Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr was at the receiving end of the wrath of pick pockets at the end of the Aiteo Cup Final between Enugu Rangers and Kano Pillars.

The Enugu side came from three goals down to draw 3-3 before finally winning 4-3 on penalties much to the dismay of fans of Kano based side Kano Pillars who were 17 minutes away from becoming champions.

Rohr watched the game live at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State Nigeria and according to the coach his pocket was picked on his way out of the stadium as various people make their way out after the game.

Valuables like his smartphone and immigration documents were among the items picked from the Franco-German coach ‎and he has pleaded with whoever is behind it to return them as a handsome reward awaits whoever returns the items.

“I lost my wallet containing my Samsung 8 and my visa visiting card just after the Aiteo Cup final in Asaba on Wednesday.

“I was trying to exit the stadium but the fans were many pushing and running up and down. So I didn’t know the time my wallet was stolen. I am appealing to whoever took it to please return it to me because I am also a Nigerian by working with our darling Super Eagles.

“The documents are very vital for my work with the Eagles and the Nigeria Football Federation. We still have many qualifying and other friendly matches to play and I won’t be able to do the work without the items. I will personally reward whoever helps find the wallet with the items in it,” Rohr revealed to Lagos based Newspaper, SportingLife.

President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the new international terminal of the Port Harcourt International Airport In Rivers State.

President Buhari opened the new terminal on Thursday at a ceremony attended by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Minister of State for Aviation Hadi Sirika and several other top government officials.

The President arrived at the state capital, Port Harcourt around 12:20 pm in what was his first official visit for the inauguration of the project.

The new terminal is one of four built with a $500 million loan taken from China in 2013. Nigeria provided $100 million as counterpart funding for the projects.

The projects were expected to be delivered in 18 months but the new terminal is being commisioned five years after.

The new international terminal in Port Harcourt is the first to the completed with Abuja, Kano and Lagos to follow.

President Muhammadu Buhari has showered praises on former President, Goodluck Jonathan, saying he holds his predecessor in high esteem for accepting defeat in 2015.

Speaking on Thursday night when he hosted members of the Kannywood entertainment industry to a dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the president said that for that singular act, Jonathan will always remain in his mind.

He said, “I’ll continue to hold the former president, Jonathan in high esteem as a result of that singular act.”

Speaking further, Buhari declared that the activities of the Boko Haram sect in the Northern part of the country would soon become a history.

He said: “It’s totally wrong for any believer in God to kill innocent people either in the Mosque, Church or the marketplace.

“You can’t be shouting Allahu Akbar (Allah is Great), Allahu Akbar, and killing innocent citizens and destroying property all in the name of God.

“It is either you don’t know what you are saying or you don’t even believe in the existence of God Almighty. God has nothing to do with injustice.

“So, now we are confronting them and by the grace of God, we will destroy them,” explains the president who will be facing stiff opposition from PDP’s Atiku in the coming months.

The president of Ambassadors Word Church, Pastor David O. Okoye, celebrates his birthday today, 19th October.

The man of God is married to his beautiful wife, Pastor Esther Okoye, and they have a beautiful daughter together.

One would be wondering how old is Pastor David Okoye celebrating today, I know even you reading this now is wondering...yes, how old is he!

Pastor David was born many years ago in Anambra State, Nigeria. He is one of the sons of a renowned minister, Bishop E.C Okoye. He is a graduate of Madonna University, Elele, Rivers state. He studied Micro-Biology.

He is the author of the prestigious daily devotional, Ambassadors Diet. According to Pastor David's mother, the man of God started writing the daily devotional when he was still in secondary school.

Odion Ighalo scored twice as Nigeria beat Libya 3-2 in the return leg fixture of the AFCON 2019 qualifier which took place in Tunisia, on Tuesday.

Nigeria's Ighalo opened scoring in the 15th min the after receiving a brilliant pass from the captain of the day, Ahmed Musa to put Nigeria in front.

Nigeria double their led as Ahmed Musa slot in a brilliant goal 2 mins later to make it 2-0. The Libyans put a goal back in the 35th mins to make the score 2-1 at half time.

The first period of the 2nd half was for the Libyans, as they mount pressure on the Super Eagle which paid off in 74th mins as they got their equalizer to make it 2-2.

Ighalo then scored his 6th goals in three consecutive games for the Super Eagles to end the match 3-2 in favour of Nigeria. He scored the beautiful goal, beating two Libyans defenders before slotting it home for Nigeria.

Nigeria now top the group E with 9 points, South Africa is placed second with 8 points after playing a barren draw with Seychelles in their return leg fixture on Tuesday.

Changchun Yatai F.C of the Chinese league striker, Odion Ighalo has joined the league of the Super Eagles hat trick heroes.

In more than 65 years of Nigeria’s senior team existence, Ighalo became the 9th players who have scored three times against opposition.

Ighalo scored his first hat trick for the Super Eagles in the AFCON qualifier game against Libya in Uyo, Nigeria.

The 29-year-old joins hat trick heroes which include, Buraimoh Abudu, Paul Hamilton, Bobo Mordi, Thompson Usiyen, Segun Odegbami, Rasheed Yekini, Victor Ikpeba, Ikechukwu Uche and Nnamdi Oduamadi.

