Nobody has ever gone up by bringing others down, and no one has ever crossed to the other side cutting others to pieces. You can never use rumors, threat, gossip and lies to achieve your purpose. anyicash:That has been my lifestyle. Like I said, I am an introvert. Self employed and I work from home. I spend more than 90% of my time on myself. Still Learning continues |
anyicash:That is how it suppose to be. When you are being honest with yourself before making that move, inner peace of mind is always guaranteed. You do not need to tell a blind man is raining...lol |
anyicash:God bless you too. I will keep to that.. thanks |
To be honest, life has been so fair to me. My dad trained me how to be self independent and self reliance which really work out for me. To start with, I am an introvert. I talk less and listen more. My self confidence is unshakable. I do my things in my own way and with God, things has been going perfectly even though ( Oliver Twist). My believe about friendship is that if you have 10 friends, true friends can not be more than 3. The remaining 7 are just always there during good time. They need more from you than what you need from them. They take advantage of your weakness and capitalise on it. Honesty and generosity has been part of me which I am very proud of but I am thinking of putting it on hold. I gave a lot without getting anything in return. People praise you when you are there for them but backbite you when you can't help. For the past 2 months, my concentration had been about a better future. Though solid plans are on ground to achieve it but I think I need more time for myself in order to stay focus. This has affect my social life, kindness and generosity. I had reduced my communication with people, ( facebook, whatsapp, calls and text) single and happy. Infact, people complained everyday about this and I can't help the situation. Sometimes, I am moved by their consign but at the same time, my future is more important to me. This is the time for me to make it happen. How do you advice I handle the people complaining about my new lifestyle? |
I borrowed N50 from Mr A and also N50 from Mr B. I purchased an item worth N97. Balance left with me was N3. I returned N1 to Mr A, N1 to Mr B. Balance left with me is N1. The next day, I was so lucky, someone gave me N100. I gave Mr A N49 and Mr B N49 as their balance respectively. I was left with N2 plus the N1 previous balance making N3 balance with me now. Where is the missing N1? |
I read a lot of comments here about some people celebrating/happy whenever Niger delta Avengers or other terrorist group blew up a gas/petroleum pipeline. I believe supporting them means you support their motives and always find happiness in doing so. If you were given a gun, what would you do as their supporter? A. Kill your fellow human being all in the name of fighting for freedom B. Blow up the remaining gas and petroleum pipeline to satisfy your conscience? |
PMB: Good morning Prof. How is the situation in Nigeria? PYO : Your Excellency, good morning How is London? PMB : (prolonged laughter) Chai, these Nigerians will never stop amusing me, I hope it's not our Ekiti man that said it? Prof, how do you think a Lion can run away from antelopes, (laughter). The issue of destiny is loaded question. Nearly everyone wants to believe in the concept. Atheists may believe that there’s no God, no purpose and no point to life, but it’s pretty tough living that philosophy out in the day-to-day trenches. The idea of destiny gives us a reason to go on, motivation that our lives matter beyond PTA meetings, job reviews and visits to the local coffee shop. The Christian tradition teaches that God has a purpose and plan for our lives. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, we have a higher calling and a guide to help us navigate our way through this world and the next. Religious or not, most people want to believe they have a purpose for living, and would find it enormously difficult to go on without that knowledge. So the question remains: Do we have a destiny, and is it possible to discover it? We don’t have a locked down, concrete, unchanging destiny we were born to accomplish. Destiny isn’t a task. It’s not an end point. It’s not something you can check off a to-do list. Your destiny is a moving target. An unexpected divorce doesn’t derail your destiny. The soldier who lost his legs in battle hasn’t lost his destiny. Bankruptcy can’t undermine your destiny. Your purpose is bigger than any obstacle like physical limitations, financial circumstances, being fired or other failure. Nothing can change the fact that you have a unique reason for being here, and there’s still time to discover it. I think we’ve spent too much time looking to the idea of destiny as a quick fix, a get-rich scheme or a stopping point. We think we’ll attend a conference and our destiny will be revealed to us during a workshop or seminar. We hope that it will descend out of the sky or someone will reveal it to us We have a destiny. We have a purpose. We have one important thing. But it only comes with coaxing, work and action. Destiny wants to be pursued. It wants to be discovered. Why? Because it’s in the journey we learn to understand and value what it means. Source: https://web.facebook.com/forum9ja/posts/1148172041911261 |
According to Christianity, Satan is the epitome and embodiment of all evil things, described as "the father of all lies" in the Catholic Church's Catechism . It is his works that tempt humans into doing bad deeds. If something evil occurs, we can be assured that Satan had something to do with it. According to Catholicism, Satan only exists because God allows him to. This raises some serious issues about how righteous God can be if he allows evil to exist, but I digress. Satan, as the story goes, began as the angel Lucifer, who outrightly rejected God and rebelled against him. God cast Lucifer and those who followed him into Hell, a place of eternal torture and despair, where God was not present. Now the question, we are never told why Satan rebelled against God. We're never given his side of the story. Were Satan's reasons for rejecting God and attempting to overthrow him legitimate? |
