[sub][/sub] nairavsdollars:Muslims pray five times a day every day, but the most important prayer of the week is “jumah,” or the day of gathering, on Friday. The Qur'an invokes the importance of Friday as a sacred day of worship in a chapter called “Al-Jumah,” meaning the day of congregation, which is also the word for Friday in Arabic. It states, “O you who believe! When you are called to congregational (Friday) prayer, hasten to the remembrance of God and leave off trade. |
ginggerxy:This assertion is needless and strongly biased. If u want to know how our leaders have failed, don't always look at the federal Government only, look at your state Governors first before shifting your blame to FG that has less impact on your daily affairs than the other; today 90% of Governors that failed to pay ordinary minimum wage are from the south. Should other regions govern as long as Northerners, they might have ended up as failures similarly as they failed at state level! |
bluebay:People who are born under failure and consistently seeing failure since their birth can never understand how woefully OBJ and others have failed ![]() |
ugabamuzu:U.S has more than $26.trillion debt and the Chinese do own a lot of U.S. debt—about $1.1 trillion as of early 2020. Japan and China own about 5.2% and 4.6% of the U.S. debt, respectively. Japanese-owned debt doesn't receive nearly as much negative attention as Chinese-owned debt, ostensibly because Japan is seen as a friendlier nation and the Japanese economy hasn't been growing at a 7% clip year after year. The other countries that hold the most U.S. debt include the U.K., Brazil, and Ireland. So, forget all that debt issues and invest, when it's time to enjoy the debt, enjoy it. Let me help u with the site that can help u see more of U.S heavy debt profile: https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/080615/china-owns-us-debt-how-much.asp Do u mean U.S is also sold to China? |
I wonder why they wear that stupid unnatural wig ![]() |
The mischievous history of how the library was built by public funds for the personal gain of OBJ is saddening. Nigerians have been suffering by bad leaders for long. OBJ is equally a fraud and failure like his predecessors! |
See how wailers are wailing... Tinubu all the way...I think Tinubu may be sole candidate of APC come next year's APC primary election except for formalities reason. BAT all the way! |
Stevenson20: Ammishaddai: iKingsley: mrvitalis: Tochi3: Felabrity:Reasonable person will definitely ask what actually you are looking for, why all these wailing after long awaited declaration u asked for? Proscription of terrorists group need to follow some processes and legal backing, isn't Something Govt can just do overnight. Recently there were too much noise about the need to proscribe bandits by mainly ethno-religious jingoist groups not knowing that unlike other terrorists group who need international recognition, bandits don't have leaders nor interested in any recognition, they only carry out their ugly business to get money. Proscribing bandits and declaring them terrorists is just like declaring arm robbers as terrorists; they're not advocating for anything good but perpetrating evil in their quest to get money. We think and reason from far just like our leaders, declaring bandits terrorists won't change anything! The way forward is just for our security forces to do the needful by protecting their oaths. |
kokoA:I don't know why u see religion as regional identity? This is myopic, uncivilised thinking! There is no part of Northern Nigeria that we don't have Christians, seeing Christianity as regional identity is absurdity to the highest order. Benue is very vast, t is bounded on the south by Cross River, Ebonyi, and Enugu states, on the west by Kogi state, on the North by Nassawara state, and on the northeast by Taraba state. Only primitive, unexposed, ethno-religious jingoist can use religion as regional identity in Nigeria. |
Despite the hatred they showed to this guy, very soon he will be the hero of some fools ![]() |
Ammishaddai:Isn't everything that u need to criticise just because u don't like it. The report said the deceased were taken to Hospital and it is left for the hospital to reveal the cause of their death. Follow the incident untill the report is out because if they revealed the cause u would have said they stated the cause without Medical examination! |
Fahdiga: Mynd44: AlhajiNatty:This is needless and a sign of what u are ordained from birth. When IPOB was killing their fellow Igbos, FG rescue them from the disaster of terrorism. When Kanuri created Boko Haram, Govt lost trillions of Naira and soldiers to restore peace in the area. Unknown to many of u, many victims of banditry are also Fulani who are no longer in the bush or living a different life and has the bloodline of Fulbe. Stereotyping or ethnic profiling of criminals is very dangerous and wrong. Better buy sense because ur Nairaland ranting won't change anything. |
These people are very stupid, incompetent and always lying to President for knowing that he is inept and completely trust them.
