Nigerian gospel singer Sinach who is currently in Russia for a concert was given a hero's welcome by the Embassy of Nigeria in Moscow.

The 46-year-old worship leader was hosted by Pastor Chidi Ezimako and Pastor Nnamdi of her church, Christ Embassy in Russia.

Sinach who was accompanied by her husband, Joe Egbu, thanked the Nigeria Embassy in Russia for their heart-warming welcome.

"Thank you for the amazing welcome by the Embassy of Nigeria in Moscow". Sinach wrote on social media.

Sinach is expected to be in Brussels on the 29th of June for her Belgium tour concert.

Police in Chipata have arrested a 48-year-old man for defiling his 15-year-old biological daughter and fathering a child with her, with the consent of the girl’s mother in a ritual aimed at making the family wealthy.

Eastern Province commissioner of police Alex Chilufya said that Lameck Sakala and his daughter have been engaging in an incestuous sexual affair between 2014 and 2017 with the consent of the girl’s mother.

Mr Chilufya said Sakala ended up impregnating his daughter, who has since given birth.

He said the defilement happened at Chalo Chata village, Chief Mkanda’s area in Chipata district.

“Sakala defiled the minor, who is now with a two-month-one-week-old baby,” he said.

Mr Chilufya said the child was coerced into incest by both parents as a means of making the family rich.

He said Sakala’s wife has since died.

Mr Chilufya said Sakala will appear in court soon.

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, and the Church of Satan clashed on Twitter on Monday over a former New York City prosecutor, Linda Fairstein.

Fani-Kayode had taken to his social media handle to lambast Fairstein who led the prosecution of the Central Park Five case, wherein five teenagers, four African-American and one Hispanic, were wrongfully convicted for the 1989 rape and assault in Central Park of a white female jogger.

The former minister described Fairstein as a racist and a member of the Church of Satan.

He wrote, “Former NYPD cop, Linda Fairstein, is a racist, witch and a member of the Church of Satan. She should be prosecuted and burnt at the stake with her books. She deserves the death penalty for what she did to those five boys #Central Park 5 #Cancel Linda Farstein.”

In a swift reply, however, the Church of Satan said Farstein was not its member.

The church, in a response through its official Twitter handle, tweeted, “She has nothing to do with us. Please leave us out of it.”

Fani-Kayode, however, responded, “Get thee behind me Satan!”

The church, however, said such threats do not work.

It responded, “That doesn’t actually work. We are right here in front of you telling you that you are making false, unfounded accusations and asking you nicely to please leave us out of it as it has nothing to do with us.”

The former minister again responded saying that he was sure that Farstein was a member of the Church of Satan and dared the church to publish a list of its members.

Fani-Kayode tweeted, “In Jesus name, I bind you and send you to the desert places. The devil is a liar; he was a liar and a murderer from the start and the father of lies. You claim she is not your member and you expect me to believe you. Make your list of members public and prove me wrong. Stop disowning your own.”

Fairstein is an American author, attorney, and former New York City prosecutor focusing on crimes of violence against women and children. She was the head of the sex crimes unit of the Manhattan District Attorney’s office from 1976 until 2002.

During that time, she oversaw the prosecution of the Central Park Five case, wherein five teenagers, four African-American and one Hispanic, were wrongfully convicted for the 1989 rape and assault in Central Park of a white female jogger.

All five convictions were vacated in 2002 after Matias Reyes, a convicted serial rapist and murderer confessed to having been the sole perpetrator of the crime, and DNA testing showed he was the sole contributor of the DNA of the semen on the victim. After Reyes’s confession in 2002, Fairstein still maintained that the wrongfully convicted teenage boys were guilty and she lauded the police investigation as “brilliant”.

A recent Netflix series titled, ‘When They See Us’ brought the case back to the limelight.

A video of a woman and her son were rescued from husband who allegedly tied them up in an attempt to take them away, to be used for money rituals.

The man ran out of luck when the woman screamed for help out of the vehicle.


Her cry attracted people’s attention, who approached the vehicle and rescued the woman and her son.

The incident took place in Surulere, Lagos State.

Nigeria captain John Mikel Obi has said that the Super Eagles is up for the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations which will hold in Egypt, later this month, ASB News reports.

Mikel returned to the team ahead of the AFCON after being absent from international scene since after the World Cup in Russia.

The former Chelsea star who had a short spell with English Championship side, Middlesbrough, said he is now ready to lead the Nigeria team again. Speaking after a training session in Asaba, where the team is currently camped in Nigeria, said that he is happy with the progress the team has made so far, he also said that he fitted in seamlessly after many months of absence.

“I’m really happy to be back in the team and I’m happy with the progress made so far. I fitted in seamlessly because it was not a problem for me as I have great understanding of the team and the coach very well.

"I needed rest because I was struggling with injuries but now I’m ready to lead the team again. The best team will win the AFCON and we are up for it as we are training twice a day.”

Meanwhile, 18-man squad of the Zimbabwe's national team have arrived in Nigeria for Saturday's international friendly game against the Super Eagles in Asaba.

