PoliticsGovernor Ganduje Lifts Coronavirus Lockdown In Kano State by argob44(op): 11:17am On Jul 03, 2020
The Kano State Government has lifted a three-month lockdown imposed to contain a coronavirus outbreak linked to hundreds of deaths in the state.

State governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje announced the lifting of the curfew in a broadcast, insisting the key trading hub had seen a sharp drop in infections.

"We can beat our chest and say we are winning the case and there is no longer any need for the lockdown," Ganduje said late Thursday.

"There will be free movement for all."

Kano was put under lockdown in April after medics and cemetery workers reported a spike in "unexplained" deaths.

A team of health experts from the central government found that up to 600 fatalities may have been linked to the virus, but local officials put the figure at under half that number.

The research was based on interviews with relatives of the deceased and medics but the figures were never added to the official tally as no tests were conducted.

The lockdown in Kano was later eased to only three days in a week after a drop in deaths and infection.

Ganduje in his broadcast ordered senior government employees to resume work and said the state would enforce the mandatory wearing of face masks.

Social distancing and hygiene measures have remained largely lax in the city despite the authorities setting up a dozen mobile courts to ensure compliance.

Kano's relaxation of restrictions comes as the central government has rolled back virus measures around the country despite mounting infections.

Africa's largest nation has reported 27,110 officially confirmed cases and 616 deaths, but has been struggling to provide adequate testing capacity.

PoliticsThe Controversy In Nimi Akinkugbe's Appointment Is Needless - Dumeezor Sampson by argob44(op): 8:59am On Jul 03, 2020
THE CONCEPT OF TRUE FEDERALISM: The controversy in Nimi Akinkugbe's Appointment is Needless.

I have read reactions trailing the enlistment of Mrs. Nimi Akinkugbe, specifically on Punchng.com, as non-career Ambassadorial Nominee for Ondo State.

These reactions are tagged to: Mr. Ademario Emmanuel who doubles as 'Chairman Ondo Youth Coalition & National President of Youth Advancement Initiative', and 'The President Yoruba Afenifere Youth Organisation of Nigeria', Eric Oluwole, wherein they surmised precipitously that the nominee for Ondo is not from Ondo State, thus the appointment will not stand.

These pair of Ondo sons further alluded that Ondo State has prominent sons and daughters that could take up the appointment and serve Nigeria credibly instead of Mrs. Nimi Akinkugbe. Whilst Ademario Emmanuel was quoted to have asserted that Ondo State is being shortchanged, Eric Oluwole equally vents that "an indigene of Rivers State cannot represent the people of Ondo State", then he gives an ultimatum of 48hours for a reversal of the nomination.

Ordinarily, any reading audience would shore up the claims and advocacy of Mr. Emmanuel and Oluwole collectively & respectively, but not when armed with superior knowledge about the personality of Mrs. Nimi Akinkugbe. Yes, Opunimi Akinkugbe is a Rivers State-born daughter of Late F. I. Ajumogobia (Former Chief of Missions at UNESCO) who met his expire in the ADC flight 086 crash, en route Lagos from Port Harcourt on the 7th November 1996. She lived in Lagos State (the political power city of the West).

The bane of the argument and request for the withdrawal by the said Chairman Ondo State Youth Coalition/Youth Advancement Initiative, and President of Yoruba Afenifere Youth Organisation, which I vehemently disagree with, is that 'she is not an indigene of Ondo State'. I totally disagree with them, as that is a pellucid fallacy. Interestingly, Mrs. Nimi Akinkugbe has spent a greater part of her life in the south-west of Nigeria than Rivers State, and she is married to an Ondo State indigene "Mr. Yinka Akinkugbe", for which their marriage is blessed with 3 children.

Permit me to also put on record that the house of representatives had passed a bill enabling married Nigerian women to choose their State of Origin. The 'bill for an Act to amend for Federal Character Commission (Establishment, etc) Act 2010, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria Cap. F7', provides that: "A married woman shall have the option to lay claim to her State or Local Government of origin for the purpose of implementation of the Federal Character formulae at the National Level, or State as the case may be." This gives women the option of choosing the indigeneship of either their father or Husband. Prior to this, married women were considered strictly as indigenes of their husband's State.