|
I said it many times here on Nairaland, how some groups of people travel or being trafficked to war ravaged Mali, Libya, Burkina Faso from Nigeria to sell sex. This is the same in Italy, France and Spain, they're selling sex in a condition not worthy for goats! |
Further revelations on the failed third term bid of former President Olusegun Obasanjo have been revealed. Former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, has disclosed how he and Abdulsalami Abubakar, former Head of State of Nigeria, worked against the ill-fated ambition. Obasanjo has repeatedly denied he was involved in the bill proposed to the Nigerian parliament to amend the constitution and grant him an extra term. Speaking virtually on Thursday at the Abdulsalami Alhaji Abubakar Festschrift Conference held in Abuja, Mbeki said he called the former Nigerian leader to discussed the issue with him. He said, “As a privilege to reiterate the commitment of General Abubakar to democracy in Nigeria in 2006, more than five years after he had handed over powers to Olusegun Obasanjo, the constitution on whose basis president Obasanjo was elected described a two-term limit for the head of state, and since he [Obasanjo] had been elected for the second time, this meant that he would end his term in 2007. “But some time before, in 2005, a campaign began in Nigeria to amend the constitution to allow for three presidential terms. This developed to a point that the draft of the proposed amendment had been presented to the Nigerian parliament as papers. “When I heard about this development, I engaged Obasanjo to communicate my unease at the proposal. In the end, I discussed it with general Abubakar, and we agreed that the proposed amendment was undesirable. We shared the view that the amendment must be avoided at all costs. We were of one mind that it spells bad both for Nigeria and the rest of the continent, tampering with and compromising our democratic system, which is just a few years old. “We agreed to add our voices to those kicking against the amendment. We agreed that Abdulsalam would follow the situation in Nigeria closely and indicate to me when we should intervene against the constitutional amendment. I was very pleased when he called that the Nigerian senate has voted against the amendment.” https://dailytrust.com/thabo-mbeki-how-i-worked-against-obasanjos-third-term |
mrvitalis:You are ignorant of Geographical location of the Southern Kaduna u are talking about. I don't understand if u mean Nigeria has to adopt a style of Israel being an EU member and Morocco being an ECOWAS member? |
Adrian98:You're most wlcm. All will be well when we are ready, and I hope we learn to be proactive! |
PlayMaker14:He committed financial offence and EFCC just want to try him not to jail him. Court decides the fate of criminals not EFCC, Dickson should go and clear his name. You are extremely primitive for thinking that APC is a Northern party. 8 of 17 Southern states (APC: 47.06%, PDP: 47.06% while APGA has 5.88%) and u are thinking the way most of u do. Wake up and face reality, some permutations have to be done for one to be a Nigerian President and this necessarily involved extending hand of friendship to others. The wise ones among u will use their brain while the primitive and daft will dwell on religious fanaticism and ethnic jingoism and die wailing. Stop protecting criminals! |
Ttalk:North outrightly control livestock market. concerning fishing, Baga in Borno state are the major producers of domestic fish we consume in Nigeria. |
bergs2:I'm talking about uniformed personnel that Govt has authority over. |
Should this farytale be true Atiku or any other PDP candidate will get an easy ride to Aso Rock with the widest margin that Democracy has never witnessed on earth! |

Shaolin77:''In 2020, Nigeria's GDP amounted to N152.320Trillion, over $500billion., About 24 percent of Gross Domestic Product was generated by the agricultural sector. The largest contribution was given by crop productions, which generated 21.8 percent of the country's GDP in 2020. Agriculture contributes to a significant part of the country's GDP. It is a key activity for Nigeria's economy after oil. Nevertheless, agricultural activities provide livelihood for many Nigerians, whereas the wealth generated by oil reaches a restricted share of people.'' Also, ''the agricultural sector remains the largest employer in Nigeria, employing more than 36% of the labour force''. Looking into the GDP of different sectors and commodities in Nigeria and assess who control the major stake of Nigeria's economy: Accommodation, food, transportation and real estate: 12.2%, Education, health, science and technology: 6.3%, Farming, forestry and fishing : 30.5%, Manufacturing, mining and quarrying: 11.3% Retail, maintenance, repair, and operations: 24.9% Managerial, finance and insurance: 4.2% Telecommunication, arts and entertainment: 1.8%, Other services: 8.8%. Going by the given statistics above it can be seen that Education, health, science and technology, Entertainment, manufacturing, Telecommunication, Arts and Entertainment that you claimed to have control are not up to 30.5% of GDP contributed by farming and fishing mainly control and done by Northerners while all other businesses your people do, Northerners and other parts of Nigeria are either into them en masse or are the main actors. Ponder well and look for authentic figure not Aba made statistics! |