The match would kick-off 5pm, Nigeria time.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly bought the most expensive car in the world, a Bugatti La Voiture Noire, rated at £9.5million.

The Juventus forward, who is known for his love of Bugatti's, has apparently bought the newest model, according to AS.

La Voiture Noire, which literally means "the black car", was built to celebrate the company's 110th anniversary and its unveil at the Geneva Motor Show certainly caused a buzz among enthusiasts.

A Twitter user, wrote: "Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly bought the most expensive car ever, Bugatti La Voiture Noire [$12m]. There's only one model of this car and it finally seems to have an owner. He can drive it from 2021. "

Recall, ASBnews.ng reported that after Portugal's historic victory over France in the 2016 European Championship final, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner celebrated in style with getting a Veyron worth around $1.5 million.

The Ebonyi born worship songs maestro was born 30 March 1973 in Lagos.

Sinach, married to Joe Egbu began her musical career in 1994 and she is currently the senior worship leader at Christ Embassy.The singer will mark her birthday in a grandstyle this year as she will be having a live concert in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) planning yet another three months strike.

The union said this via its official Twitter handle, in reply to a question.

ASUU had called of its three-month strike in February after reaching an agreement with the federal government over issues bothering on staff welfare among others.

“Thinking of going on another 3 months strike action,” it wrote.It is not yet clear if the union was joking but the tweet did not go down well with many Nigerians.

Nigerian rapper and actor Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has started dropped a new single “Talk” as Nigerians react.

The song which is directed by Prodigeezy, features Falz driving alongside other men, while different scenes relating to the lyrics of the song played out.

‘Talk’ is a socio-conscious record that addresses critical happenings and advises the youths to be wary of ‘greedy politicians.’

As the 2019 general election draws near, the artiste uses lyrics of the song to address critical leadership issues and advised Nigerians, especially the youths, to speak up for what they truly want.

Falz, now popularly known by industry watchers as a ‘Music Activist’, had earlier hinted fans that he would release an album titled ”Moral Instruction” on January 15.

He said of the album, “There is a dire need for us to redefine the concept of humanity and morality.

“There is a pressing need for re-education and re-orientation of the people, for this is the only way we can restore sanity.”

Falz, a lawyer turned singer, began his professional career as a music artiste in 2009, and currently owns an independent record label called Bahd Guys Records.

He is the son of Femi Falana (SAN), a Nigerian human rights activist and lawyer.

The music artiste came to limelight after his song “Marry Me” (featuring vocals from Poe and Yemi Alade) won him a nomination in the “Best Collaboration of The Year” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

In 2018, Falz released a controversial audio/visual song “This Is Nigeria”, a mock-up of American rapper Childish Gambino’s “This Is America”.

It addresses societal issues prevalent in Nigeria, including police Special Anti-robbery Sqaud brutality, codeine abuse, and killings in some parts of the country.

The video of the song highlights the nation’s issues especially violence and corruption in politics, policing, and religious bigotry.
The song was, however, banned by National Broadcasting Commission.

.com or .ng or .com.ng are just like suffix or say an attribute, it restricts the domain to a particular section, location or say a type of organisation.
.com means communication and that's the main purpose of a website I think, but other attributes added will some sort of restriction to the website. Examples: .ng means its majorly for Nigerians or its located in Nigeria or informations and products on the sites will benefits Nigerians. .edu simply means the website is an educational website, .uk is for united kingdom, .net means its a networking site, .za is for south Africa .TV means its a telecommunication or television website and so on. I believe the website designers should be able to explain better.

Nigeria’s number one goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, was in another super form for Elche in the Spanish second division as they recorded a 2-0 win over Real Zaragoza.

Uzoho, who manned Nigeria’s goal at the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia, kept a clean sheet for the second time in a row, as he made a huge save in the closing stages of the game at Zaragoza.

Uzoho who turned 20 on Sunday, 28th October, dived at full length to deny Zaragoza with a fingertip save.

The Super Eagles striker, who's had to overcome several hurdles since moving to England, will heave a sigh of relief after converting off a training ground routine.

Isaac Success scored his first English Premier League goal as Watford saw off Huddersfield Town 3-0.

Although he has recorded two goals in cup games for the Hornets since joining from Granada in a record deal as a highly rated prospect in the summer of 2016, the striker has yet to find the back of the net in the top-flight.

But on Saturday afternoon, with his side already two goals ahead, the Nigeria international wrap up the victory, finishing off a perfect free kick move with ten minutes left of regular time.

Javi Gracia continued to shy away from his trusted 4-4-2 system to deploy Success as his side's lone striker.

His persistence with the tactic yielded dividends again as Roberto Pereyra and Gerard Deulofeu both converted solo efforts to put them two-goal ahead within nine first-half minutes before Success' late effort - on his 29th Premier League outing - to make the maximum points safe.

The 22-year-old has now scored three goals in 12 games across all competitions for seventh-placed Watford.