Suffice also enthuse that the concept of "indigeneity" is perpetuated in the 1999 constitution. These system categories all Nigerians as either indigenes or Non-indigenes (also labelled 'settlers'). The mechanism was to ensure ethnic parity in employment, education, and appointments such as the circumstance under review.

The Federal character principle is an institutional innovation that is implored to ensure that Government reflects the country's diversity and equitably distribute resources and Services to the respective federating units. Also, section 42 (1) and (2) of the 1999 constitution guarantees freedom from discrimination. Specifically, (2) reads: "No citizen of Nigeria shall be subjected to any disability or deprivation merely by reason of the circumstances of birth... " Therefore, it would not be wrong to posit that the duo of Emmanuel and Oluwole are either being dangerously naive or politically playing the script of an individual, or a group of disgruntled benefactors.

Worthy of note, Senator Patrick Akinyelure of Ondo State in the same report by Punchng.com, affirms that nothing was wrong with the appointment of Mrs. Akinkugbe as long as the Governor supports it. He further cited that: "Mrs. Akinkugbe is duly married to an Ondo State son and had given birth to Ondo Children" and so, legally she can claim her husband's State.

Distinctly, it is expedient we imbibe and transcend from the primordial predilection of extreme ethnic chauvinism to a more globally viable approach to governance and its associative task, by putting efficiency and qualifications topmost before tribe. This is the Modus Vivendi that is aiding rapid economic and infrastructural growth in saner climes. Ethnic bigotry is a devious scheme and a primitive clannishness plaguing our society today. If we are resolute to meet the pace & dynamics of modernism in the developed societies, then we must have a break-up with our past and search for newer forms of driving Governance.

For this reason, I continually applaud the political ideology of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who places a premium on discovering and bringing on board, persons endowed with esteemed intellectuality & proven competence in business administration and Governance, than the local precedence of putting ethnicity first. Unarguably, his transformational blueprint and legendary vision in Lagos State resonates.

To say the least, Mrs. Nimi Akinkugbe is eminently qualified and geographically compliant to earn the ambassadorial nomination for Ondo State. Mrs. Akinkugbe is a renowned columnist, with 23years of experience in the banking sector, having worked at Stanbic IBTC, Barclays Bank and Standard Chartered Bank where she is currently a non-Executive Director. She is the founder and CEO of Bestman Games Ltd. In December 2012, her company launched the City of Lagos edition of Monopoly Games, making Lagos State the first city in Africa to have its own edition of the Habros' World-famous board game. She attended the London school of economics and political Sciences, and IESE Business school where she bagged an MBA.

Evidently, the claims by Ademario Emmanuel (Chairman Ondo Youth Coalition & National President Advancement initiative), and Eric Oluwole (President Yoruba Afenifere Youth Organisation), which are exclusively hinged on autochthonous ideology, is characterised with variables equal to zero! It is watery, lacks merit, and simply a needless controversy. Such sponsored blackmail never earns the perpetrators any good.

I commend the Ondo State Government and Mr. President for the choice of such an asset like Mrs. Nimi Akinkugbe, to serve Nigeria in such an honourable and tasking responsibility. We trust in her high profile antecedence, to serve Nigerians satisfactorily, and spark a more formidable relationship between Nigeria and whichever country she would be designated.

But the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead
Came alive in my body and penetrated my cells
Saved my body from sickness and my soul from hell
Am married to Jesus
You can hear the wedding bell

Politics‘Alex Wele In Pain After Attempt To Blackmail Me Failed’ - Chief Tony Okocha by argob44(op): 7:17am On Jun 20, 2020
Chief Tony Okocha, a former Chief of Staff to ex-Rivers State governor now Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has said he is not hurried to make responses as claimed by Hon. Alex Wele.

Replying to Wele’s statement titled “JUST A PASSING REMARK ON TONY OKOCHA’S HURRIED RESPONSE“, Chief Tony revealed how Hon. Alex Wele attempt to blackmail him with falsehood.

