anonymous6: Well I don't know which tribe boast the most when it comes to cooking but I have witnessed igbo's, yoruba's, Edo's boast about their cooking and you know what, after eating their foods it wasn't as clear cut. I have tasted Nigerian food from Nigerian restaurants in the states and caterers who are yoruba, igbo, calabar, Edo, Hausa and some of them had good food and some were just ok, and surprisingly it was a split among the tribes.
You obviously have not tasted a real calabar woman's cooking before wink.

shoefreak: A girl with strict father, all these 'fenced in kids' that most of us see in their cars and envy but in their own homes, it's the opposite. I don't really remember the details but it was about a religious home where the after thought everything was sin and was strict. Bla bla bla. Then they traveled or so, and had to live in a different kind of home that was different from theirs. Talk bout introverts and their power of imagination and longing. I think it was a missionary kinda thingy. Lemme confirm sha. But half... I loved loved the houseboy. how he would sit on the stairs and watch the gardner, and his description of the man's accent. And how mama dey mix juju hehehe... if it'd been screened from the eyes of the houseboy.."my good man" it would probably had been better sha.

Obioravla did justice to it ooo. I didn't see "half as a love story though... well sha. except for the hausa and the lady sha... and I remember the lorry trip or so. And the lady with the head...
Sorry guys,I had to quote d long summary so she'll get my appreciation...thank u
TV/MoviesRe: My Experience Of "Half Of A Yellow Sun" At The Cinema by AriDsexy(f): 4:34pm On Aug 04, 2014
obioraval: PURPLE HIBISCUS: Fifteen-year-old Kambili's world is
circumscribed by the high walls and
frangipani trees of her family
compound. Her wealthy Catholic
father, under whose shadow Kambili
lives, while generous and politically
active in the community, is repressive
and fanatically religious at home.
When Nigeria begins to fall apart
under a military coup, Kambili's father
sends her and her brother away to stay
with their aunt, a University professor,
whose house is noisy and full of laughter. There,
Kambili and her brother discover a life and love
beyond the confines of their father's authority.
The visit will lift the silence from their world and,
in time, give rise to devotion and defiance that
reveal themselves in profound and unexpected
ways. This is a book about the promise of
freedom; about the blurred lines between
childhood and adulthood; between love and
hatred, between the old gods and the new.... Hope it refreshed your memory
Thank you,now I know I didn't finish the novel,I enjoyed half of a yellow sun the more.

FoodRe: Why Are Healthy Food More Expensive Than 'junk Food"? by AriDsexy(f): 10:17am On Jul 31, 2014
virago: Please do not mislead people , a 75cl bottle of water goes for 50 naira while a 50cl bottle of coke goes for 70 naira.
A pot of vegetable soup is cheaper to make than an equal amount of egusi soup.
The kind of meat and fish depends on the amount. Shawa and cote is cheaper than any meat available ,
cost of producing wheat bread is higher than white bread so how do you expect it to be cheaper.
Now,when you say vegetable soup,is it the normal efo mixed with other stuffs or the afang or edika-ikong I know because that is what I consider vegetable soup and you can't even begin to compare it with egusi soup.
