, this is a governor who is more concerned about optics and his appearance in the media rather than tackling the real issues with the huge funding he's getting. He enjoys so much goodwill from his people and it's just sad that his achievements haven't matched that.

You need to stop listening to people who make analysis from far with little or nor knowledge of the people and the place u are talking abt.

Zulum take the right decision, I listen to these people for almost 2ys, they have been begging Govt to resettle them back to their communities. Despite being ravaged by terrorism, Borno people are extremely hardworking, there are a lot of opportunities in Borno state especially in farming and fishing.