Find Chief Tony Okocha’s response, below:

RICOCHETS OF THE TARRADIDDLES OF A DISCOMBOBULATED BROTHER

Alex, I don’t hurry to make responses like you quipped in your headline (I Shall Not Dignify You Further With My Response, Alex Wele Replies Tony Okocha), because I am everly alert and well equipped with facts and figures at my fingertips, so your reference to a hurried response is ‘ipso facto’ dead on arrival.

I don’t also find clemency in the manufacturing of barefaced lies that may warrant my going into the draft room for many days to be able to churn out a fitting response to issues that concern me.

I have elected not to further engage you with responses to your odorous diatribes borne out of frustration and complex. Especially as I vowed not to in respect for a plethora of counsels from knowledgeable and well-meaning Nigerians not to condescend low as that may dignify you.

I am only tempted to make public the private conversations that you initiated after my response to your second phase gibberish post, which was laced with lies and wicked wiles.

Why the puffing and huffing after several days again?.

You wanted to take advantage of my pensive mood occasioned by the loss of my elder sister which has been greeted with condolences from well-wishers and friends even when you mockingly joined, to attack me.

It didn’t cross your mind that I could be vigilant to your villainy and may muster the frame of mind to put up a succinct reply. As it is said in Ikwerre Aphorisms “When a lizard lives so long in a farm it becomes an alligator”.

I understand the pain you have been through when your attempt to blackmail me with falsehood, failed spectacularly.

But reading through your hogwash, I was curiously expecting an answer to the poser I put across to you.

In your ant rant all through the tripe that you posted, here again, you couldn’t tell your cheerleaders the meaning of your fond name “GBELEM”.

It is therefore still not lost on me to challenge you to oblige us the meaning or are you saying that no such nickname exists?

On the issue of 20million Naira for the burial of late Majesty S.N. Wali, I have mentioned the names of those that should know. (Prince Chima Wali) the first son to the deceased Eze (Chief Mourner), Hon Charles Okaye, then Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Regent committee for the burial headed by two prominent chiefs in Ekinigbo Clan.

I have equally forwarded your claim of knowledge of the funds released to me for the burial being known to an individual of Ekinigbo extraction with a security background to the person. I dare you to mention the person’s name just as I have done for ease of reference and recourse.

Their responses to any independent investigator will help the reading public to ascertain the propriety or otherwise of your wild allegation.

But alas, is it not preposterous for you to request any curious investigator to come to you privately for further information on the matter?

Couldn’t you be bold to avail your readers the name/names of those who whispered to you about the release of the funds to me?

Is it not true that facts are sacred?

Is it not trite that ‘he who asserts ought necessarily to prove?’

For those who know the workings of government, is it not clear that releases of funds are made via applications/memo?

Was I at any point the chief mourner?

Was I a member of the deceased family?

Please do you have a record of the memo I made in this regard? Was the office of the Chief Of Staff responsible for releases meant for the burial of traditional rulers in Rivers State?

Was the office of the commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs annexed or under the supervision of the office of the Chief Of Staff?

I thought you would have, to further buttress your spurious allegation exhibited the approval and release of funds for this purpose from Rivers State Government to me.

The documents ought to be public documents and can be displayed for all to see. Until you do that, you remain a blatant and idiotic liar.

I shall not engage in further rigmaroles by responding to other irrelevant spews of yours as a lie necessarily begets other lies in an attempt to validate the foundational lie.

Fortunately, though, a lie can never be true, no matter how it is slanted.

No more for you, my depraved brother. I refuse to promote your grandstanding.

Your mischievous intentions can be easily deduced from your ignominious twists.

Time is precious for me now more than ever before, especially as I remain neck-deep in seeking reconciliation and peace for our dear party APC in Rivers State and the humdrum associated with the burial of my departed elder sister.

My chat with you like I stated on this issue is no secret and I shall thus share as screenshots, especially in this era of wilful denials. So that your readers will know what stuff you’re made of.