Nigeria defeated the Libyans 4-0 with Samuel Kalu scoring his first for the Super Eagles.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, Friday night confirmed he had picked former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi as his running mate.

The confirmation was contained in a statement by the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCO).

APCO also gave reasons why Obi was picked, explaining that his choice was largely influenced by his youthfulness, vast knowledge of global and local economics as well as being a financial expert, an experience which it said Nigeria was in need of at this point in time.

The statement by the Director General, Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCO), Otuba Gbenga Daniels, described Obi as an astute professional who had laid his footprints across the corporate world.

Daniels said Obi, born on 19th July, 1961, attended the Christ the King College, Onitsha and later proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.

He said Obi was also a graduate of several international and national institutions such as the Lagos Business School, Harvard Business School, London School of Economics, Columbia Business School, Institute of Management, Switzerland, Kellogg Graduate School, Oxford University and Cambridge University.

He said Obi was the Chairman, Board of Security and Exchange Commission (SEC); former Chairman, Fidelity Bank PLC; former Chairman, Guardian Express Mortgage Bank; former Chairman, Future Views Securities; former Chairman, Paymaster Nigeria; former Chairman, Next International Nigeria; former Director, Guardian Express Bank PLC; former Director, Chams Nigeria PLC; former Director, Emerging Capital: former Director, Card Centre PLC.

Daniel said Obi is a member of the British Institute of Directors (IOD), Nigerian Chartered Institute of Bankers and Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).

The APC national Chairman, Comr. Adams Oshiomhole is married to a beautiful Cape Verdean, Iara Fortes Oshiomhole. Oshiomhole married her in May 2015.

Where is the beautiful lady was the question AsbGistNigeria asked a close source to the former Edo State governor.

Well, we are not going to quote the source who wants to remain anonymous. But, here is what he said. He said Oshiomhole has sent her out of the country in preparation of the 2019 general election.

According to the source, the APC chairman doesn't want any distraction so he sent her abroad.

Iara Oshiomhole was last seen during the APC national convention in Abuja, in June 23, 2018.

It seems the 2019 election is a do or die affair for the APC and their chairman Oshiomhole. Oshiomhole, a rugged politician has not lost any campaigns since becoming the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman.

He has succeded in two campaigns so far which include, Ekiti and Osun state guber election.

Rev. Chris Oyakhilome's daughter Carissa Sharon and her hearthrob Philip Frimpong were joined together in a Church wedding ceremony, on Saturday 6, October.

The couple had their traditional wedding on Thursday 4th of October.

Sharon who wore a beautiful white off shoulder ball gown was walked down the aisle by the father, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, who is the founding pastor of Christ Embassy Church which is also called Believers' Loveworld Incorporated.

The couple were joined together by American healing minister and televangelist, Pastor Benny Hinn.

Flood has taken over Amasoma community in Bayelsa state, where the Niger Delta University, NDU, is located.

According to Voke Akpata, a Medical student of the University, who spoke with Asbgistng, the flood started very little about two weeks ago but has become worse just this week.

She said:

"This is my school o, NDU, this whole flooding issue started about two weeks ago, and have gotten worse this week that students are now using canoes to go for lectures and back to their respective houses."

A video she sent to aAsbGist Nigeria further revealed the condition of the students. Students were seen using canoes and some of them saying "This is my lodge, flood".

No fewer than 150,000 persons have been displaced by the flood in Bayelsa, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Sunday, said.

The tragedy that happened at Onicha-Ugbo/Abuja road community which saw a lady identified as Blessing, beheaded after a ghastly accident, has brought sadness to the community during her festive period.

Blessing, a single mother of two is from Ukwuani, Delta State.

According to the community former youth president and the Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Onicha-Ugbo North, Mr Monye Azubuike, the deceased was coming back from a hotel popularly known as 'Alumo', where she works as a sex worker when the ghastly accident occurred.

He told AsbGistng:

Her name is Blessing, she is from Ukwuani. There is a hotel they call Alumo in Onicha-Ugbo, that is where she hustle as a sex worker. So, that night she went to sleep with a guy, you know girls, they can be funny, she now collected the bike to drive, said let her carry the guy.

Mr. Monye said the tragic accident happened at around 9am on Thursday morning.

A trailer likely coming from Onitsha blew horn as the lady ran into the trailer. The accident happened just in front of Onicha-Ugbo, Abuja road post office at around 9am. We are so shocked, we have never seen such an accident before. It was a disaster, he said.

Immediately the trailer crashed her bike, it cut off her head and the tyre of the trailer smashed her head, her brain, everything on the ground.

Mr Monye also revealed that the guy that had the accident with the deceased is currently receiving treatment in a hospital near the community.

Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Sinach and her crew arrived Benin on Monday 10th September to perform at the early morning dew service of the 84th birthday celebration of the Esama of Benin, Chief Dr. Osawaru Igbinedion.

Sinach was accompanied by her husband, Pastor Joe Egbu.

AsbGistng gathered that the singer was specially invited to perform at the birthday of the Esama of Benin.

Sinach and her husband also joined the celebrant, the Esama to take breakfast at his residence in Okada, Edo state.
