A kiss is the pressing of one's lips against another person or an object. Cultural connotations of kissing vary widely. Depending on the culture and context, a kiss can express sentiments of love, passion, romance, eroticism, sexual attraction, affection, respect, greeting, friendship, peace and good luck, among many others. In some situations a kiss is a ritual, formal or symbolic gesture indicating devotion, respect, or sacrament. Here comes the question, when last did you kiss? |

Before there was something, there was nothing. And out of nothing, how did we get something? What existed before the big bang, before creation, and before God? Yes, it becomes very confusing when we throw in theories about other dimensions and non-linear time, but all of these theories fail to answer this most fundamental of all questions, “Why does anything exist?” We know things exist, but why? |
Hahahahaha.. What took you so long to reply? We have been waiting for you Mr talkative |
His arrest came after years of manhunt by the police. It also constituted a piece of surprise for many because of the myth that surrounded his name. Obinna Okorie Emeka, an alleged sponsor of robbery gangs declared by the police as most wanted, was said to have the mastermind of numerous trucks and containers hijacked by dare devil bandits in different parts of the country. Many members of the gangs he allegedly sponsored were said to have been killed or arrested by law enforcement agents while others had been tried and jailed, but Obinna remained elusive until he was recently arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command. Even the men that worked for him were said to have believed that he was too smart to be arrested by the police, particularly because he had the power to appear and disappear at will. Many police stations and commands, especially Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FedSARS) who had some years back arrested container and truck hijackers who claimed that Obinna was their chairman, were said to have tried in vain to track him down. Hence his designation as the most wanted sponsor of armed robberies. He was also regarded by the police as the biggest receiver of stolen goods in Nigeria. Asked how Obinna appeared on the wanted list of SARS, a police source said that SARS operatives had arrested and investigated more than eight armed robbery cases in which the suspects confessed that Obinna was their chairman and sponsors, and that he was the receiver of all the containers and trucks they had hijacked or diverted. The matter got to the knowledge of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, who immediately directed the officer in charge of SARS, Abba Kyari, a Superintendent of Police, to launch a manhunt for Obinna. Kyari swooped into action with his men and got Obinna arrested after he had given them some tough time. Upon Obinna’s arrest, it was discovered that his full name is Obinna Okorie Emeka, a 33-year-old indigene of Omo village in Olumba Local Government Area, Anambra State. But he was said to be resident at Ngozika Estate in Awka, Anambra State capital, where he was dealing in fairly used clothes. He was said to have been travelling to Cameroon to import the clothes before he ventured into crime. During his days as a pupil, he was said to have been very brilliant as he always came second or third in a class of 60 pupils. He, however, could not proceed to secondary because of his father’s early death and the poverty that ravaged his family. He was said to have avoided marriage for fear that policemen might storm the wedding venue to arrest him or use his wife to track him down. He did not have a girlfriend either for the same reasons. I do not support life time banning. 2-3 weeks ban is not bad. At least they must have learnt their lesson by then.. Do not shift the attention on me or I may send ebola to come and pay you a visit.. Gbam! |
Amara was born at Queen's Hospital in Romford, Essex, on August 3 weighing 6lbs 3oz and her single mother Onyi, a student, is baffled by her daughter's amazing ability. According to, her lil baby took matters into her own hands when she 'grabbed' her bottle during a feed and held it to her mouth unaided. She first did it at three days old and now - at three weeks old - regularly holds her bottle and pushes it aside when she is full up. Onyi, who is using a combination of breast and bottle feeding, said everyone is amazed by the feat. Source: http://naijagists.com/

How would you rate your state governor performances from 1-10? The rate shouldn't be based on political affiliation or religious sentiment . At least this would give an opportunity for your state man/woman who lives outside the state or the country to know the level of development. Format; Name the state: Governor: Your rate: |

SENATOR Smart Adeyemi, PDP, Kogi West, yesterday, upbraided state governors maintaining private jets to sell them and use the proceeds to boost job creation in their states. Senator Adeyemi, who led a delegation of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP federal lawmakers from Kogi State on a courtesy call to the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu at the occasion, predicted that erstwhile military Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari would in the next few months lead frontline members of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, into the ruling PDP. Muazu, who received Senator Adeyemi and the five members of the House of Representatives, praised the diligence and representation of Senator Adeyemi on the Senate floor, saying the party was proud of him. Members of the House of Representatives, who came along with the senator were Sunday Karimi, representing Yagba Federal Constituency; Tajudeen Yusuf, Kabba/ Bunu Federal Constituency; Tijani Yusuf, Okene/Ogori Federal Constituency; Tom Zakari, Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency and Inah Hussein, Idah Federal Constituency Senator Adeyemi, who took a swipe at state governors who fly around in private jets, stressed that it was rather unfortunate that the governors live in such luxury in the face of biting unemployment in the country. He thus charged the governors to sell the jets and use the proceeds to create jobs for their teeming unemployed people. He, however, declined to mention names of such governors. Praising the stewardship of the national chairman of the ruling party, Senator Adeyemi, who spoke on behalf of the lawmakers, said that it was his dream that Buhari and other national leaders of the APC defect to the PDP. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said yesterday, that it would not allow the use of masked security agents to safeguard the 2015 general elections, stressing that “any security personnel deployed for the election must be someone identifiable.” INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, who made the position of the Commission known during an interactive session he had in Abuja, yesterday, with both local and international Civil Society OrganiSations, CSOs, involved in monitoring elections in the country, described the emerging trend of using hooded security men for elections as “highly worrisome.” He said: “In recent times, we have witnessed an increased presence of hooded security operatives during elections. This is an emerging trend which is highly worrisome and which needs to be addressed in good time. “Security agents who are deployed on election duties should not be masked, the doctrine of transparency requires that they should be identifiable. “We will not allow such persons during the 2015 elections. Any security personnel deployed for the election must be someone identifiable, such that if anything happens we will be able to know who to hold responsible,” Jega added. Besides, the INEC boss decried what he termed “over-zealousness” of some security agents during the August 9 governorship election in Osun State, noting that some staff of the Commission and nine NYSC members, who were engaged as INEC ad-hoc staff, were erroneously arrested and kept in detention for over 12 hours. He said that they were arrested around 9p.m., on the eve of the election while on their way to the Registration Area Centers, RACs, which was provided for them by the Commission. “They were not released until about 6am the next day, a situation that almost disrupted the distribution of electoral materials in some areas. “It was sheer luck that we still managed to open the polling units early, otherwise, there would have been disaster. We took a serious view of that and reported the matter to all the appropriate authorities because at a point we became worried that some persons wanted to undermine our effort”. Nevertheless, Jega, maintained that the perceived over militarization of the just concluded Ekiti and Osun state governorship elections, did not deter electorates from teeming out to vote for their candidates. “In fact, the two elections proved that there was a high correlation between the massive deployment of security and the willingness of people to come out and vote. “Apart from over-zealousness on the part of some of the security men on the field, we discovered that people actually felt more secured to exercise their franchise. The key lesson our politicians need to learn from the two elections is that the era has gone when they relied on corrupt electoral officers or security agentsto manipulate elections. “In this era, any politician that intends to win election must reach out and convince the voters, be it through ‘stomach-infrastructure’ or otherwise. The only guarantee to win election now is to let the voters come out to vote for you, which in turn means that you must first of all convince them on your credibility,” he said. Highlighting some of the challenges the Commission faced prior to the Osun state election, Jega, narrated how some “unscrupulous elements”, attempted to use software to rig the electoral contest. “We discovered that some people had invaded our system with software that was reducing age on the register. Thank God that we discovered it before it was too late and had to put aside the register and produced another one, even though it was at a very high cost. “Despite the challenge, the Osun state election has been adjudged as one of the best we have conducted recently when judged by all variables for assessing a successful election. Though the election was not perfect, we however did a lot to improve on the Ekiti election. “It is also worthy to mention that before the Osun election, security agents were able to identify thugs that were imported into the state by politicians. The security men successfully cordoned the building where the thugs were kept and prevented them from leaving the compound until the election ended”. Jega further revealed that over 70 per cent of the electorates in Osun state collected their Permanent Voters Card, PVC, unlike in Ekiti state where he said only about 64 per cent of the electorates collected. It is the latest development in the continuing and unfolding story of the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa. Issa Tchiroma Bakary, a Cameroonian government spokesman, has announced to reporters that Cameroon has closed all borders with neighboring Nigeria. The story of the border closing by Cameroon was first reported on Monday by the AFP, and later by the Daily Nation newspaper. "All borders, land, sea, and air, between Cameroon and Nigeria are closed. Our thinking is that it is better to act preventively rather than have to heal" later those who may fall ill, said Issa Tchiroma Bakary. No cases of Ebola have been recorded so far in Cameroon. The West African nation shares a 2,000-kilometre-long (1,240-mile) border with Nigeria. Among the West African nations hit hardest by Ebola, Nigeria has had the fewest recorded cases of the disease. So far the virus in Nigeria has claimed four lives, with about a dozen people reportedly infected. Source: http://saharareporters.com/2014/08/18/entry-points-between-cameroon-and-nigeria-closed |
If Mallam Nuhu Ribadu can dump the APC (which he was the Presidential Candidate of in the 2011 elections) for the PDP (because he was promised a gubernatorial ticket), then anything can happen in Nigerian politics. If after cursing themselves several times on media, Engr. Segun Oni and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola (both former governors in the PDP) can port to the APC all in the name of being “progressive,” is there anything new again in Nigerian politics? If asked why Ribadu and others dumped the APC for the PDP, I'm sure they would respond, “For the best interests of our people.” Is it the interests of the people, or for their own selfish and egocentric personal interests? Could Ribadu still maintain the status quo of the adulation and self-acclaimed “progressiveness” as the general custom of his just-dumped party? What is the assurance that Uncle Ribadu will be given the gubernatorial ticket under his just-embraced political party? What moral justification could Ribadu say was behind his defection? Was the APC banned from contesting same