Tony C Okocha ksc JP.

Politics‘Sylva, Oshiomole, Akpabio, Omo-agege Enemies Of Rotimi Ameachi’ - APC Chieftain by argob44(op): 12:47pm On May 31, 2020
A chieftain of the APC and one time former Caretaker Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State, Dr Godstime Orlukwu, has labeled Comr Adams Oshiomhole, Omo-Agege and Godswill Akpabio as enemies of Rotimi Ameachi.

Dr Godstime who is a think-tank in the Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi faction of Rivers State APC also lamented about Sen. Magnus Abe being assigned to the NNPC board membership, saying he doubts if that will give Abe billions.

Dr Godstime Orlukwu wrote:

“It is what it is. Politics. For me, the only additional gain for Magnus Abe here is the hype. Politics has a lot to do with hype. And he is currently savouring it.

“To be clear, this is a big one for him and a blow to our psyche. No doubt at all. And I want to believe Sylva planned it out well.

“However, Magnus Abe was dancing on the day Sylva was sworn in. Since then till now, how much billions has he made through Sylva. How many of Sylva’s boys are billionaires now? Is being a Board Member going to give Magnus and his group the billions they need to kill all of us? I doubt, he said.

“If anything, this should make all our own appointees sit up. There is going to be a lot of mind games and we do have good calibre appointees who should help give the rest of us confidence. No retreat, no surrender!

“To our Oga, I know he is strong enough to stomach this assault. He is a veteran of high-stake chess games on top, and I trust he is on top of his game. And calmly too, he added.

“He has won a lot fighting alone against an alliance of envious adversaries – Akpabio, Sylva, Ada ms and Omo Agege! He will get more.

“Finally, let us know that these guys are mean. All eyes must be on the ball. Buhari is still our man but vigilance is required going forward. Let’s understand too that he is the father of many children! We shall overcome!”

PoliticsRivers APC Crisis: Ex-chief Of Staff Tony Okocha Calls For Peace, Reconciliation by argob44(op):
Tony Okocha, a former Chief of Staff to ex-Rivers state governor and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Ameachi, has called on “peace and reconciliation” over an unending crisis rocking the APC in Rivers state.

Rivers State crisis has often been blamed on the rift between Sen. Magnus Abe and Rotimi Amaechi.

However, in an article titled “THE ROLE OF PEACE AND RECONCILIATION IN RIVERS STATE APC REBUILDING – PART 3”, Chief Tony Okocha “dealt with the frustrations that accompany a disunited house and the corresponding collosal losses foisted on members” and the way forward.

Find the article, below:

RE: THE ROLE OF PEACE AND RECONCILIATION IN RIVERS STATE APC REBUILDING – PART 3.

I listened to how I read the variants of jabs against my passionate appeals to fellow compatriots of the APC extraction on the need for decorum, peace and reconciliation in the Party in Rivers State.

Most of these supposed “arguments” came from equally fellow founding members of the party. Not minding the sojourn into character assassination, I read with open mind and immensely thank them.

I shall turn to this later.

On the second chapter on the aforestated subject, I dealt with the frustrations that accompany a disunited house and the corresponding colossal losses foisted on members.

WAY FORWARD.
I hold strongly that realisation of peace, tranquility and total reconciliation and winning back APC in RIVERS STATE, are not rocket sciences. There are plenty of low hanging fruits to pluck.

I restate that the imbroglio that has festered thus far and estopped our growth as a party, is not land disputation. It is not tribal or communal conflict between the protagonists and antagonists or put differently, the major dramatis personae.
It was largely of who takes WHAT, HOW, and WHY.

This is not allian in Politics and so not peculiar to APC, Rivers State. Ours is even more mature, clement and serene that we locate our problems within Leadership and obedience to orders. In some climes, intra-party squabbles degenerate into fisticuffs and other heinous acts of maiming and inflicting of body injuries and worst still, mindless assassinations.

Happily, in all these years of our disagreements, members across boards, have maintained crisp civility.

ROLE OF THE YOUTHS.