Muslims often complain of "misconceptions" about their religion in the West. We took a hard look, and found that the most prevalent myths of Islam are the ones held by Muslims and Western apologists. The only exception may be the misconception that all Muslims are alike (they aren't, of course), but even many Muslims often believe this as well, which is why there are various factions insisting that they are true Muslims, while those who disagree with them are either infidels, hijackers, or hypocrites. Don't be fooled! Hear the myths, but know the truth. Myths of Islam The Myth: Muslim apologists sometimes claim that the root word of Islam is “al-Salaam,” which is "peace" in Arabic. The Truth: An Arabic word has only one root. The root word for Islam is “al-Silm,” which means “submission” or “surrender.” There is no disagreement about this among Arabic or Islamic scholars. al-Silm (submission) does not mean the same thing as al-Salaam (peace), otherwise they would be the same word. Submission and peace can be very different concepts, even if a form of peace can be brought about by forcing others into submission. As the modern-day Islamic scholar, Ibrahim Sulaiman, puts it, "Jihad is not inhumane, despite its necessary violence and bloodshed, its ultimate desire is peace which is protected and enhanced by the rule of law." Jihad Means 'Inner Struggle' The Myth: Jihad simply means 'struggle' and really just refers to a peaceful striving against sin rather than a holy war to spread Islam. The Truth: In Arabic, "jihad" means struggle. In Islam, it means holy war. Islam is a Religion of Peace The Myth: Muhammad was a peaceful man who taught his followers to be the same. Muslims lived peacefully for centuries, fighting only in self-defense, and only when it was necessary. True Muslims would never act aggressively. The Truth: There shouldn't be any argument over who the "true Muslim" is because the Quran clearly distinguishes the true Muslim from the pretender in Sura 9 and elsewhere. From the history of the faith to its most sacred writings, those who want to believe in "peaceful Islam" have a lot more to ignore than do the terrorists. Islam is Tolerant of Other Religions The Myth: Religious minorities have flourished under Islam. Muslims are commanded to protect Jews and Christians (the People of the Book) and do no harm to them. In Sura 109, the Quran says, "To you, your religion. To me, mine. The Truth: If tolerance simply means discouraging the mass slaughter of those of a different faith, then today's practice of Islam generally meets this standard more often than not. But, if tolerance means allowing people of other faiths the same religious liberties that Muslims enjoy, then Islam is fundamentally the most intolerant religion under the sun. Islam is Completely Incompatible with Terror The Myth: It is against Islam to kill innocent people. Islam is completely incompatible with acts of terrorism. The Truth: Islam does prohibit killing innocent people. Although many Muslims earnestly believe that their religion prohibits the killing of innocent people by acts of terrorism, the truth is certainly more complicated. This is why Muslims on both sides of the terror debate insist that they are the true believers and accuse the other of hijacking Islam. It is also why organizations that commit horrible atrocities in the name of Allah, such as Hamas and Hezbollah, receive a significant amount of moral and financial support from the mainstream. 'Religion of peace' is not a harmless platitude. To face Islamist terror, we must face the facts about Islam's history. To break free, think clearly, and go beyond the mental slavery of your mind - Challenge your own thinking. Use your reasoning power against itself to make logical arguments for opposing beliefs and theories. Be honest with yourself and recognize your own biases. - Pay attention to your thoughts. Learn to observe your mind by developing self-awareness and consciousness. Routinely challenge your assumptions and their origins. Be willing to see how conditioned you might be. Start with a desire for the truth – no matter what it might be. Meditation and mindfulness practices are a great way to do this. - Become aware of the effect that certain words have on you. Notice which words generate strong reactions or feelings for you. Identify words that carry extra meaning for you or that may mean something different to others. Doing so will prepare you to listen more objectively and to be less reactive. - Learn to recognize when your thinking is being corrupted by your ego. Specifically to overcome the influence of the ego to: – have fewer opinions – argue less – question your motivations and challenge your assumptions – borrow instead of buying ideas – become interested in and make the opposing argument – be open to changing your mind – understand limitations – admit ignorance - Doubt the reality of any true authority. In fact, stop using the words “authority” or “expert” in your thinking and speech. This is not a lack of respect here; just that you never let someone think FOR you. Think more about the holy books. Ask questions - Do not measure and judge by self-reference. Become aware of your own mind and its limitations and biases. Your ideas and beliefs are not the standard against which all things are measured. While your beliefs are natural and obvious to you, others feel the same way about their own beliefs and judgments no matter how conflicting they may be with yours. - Question your habitual following of fear’s advice. Look past fearful thoughts for better ideas and assumptions. Purposefully, work through the fear and do that which scares you. Stop serving fear and think and act in spite of it. CC : Godgay |
See if your answer to most of those questions were yes: Over sensitivity is the trait that lets you become overly affected by an external influence that can hardly affect normal people. For example not being able to tolerate Constructive criticism that other people normally tolerate is a sign of over sensitivity. Do you get hurt by some words or comments that are told to you about your personality? Are you unable to tolerate criticism? Do you hate loud noise or loud music? Do you feel other people's pain and suffering more than anyone else? Are you slim or is your body smaller in size than the body of your peers? (The Ectomorph body type, 99% of the time very sensitive) Do you stop for more than three minutes when you see an accident in the street in order to watch it? Do you find it very hard to tolerate high or low temperatures? Do you find it very hard to gain muscles by working out? Do you have lots of mood swings as a result of small events? |