bergs2:No master will instruct them to kill their fellow brothers. This has shown the level of moral training, greed, apathetic and the nature of the people they're. This is the reason Endsars flopped in the North because it is impossible for such nonsense to be allowed to happen and our people may collect bribe, make some misconduct but won't bring themselves this low to killing their brothers for money! |
KingEverest:In most EU Nations jail terms means paying fine. Their laws in most cases except criminal cases like homicide, drug or rape cases are so often exchanged with money! |
triple996:The hypocrisy of criticising Muslims is just an excuse to attack Islam. Imagine if it were a Muslim who marry her at 18yrs? |
Adrian98:I mean our Govts (present & past) can't do anything rational due to poor laws & neglect of citizens, the only thing we are good in is using force to make citizens accept Govt's decisions. Thanks, hope all will be well! |
Adrian98:Govts at all level in Nigeria are not performing their rightful duties. The grazing routes are made by colonial masters, therefore our Legislators have the responsibility to make mutually beneficial laws especially in areas where there are conflicts. Herders are Nigerians, and states with significant number of herders should have made laws to regulate their business, the laws must meet the contemporary standards of cattles breeding that will make the business modern and highly profitable. The neglect is too much not only on this single case but in all the daily living of Nigerians. Our leaders are so lazy that they can't even make laws that can meet the culture, tradition and complexity of Nigerians but went to some extent to borrow most of their Govt style and policies from whites. How do u expect such people to tackle your problems except by force? The solution to the problem is for both state and Federal Legislators to make laws which are unequivocally not bias, fair, beneficial to all and free from ethno-religious hitches. Govt should use both kinetic and non-kinetic approach to deal with the rising issues of banditry and kidnapping which are mostly in the circle of Fulani. Nigerians should eschew stereotyping and ethnic profiling of Fulani because of their political differences with PMB because the Fulani causing these havoc are very few comapred to Fulani population. Both innocent and bad herders living in the bush can't account for 2% of Fulani population in Nigeria. |
Adrian98:FARMERS-HERDERS CLASH For many years there has always been a conflict between farmers and herders. The main cause of the problem are these; some traditional rulers sell large portion of grazing lands (RUGA) to farmers which consequently lead to conflicts because the supposed land to have their cows graze is sold and turned farm will block their route and herders will graze their cows in it, some herders believe grazing on people's land can bring prosperity on their cows (superstition). BANDITRY Fulani were allegedly used as a tool to get easy money by a combined team of traditional rulers, Police, Judges and some business men. When herder commit offence the police and court charge him too much money, he has to sell cows and pay. Vigilant group set up to tackle banditry later became used to extra judicially kill the Fulani bandits in an attempt to stop the bribery and corruption in the supposed to be justice system. However, this killing made the Fulani bandits to slowly become what they are today. The police sometimes will take all the cows to police station and sell them if they commit a big crime. Their fellow Fulani bandits started stealing their cows (hundred of cows) untill they rendered them cowless to the extent that if you don't have one of your child among the bandits they'll steal all cows from your family. The rich local business men enjoy stolen cows at cheaper prices. If the bandits are caught they get a soft landing from judges in connivance with Police and release them (justice was a subject of cash exchange at the highest bids in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina). Before we know, a syndicate of bandits were organised which is a product of banditry, neglect and injustice. After losing their cows to banditry and injustice they join the syndicate of banditry to survive because