The Youth population taking to mean in this sphere, as between the ages of 18-45 years, constitute 60% conservatively, of the population/membership of the party and so, have ample roles to play, in the process of bringing about Peace and genuine reconciliation baring in mind too, that a greater chunk of the benefits derivable from Politics and Politicking, accrue to them. On the corollary, they are equally the most vulnerable in the event of a failed party situation.

“Ipso facto”, the Youths have the greatest responsibility to engineer and add vent to the processes leading to the goal in issue.

The youths are the Personal aides and chief emissaries to the Big Men who are the Principal actors one way or the other. It is their responsibility to respectfully and subtly admonish their bosses against certain decisions they intend to take that will ultimately decimate the party or fracture her unity.

In the extant cases, it is clear that the Youths are at the epicenter of the various litigations, howbeit, being egged- on by the “Big Men” (This is a mere prognosis. I am not too certain but your guess is as good as mine).

If the Youths are tools used for a hatchet job they are humbly advised to take a deep breadth and introspect into the likely damage their actions have caused the Party. If their actions stemmed from self volution, it is time to double-check.

In my Ikwerre land, there is a proverb that “When a Ram soils it’s abode with urine and faeces, the only available option is to stand all through, no more lying down”. This is where we are now.

The Youths should resist being used as emissaries of mischief.

The Youths must come away from eye-service roles. They must be bold and courageous enough to speak truth to Power without minding whose Ox is gored (though with utmost respect and serenity of mind).

Youths must refuse the temptation of being induced with “bribes” (which is temporary relief), to engage in actions or inactions that will hamper the realisation of a lifelong goal.

More than ever before, as Personal aides and ardent supporters to the BIGGER BOYS, the Youths must endeavour to keep sermonising to their Bosses on the need for Peace and Reconciliation of all interests in the party towards forging a robust cohesion and togetherness for a better achievement, namely:, Contestations and Winning Elections.

No more inciting commentaries, essays and or narratives on social media that may lead to hairsplitting arguments and invocation of Biles and general discontents.

Finally, the Youths knowing that their future is at stake, must helm together and withdraw support for any whose activities tend to destroy the party going forward.

WOMEN

I needn’t remind us the reason why, the Creator (by my Christian background), God, created the Woman from the Man’s Rib. By this account, the Woman ought to be perceived as the most beautiful of God’s creations.

Whilst the man was made of dust, the Woman was made from a part of Man ~Rib.

By their nature, they are helps to Men with the attribute of Care as their greatest strong point.

For our Female members therefore, my charge is that as either Friends, Wives, Mothers, Aunties, Sisters to the disputants, they have a responsibility to advise, cushion or scold their Husbands, Children, Friends, indeed, the male counterparts, to toe the part of Peace and Reconciliation in the Party.

We must concede that every virtuous Female in whatsoever garb, influences their Male counterparts howsoever. Their counsels are superb.

Therefore, I advise that they play the stabiliser role. They are usually less of a problem to any Political Party but their activism is second to none.

ELDERS.

It is for the reason of the importance of Elders in every human organisation, that most organisations even Political Parties create or designate an Elders Council.

Elders of the Party ought to be morale boosters in the positive, to the Youths, Women and Leaderships of the Party.

In the case in issue, our Elders owe it as a duty to speak up without fear or favour.
It is reason why Chinua Achebe and most writers highlight the proverb that “it is cruel kindness for an Elder to sit idly by and watch a She-Goat attempt to deliver in tetters”.

Both the Youths, Women, Leaders and the led, come under the supervision of Elders.

Elders of our Party must break away from allegiance to the feuding factions. They should come together and address the toney issues with a bid to finding solutions to the problems.

They should seek the leave of the Leader of the Party in the State, RT Hon CRA, to convene a meeting across all interests as quickly as possible.

This “Back Channel Approach”(credit to Senator Abe), is going to be the soothing balm to realising the long elusive Peace and Reconciliation.

The Elders, I maintain, should not be sided.

“The monkey should stop laughing at a felling tree in ignorance of the fact that it is her abode that is falling”.

We need the Elders now more than before.