position, or the platform he contested for the post of president is now not good enough to vie for gubernatorial post? Why did he wait this long to tell us that his vision for Nigeria has been surpassed by Uncle Jonathan? “Stomach politics dey call it” Nigerian politicians have been deceiving the masses with their tricks of only changing the bottles while the gins inside are always the same. They only change political parties, but their sycophant and wicked intents remain unchanged. Name one APC leader who is so passionate about Nigeria’s development that is not self-centered, fights for the masses and hasn't looted our treasury while in the PDP. The PDP also can never be an option because of their infidelity, embezzlement, corruption, aiding & abeting crimes, giving amnesty to criminals, celebrating & exonerating ex-convicts. Either the APC or the PDP, none is a saint. None is committed to the transformation of Nigeria. None is passionate about the well-being of Nigerians. None can sacrifice towards change at the expense of her interest. The 'masses' are not helping. They trade their dividends of democracy with stipends during election. They were easily cajoled with elephant agendas during manifestos. They prefer voting in exchange for food . Until we reject being addressed as the 'masses' but 'Fellow Nigerians', until we reject their money & other means of inducement during elections, until we all rise to fight these task-masters, until we occupy the judiciary & legislative arms to start following the rules of law, until we start respecting our Constitution – not Until all abnormalities are corrected, I fear for what the future generation will meet on ground. I seriously hope things will change. I anxiously expect Nigeria to become like others civilized countries where the rule of law is respected. Who will save Nigerians? Who will rescue Nigerians from the day-to-day tribulations of many epidemics? Who will rescue us from unemployment, poor healthcare, corruption, insurgency and other social vices? I grew up desperately seeking love, kindness and guidance from parents who were unable to meet my emotional needs. It is not pleasant to admit that, but it is true. It is also true that I transferred that desperate neediness as a young adult into relationships with men who couldn’t meet my emotional needs either. I’ve often said, “Men have been a big disappointment to me.” That is true too. After not being able to endure the pain of those disappointing experiences, I began to wake up to the common denominator in those relationships — me. What was it about me that kept me thinking I was getting the pizza I ordered only to keep having the wrong one delivered? I dug deep into the depths of my heart and soul and found a treasure buried there. I’ve learned many things I hope will be helpful to others in these difficulties and I’d like to share some of my findings with you. You are not responsible for other people’s behaviors; you are only responsible for your own. As children, we think we are the center of the universe and that our actions affect how everyone else feels. It doesn’t help when adults tell children that they make them feel a certain way. For instance, one of my mother’s famous sayings was, “You kids are going to make me go crazy.” I have yet to counsel a child or adult who does not blame him or her self for the behavior of the people who hurt them. The double whammy of this is that you are trying to solve a puzzle you can’t (the other person) and not solving the one you can (yourself). Change happens when we reconnect with our hearts and our inner intuition. It’s obvious to see how my confusion at that young time in my life guided my decisions. As I look back on that, I feel sad for the seventeen-year-old girl I was. My relationship with my family was so fractured, but I still sought it out with a different person. We can’t walk a mile in someone else’s shoes, but we don’t have to judge their path. When we understand our own journey, we realize judging another’s is foolish. As I accept myself, I feel angry yet understanding for how we continue to treat others. I just know that it isn’t sustainable. Women stay in abusive relationships for complex reasons. But as a culture we continue to judge them, condemn them, and find reasons to not help them. Woman judge themselves harshly too. I know how much I was judging myself from those same beliefs. It was not helpful. We are better than this. Each women needs to come to her own conclusions. However, how much more quickly would I have come to my conclusions if I had a compassionate caring counselor, coach or friends to help me realize my value and worth as a human being? I eventually began to get there and it gave me the courage and strength to leave. But that was only the beginning of my journey. If you have wondered “Why do I keep ending up with the same kind of people?” then I hope some of what I have shared will help you see you are not alone and there is hope. That young and insecure girl is still part of me, but I have outgrown her beliefs and have created more powerful and sustainable ones. I appreciate her experiences because I have gained so much from them and have used them to help others. Instead of feeling angry with her, I can now embrace that part of my humanity and reconnect to my heart and soul. And so can you. |
Mobile Social media has quickly evolved into a worldwide networking system. Some people use it to share thoughts while others use it to meet new people. Whatever we might individually use it for; in the end it links everyone together. Mobile social media could be viewed as positive or negative advantage. On one hand, it instantly connects you with the rest of the world, from your friends to your family members. You could share photos, videos, thoughts, or links. On the other hand it could also pose as a big distraction. It might take your attention from school, work, or maybe driving. In the end, mobile social media is a tool that we learn to use in a timely manor. While applications are getting diverse and user bases are expanding, there is no one clear platform of choice. A lot of people find themselves very confused about which media to use and get overwhelmed. The important part is to understand why you are using a certain social media and if it’s the best to use for what you want to communicate. Most Nigerians use the social media apps for flirting, most especially guys, why ladies turn the apps to recharge card zone.. Only few benefits from the usefulness of the apps. How many social media apps do you use? |
