Family › Re: Why Do Women Include Their father's Name After Marriage? by Arielle: 7:15am On Jul 11, 2016 |
vodutive: maybe you should stay in your father's house you have known all your life because you sound like you will only bring trouble to any marraige!
A marriage is about 2 people coming together and making decisions TOGETHER, if you are making unilateral decisions of this sort and you feel you don't need permission, then what you want is a husband and kids not a marriage.....many women don't understand the difference!!! You want a husband and kids so you can feel complete and fulfilled as a woman but you are clearly not ready for the commitment, sacrifices and rigors of marriage. Understood. But in the same vein will husbands ask the opinion of the wives if they wish to change their name? The mistaken assumption is that a woman is legally compelled to change her name upon marriage. There is no such thing. Otherwise there would have been an automatic change of name at marriage. As it is, if she so wishes, she can then change it and notify the public. Women are hyphenation their names everyday, with their husbands' consent. Real men, not boys who haven't even found one sisi to stroke their limp dikkss at night! What do you people know about marriage. Oya when you marry divorce her because she no gree change name. Good luck with that!! |

The day her sisters advise her to kill you, you are a dead man. Rat poison is very cheap, 3 for N50. You'll just start getting dry and die behind the fridge. Alternatively, when she disconnects the brake of your car and you dance under Dangote trailer, we'll read it here on NL. By the way, tell your wife's sister's husbands o what their wives are up to. At least if you guys want to buy your coffins in bulk, it should be cheaper. Even if you don't value your life, pity your mother and daughter and kick out that devil even if it's a temporary separation. Flee from temptation... and don't leave a forwarding address. ccffwx: Let no one be selfish here. A woman agreed to be raped so that her husband would live. Raped by more than one person. This shows that she loves him. She is also traumatised not just the husband and deserves love and not selfish egotic excuses. Sometimes I wonder if most Nigerian men are selfish. Rape is never the victim's fault. You're wondering if most nigerian men are selfish? Wonder no more. Read this thread and add conceited, entitled, cruel and immature. A wife is there for his convenience. God forbid that he should put self aside to comfort the woman who actually suffered the rape. Reading the comments here leave me disgusted. And very sad. Even from a Nairalander I had respect for. Thank God I have sons. I pray I raise them different from all these 'men'. If I had daughters I'd encourage them to find husbands far from these shores. |

Politics › Re: Nigeria's First Female President. by Arielle: 11:07am On Jun 27, 2016 |
Arian11: Short answer ; it can't happen
Long answer ; even before she can dream of something like that it has already been squashed
Why ?
1) religion biases - that's when you'll see sole religion saying its a taboo for a woman to rule over them
2) tribal bigotry - some tribalistic individuals would say it's not a woman's place to lead but to follow
3 ) the male ego (I am the head ) - MOST men won't wanna have the idea that "I'm being ruled by a woman " mentality
4) her fellow women - her fellow woman who would convince her and motivate her is still the same person to go and vote for her male counter part ...
Well we are still light years from civilization that I know
P.s someone said "if women ruled the world no need for weapons or attacks ...it would just be bunch of countries not talking to each other" ...lol Too true! |

Reading all these views, I weep for this generation of men and I pity this generation of women. Someone actually said "stupid stupid women". Why the hate and contempt. This is an opportunity to educate yourselves. Most of y'all have never read what the bill is about. You don't know. But your masculine pride is affronted when you hear "equ.. ." and you start braying all over the place. Who is struggling headship with you? That is NOT what the bill is about. That widow who gets thrown out of the house she laboured alongside her late husband to build could very well be your mother. That 15 year old girl forced into marriage could be someone you know. Would you be happy if your sister earns less than a male colleague with the same or less qualifications and experience than she has? And what is this talk about paying bills? Most of you are not married because if you were or if you're truthful, you'll know that in a HUGE HUGE number of Nigerian marriages bills are shared. Sometimes 50/50. Some wives provide 100% because the husbands have lost their jobs. Even the rights some woman may take for granted are denied a whole lot of other women in other parts of Nigeria. Who will speak for them? Please read the bill and understand it. No one is trying to usurp your positions in the home and in the society. Olori Wura? Is she not the same woman people on this same board and all over social media were calling olosho, gold digger etc. She's suddenly an authority? Wow |

uselessgoat: I'm recommending intelligence over military actions to limit collateral damage. The federal government can plant moles in the militants camps or use phone tapping or other technologies to nab the criminal. Imagine what the FBI or Mossad would have done if this were in their territories. How can the FG allow just one man to hold them by the balls? Shameful Thank you! Don't we have intelligence in thus country? Why must everything be done with overt force? More will be achieved with a more who us familiar with the creeks and waterways and villages. They wan shoot gun for area where dem no know, when the militants are heavily armed with heaven knows what. Knowing 'our way', I bet most of the armed forces cannot swim. |

The problem wif these kids abroad is that they copy the whites in everything including tattoo imprint on their fine black skin. What's western or 'white' about tattoos? Body art originated in Africa. Only Africans used vegetable dyes and the whites that copied use needles. Old women in the villages still have these tattoos. |