They must forget the issue of patronage, weaved around sympathy and or who satisfies their pecuniary interests.

LEADERSHIP OF PARTY.

APC, RIVERS STATE has a central leader in the person of RT Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, CON, Minister Of Transportation, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Needless to drop his rich CV and his exploits in the Political sphere over time. What can be taken for granted is that he is not a green horn or a neophyte in the Political turf.

Permit me to say Sir with profound respect that you have the greatest role to play to bring about the desired Peace, Reconciliation and togetherness, in the Party.
It is trite to say that there can be no leader without followers. In other words, the strength of a leader is the followers.

When a Leader like a good herdsman, pastures his flocks in good stead, the flocks do not stray and vice versa.

Sir, You know more than I do, that your Party is not in the best of times in the State now.

Can I be permitted to suggest that you forget the past and be forward looking?
Knowing you the much I can claim, I believe strongly that one of your saddest moments in your deep recess, is knowing that Your Party hasn’t representatives in Elective Offices in the State.

You are not a sadist. I can thumb up my chest to put this on record.
(I am not patronising you Sir).

As a leader, you sure know the characteristic features of the homo sapiens.
Disobedience is innate in man. Other lesser animals can be tamed to behave in a particular way not man.

For example, a dog can be made to watch over a child and it maintains that daily. But with man, the day a rule is made to compel him do a particular thing, he sees it as enslavement and may tend to disobey.

You as an Ikwerre man knows that when an argument ensues between a rich and poor Ikwerre man, as soon as he says “Do you feed me?, Am I eating in your house?” If proper care is not taken, exchange of physical blows follow instantly.

Sir, can you let go the past, forgive and forget?

Can you not continue to give opportunity to crisis entrepreneurs merchandising in their trade of fanning the embers of mischief, sycophancy and seeds of discord?
Can u see every member of APC RIVERS STATE, as your loyalist necessarily?
As a leader sir, you know too that there is no “Know-All-And-Do-All”, known to history.

Consultations and constant engagements are key to the success of any Leader.
Kindly sir, can you drop the notion of having your preferred members or friends while others are betrayers and thus not in the mainstream of your contemplation?
Can you sir stop casting aspersions and showing perceived hatred to some party members who expressed certain misgivings and ill treatments of whatsoever?

Kindly sir, take your usual boldness to call all to a meeting and admonish on the need for all to work together towards achieving our goals.

When this meeting is called, all will know who the aggressors and enemies of the party are.

The meeting anticipated here, is a meeting widely publicized and all encompassing.

It doesn’t detract or make you a weak Leader Sir.

You have shown scintillating Leadership as Speaker, RSHA for 8 years and Two terms Chairman of Association of Speakers in Nigeria.

8 Years Governor of Rivers State and two term Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum. These are organisations of equals. Your prodigies while on these saddles are crisp and crystal. You are an acclaimed Emancipator. Come back sir. I offer this with the greatest respect Pls.

The plenty cases in court can be withdrawn and settled out of court without bruces. Ego trip may transport us to the Apex Court and we return with blemishes and skemishes and sours.

There might be the interest of an unseen hands in the imbroglio.

So sorry for “So Long a Narrative”.

I shall address the issues of jabs when fully compiled. Thanks all for indulging me.

My name is Tony C Okocha, Ksc, JP.

CelebritiesPopular Child-star Gospel Singer Barbara Aduba Turns Pastor by argob44(op):
Gospel musician Barbara Aduba who is famously known by her debut single ‘Eze; King of kings’, song she did at the age of 10, is now a Pastor.

Barbara confirmed this in a chat with ASB News on Thursday. When asked if she is now a Pastor, she simply replied, “Yes I am”.

The Anambra born singer had earlier posted photos from her pastoral commissioning in January, but the follow-up caption wasn’t so evidence for many to recognise.

Her post in January reads: “Hello 2020! The year started off on a high note… Grateful for a higher call to service in my home Church. Welcome to your best year yet. P. Barbz,” she wrote.