herders only know how to herd cows and nothing more. Note: for a herder, it is better to lose a relative to death than to lose a cow, cow is the most precious thing for them, more important than God to the most illiterates among them. EXTENSION OF CONFLICT TO SOUTHERN NIGERIA AND NORTH-CENTRAL STATES In a typical transhuman practice, Fulani cattle breeders usually drive their herds from their original home lands in the arid Sahel region of Northern Nigeria during the dry season into guinea savannah and the rainforests of central and southern Nigeria in search of greener pasture. Once the raining season sets in, nomadic herdsmen will commence a homeward journey from the south through the central to the northernmost part of the country. And year after year, the seasonal cycle of movement of cattle from north to south and back to the north has become the defining feature of the Fulani cultural occupation of nomadic pastoralism in Nigeria. However, this practice is not without its problems. In a country of indigenous tribesmen and not a nation of citizens such as Nigeria, where access to land is mostly by privilege of birth and not always an economic right, the indigenous peoples of central and southern Nigeria are predominantly farmers, who require their lands for crop cultivation. The cultural occupation of farming of these indigenous communities usually gets disrupted by the transhumance of the Fulani herdsmen, whose cows often stray into farmlands and eat up crops, even before they are harvested. With a weak policing system and slow dispensation of justice by constituted authorities, aggrieved parties often take the laws in their hands, thereby ensuing in farmers/herders clashes. At the core of this ethnic nationalism is the carefully contrived mindset that there is such a thing as a legally gazetted grazing reserves and routes for herdsmen, which has now been encroached upon by sedentary communities along the lines of the traditional routes, running from the north to the south. Convinced about the existence of these gazetted routes and reserves across Nigeria, many Fulani herdsmen have now come to believe themselves to be the victims and farmers the offenders in the encroachment upon their traditional grazing routes. Motivated by this belief, the Fulani herdsman now considers the invasion of farmlands with their cows and destruction of crops as only a legitimate process for the recovery of their grazing routes. And when farming communities put up resistance to what they consider as trespass, an armada of Fulani militia men were mobilised into Nigeria from the neighbouring countries of the Sahel to launch a “cow war” in Nigeria |
Adrian98:It is obvious that Sheikh Gumi is a Medical Doctor and former Army Captain and later retired and became Islamic scholar. Islam is a very vast and complex religion, it is very difficult for Non-Muslims and Muslims with little knowledge of Islam and Islamic history to understand Gumi and his actions. Gumi belongs to the Mutazilite school of thought, one of Islamic philosophy. Just like how we have people with Shi'a or Sunni philosophy but he is Sunni with Mutazilite principles. Muʿtazilites believe that good and evil are not always determined by revealed scripture or interpretation of scripture, but they are rational categories that could be "established through unaided reason"; because knowledge is derived from reason; reason, alongside scripture, was the "final arbiter" in distinguishing right and wrong. The school worked to resolve the theological "problem of evil": how to reconcile the justice of an all-powerful God with the reality of evil in the world talkless of human Govt like Nigerian Govt. The test of life is specifically for adults in full possession of their mental faculties. Children may suffer, and are observed to suffer, given the nature of life but they are believed to be completely free from sin and liability. Divine justice is affirmed through the theory of compensation. All sufferers will be compensated. This includes Non-believers and, more importantly, children, who are destined to go to Paradise without any after life trial. No specific Islamic Nation that have this philosophy as very few scholars are today left with this ideology especially Euro-American Islamic scholars. Going by the Islamic Philosophy of Mutazilites which is the ideology of Sheikh Gumi and the only Islamic scholar in Nigeria with this ideology, it can be seen that there is nothing to be surprised from Gumi's actions except from Non-Muslims who are not familiar with this Islamic school of thought. They are extremely moderate and believe all sins can be forgiven, no matter the gravity of the sin. Sheikh Gumi is one of the scholars that are not liked by most Nigerian Muslims due to his controversial views on Islamic principles which are in most cases contrary to the Teachings of Hadith. |