Barbara was commissioned by her Pastor and biological father, Pastor Aduba, who is the Senior Pastor of Triumphant Family Church, in Benin City, Edo State.

SportsDeontay Wilder Taken To Hospital After Tyson Fury Defeat by argob44(op): 9:05am On Feb 24, 2020
Deontay Wilder was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after his defeat to Tyson Fury.

Wilder's corner threw in the towel in the seventh round with the American being dominated by the Gypsy King.

He took plenty of punishment and was bleeding from his left ear and mouth before the fight was stopped and he lost his WBC heavyweight belt.

After the fight, he criticised his corner for throwing in the towel and not letting him "go out on his shield" as he was interviewed after being checked over by medics.

SportsAnthony Joshua Looks Set To Face Next Opponent Kubrat Pulev In Nigeria by argob44(op): 6:23am On Jan 25, 2020
Promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed Pulev is the ‘front-runner’ to face Anthony Joshua next and said the fight would likely take place in the UK or in Nigeria.

‘Kubrat Pulev is the frontrunner,’ said Hearn. ‘I think we’ve established that the IBF mandatory was called before the WBO mandatory.

‘Pulev is the fight for me, and more importantly for the boss, AJ, he wants it here. He’s boxed now in Saudi Arabia for his last fight, he’s boxed in New York before that.

‘For me, it’s time to come home. The bad news is that Kubrat Pulev wants as much money as possible for this fight and he realises there’s more money in Istanbul, or Saudi Arabia, or the Congo, or Nigeria, but AJ is going to call the shots.

‘He may end up having to let the Pulev fight go, if he won’t fight in the places that we’d like him to fight and that is in the UK.

‘We’re looking at dates at the end of May to the beginning of June for the Pulev fight. Everywhere is in play.

‘Emirates Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur, The Olympic Stadium, we’ve also reached out to Twickenham as well.

‘The Principality Stadium has got some dates for us, so in an ideal world, AJ’s next fight will be Kubrat Pulev in London, but this is far from an ideal world, particularly in the boxing game.’

HealthTerrifying ‘devil Horn’ Growing On Man’s Head Finally Removed By Doctors(photos) by argob44(op): 2:21pm On Sep 18, 2019
A terrifying four-inch 'devil horn' which grew from the top of man's head has finally been removed by doctors.

Shyam Lal Yadav, 74, said the unicorn-like horn started growing around five years ago after he bumped his head, but has been "kept under control" by his barber.
But the elderly farmer said it soon became hard and grew so long he had to seek help from surgeons.

The growth, called a sebaceous horn, is a tumour - often benign - that forms from the keratin in the skin and nails.

They typically grow on the face, hands, ears and nails - and in rarer cases they have been found to grow on a man's penis.

Neurosurgeons at Bhagyoday Tirth Hospital in Sagar city, India, removed the 'devil horn' lump and he is now recovering.

Surgeon Dr Vishal Gajbhiye said: "Around five years ago the patient had hurt his head after which a lump started growing.

"Initially, he ignored it as it did not cause any discomfort. Also, he got the growth cut by the local barber.

"But, when the lump hardened and started growing further, he approached the hospital at Sagar.

"In medical term, this type of rare growth is called sebaceous horn (devil's horn).

"As the horn is composed of keratin, the same material found in fingernails, the horn can usually be removed with a sterile razor.

"However, the underlying condition will still need to be treated.
"The sebaceous horns are predominantly benign lesions however the possibility of malignant potential should always be kept in mind.

"Treatments vary, but they can include surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.

"Immediately after its removal, skin was grafted on the wound which has now healed completely."

Shyam, from Rahli village in Madhya Pradesh, India, said the lump had been growing in size since 2014.

The cause of the horns is unknown, but it is believed that exposure to radiation or sunlight can trigger the condition.

Photos taken before the operation showed the horn towering out the top of his head.

CrimeWhite Handkerchief Tied On Victims Of Port-Harcourt Serial Killer (Photos) by argob44(op): 10:11am On Sep 17, 2019
By Akeem Rotimi - ASBnews.ng

All the victims of the Port Harcourt unknown serial killer were tied with a white handkerchief on their necks

Rivers State capital, Port Harcourt is currently in chaos and in tears as several ladies have been reportedly killed in different hotels by an unidentified serial killer.

Another lady was reportedly murdered again in a hotel located at Rumuola, Port Harcourt on Sunday. And as usual, a white handkerchief was tied on the naked victim's legs, hands and neck.

The lifeless body of the yet to be identified lady was discovered on Monday Sept. 16 inside one of the rooms of the hotel. This is coming few days after another lady was found strangled to death at another hotel in the State.

One of the victims identified as Nikky Dora worked at the hotel. Her sister Nketa Esther Bright said she was killed alongside another staff while attending to some guys that booked a room at the lodging facility.

The Nigerian Police Force had claimed that prostitution is what got the victims to the hotel rooms and also what got them killed. But, a twitter user recently tweeted revealing the 'modus operandi' of the alleged serial killers on the lose in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

According to the Twitter user, the killers are ritualists who pose as potential customers to unsuspecting victims. She said most of their victims (all females) are online vendors who are usually lured to the hotels to deliver "pay on delivery" wares.

She also claimed that the killers usually use a lady to communicate with the "vendors", making it look really unsuspicious.

She said such "vendors", upon arrival at the hotels, are lured to the rooms by the female posing as customer, with flimsy excuse of being too lazy to walk, or not dressed up.

When asked by her followers how she managed to gather such information, she claimed a friend who was lucky not to have fallen victim, shared the story.

According to the story, the lady overheard a male voice at the background of the telephone conversation with her suppose female buyer.

She claimed her friend heard a male voice whispering to her suppose customer 'tell her to come to the room', which made her to quickly exit the premises.

This year alone, more than 8 ladies have been murdered in hotels and in similar manner, prompting people to believe a serial killer is on the prowl in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

Foreign AffairsTrump Confirms Death Of Al-qaeda Heir Hamza Bin Laden by argob44(op): 4:36pm On Sep 14, 2019
US President Donald Trump on Saturday confirmed that Hamza bin Laden, the son and designated heir of Al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden, was killed in a counter-terrorism operation along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

US media reported in late July and early August, citing intelligence officials, that the younger Bin Laden had been killed sometime in the last two years in an operation that involved the United States.

Secretary of Defense Mark Esper confirmed the death last month, saying it was "his understanding" that Bin Laden was dead, but Trump and other senior officials had not publicly confirmed the news.

"Hamza bin Laden, the high-ranking al-Qaeda member and son of Osama bin Laden, was killed in a United States counterterrorism operation in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region," Trump said in a brief statement issued by the White House.

"The loss of Hamza bin Laden not only deprives Al-Qaeda of important leadership skills and the symbolic connection to his father, but undermines important operational activities of the group."

The statement did not specify the timing of the operation.

The 15th of Osama bin Laden's 20 children and a son of his third wife, Hamza, thought to be about 30 years old, was "emerging as a leader in the Al-Qaeda franchise," the State Department said in announcing a $1 million bounty on his head in February 2019 -- perhaps after his actual demise.

Sometimes dubbed the "crown prince of jihad," he had put out audio and video messages calling for attacks on the United States and other countries, especially to avenge his father's killing by US forces in Pakistan in May 2011, the department said.

That work made him important in attracting a new generation of followers to the extremist group that carried out the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, which left nearly 3,000 dead.

- Heir apparent -

Osama bin Laden's death and the rise of the more virulent Islamic State group saw Al-Qaeda lose currency with younger jihadists.

But the proliferation of branches and associated jihadist groups in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and elsewhere have underscored its continuing potency.

Documents seized in the raid on his father's house in Abbottabad, Pakistan suggested Hamza was being groomed as heir to the Al-Qaeda leadership.

US forces also found a video of Hamza's wedding to the daughter of another senior Al-Qaeda official that is believed to have taken place in Iran.

In 2017, Hamza was placed on the US terror blacklist, seen as a potent future figurehead for the group then led by Ayman al-Zawahiri.
